Does anyone remember this awesome citrus soda? Coca-Cola took it off the market because it wasn't selling very well. I was a big fan of the soda, and I was wondering if anyone else here was too.

I used to ride my bike up to the store every so often (whenever I had the money) and get some Surge. My parents didn't want to buy it for me because it had a lot of caffeine in it.

Surge is known as Urge in Europe and I believe it is still being sold. In the USA the only place you can find it is in soda fountains.
There's a website called Save Surge that was made to bring back Surge. www.savesurge.org - Check it out if you want to fight to get Surge back in stores.

Please share your thoughts or memories about this soda. I'm curious to know how many people remember it. I'm also curious to how many people like this soda.

Oh man... I remember this stuff.

So many good times. I simply loved the citrus stuff. My parents would usually buy it for me whenever I bothered them too much.
Whenever I'm at the movies or at a restaurant that still has the stuff on tap, I definitly get it.

I'm going to check out the site, and if there's a petition, sign it.

I only had it a few times because they didnt sell it in my city. Im not sure why, but I remember that I first noticed it when my family was driving down to florida for vacation. The first stop out of Rochester I noticed this stuff called Surge. I was like, "What the hizzel is that!" My dad said it was the new coke product and I was all excited about it. I wish Rochester had Serge when they made it, then I would have rocked it, but we dont. I MISS YOU SURGE!

Anyway, the most caffinated soda had to be Jolt...you could fuel a rocket with Jolt Cola
I have always wondered whether or not that stuff tasted very good. I think some people just drank it BECAUSE of the caffeine. I mean, did it taste sugary? I'm just so darn curious!

As for Surge, I used to drink it alot when it first came out, and I believe that was way back when I was in middle school. I quit drinking it after a while because the "newness" of it wore off and I went back to Mountain Dew. Which is, by the way, the best soft drink in existance.

I can't say that I have any especially fond memories of Surge, just that it came out when I was an idiot in middle school. Eh, good times. ^_^

Actually, my cousin is friends with the owner of jolt cola's son. I went to the Jolt mansion for a new years eve party like 4 or 5 years ago. They had all you could drink Jolt and Pirates Keg(their rootbeer product). I think they also make that DNA drink, but Im not sure. Jolt is actually real good, and I love Pirates Keg orange cream soda. I am a full supporter of Jolt cola!

I always thought it tasted like a sweeter RC Cola. It doesn't taste too sweet, but it is a little sugary. In all honesty it doesn't hold a candle to plain ole' Coca-Cola.

Hmm, I remember Serge. Or the commercials for it, at least. I don't think I ever drank it though, because of the fact that I've always been on a strict (parent-enforced) caffeine diet until a few years ago. I'm sure I had it once or twice, but most of my caffeine-high induced memories are from Mountain Dew (mmmmm, so yummy) so I can't be sure.

I do remember the commercials though . . . O_o;;

I remember it, but I didnt think that it was that great. It tasted just like Mountain Dew, and I hated Mountain Dew so I never really drank it. But yea, I remeber it.
I don't see how you can say it tasted like Mountain Dew. I hate Mountain Dew, but I loved Surge.

maybe if they do some better advertising, new look, and new taste, it'll sell better.
If they changed the look and taste, would it really be Surge anymore?

I remember Surge. It was disgusting, unless it was warm. o.O
I know what you mean! Although I didn't find it disgusting when cold, I preferred it warm.

At one time, Surge was my favorite soda; my friends and I would go to a corner store and treat ourselves to our own individual two liter bottles. Eventually, I was able to down mine pretty quickly--what a terrible mistake that turned out to be. The gas was painful.

All in all, it was much better than Jolt. So, yes, I too miss this wonderful beverage.

Ooh, I remember this soda. Surge was one of my favorites, all though not the best tasting soda in the world.
I wondered what happened to it, it had just disappeared. It, to me did kind of like taste like Mountain Dew, but I love Mountain Dew so who cares. O.o

Half of the reason I actually drank it though was that it did have caffeine and sugar. The other half was for that it did taste good, good stuff.

I remember Surge. I started drinking it because it was green. ^_^
It's number two in the three most highly caffeinated beverages. I didn't like Jolt and Mountain Dew just doesn't do the all night job Surge could do. I say, bring back Surge. Are you with me, yay or nay?
Just kidding, but it would be great if Surge reappeared on the shelves.

That stuff was addicting. It would make me sick, but I couldn't tear myself away from it. It is the Devil's beverage!!! It's a liquid mixed of pure evil, and hatred for humanity. DAMN YOU SURGE!!!!
TVE now has my vote for funniest post of the week. Way to go, Rob!

And yeah. Surge was very addicting. My cousin, Rich, got me hooked on it. Anytime he'd come over here, he'd bring a 2-liter or two, and anytime I was over there, we drank 6-packs.

I swear, I was becoming Tweak before I went cold turkey. I still get the craving nowadays...glad I started smoking. That helps a lot.

Sugar and I are a very dangerous duo. Just ask my deathmatch friends to describe the...Skittles Situation.

When I was a sophomore in high school, some Surge! representatives came to our Homecoming pep rally and handed out free cans of the stuff and T-shirts. I always thought it was very similar to Mountain Dew and I am not a huge fan of either. The only reason I remeber the soda is because we got it for free, and free is always good.
