It really hasn't been spoken about around here, the boards I mean, just wondering, does anybody like it? I know the dub sucks, but the undubbed english version is really spiffy. It's a great anime, though it's never mensioned...

That dub will go down in history as the WORST DUB EVER. But the origional is wonderful. I like how there's all these wierd relationship things going on. It makes me laugh. My favourite coupling is definently Yuki + Toya though. ^^ Like in the episode "Two Sakuras" when Sakura walks in and sees Yuki cutting Toya's hair, that was so cute! ^^

Yeah, I like that show.

I've had no access to the undubbed version, but the English is all right. Is it just me or do all English version dubbers screw up the animes? Everyone says the Japanese version is better. This happens so much in Digimon as well.
The thing about english dub is that they over act the voices and so, they don´t sound very real.
The japanesse versions of anime will always be better becouse they are done for that language.
And card captor Sakura was a nice series.

The dub is sad, when the Japanese version is about a half hour long, they end up cutting more than half of it out... :(
Yeah, it is sad. I mean, I looked at the dub official site, and what's their excuse for starting on episode 9? Well now, according to Nelvana, they starting episode 1 as the japanese episode 9, and dubbed ep 2 as japanese ep12 becuase according to a poll taken by the 'customers', everyone wanted to see more of Li, so they just chopped out all those first parts. Oh, that's all right. We really didn't need to know how Sakura met Kero, how she caught fly and all those other cards, or where the heck Sakura got the clow cards and got into being a cardcaptor. Don't mind us, the REAL viewers who don't need stupid little morals tacked onto every episode, or the viewers who will actually be able to sit through a show with a story line, not simply action. So I just want to thanks Nelvana for absolutely killing CCS for the English viewers.

*cough* Whoo! Sorry about that, just had it in me an awful long time, and I just had to type it out. ^^:blulaugh:

CCS was dubbed so that small American children could watch it without their parents freaking out at all of the same sex relationships. That's why the sub is so cute, because all that's not edited out. I like the English version though because it's just right for my little sister to watch. I don't want her to be influenced by the subbed Tomoyo/Sakura relationship and grow up and yeah...I mean no offense against people who are like that, but you get my idea.

Yeah, I guess they both do have their strong points. The English version is cute, because it's so kid friendly, and I have a little brother, too. So at least I like 1 show that has no perverted parts to it. It's good for when I babysit, I can let the kids watch it without worrying about their parents getting upset. But really, people should stop trying so hard to make all anime for little kids. Because the truth is, anime isn't for little kids, and they should leave it that way. But it is nice for some anime to be for kids, so they could maybe get into it while they're young. I remember watching Sailormoon when I was in second grade with my Korean friend. When I got CN a few years ago, I saw sailormoon and it was like, hey! I remember this! And that's how it all started.....lol Geez, I'm like contradicting myself left and right...^^:therock:

Well of course anime wasn't made for kids, but then they've run out of their own ideas, so they just edit the other people's stuff and dub it and there you go, instant child cartoon. I personally think they should break out the oldschool cartoons that I used to watch when I was really young. I used to watch SM WAY before it got popular in the US. Those were the good ol days...

I have not see the english version, but i say it must be very bad if they cut out all the first episodes.
Card Captor is for kids so the dub should be cute. And i agree that most parts must be cut for small chlidrent to watch like, the tomoyo-sakura relatinship and the yukito- sakura´s brother relationship, becouse they can confouse their minds out

Li is not the cutest guy on CCS. It's Touya. He's awesome and he's a high schooler and he rules the world and YEAH! And his dubbed name is Tori, and that's my name and I love it! *grins*
You're so right. Toya rules, but Li is cute, too. And why does everyone love Yukito? I hate yukito! Yuki's so....so....ack. I just don't like him. He's too happy all the time. I'm not sure, but I think the original version, if you're looking in movie stores, is only on DVD. At least, that's the only way I've seen it. You could always order it off amazon or something....

amiboshi, i agree. i don't see how there is ANYWAY someone can like yukito. i can see how someone can like yue(even though i personally don't like him) but i just don't get how someone can like yukito! oh well, that's my opinion....
Yeah, Yue's kinda cool. ....if only his hair was shorter.....^^ But then he changes back into Yukito....and....:nervous: ^^

I like the subtitled version, but I was a little freaked out when I realized that it was Yuki and Toya, and that Li had a crush on Yuki. It bumbed me out a bit because I expected it to be Li and Sakura or Sakura and Yuki. but I like it.

the sub is so CUTE!! I love Tomoyo's voice! the Yuki/Touya thing doesn't bother me much. the dub is awful though. I'd rather not see ANY of CCS than see nothing but the dubbed version. okay, so maybe I'm overreacting a bit, but that's just how much I hate the dubbed version after seeing it subtitled.

I like Yue, but not Yukito...some anime guys look really good with long hair..not Nakago..ack he's so uncute...but yeah, Toya is still the BESTEST! *grins and huggles a Toya plushie* :D

And STEPH...nice comment about Elijah Baggins, but LEGOLAS BLOOM WILL ALWAYS BEEN NUMBER 1 NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!! Just had to get that off my chest...and Anna likes Elijah anyway..if she tried to make a move on my Legolas..*slides her finger across her throat*
and that my friend is the magic of anime...
HAHAHAHA!! That's kinda true..

But I think the "best" things about the dubbed versions are..the graphics :p and the season 2 song, the dubbed stuff seriously sucks..
