oshi
Milo and I are starting an adventure. We need four other participants, so if you're interested, follow the format and sign up. We'll select you sometime during the next week, so give us your character before then. The Story: Adar Greenwood (Milo's character) is a prominent elven noble with a haughty attitude and a kidnapped niece. Niesa is his favorite relative, whom he takes more pride in than even his wife (who is very nice, so I don't understand why he . . . nevermind, anyway). He gets word that she has been kidnapped by a band of ogres--smelling, disgusting creatures that wanted a beautiful elf around to spruce up the place--and he is furious. In his extreme arrogance, Adar put out a notice for able-bodied beings to contact him to work as his bodyguards. (This is where you come in.) Adar is skilled in magic and swordsmanship, but he doesn't want to get his hands dirty with whatever lowlife might attack him during the journey. He doesn't know what the reason is for the kidnapping, but he is not about to sit and take the insult that it has become to him. (Besides, he's probably got something weird going on with Niesa . . . .) My character (follow this format) Name: Marionn Sicte Age: 17 Race: elf Appearance: Tall for his age, slim, white haired, has very light green (almost yellow) eyes. Slim fingers and legs, he has a thief's build. Abilities: Thieving. He's not a fighter. He's not a bodyguard. He's just very poor, and needs money badly. He usually just steals something and pawns it off to get by, but he hasn't been having much luck lately. Weapons: . . . None. Like I said, he's not a fighter. If Adar finds out, he'll be pissed, I'm sure. :D Background: Basically raised himself, he has had no elven role models to bounce off of. Gets by on stealing and pawning. Personality: Is quiet, shy, and mild, does not get angry as often as he gets embarrassed. Supporting Characters: Anjil, a member of a sisterhood I have yet to name; is quiet, withdrawn and clairvoyant; can faintly feel what Marionn does and sense when he is in danger. Your character is your creation. Use your head and be creative; Marionn is not a fighter but is pretending to be one. The format for your stats is what we need you to follow, not the personality of my example character. If you sign up for this adventure, keep in mind that much of the plot is not fixed, so is flexible, and that you need to be able to participate on a reasonably regular basis. Also, you?ll be working for a snobby, arrogant, selfish bastard, which may or may not be your thing.:)
Milo
Name: Adar Greenwood Age: Really, really old Race: Pure elf (he prides himself on this) Appearance: Very tall and slim, very pale blonde hair, fiery green eyes, very sharp ears and pale skin. Obviously a nobleman. Has a tendency to wear the color blue with gold gilding?all the time. (He?s so egotistical!!) Abilities: Skilled in swords and magic use (blue is the color of his energy, FYI). Has an oddly powerful charisma when needed? Weapons: A very long katana, garishly decorated with intricate gold scrollwork. Keeps it at his side. He can also summon a second copy of this katana using magic. It?s blue and pretty! :love2: Background: Adar has had the privilege of growing up a nobleman. He was rather spoiled as a child (oh, who am I kiddin?? He? s a brat!!), and has acquired a high status where he is from. Of course, riches follow with such a position. Personality: Haughty, rude, arrogant, vain, and cold. He very rarely takes a liking to anyone, but ONE of you may get lucky? (?Specially if you?re a pure-blooded, sexy elven babe! :D ) Supporting Characters: Mystic Greenwood, his wife. Their marriage was arranged, so both are rather unhappy with the situation. While Adar attends many elven brothels, Mystic is forced to stay home and be a very bored noblewoman. Mystic is flawlessly kind, polite, and sweet, so gets along with her husband terribly. I?ll be looking forward to your sign-ups, adventurers! Milo :whoops:
Dagger
Name: Tybalt Kamina Age: 29 Race: Super Sai.... just kidding. ^_- He's fairly certain that he has some kind of supernatural blood (especially since he hasn't aged a bit since turning twenty), but isn't really sure what. Since Tybalt looks and acts human enough--for the most part--this rarely becomes an issue. Appearance: He's of average height, with gray eyes and long, dark hair that he keeps tied back in a low ponytail. Though a bit on the lean side, Tybalt is rather nicely muscled. He tends to wear dark, earthy colors, and has a peculiar fondness for leather. Abilities: He relies mainly on his psychic powers to hypnotise, maim and/or seduce the enemy. However, if that fails, he can always fall back on archery (which he happens to be extraordinarily good at). Weapons: His mind and a wicked-looking crossbow. Background: As a child, Tybalt was enslaved to a human-hating elven widower. He never knew his parents or siblings. He tolerated the beatings and abuse, and generally internalized his emotions--until, at the age of fifteen, he slaughtered the nobleman's entire household, including his young daughters and infant son. A half-crazed teenage boy would never have been able to take on a full-grown elf, but this didn't stop the widower from fleeing. Tybalt's main reason for contacting Adar is that he wishes to find this elven man and finally slay him. Since this wouldn't exactly endear him to any of the