Squall
Hey, I didn't see this on the first page, so I guess this is okay. PS I haven't played Devil May Cry 2, so please don't post any spoilers. ------------------- I just got Devil May Cry a few days ago, and beat it. I think it's a great game, even though the plot didn't strike me as too deep or anything like that, but fighting those monsters was great. I just wanted to know what people thought of the game, how they could have made it better, what didn't you like about it. What do you think of the last boss? Then, just to give me a hand Where do you find the shotgun? I heard you could be Sparda after beating it on hard. Is that true?
The (Sic) Shape
I thought it was a great game. I loved the battle system, killing all of those monsters. The graphics are great and I loved the hard rock music that starts playing while you're fighting. They could've have improved it by having a more deeper story, because after awhile its gets boring after constantly fighting monsters when you enter a room. As for the last boss it was pretty easy. I had more trouble against Nelo Angelo and Nightmare. Sorry, but I forgot how to get the shotgun so I can't help you out. And yes, you can get Sparda if you beat it on hard mode, but the only problem is that you can't use Devil Trigger. You also unlock Dante Must Die! Mode, which is incredibly hard. Yoy can also get another character if you beat it. One last peice of advice on Devil May Cry 2: DON'T GET IT!
AzureWolf
How can you spoil a game without a story? DMC2 made absolutely no sense storywise, and nothing is ever clarified - it's ridiculous. So, yeah, one of the things they could have done was not have a sequel done by a different team. And I don't think anyone appreciated Dante bearing more of his chest... And that ridiculous outfit... Wow, getting the shotgun, it was such a long time ago that I honestly can't remember (you retain all your weapons and gear for the higher difficulties). It's in a pretty obvious spot, so you can't miss it if you go through each area. Make sure you go to every place you can while playing through, so you won't miss it. The shotgun is a pretty sweet weapon the first few times you use it, but I found myself using Ebony & Ivory the most, and the grenade gun for the nobody's. You really don't need it, but if you want it, I suggest you either try to find it, or check GameFAQs. I thought the cool thing about "Sparda" was his shadow. I won't say anymore than that since you haven't gotten him yet.
SephirothNIN
Yeah sorry I don't remember exactly where the shotgun was either, just explore everywhere and you'll get the important stuff. I really liked DMC though because it was just plain fun to fight. Which is also the reason I don't really like DMC 2, they changed the combo system and it's just not very fun. They also messed the devil trigger system, and you only get one (I think, I only got about halfway through the game) and you get multiple crummy weapons in 2 that just differ a tiny bit in power, speed, or reach, pfft. I had a ton of trouble w/ the last boss in part 1, lol every time I'd have a really easy time with the first one, then lose horribly to the other, or vice versa. Took me like...13 tries to finally beat him, and a crapload of holy waters (which kick *** in any boss fight because you're invincible while Dante uses it)
Squall
I found the shotgun. In mission 2 under the study table in the 2nd floor library. I didn't really like the last boss, I was kinda hoping he'd be my size, like a perfect match against me. Of course, the entire game would have probably been greater had I not made the mistake of switching to easy mode. Easy mode made the game entirely too easy. I manedged it without using a single holy water, a devil star, or learning any true combos. And now I'm on normal. Geeze there's variation through the difficulties! I'm now stuck on the spider boss, and there's no stradegy that could help me. I'm currently jumping on his back and slashing the heck out of him in DT mode, but it's just the little attacks you need to dodge that gets me. Oh, and I've learned that the fireballs can be used as a weapon against it, if you have exact timing and persision with your sword strike. As you can guess, I learned by fluje, and plan never to try it again.
Ariadyne
Sieg asked that if anyone knew how to get passed Mission 5 in DMC for them to make a new thread about it. This is a little of their post:
I'm on the 5th misson and I dont have the slitest clue on how I'm supposed to get past it. Does anyone have any suggestion on how get past this one, I mean the people that actualy played the Devil May Cry?
Mission Five was the one with the Melancholy Soul, right? (If you're talking about DMC2, just mention it and I'll post one for Mission 5 in DMC2 because I've 100% finished both games and basically have them memorized 'cause I've played them so much) Well, all you got to do is take the Soul to the door all the way at the bottom of the room where you got the Death Sentence at, but you only got 3 minutes and it drains your hp. You begin in the courtyard where you had to fight the Nelo Angelo, and must make your way back to the highest point of the balcony that leads to the bedroom, but you have to fight a Shadow first, so kill it quickly if you want to get an S Devil Hunter Rank in this level. Leave the bedroom and you're already in the tall room that you got the Death Sentence in by riding up that elevator-like thing. Instead of wasting time running down the stairs, you can simply just jump off the edge and you're already down there. The (I think I was blue with some gold outlines...) door is what you examine to complete the mission. I'm not sure what happens exactly if the soul dies out before the 3 minutes, but I saw my friend mess up and have to go get it recharged (I didn't know you could do that). I think he took it to that room where you had to knock back a large table or something to get down a hole, well, just past there is a statue of a prisoner or a slave, and that recharges the soul, but if you kill the shadow quickly and jump down that large room you should make it in time. I merged this with the original DMC thread. If there's already a thread about a game, please just post in it instead of creating an entirely new thread. - Desbreko
Falkon
i think this game is one of the best out there. I have been a follower of it since it came out nad i love it. Problem is, my parents took the DMC games away from me because theyre too "violent" which pisses me off. I dont really remember any way they could make it better, just make more sequels ^_^
