Anime Sonic X

HAs anyone seen the new Sonic show Sonic X? Its really cool,I haven't seen Knucles on it yet but Rouge the Bat was on there. I'm really looking foward to seeing Shadow on there.I love Shadow he's the best.If you've seen it tell your fav. character and why you like it.Its on Fox Box at 7:30 and 10:30 A.M. on Sunday.

Robotnik was the US name for the character. Dr. Eggman was the Japanese name for the character. When Sonic Adventure came out for the Dreamcast, Sega decided to just universalize the name and go with Eggman.

It's the same reason Princess Toadstool is now called Princess Peach here.

To be honest the series is just to horrendous for me. The poor voice cast, reused animations and predictable and episodic format of the series all adds up to diddly squat if you compare this to any other anime series... that includes DBZ =|. Really this is more of a childish anime and only [b]SUPER DIEHARD[/b] Sonic fans will enjoy this series for the first few episodes or so >_>''

First off, the series would be cool if someone else would beat Eggman instead of Sonic. And Swordmaster, Knuckels has appeared but he hasnt been shown for a while. he appears in episode 3. and shadow, he appears like in episode 60 i think, its the season where shadow takes the stage.

Like all 4Kids dubs, the English version is horrible. Not so much the editing this time around, because Sega is overviewing somewhat how this is dubbed, but the voice cast (As usual.).

But yet, the Japanese version of any Sonic anime I do not really enjoy too much either. I grew up on the American cartoons, like the original "Sonic the Hedgehog" series that came on ABC on the weekends (Otherwise known as SatAM to you fans familar with the Sonic internet community.) 1993-1995,and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog that came on ABC and USA. They were the first big cartoons I got obsessed about, not Mario, not TMNT, but Sonic. The storylines and especially the voices just aren't the same in the anime versions compared to the US cartoon. Jaleel White *cough Urkel from Family Matters*cough* had that high pitched and bragging voice I would expect a spiny, yet cute pincushion to have. Not an idiot with a weird accent that screams "Brit wannabe" like in the ADV OAV dubs or this guy who I consider to be overdoing the ego of Sonic a tad too much...

I'd say if you want well done Sonic that's not related to the games? Go read the comic book by Archie which is so much better.

[color=hotpink][size=1]I'd have to agree with you there. It seems that most anime dubbs are so silly because they have the same exact cast of voice actors for almost every anime they bring over to America and so the voices are very recycled and usually don't fit the character very well.

Me and my sisters used to be obsessed with the old Sonic cartoons. That was way back when, though. Now we just get crap on Saturday mornings like "Ultimate Muscle."[/color][/size]

Ultimate Muscles not that bad why are we trashing the muscle its funny in its own stupid way and I dont understand this dubbed thing whats wrong with dubs I dont know much about most anime ive lived on anime dubs on t.v. im only 14 can't get a job so I can't buy the dvds and compare the dub to original I plan to take Japanese so I wont need to listen to dubs anymore its a four course class at our school.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy English dubs. If they're well translated, edited, and have a proper cast that fits the characters. Rare combination there.

Now, I don't like Ultimate Muscle....well....because 4Kids hacked at the original storyline too much for me. I had known Ultimate Muscle as "Kinnikuman: Second Generations" or "Kinnikuman Nisei" back when it was on Toriyama's World's scanlation lineup. Read that manga (Not telling you how you can get it as it's been licensed now but not released in print...) then go watch 4Kids' version adaptation of the anime. :flaming: Their voice cast is subpar as well. They use the same actors over and over again or they borrow actors from other studios with the same type subpar actors such as Funimation (Like Sean Schemmel, who did Goku in DBZ is Amidamaru/Ryu aka Rio in the dub.). You can tell that like such and such character was Yugi from YGO or something quite easily, which isn't supposed to happen in character acting. As well as you're supposed to have a VA that actually sounds simlar to the Japanese Seiyuu.:confused:

And I'm 15,without a job also, and I can afford anime DVDs. Save up for them. Tis not that hard if you have patience.

I couldn't stand watching all the glitches and stuff, so I switched the characters' voices to Japanese. I liked the American series Sonic Underground. That was tight. Plus, I never liked how just one ring would power up Sonic so much. I'd prefer it if it was more like the SA2B where the rings are used for cash like it is in the Chao Black Market.

They should make a cartoon following the comics so people who missed out on all the good stuff from the comics were made in a show. Sonic is actually my favorite anime/ cartoon / what not. I think though that they need to create a serious show that could end up on Toonami instead of Fox Box because well, Foc Box shows are kind of crappy except for Ninja Turtles(I love that show).

Anyway, I like Sonic X simply to look at the characters. The plot, voices and music all annoy me rather intensely, but I find it even more enjoyable than the original series simply because characters like Tails aren't moronic no-brainers who constantly get into trouble and have to have Sonic help them out. But the animation of the Sonic crew I really like. Tails looks especially cute ^_^. But then I am biased towards foxes. Cream's never looked quite right in my opinion, possibly even more so in Sonic X than the games. But it's generally on at a time when I can never see it; I don't consider it that great a loss.

The music annoys me the most- I heard snippets of the Japanese theme and it sounded... alright, but the orchestral plays right the way through the dub and it is really dire. It annoys me when they can't even compose music for the right scene mood.

If you want a half-decent Sonic anime, watch the movie. It's not brilliant, but it's better than X.[/color]

What I would like to see is some of the characters from the Sega 'Sonic The Comic' y'know, Techno the canary, Johnny Lightfoot, Porker Lewis, Shortfuse the Cybernik. Naturally I'm overjoyed to see Chaotix appear in Sonic Heroes (Charmee, yay ^_^)

One thing annoys me about Sonic in general, why is Knuckles so damn stoopid!? He always falls for the same old trick about the emeralds! As a Knuckles fangirl I really must protest. :mad:

It was just called "Sonic the Hedgehog". Weird fact, but then again I'm sure a lot of people know this: Sonic was played by Jaleel White who played Steve Urkel on Family Matters.

I liked that Sonic cartoon, and I still read the Sonic comics from time to time, though I hate that Archie gave Knuckles, my favorite character, the shaft. Not only do they cancel his book and reduce him to having a crummy, ten-page backup in the Sonic books, but they kill him off and bring him back, powerless, after he had evolved beyond all Echidnas. Aye, yi, yi. I'm also hate the name Eggman and I hate his thinner appearance, though I wasn't too crazy about fat, stubby-legged Robotnik either. Why do Sega and Nintendo HAVE to change the American names after guys like me have grown up calling them Princess Toadstool and Dr. Robotnik our whole lives? Oh well.

As far as the Sonic X cartoon goes, I really don't like it. It's boring, IMO, and I've never been crazy about the gang interacting with humans (who weren't their enemies), or about the Amy/Sonic relationship (I've been desensitized by the comics were they are cousins and Sonic dates Sally).

I think that Sonic Underground was horrible. Adding two extra characters that did nothing for the Sonic liscense was one of the stupidest moves they could make, and the music/singing each episode was cringe-worthy. Those two helper guys of Eggman/Robotnik's were boring and had no carisma (at least Scratch and Grounder were interesting in TAoStH (The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog)) and the voices were painful to hear. I was a complete mockery of the Sonic liscense as a whole. That's just my opinion though.

I haven't had a chance to see Sonic X yet (as its not being shown in Australia yet), but I'll see if I can get ahold of some episodes so I can see how bad it is.
