Fyxe
Yes, the subject of what I want to name my children has crossed my mind many times. And yes, I'm only 14. But sometimes it's fun to try and come up with cool names for your future kids(if you even have any anyway). I wouldn't name my kid a japanese name though, even though I'm sure many want to. What would be the point of naming your kid something that you will regret as you get older? Plus think about how that name would put an impact on your kids life. Here are some names I've always liked: Girls: Jade, Alexandra, Paige, Jamie, Raven, and Faye. Boys: Alex, Jake, Shane, Jared, Josh and I'm sure so many others. That's more the less a short list from me, I know I have a ton more. Hmm, I like alot of names that start with J, don't I?
Queen Asuka
Saraness, I really like the name Morgaine. I wouldn't pronounce it "Morgan" either. I'm so silly. *Writes it down under "fourth daughter." I forgot all about Miss Alissa Dawn. But Ryan said he doesn't like Alissa...Morgaine Dawn? Or Dawn Morgaine...Oooo...*brainstorms* Speaking of the names Bob, Tom, and Harry, I heard on the radio one morning (the morning of my wreck actually O_o...) a show and they were talking about how no one names their kids "good" names anymore. I think it's pretty funny. You hear some names sometimes and you're like "I would never name my kid that. That is SO grandma!" Names like Helen, Elzira, Pam, etc etc. See what I mean? No offense if that's your name. ^_^

However what these people fail to realise is that "Christ" in greek, is spelt "Xristos", where the greek "X" is pronounced like the "Ch" at the end of bach, loch (in scotland), etc. In fact the Ichthus (the fish thingy) usually has written on it "IX(-)US" (the "(-)" is my poor attempt at a greek theta, and the S actually looks like an E, but at the same time there is an E, so I can't put that :p) Pronounced "Ich-thus"- which is an anagram. The first two words of which are "Iesous Xristos"- Jesus Christ. So there we go. The early Christians replaced Christ with "X", so I don't see how theologically uncorrect it can be. Back to the actual discussion- Not entirely sure what I'd go for. I'd probably decide on something biblical, and in the original hebrew (like "Yeremi'yah", "Dana'yal", or "Ya'acov") if it was left to me, so I think I'd leave the mother to decide on something a little more fair on the child ^^;
Bio
(If I even have kids) Boys: Mark- I dunno... It sounds kinda cool, as in a marking on something, and it doesn't make the kid sound like an anime character. Seth- It's not too strange, yet not too normal. Seth or Set is the Egyptian god of chaos too, so... Girls: Gaia- Believe it or not, it isn't as exotic as it looks. (pronounced Jee-ah) I could call her "Ji" for short. Jade- I like this name too... It can mean many things.
Patronus
Here we go: Boys Dominic Wesley (Dom) Cameron Michael (Cam) Christian Dawson Daniel Jacob (D.J.) Adrian or Aiden Lee Girls Alexandria Leslie (Lexy) Letty Elizabeth Audrey Katherine Raven Marie Rachel Danielle No, I don't want this many kids. But these are my first/middle name choices. There isn't much history behind them, I just heard them and I liked them, although Dominic and Letty are from The Fast and the Furious. :D

Kanariya
Hey, mine name's Alexandra! Heh go Conna... If I do name my kids, my girls would probably be named Beatrice, Melissa, or Michelle. If I had boys, they would be as simple Michael, Harrison (in memory of the most annoying glaring boy in my school), or Mark. Most of these names I use all the time, and I call the boys these girl names. Memories I will use, I should say. Heh, I would name my kid Satin. I do have the guts, but I wouldn't want to make him made fun of. DeathBug
You know, I'm thinking of naming a pet after an anime character; I want a black cat named "Mihoshi". Unfortunatly, I be allergic to cats. As for children, which are like more obnoxious pets that want to drive your car... I'm thinking Alexander, Seth, Bradly or Xavier for a boy. For a girl, I'm thinking Bonita, Clarissa or Paige. Should probably look up name origins and stuff before having a kid...

If I had a daughter, I believe I would name her Melissa, or perhaps Anna. I've always like those names, for some odd reason. If I had a son, what a twisted son of a ***** he would be. Oh, wait, what are we talking about? ... Ah, names. Right. I guess Blaine, Gus, or Erich. Blaine, for my grandfather; Gus, a good friend of mine killed a few years ago in a car accident; and Erich, for what my name should have been. Arcadia
Well now, I don't know about the 'children' part of this, but I know I'm always thinking up names for stories and invisible friends and stuff. Usually I'll like one name for awhile, then drop that one and find a new one. Right now though, here's what I can think of.. Girls: Lyn, Rachel, June, Elizabeth, Guinevere (that's all because of King Arthur, right there), Julia, Iara (pronounced with a Y)... yeah. Guys: Joshua, Jacob, Aiden, Holden, Caine, Corwin, Coriander, Kevin, Julian, Brandon. I've never bothered to think about middle names. That's a little too much right now, heh. Too scary. :p

That's a little too much right now, heh. Too scary. :p
I know of 3 boys who were named Aiden in one form or another. And they're all still infants. There's Aiden, Aydin and Aidyn. I always need to think of a middle name to go with the first name-I've done that ever since I started writing and needing characters for stories. Well, Unless you count my made up senshi. Besides, when you get to the point in your marriage where you're thinking about having kids or you're suddenly pregnant or you're adopting a kid you sorta have to make sure the whole thing flows. I keep telling my husband that David Kristofer Crisler doesn't flow, but he doesn't listen-Anywho: So far for girls I like the following: Abigail Kali Elisabeth Serenity (look, manga name!) London Breena And Larissa Elisabeth Boys are a bit trickier because my husband grew up with an out of the ordinary name and he doesn't wantto inflict anyone else with it. So for boys we've figured: David Lincoln (sounds like the kid has two last names but....) Jason Xander ( I guess Lincoln figures if he hates his middle name, his son should too) and Evan Michael For Sara-yes, Leilani is a Hawaiian name-I found it in a baby name book Continuing: When naming your kid, consider this-you didn't get to choose your name and didn't you think your parents hated you for naming you that? Well maybe you did and maybe you didn't, but the point is, take that into consideration. You're child really doesn't need to go thru life being called Marmaduke or Ethelfreda let alone Vash or Shippou. Yes, you could probably get away with Meryl or even Kira if you had to. But remember that some day congress may pass a law so that it's considered child abuse to name your off-spring Yume, Hotahori, Moonbeam or anything that is just plain wrong.

No one knows exactly how any word was pronounced.)
Hebrew is a bit like that- there's a lot of disagreement about how the letters "Waw/Vav" and "Yod" were pronounced in ancient times. Many argue that Yod is pronounced "Y", older transliterators claimed "J". And the Wav is thought to be either "W" or "V"- where the "V" is the more traditionally accepted version. Hence most transliterations of Hebrew names incorporate the J and V, rendering the name of God "Jehovah". Newer transliterations make it "Yehowah". However there is also evidence that the vowels in the name of God (vowels were never written in ancient hebrew) were "a" and "e" rather than "e", "o", "a". This makes the name "Yahweh". (Vowels are written in the hebrew text of the OT- but this is a recent addition, a kind of guideto help people know how the words are pronounced- before that people just remembered where all the vowels were) Also, in Hebrew the letter "t" and the letter "th" are exactly the same- the pronunciation is indicated by a little mark called a dagesh, in the middle of the letter. In a fair amount of ancient languages you'll find that there are seperate letters for sounds that we usually make with two, like "th", "ts", "ph", "ch", "dh", "ps" (various ones from hebrew and greek). So yeah. Ancient languages are interesting- and usually cause some discrepancy w.r.t. pronunciation. :p

Whiteblaze
I think about this every once in a while and to me there?s simply one thing to keep in mind; nothing too common. I see nothing wrong with common names except the fact that they are common (no offense to anyone). My name is Krystle and in school there have always been other Crystals. I remember everyone would sometimes have to distinguish you only by your last name. I?m even the third Crystal in my family; when all three of us are together I?m known as Crystal #3. Well, that?s actually kind of funny! ^_^ I?ve lost track of how many Michelle?s I?ve been friends with; my best friend in the third grade?s name was Michelle and I currently have another Michelle for a friend. I actually like that name, but this is my point. If I do have children my mind is made that they won?t have common names. No, they won?t be bizarre, weirdo names; just uncommon or unique. My family has a few names I like that aren?t too common: Marctavius, Zaiya, Deidrianna (one of my favorite cousin?s), and Kendreille. A very unique name I?ve come across is Quiounesse (Kee-oh-ness); it sounds beautiful, very elegant, isn?t hard to pronounce, and it starts with a Q and not many names used start with a Q. Foreign names are interesting to me because they are different and unheard of. Before I moved, I new a girl named Nhu-Y (New-ih), but she said to pronounce it (New-wye). Then, I guess she got tired of people saying (New-wye) so she told everyone to call her Yvonne instead. I suppose she didn?t like her own name because it was so different. One unique name, that belongs to a guy in a class of mine last year, is Kyoshi. I?ve always thought that name sounded cool. Anyway, yes that?s a unique name, especially for someone who looks 100% Caucasian, but whom is actually, partially Japanese. He was quite an interesting person and out of the ordinary in his own way which worked well with his very out of the ordinary name. I don?t suppose just anyone could carry a unique name like that and have it work. Even if his name was Michael or Bob, he?d be the interesting person you would want to be around. I like to think, ?You make things what they are? and usually not the other way around because even though, Kyoshi, might sound already like a neat name or not, he made his name what it is. He was a senior and last I heard of him, was he was going to go to college in Japan and teach there. So, you might see that unique names don?t always mean someone is going to get teased or hate their name.
Motfati
I made a list of my favorite names once but...I lost it... So, yes, it is Japanese (whatever!) but I have always liked the girls' name Hikaru. It's just so fluent off the tongue... My name's pretty unique only for the reason that it's spelled differently than normal. Instead of Kayla, it's Kala. I hate it when stupid random boys at school call me Kahla like with two short a's. Gr. As for boys' names...I've always been particular to Isaac. Hm. Lol. Isaac and Hikaru...perfect names for a brother and sister pair, eh? And I suppose if you did get stuck with a cruddy name like...Hot Dog, you could always go for a nickname and when you move out, change it. Only 18 years of worrying the stupid substitue will use your real name...

ChibiHorsewoman
I don't know why, but names in general have always interested me. It was either because I'm a writer, or I had too many Barbie dolls and I didn't want to call any of them Barbie. Nor did I want to call my Ken dolls Ken. Actually, Ken had issues and was named: David Joe Brett Adam Jason Lime Mike and Chris As for names of people I've known whose names I find interesting: Xuan Xuyen Yachica (pronounced Ya-shee-KAH) Kiko (a boy in my art class) LaShandra LaShay Lincoln (big surprise there) Orlando Joel (pronounced Joe Ell) Pandora-(a very distant 2nd cousin) Kendall Lacey LeeAnne Ladoris. My friend Tommee likes to dress in drag some times and he's told me if he ever does it professionaly he wants to be called Autumn Reign. Go figure. I'm just going to stop here for now
