Dagger
Somehow I ended up making a banner rather than studying for my history exam. Interesting how that always happens... Anyway, I included a grid in this piece (not to mention some surreptitious scanlines >_>), and I'd love to know whether or not it actually adds something to the banner. It seems as though many people believe that grids are somewhat overdone, and I guess I'd prefer to avoid using them just for the heck of it. ~Dagger~
Xyandar
Thats an awesome Banner! I like how they blend in with the background! What program do you use???? Are they Clouds in the background?
Kanariya
Very nice banner Dagger. The pics are all clean, and the background is interesting. It matches with the pics too. The font is good, though seems a little plain to me. Heh, I see the grids now. Nice work!
Chichiri's Girl
Very nice. I remember the episode where Haru says that. And well the episode where Kyo said that too. Heh I'm addicted to the show I guess. I like the picture of Yuki. And I don't even like him. I think Yuki comes out better in the manga then Kyo. I like Kyo better in the anime. Oh and Haru! Heh Haru looks good both ways. I like how you kind of shaded Haru and Kyo so Yuki looked brighter. The background colors go well with the charcters. Hittokiri Zero
Somehow I ended up making a banner rather than studying for my history exam. Interesting how that always happens...
Your not alone buddy :P... To be honest i'm actually liking your grid effect it's nice and spaced out I wish I could say the same for the scanlines =\. The scanlines just seem kind of pointless if you ask me . And possibly if you used a different font =O. I'm thinking something along the lines of Times New Roman, only not that exact font =O. Also just an idea but maybe if you made the two characters on the left and right grayscale and faded them a bit more... you might get a good effect like that =O. And one last thing before I go back to my history homework... although i'm not hating the border as it is I think a single pixel border would look better than what you have now. ;)
terra
Ha, I have to say, I saw "Fruits Basket banner" in the title and was like, WHAT? I MUST CLICK!! ... Anyway. Sorry to say, Dagger, but out of all the (superb!) banners I've seen you make, I like this one the least. The first thing that jumped out with me was the scanlines: like H. Zero just said, they seem kind of pointless. In fact, I looked at the ones on the right top side and was like, "What are those doing there?" before I realized they were a continuation of the ones on the left where the text was. I would definitely, definitely take them out. I do like the gray and white background you elected to use, and how Yuki is above one of the border pixels. This is just an idea, but maybe you could make the inner border a little less dark, like a dark or medium gray or something. I again agree with H. Zero that the border doesn't look totally right as it is, but I like the Yuki-above-the-border effect enough that I wouldn't want to get rid of the inner border altogether. Well, that was wordy. Speaking of words, the text also bothers me a little. (I honestly didn't think out that corny transition beforehand; I'm just that great a writer. <-- sarcasm) It seems really plain, and I'm not completely sure why it's italics in the top left and not in the bottom. The ellipsis at the end of the quote also doesn't seem to fit, in my opinion. Then again, I almost always dislike quotes in banners anyway, so maybe I'm just prejudiced. Seriously, I don't know why I just commented so extensively on that banner when I've probably let plenty of your banners that I love go by without comment altogether, so sorry. :p
