Jokopoko
JOURNEY OF THE JEWELS An Elven RPG by Jokopoko and Arcadia This is the RPG thread for the RPG created by myself and Arcadia, first a quick run-through of those in the RPG and the characters they play. ------------------------Players & Characters Myself - Galdor Calafalas Arcadia - Inwë Helyanwë Nefertimon - Alvador Serren Vicky - Aranel K.K.C. - Orophin Melwasúl Lynx - Tathar Felagund We don't have many now but enough, for a note to those reading this but not a part of it the sign-ups will be open for a little while longer so please sign-up if you like the look of this RPG. ------------------------Places and Regions within Dôr Edhellen Aeglirmir Edhellen: This is the realm of the Jewel Elves and where all of their cities are located. The greatest mountain of this realm is Ithildin Orod which Othrondmir resides under and many of the jewels these Elves hold dear to them can be found, the two other great mountains are Faen Orod and Ninniach Orod, Ninniach Orod has many streams and underground rivers flowing through it and so has many ways in and out of the mountain and so is the main gateway into the Jewel Elves realm. Tauron Edhellen: The great forested realm of the Wood Elves and where they make their home, hidden from the eyes of the enemy. Esgaleryn is built within the great forest of Doltha Glad, 'The Hidden Forest' and contains some of the most beautiful trees upon Dôr Edhellen. Due to their nature of being hidden not much is know of the other forests except for Gwaeren Glad which is a windswept forest and so is harder to hide in and so the Wood Elves make this their realms point of entry. Golwen Edhellen: The home of the Star Elves in the high places of Dôr Edhellen but not build upon Aeglirmir Edhellen out of respect for their Jewel Elf friends. They great city of Minuial Amru is built upon Istoara Aegas along with many of their cities and is where the wisest of them reside. Along side Istoara Aegas is it's 'sister mountain' of Istodi Aegas where a great number of Star Elves make there home. Govad Ithilmir: This is the great meeting place of the Iaur Tirith which as formed by Galdor Calafalas and it's name in the common tounge is 'Beneath the Jeweled Moon' because it is also where Galdor and Inwë first meet each other and began their relatioship. This is where the group will meet each other for the first time and begin the journey to Malthen Aeglir by Calad Pendrath. ------------------------Right-e-ho, I think that covers most of what we need to know and of course some things will be revealed in the RPG as we go along so I can't tell you everything and please remember that when posting try and keep in lengthy and watch the spelling/grammer. ------------------------ So it begins... As Galdor made his way toward the place of meeting, or Govad Ithilmir, he could not get the last words of Alatariel as he had left Othrondmir for his journey to re-find Umdagnir. ------------------------ "We all rely on your strength, Galdor, should you and the others fail it will be the ruin of us all. You must find Umdagnir for all of Dôr Edhellen you must find it. You may go with my blessing and the blessings of all your Kin and may they guide you to victory". ------------------------ How had it come to this, that the fate of all Elven kind had found it's way into the hands of Galdor Calafalas, he did not know, but he did know that what she had said to him was very true and he must find the weapon forged to combat the enemy himself and protect all of the Elves re-guardless of their kin. He spurred his horse on to reach Govad Ithilmir in good time and prepare to tell the others what they had been summonded for. He thought again to the task ahead as he saw Govad Ithilmir in the distance, he could feel the steady thumping of his sword, Sila Hathol, against his leg as he continued down the road to his destiation. It felt good to have the re-assuring weight against his leg for he knew that he would need to use it many times in this coming journey not only for himself but for the others as well. Govad Ithilmir came into focus in all it's splendor as the combined efforts of all the races were shown. The flowers and tres grown by the most skilled of the Wood Elves alongside the glowing monuments of the Jewel Elves all built and placed within the mighty structure originally set down by the Star Elves to study the nightsky and come to understand it with a deeper clarity. He thought back to his mother and farther as he waited for the arival of the others. They would be proud to see what he had grown into and was about to do for all Elf-Kind. He wished he had their blessings along with that of the other Elves, but that could never be. He sat down upon the ground and said quietly to himself "Ed' i'ear ar' elenea" and awaited the arrival of the others to Govad Ithilmir.
