Anti-Flag

Recently I have been listening to a lot of Anti-Flag. They are somewhat controversial(sp?) You are either with them or against them. So far they have 6 or 7 albums out. Back to the controversial(sp?) part. With many songs against Bush, (take turncoat for example) they have come to be known as "Bush-haters". The new cd (The Terror State) has had it's cover removed becuase of it's controversy(sp?). Their songs maybe be only a bunch of words of hate, but to me they are another band I have fallen in love with.

Any thoughts of your own please post.

[size=1]I kind of have to be in the right mood in order to listen to Anti-Flag. While they [i]do[/i] have their strong, political views, they way they present them often seems like they are just whining. Whining is not rebelling, it is just annoying. It might be because of Sane's voice, which can get irritating after a while, but I just have a hard time trying to sit through one of their albums.


Another thing is, which supports the idea there is not a lot of real heart behind their music, none of them have ever really lead a bad life. They are from at least middle-class families. They may be [i]familiar[/i] with aspects of politics that have really screwed with society and the like, but they do not [i]know[/i] it. I doubt they have ever experienced much of what they sing about first-hand, so it takes a bit of the credit from them.

I find myself enjoying their more light-hearted songs like "Watch the Right" over their songs in which they are trying to be serious. When they are serious, it just comes off as mindless, unfounded complaining and whining. However, simply taking something and making fun of it a bit can get an entirely different reaction. I suppose that is also why I prefer their older stuff where they foucsed more on social problems than political.[/size]

They are pretty good even though I do agree they they may not have expierenceed the stuff first hand, but they do have good music. They may have a way off base for their songs though they still are pretty good. I like the guitarist. Their words are a blur to someone who loves guitar. I haven't really heard to much of them, but what I have heard I liked.

lol, i like anti-flag for some reason they're great....yesh i saw them in concert quite a few tomes i have no problem with them