elves in Adar's company (not to mention Adar himself), he generally avoids speaking about his past. Personality: Tidy, calm, and almost infuriatingly logical, Tybalt can out-think nearly any opponent. He also seems to have no concept of personal space, which can lead to some rather embarrassing confrontations. He loves watching people get annoyed, but, with the help of some subtle manuvering, generally manages to stay on everyone's good side. Despite his rampant bloodlust, he's ultimately an agreeable, even-tempered kind of guy. Supporting Characters: None, although he has a lot of a acquaintences. If you bump into a random person on the street, chances are that he or she will have met, spoken to and/or had sexual relations with Tybalt at one point or another. EDIT: Added my race.... okay, fine, I just threw in a couple lines of equivocation. >_>; ~Dagger~
Cyriel
Name: Veil Age: 16 Race: pure elf (doesn't care) Appearance: 5'5", and a slender, smoothly-toned build. Still kind of in the adolescent stage, she hasn't really developed all that much...(get away perverts.) She has straight, short black hair, and light gray eyes. She wears a supple, misty-gray tunic over a dark, long-sleeved one. Abilities: Can call/disperse mist, fog, and clouds, which she blends into rather nicely. Weapons: a plain dirk, and a longbow. Background: Veil is a distant relative of Mystic, and recently has come to live with them because Adar is such a prominent noble (to her annoyance.) She has been raised as a proper noblewoman herself, but finds that it's just a waste of time. However, she does abide the formalities, so that she won't disappoint her family. Primarily Mystic has seen to the education and raising of Veil, since Adar doesn't really associate himself with his wife all that much. Veil is very fond of Mystic, because of her kindness and gentle nature. She gets very angry and annoyed at Adar because he spends his time in brothels...and so has a very strong dislike of him. Only recently has he noticed her because she volunteered to go and rescue Niesa. However, she's doing this as a chance to redeem Mystic in his eyes. Personality: She is very sensitive to her personal space. She doesn't like others touching her, and keeps physical contact with others to the very minimum that's necessary, unless she's trying to hack their brains out with her dirk. She doesn't really mind being at close proximity with someone, unless she's reading or cleaning her weapons. Only touching is the issue. She doesn't really like seeing death up close, so that's why she chose the longbow as her weapon of choice. Even that can be turned into a staff or whip if the enemy gets closer, and the final weapon would be her dirk. She's only really encountered guys in combat. If they try to hit on her, she will politely and distantly decline, her stony expression never changing. She hates the drama of love, and thinks you shouldn't let your feelings take over, because then you can't think rationally. She also kind of is biased against males, mostly because of what she's seen from Adar. Supporting Characters: Mystic and Adar Greenwood.
Dagger
I actually have a couple of questions regarding the milieu in which the RPG will take place. I assume that it's a slightly Tolkien-ish sort of place, but I could easily be wrong. It'd be great if one of you could explain, for example, how elves and humans tend to interact in this world (i.e. are they civil to each other?). Also, I was wondering what enemies might threaten our characters during their adventure. While the ogres will obviously be something of a problem, I'd like to know if other bad guys and beasties could potentially become obstacles. Thanks for indulging me. ^_^ ~Dagger~
oshi
Of course I'll explain. The Elven Realm is the kind of unattainable place that you can only get to if you know how, so Adar is likely going to travel from it to meet his bodyguards. The most part of the actual story is not going to take place there, because there would probably be all kinds of rules and properties that are just too complicated to get into. Elves and humans interact on the level that they can intersect each other's worlds, but are generally found in their own places. (Like finding a penguin farther south than you usually would; possible, but not the norm.) Elves are not exactly inclined to consort with humans, just because they are raised among their own kind as superior beings. Adar will look down upon anyone who is not an elf, but don't be discouraged into not making a character of a different race, by all means. Most elves really don't care if you're human or not; it's just the snotty noble ones that you have to watch out for. *wink* Also, of course there will be other troubles. Like I said, the plot is in no way fixed, and as long as no one does anything crazy, like try to go back in time or something impossibly confusing like that, anything goes. It just has to make sense in every area: just because it's nighttime doesn't mean they all have to have sex, and just because someone's got a sword doesn't mean they have to chop off someone's head. If you've taken everything into account and it fits--you go right ahead. (Like if Tybalt were to come across some acquaintance from long ago that wanted to kill him, that would work. That kind of thing.) It's boring without input. Otherwise there would be no plot twists. We want this to be fun! oshi
