sunyippee
Hey.. guys and gals..would you like to know your Chinese name based on your English name? The English name here should be your first name, and the Chinese name is translated by the pronunciation of it. It is the rule. And now, for example, Ann's Chinese name is The pronunciation is ann the same. If you want, give me the English name you would like to translate, I'll give you Chinese name:D
Kitty
To be honest, I've always wanted to know my name in other languages. I guess Chinese will be the first. :D My first name is Reveille. It's pronounced: Reh-vuh-lee. People who know about the army/navy might have heard of it before. It's a song played in the mornings to wake soldiers up (or at least, it USED to be). Well, I'm excited to hear my Chinese name. Show me the bacon.
Kwai
I have a Chinese name. Well, I'm Japanese so my name is written in Chinese Kanji. Kunieda Gen. I'm interested in seeing how the Chinese kanji/character will fit that name... so give it a go. I'm more or less sure that it will turn out exactly the same as it does in Japanese, but just curious. If possible, give me the meaning of my name as well. Thank you. On a side note, your banner says "I" or "We" for the first character, then "Love" for the second character... the third I don't recall. What does it mean when added up?

CB Shin
That's right, American names can be translated by and only by, pronounciation. Chinese first names are usually made up of other words, but only ones that originate in China. My own Chinese name is Xu Tian Hong, which is "Sky Hawk Xu" in english. Xu is the family (last) name and the Tian Hong has the actual meaning. I have two seperate names actually. My english one is Charlie, but it has nothing to do with my Chinese name. sunyippee
CB Shin, you're right, one can have Chinese name that be foreign to his own English name. So, what I translate here is just the translation I can find in a Chinese-English dictionary~ In other words, if your English name is quoted in Chinese newspapers, it will be printed like that.~_^ The meaning is a literal translation only. ChibiHorsewoman, Megan is pronounced The literal interpretation is the root of wheat.:) Final Flash, Chen is her family name, and I'm sorry for that I dont know what Gee Kui means, because there're a lot of Chinese characters with the same pronunciation, of course, the different means, so I can't tell the meaning unless I see the characters. Terpischore, pretty name! is yours. The literal translation is "a jasmine in the sea". Pretty the same, isn't it? SasukeUchiha, the first character means "general" or "universal", the literal translation of the second is "thunder", the third is "this", and the last is "pause". And this whole name sounds lifefull. :whoops: Understandable?:toothy:

sunyippee
Hey... guys and gals, here is what you want! Arch, is yours. And it refers "outstanding" and "moral". Are you an outstanding and moral man?:D White Mage, we translate Stuart as . As you see, it is made up of four Chinese characters, and the first means "this", the second means "map", the third "you", and the last "unusual". Sounds mysterious! Isn't it? Leh, is yours for Zach. I'd like to translate it as "devoted" and "overcome". :) doukeshi03, yours here . The first character refers a capital of China in history, and the second means "tender girl".:tasty: Terpischore, a nice name also. Here is hers . The first character means "favourable" , and the second is "Bodhisattva", which is the merciful deity in Chinese religion! GreenEyedDragon, is the first name, well, I give you the meaning of every character. The first "second", the second "experience", the third "mountain", the fourth "moral" and the last "attract". And for the second name. This refers "silk".:) Dagger IX1, we translate Sarah as . The first character in this name refers "Bodhisattva", (the same as Terpischore's friend's ) which is the merciful deity in Chinese religion; and the second character means "pull" or "attract". Here is for Kim. The first character means "golden" and the second "lady". Ryoko T.D.C. , for you, is suitable. Let me translate it literally, the first "profound", the second "favourable", the third "preserve" and the last "second". And you know, this is translated by the pronunciation, so it is hard to say what this all means, I just interpreted it word for word. I cannot but hope that it is a satisfying interpretation. :wigout:

sunyippee
rttocs77, I dont know if I have misunderstanded you, and I comprehend the meaning as "Hey, what a confounded fool your motherland is!" If it is what you wanted to express for sure, here is my response: I shall be prouded as a CHINESE forever and ever. If I misunderstand you, I beg you to forgive me. White Mage, I'm sorry that I cannot give you the whole name's exact meaning, for that this is translated by the pronunciation, and I can just interpret it word for word, this four characters for you have no relations. So I can tell you nothing more than it sounds mysterious. Understandable?:babble:
