Dragon Warrior
Ah yes. I never heard of him in my life :) But now, when I went to see Big Fish in the theatres, I saw a movie poster and it looked sweet. Then my parents saw it and were saying he was some kind of vampire slayer. Yays! Anyways, the main character is Van Helsing of course and is played by Hugh Jackman. Turns out, he's actually more of a legendary monster slayer, but same diff. The plot is that Van Helsing is ordered to go to Transylvania to slay the vile Count Dracula while joining forces with Anna Valerious who wants to rid a curse that has affected her family for generations and to get rid of it, the vampire must die. There are also a wide variety of odd characters that some may be familiar: Frankenstein's assistant Igor, a friar who must keep Van safe, and lastly, three blood-thirsty sisters who are the brides of Dracula himself and will help their master with his every whim. Sounds freakin' awesome, huh?
WW2
I wouldn't go as far as sayin' its awsome, but it is pretty interesting that they've brought back a classic character that few people have heard of. Hmm...maybe its all just a big marketing ploy.:therock: Anyways, from what I've seen from the official site, Van looks pretty cool. He's kinda got an old school matrix look mixed with The Shadow. From your story synopsis, it seems to have the potential to be a good movie, unless they go all hollywood and screw it up. :D
Dragon Warrior
Special effect cracks usually mess up movies, in my opinion. They try to make it look "so cool" when it turns out to look like crap. Like in a chase scene, when a get gets tipped over in real life, it doesn't automatically blow up causing a mushroom cloud. I mean, wtf? But I will go as far as saying it looks awesome 'cause in my opinion, it does :)
Semjaza
I've been looking forward to this movie for several months now. I can't remember if there was a trailer or not, but lately I've been seeing big displays for it at the theater. They seem to have a good style down for it. Should be a lot of fun if it is done well and takes itself somewhat seriously. I'd like to see it. It's on my list with Hellboy and Kill Bill vol. 2 for movies to see this year. Dragon Warrior
Off-Topic: I've heard of Hellboy. What the dizzle is he? Yeah, I definately want to see it. He awesome a sweet costume that, in a way, reminds me of the LXG. I like the suit with the whole trench coat and wicked big hat dealie. If I find a post, I'll post it! (All I seem to find are pictures of Van Helsing from the old Dracula movie)
Gavin
I've seen some trailers for this film and it looks quite interesting, I'm not sure when it's due out but that kind of supernatural-horror genre is one of my personal favourites. The fact that Hugh Jackman will play Van Helsing would tell me that this is going to be a very action based film but I'll wait until it is out to see if I'm right
Dragon Warrior
Yeah. My sister is very happy Hugh Jackman is playing Van (she thinks he was hot as Wolverine or something like that...). Plus, he can play those kind of characters, obviously. As for the date, it comes out this May.
Manic Webb
As much as I hate Dracula constantly being remade and revamped (no pun intended), I'm looking forward to Van Helsing. I heard about it a month ago, while searching through Yahoo Movies (which I do way too often). Hugh Jackman will make an interesting Van Helsing, especially since Anthony Hopkins was the last person to play that character.
Arkadyz
Well the most interesting thing to me about this movie is the fact that not only will it include dracula but frankensteins monster and wolf-man. Should be a nice fun free for all...And it should be interesting to see jackman play another hero aside from wolvie :p Oh and lynx thats kinda interesting that you've seen some trailers for it...Considering the first trailer wont be out until friday...:therock: :p

It didn't show anything really, but I remember something with the character standing there while text went by. I could me imagining it. Hellboy is based upon a really excellent comic series. I'm looking forward to it, mostly because it seems like it will be the kind of fun, comic book experience it should have been in the first place. I don't really know what the movie itself will be doing in terms of the storyline, as I've been trying to avoid news on it lol
Dragon Warrior
Sounds like Daredevil to me, Azarel XD But I'll give it a chance. It may be what my friend was talking about when he said there's a new super hero flick coming out called "The Executioner". And Arkadyz, it's not Frankenstein's monster, just his assistant, Igor. As for Anthony Hopkins playing him, I didn't know that happened. The only other time I've ever heard someone playing Van Helsing was Mel Brooks in the original Dracula (the good one). Arkadyz
Tsk, tsk dragon you havent read much about this one hun? :p Frankensteins monster will indeed be in the movie. This is a pic of him from the set...Not the greatest shot but oh well http://www.latinoreview.com/films_2004/universal/vanhelsing/vh-setpics-22.html I also attached the concept artwork for him...Should be fun to see all 3 of them in the same movie. Oh and also...Interestingly enough one of the girls that plays one of the three wives of dracula posted up some pics of her, the other wives and dracula http://josie-maran.com/vanhelsing.htm ***edit*** Damn...I couldnt attach the concept pic cause it was too big...Oh well if ya wanna see it, its somewhere on cinescapes website. Dragon Warrior
I stand corrected, my friend =D He indeed looks pretty good too. But as I said before, I hope it doesn't turn out to be big on special effects and ruin the whole thing =/

HOpefully this movie will be good and show us a few more skills that MR. Hugh Jackman has. But even if it isn't good. I'll still give him his props for trying out a different role.. HEHE Besides who could just pass up a handsome man such as him. Lord know I wouldn't be able to!

In many ways it could be a great remake, or it could be a huge flop (i.e. League of Extraordinary Gentleman). but Hugh Jackman is indeed yummy, and it'll be interesting to see him in another role besides Wolverine. Daredevil has nothing to do with actual devils, demons or anything like that lol. The only similarity is that they are based on comics heh. Dragon Warrior
Indeed, Azarel :) And League of Exdraordinary Gentlemen was sweet, IMO. Also, I could've sworn Hugh has been in some other movie O.o

Oh and no bigs on that dragon...I couldnt believe that they had all 3 of them in the movie too...I was just sitting waiting for them to announce a cameo by the creature from the black lagoon :p
