[Baron Samedi]

Welcome. Here is my latest, and certainly pretty damn good banner, entitled 'Markup Helix'. I was inspired for this name due to the appearance of the very back layers of airbrushing... which you can barely even see now.

A lot of layer blending and such went into this piece, as did a lot of time. The character you see was cropped from a piece called Lost Akelda which I found online.

I will probably append this to my signature tomorrow if I recieve favourable reviews of this piece. I quite like it.

I have an accompanying avatar as well- which is a cutout of the "Akelda's" head.

So... go for it.

It's very crisp and smooth.

The colors are nice and calming, blending together quite well.
Your choice of font is also pretty much spot on - I fail to see that it can be made better [i]*nods*[/i]

My only objection is that your name feels misplaced...
"Baron" and the eyebrow seems to battle for attention - that's about as clear as I can get right now [i]*shrugs and smiles*[/i]
Although, if you were to move it slightly to the left - it might look like you've branded the poor sweet thing O.o

It'll be nice to see this one in your sig ^_^

OK. I took your comments to mind Mimmi and faded the Akelda, as well as rotating my name.

How do you feel about it now?

I think that you should keep Akelda as it was in the first banner -
it had more of a fun effect then[size=1] (as if it were staring at the "Markup Helix" text)

What if you tried putting "Baron" at the other end of the first banner ? (in the upper left corner, I mean)

Hhmmm. The only place my name looks good is there. Anywhere else- it doesn't look right. I didn't crop the banner at all. lol.

I'll try anyone's advice. And I am sure your advice is a lot better than you profess it to be ~_^

[COLOR=darkred]When I checked the size of the two banners, I saw that they were the same size.... but the first one seems to have more space on the left side.... maybe it's just my computer [i]*shrugs*[/i]

I have absolutely nothing to say about the avi - simply because it is perfect ^_^

PS: could you try inserting "Baron" vertically again, on the second banner - so that I could see if it works better that way [i]*bats eyelashes* [/i]^_^

[size=1] Your second banner is, in my opinion, better than the first. But, your second one looks [i]slightly[/i] unbalanced. I'm guessing you were evening things out by using the text and the head, but the middle part seems too long. I don't know if this will help, but making the banner shorter in length might make it seem...not so bare. *shrugs* Great job with the graphics, though.[/size]
