Message to mods: Sorry if there's already a thread on this movie, I didn't see it.

Well, who here has seen the movie Phonebooth? If you have any doubts about how thrilling a movie about a guy standing in a phonebooth for an hour can be, then get rid of them! The movie is very thrilling and generaly keeps you on your toes.

Alright... spoiler time...
The end has a marvolous twist, in wich the main character discovers that they got the wrong guy... but it's strangely satisfying

Although the "villian" puts the main character through Hell, he actualy seems to have good intensions... the saying "The end justifies the means" definately applies here.
It really keeps you guessing... if you like non-horror suspense, then it's a great movie for you.

Actually I think the movie sucks. Part of the problem is the premise is all wrong to start with.

The sniper claims that he only targets people who are actually bad dudes, but Farrel's character is decidedly average. Also, the ending is a bit predictable and the "wrong guy" thing is barely a twist. It also annoys me that the sniper rifle was left in the room so Sutherland is shown walking around with an empty rifle case at the end. It's not a good film at all in my opinion, but because it's still interesting to watch, it's not a bad one either.

I have to agree with ScirosDarkblade's overall opinion ... Especially that the end isn't as surprising as they seemed to hope it would be. It ends up being a pretty predictable ending to it all, I thought at least, probably because that kind of thing's been done in too many movies before.

And in general there are really only so many things you can do with a movie about a guy in a 4x4 area, and it feels pretty repetitive after a while. It was kind of like Bend It Like Beckham ... same storyline, repeated over and over again. (Hm, that was a really random comparison, but Bend It Like Beckham seems to me the quintessential example of a movie with a repeating storyline ...) The tension created is good, but it's already so high when Farrell first gets stuck in the phone booth that there seems to be no way for it to stay high throughout the rest of the movie.

Still, there is something interesting about it, so I wouldn't turn it off if it were on TV or anything. So it was all right, I definitely wouldn't say it was an awesome movie though.

The storyline is great and the charcters a portrayed excellent, Its been over 4 weeks since i watched it and i am still afrad to use a pay phone. (^ __ ^)

I have mixed feelings on this movie. There were some pretty good parts in the movie, but overall, there wasn't anything happening that I wasn't expecting. I thought the acting was pretty good. I really enjoy Kiefer Sutherland's voice, so that made the movie a bit easier to watch(/listen to), lol.

I was pretty annoyed with the whole prostitutes being one of the main antagonists in the movie. . I was ready for them to go away after about five seconds of hearing them. I also really enjoyed watching Forest Whitaker. He isn't as celebrated of an actor as he should be.

I would like to see this movie a few more times before I decide if I would ever own it. . but I remember liking it the first time I saw it. . so that will have to do for now =)

The premise of this movie was actually a good one, and I was looking forward to seeing it for the suspense. But the ending of this movie was quite possible the worst ending to a movie I have ever seen. I would reccomend never ever seeing this, "Barneys MAgical Adventure" is more entertaining than Phonebooth, and thats just sad.

I agree with some people. The ending of the movie was dissapointing, but the thought was good. If you knew you had crosshairs pointed at your skull, I bet you would be a little more than frightened. I would give the movie two and a half stars, no more, no less. True, the concept is kinda creepy, but the acting was unconvincing (at least I thought) and the ending was bizarre. It may be worth a rental or maybe a pay-per-view, but I wouldn't buy it myself. If you want a good movie, try Air Force One with Harrison Ford.
Sorry if this is spam, but it's kind of disturbing to know that you've seen a movie called "Barney's Magical Adventure".

just had to say it.
It was an exxageration....not hard to pick up on that.

Neway, the Movie would have probably ben alot more enjoyable if the ending played out better. I mean the movie in itself was not bad, I actually semi-enjoyed the suspense in it, but the ending kind of killed all that, which is sad because otherwise it owuld probabaly be a great movie.

I thought it was a generally worth seeing. It's impressive that they pulled it off. So, I give the film points for being ambitious and stylish.

Hosting the majority of the film in one small area worked in favor of Phonebooth. The tension was there (it mounted as the film progressed too) and it generated excitement. I also enjoyed the feeling of desperation. I mean, this guy who has so much control is trapped inside of a glass box and put on trial, so to speak, by an invisible judge. He has no control over this situation. He's helpless.

It's almost like he's facing the wrath of God--because the sniper is a foreign entity that knows everything about him and has the ability to take his life in an instant. Furthermore, some of the situations the sniper put him in were very compelling. So, that was all expertly done.

There was also a nice mix of humor integrated into the action.
For example, I love when he got into the altercation with the prostitutes and one of them accused him of hurting their "dick hand." lol
I understand why people are disappointed with the ending.
Film goers automatically expect the sniper to be a recognizable face that provides shock value. I, for one, am glad they decided not to go that route. ^_^
Well, I saw it for cheap, and I thought it was ok. the only problem is that i saw it with my dad...:S...because you know the Phonebooth is like rated R with the language. Does anyone know what the rating of that movie is? My dad kept on getting aggravated when they kept on saying *******.

Hmm...other than that, Kiefer Sutherland is COOL! I Love him as an actor, he's really great in most of his movies.

I dont' know if i would suggest it or not, becuase this movie took only 3 hours to film, the shortest one out yet. *practically because it was in only one setting*...
I think its kind of funny how they catch the wrong guy, and he really escapes, and really amusing when he just walks up to the ambulance and talks to the guy. Man, the rich guy that cheated on his girlfriends must have been real bad becuase he had as many enemies as he knew people...Gosh, i wouldn't like to be him...
One thing about this... can you really say who the bad-guy was?

On one hand, the sniper is threatening people with their lives, and holding a man hostage in a phonebooth.

On the other hand, he really does have a good cause, and it all turned out for the better.
(besides the dead guy who stood up for the hookers)
Chew on that for a while.

Guest Midnight Rush
phone booth was a mediocre and predictible 'suspense' movie.
Phonebooth's lack certainly wasn't from lack of good cast, I think it was the poor writing...