Vicky
Aranel walked slowly along the path, to where he was asked to come. He didn't know why, but partly he had nothing better to do, so he decided to go there. Aranel would rather walk all the way, then travel on horse-back. As he walked along, he held his dagger in his left hand, and every now and then he would flip it in the air and catch it. He sighed heavily to himself and looked ahead. "I wonder how many will come, and for what reason..." Aranel mumbled to himself stopping. With this, he put his dagger back on his belt and contined forward. He kept his hand on his dagger, though, making sure it did not drop from his belt. As he continued onwards, he noticed something in the distance. Aranel laughed to himself. "All this walking paid off." He laughed. He knew it had to be Govad Ithilmir in the distance, unless he had taken a wrong somewhere, but in his case that was unlikely. Seeing Govad Ithilmir in the distance, Aranel decided to run the rest of the way there, since it would be much faster. As he ran, he jumped onto a nearby rock and gazed forward, he was much nearer now. "Seems someone has bet me too it," Aranel chuckled. He jumped off the rock and sped forward again, still keeping his hand on his dagger which banged on his knee. As he came much closer he could see the figure much better now. Aranel smiled, and came to a hault as he stopped just a few metres away from the elf who sat there.
Jokopoko
OOC: I know the post is short but I'm at school and I need to keep the post close to the top. ------------- While his eyes were still closed Galdor smirked slighty as he felt a familar presence of an Elf. "Ah, Aranel," He said opening an eye to focus on the Wood Elf, "Glad you could make it, are there any others of your kind that are coming here this day?" He stood up and looked Aranel in the face and, smiling, shook his hand in greeting. "Well meet, Galdor," Aranel replied, "I am unsure but I believe that Tathar will be joining us but I I do not know when" He replied after releasing his hand. He sat with him and the two began catching up with each other as it had been a long time since they had seen each other, to long to both of them and so the time passed and they awaited the others.
KKC
A soft breeze blew through the tree tops making the leaves and branches shudder. Orophin stirred slightly, he had decided to take a watch in the trees to make sure he wasn't being followed. He hadn't been tired, but the hypnotic brush of the wind had seemed to send him to sleep with in only a few minuets. Another gust of wind blew by, only a bit harder this time. Orophin blinked and adjusted his eyes to the brightness of the day. He gripped his right hand and noticed he was still clutching his bow that had a single arrow notched to it. Orophin stood quickly and glanced at the sky, it was almost mid day! He had slept longer than ment to. Orophin leaped from the tree and landed gracefully and quickly threw his bow over his shoulder and started to walk at a fairly quick pace down the narrow path. "Maybe I should have traveled with Galdor, I would have arrived at a perfect time then..." Orophin thought to himself as he made his way down the path. He wasn't too far from Govad Ithilmir, but he had wanted to be one of the first to arrive. Orophin quickly made his way up a steep hill and peered down at Govad Ithilmir. A smile slowly spread over his face as he saw two figures standing next to one another in the distance. At least he wasn't the last one. Orophin started at a trot down hill and sooon picked up speed until he had made it into a good paced run. Before he knew it he was only some feet away from Galdor and Aranel. Arcadia
OOC: Yeah, sorry for the lateness. I deserve to be shot or something. To the gallows!! As the veiled woman rode carefully down the mountain trail to Govad Ithilmir, the last of the gossamer strands of fog trailing behind her, a small, thin smile curved her lips up. It was a smile full of secrets - much like the fog that concealed her world behind her. Inwë Helyanwë turned to look back at the large shadow behind her, letting her hood fall back for the moment as she eyed the twisting path that she'd just come down. The whispy fog that had followed her down wasn't entirely natural, though it was completely normal. It acted as a sort of safeguard, and the Elenath Tawaraith were always a very cautious people. Gently clicking her tongue, whispering something quiet to the speckled stallion, she started forward once again, leaving Istoara Aegas to tower magestically behind her. She thought back to the small council that had been held in Minuial Amru, prior to her departure. The elders had made their goodbyes then, and imparted her with a few gifts and much to think about. The journey ahead would be a dangerous one, she knew. She could feel it in her bones; they all did. But it was one that had to be made, and Inwë hadn't studied and planned and trained all those long years for nothing. However that wasn't - and never really had been - a concern of the elders. They knew Inwë, like a mother knows her child. Instead, their thoughts and fears were focused on the others that she would be traveling with. "Don't let them forget," they told her, quiet but fervent. "Push and pull as you will, child of the stars, for the strength is in you. But do not forget!" The elves in Dôr Edhellen had been much lighter in comparison with the sages who resided in the secretive mountain city. She reflected on their goodbyes, and the trust and determination they had shown. They gave her a different sort of strength, and Inwë only hoped that she could in time return that to them. Grunting softly, the stallion (known to her as Elensar) beneath her shook its mane out and whinnied his disapproval at the fog, which was now many paces behind them. Inwë smiled slowly once again, scratching Elensar's neck gently. "Spoiled," she murmured affectionately, and then began to whistle. Her tune was a hauntingly beautiful one, sad and wistful. Elensar breathed deeply, calmed. Soon, now, she thought to herself, closing her eyes. The stones of Govad Ithilmir will appear, wise and tall as they have always been. Sure enough, the dirt and weeds beneath Elensar gave way to stone and pillars began to rise up as he and his mistress continued down around the bend. The first few stones were small, faces sitting parallel to one another from across the path. They grew in size steadily, however, forming elegant arches overhead. Slowly, the hard ground beneath them turned into a soft, spiraling stone staircase and Inwë paused then, pulling back lightly on the reins. She dismounted then, and walked the rest of the way down, Elensar close behind. The stairs were decorated with jewels and ancient spells, so that despite the twinkling of each precious gem in the full light of day or the glistening night sky, the staircase remained unseen to those who did not know how to see it properly. Eventually it took leveled out and Inwë and Elensar found themselves on sturdy ground again, but this time, they were not alone. She remained quiet, watching the three elves some odd number of yards before her for a few moments. Elensar snorted impatiently, earning a quiet smile from the star elf, and the sudden attention of those before her. "Merry meet, friends," she said quietly, bowing her head. "I trust your journeys to Govad Ithilmir all went well?"
Gavin
As the other's spoke at the front door of the meeting place known as Govad Ithilmir, where the council of the Iaur Tirith met Tathr was already inside and awaiting them. He would all too soon become Lord of Sacred Wood of Esgaleryn hidden deep within the great forest of Doltha Glad but such things were trivial in comparison to the threats they faced here and now. He rose from his seat and made his way down to the entrance where he would greet his fellw concil members. Tathar: Greeting friends, may we begin our meeting soon for I we have important issues that require discussion. The group turned around and faced Tathar while Galdor joked about how he should have expected Tathar to have been the first here by a long margin. The group entered and began the trip up the long stairs while discussing the ongoings of their own lands and cities. Before too long they had reached the top of the tower and the room where the meeting would be held as always, each sat in their respective places and the meeting was begun. Galdor: Has everyone who is to attend arrived yet ? Tathar: I believe that Alvador Serrin of the Elenath Tawaraith has yet to reach us, therefore it would not be prudent to begin discussions of what we are to do without her. Inwë: Tathar is correct, such a thing wouldn't be prudent nor respectful to Alvador. And so with this conversation among the various members broke out about home and prospects of the future. Tathar began a conversation with Aranel about his forth coming ascention to the throne of Tauron Edhellen, Tathar replied that while he was still as always ready to take up the mantel of the Forest he still felt as though he could learn more to be of benefit to their people and to expand relations with the other Elves. Aranel responded saying that she thought Tathar would make an excellent replacement to his father and do both him and the Taur Tawarwaith proud.
Imp
It was a foggy day in the twin peaks of Golwen Edhellen. Ava wandered around at the base of the mountains, talking to some jewel elves in Aeglirmir Edhellen, which was close by. "And then there's a mysterious force in the forests of Tauron Edhellen, still to be discovered in the swamp region. We shall find it someday, but that's beside my point. I better get going now. Good day to you all!" And with that, Ava headed over to Golvad Ithilmir, where she was supposed to meet the others. As she passed by, some strange creatures passed her by; they looked a lot like crosses between gnomes and elves, except uglier, and they smelled like sludge. Ava had a tendency to pass them by, but instead, ignoring the smell, she bent down and said hello to them. The creatures just looked at her and began talking in some nonsense language Ava couldn't understand. "Why, who are you fellows?" Ava asked, not sensing the slightest bit of evil in the creatures. "I wish not to harm you; I just wish to know more about you and why you are here." At this the creatures growled and bared their rotten yellow teeth. Ava flinched, then spoke again. "There's no need to be afraid, but if you want me to leave, I will," Ava said and started to walk away. The creatures quickly calmed down. "Interesting..." Ava thought. Then she saw a small town... "There it is. The land of Golvad Ithilmir. My quest begins here. I feel like something big is about to happen..." Ava walked through town and saw a group of elves that were planning a meeting. "Oh darn I'm late," she thought. All five of them were there: Galdor, Inwe, Aranel, Orophin, Tathar. Hiding her embarrassment and staying calm, Ava joined the group and sat down. "You're late," Galdor muttered. "Yes, I know," Ava commented. "I was just talking to some of the Jewel Elves about the rare incidents in the forests of Tauron Edhellen... Did you hear about that?" And after the group gossipped for a while, they got to the point. "All right," Galdor declared. "Now that everyone's here," he sid as he looked around, "let's start this meeting!"
