When I first saw the American series, I thought it was okay until I found out about the dvds, of course. I gotta say, tho, the movies were definitely interesting. I especially liked the ending of the second movie. (The Sealed Card, I think) Altho, it only came out not too long ago, so that probably means the third movie isn't coming out until for another long whie, right? Is there even a third movie? My friend told me there was, but none of the sites I've checked out says anything about it.
Yes, I agree with you that the english version was alright (just kidding I love the english verison, I guess it's because I saw the english version first, and then last year I got all 18 volumes of cardcaptor sakura(sub version). I finish watching the last volume two days and I have to say that I love the sub verison much better than the english version by a long shot because the sub version show you how sakura captures all 52 cards in more detail episodes, all of sakura and kero's battle outfits which I think all there outfits are sooooooooo cute! I just love the japaness dub. Last the sub version show more love/crushes between
Li and sakura, sakura and yuki, tomoyo and sakura, and yuki/yue and toya, Li and yuki.
The english version didin't show how sakura capture all 52 clow cards, the episodes I saw were all edited, it didn't any signs that Li had feeling for sakura and I think the english dub eas alright.(not till the second movie!) I seen both movies, I love both movies very much and I like the english dub a little bit but I love sub dub much better. I think, but I'm not sure that there won't be a third movie because won't clamp have to make a 3rd season to cardcaptor sakura? (this is in my opinion) Also I suggest you to watch the sub version it's twice as better than the english version.(again this is in opinion) :)
ive herd a rumour that there going to do another series of the fabulous cardcaptors only sakura and madison are older 15 to be right anyway what do all the other cc fans out there think about this let me no
I think there won't be abother series of Cardcaptor Sakura, but if there is I will be watching it because:love: I love the Cardcaptor Sakura sub verision(japaness voices and uncut). It's one of my all time favorite anime, I love all the characters, how they were beautifully drawn by Clamp, and I think their japaness voices fits the character better than the english verision.(in my opinion)

To answer your question, I know that there is this new manga that came out a while ago called "Tsubasa,Reservoir Chronicle" it is a alternate reality to Cardcaptor Sakura, but the character from Cardcptor Sakura and other clamp characters are in this manga, but they play different roles
(Sakura is a princess, Touya is the king, Shaoran is the main character and the rest I forgot)
. I haven't read it yet, but I really want to read it. :(

If you have any questions PM(private message) me and I will be glad to answer your questions, so don't be shy. :)

Oh, how I love Sakura's costumes. ^_^

I promised myself I'd start buying Cardcaptor Sakura before the end of the year... I guess I made it just in time, haha. In any case, now I'm kicking myself for not leaping on this series sooner. It's beautiful. As I watched the first few episodes, I could not believe that Cardcaptor Sakura is a television series, much less one made in 1998! The production values are really something else; I've never felt much nostalgia for the age of cel animation, but CCS's visuals are so lovely and smooth that I do wish recent shows could look this good.

As for everything else--thus far it's just nice and cute (without being annoyingly precious). I can't say I care for Megumi Ogata's "Yukito" voice, which is yet another reason I wish CCS had a quality dub, but oh well. However, I can live with the fact that this anime is going to cost me a lot, because it rocks. For some reason, I've been having a hard time finding good, old-fashioned (to use the term very loosely, haha) shoujo mahou shoujo series. I'm still vaguely perturbed by the concept of shounen mahou shoujo becoming a genre unto itself. ^_^;

Okay!!! ^_^ Hey!! A CCS Thread. Hee hee. Okay, don't do business.
Q: Does anyone know what episode contains the following events?
~Sakura runs out onto a balcony while the snow is falling.
~Sakura and Li go to the movies.

They're separate episodes, but I'm obsessed with the series and can't find which episodes those are. ^_^ They look absolutely adorable. And if there's anything else about CCS you wanna discuss, I'd love to hear about it!! Pleasant waves.

I love Card Captor Sakura! :animesmil The outfits are beautiful! I love the way CLAMP does that with all their girl characters! I used to watch the dub on WB when I was younger (about six, when Pokemon was real popular) and loved it. I did some fanart and was gonna send it to Toonami: Midnight Run when they played it and were accepting fanart, but A.) I lost it B.) they stopped playing it...
I need to buy the rest of the manga...

I'm glad this thread was revived. I recently started in on CCS again after a long hiatus (looking at the date of my last post, it must have been around a year!), and I'm close to finally finishing the first season. I ordered the rest of the show and the two movies as well, so hopefully it won't be more than a couple of weeks before I can dive into the second & third seasons.

A quick question about viewing order (sorry if this was answered earlier in the thread, heh). The first movie is supposed to come after episode 35, no?

Although CCS has been aired and finished years ago, it's still a part of me as one of the first animes I've ever watched (even if it was a dub). I've never watched the Japanese CCS though :animecry: ...but with what I know of the dubbed CCS, I found Sakura cute, but not very smart. :animeswea My friends had a huge crush on Shaoran/Syaoran, however you spell it. We were all crazy whenever it was on air, my friends constantly wrote CCS fanfiction, and we'd bug our parents crazy just to get the movie! CCS gives me those good fuzzy memories~

CCS has moved on, hasn't it? The fans have all transcended to new Clamp series with the same characters: TSUBASA RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and xxxHOLiC. Ah, I just miss CCS...I'm not even all that interested in the newer Clamp series as I was to CCS.

I've been watching Cardcaptor Sakura (the subtitled version of course) and I'm currently I'm up to episode 49, so I'm just starting on the second story arc. When I first started watching the series, after stumbling on an AMV and then the first episode on YouTube, I didn't expect to like it near as much as I do. It seemed really cheesy at first but it had a certain charm that kept me watching.

Sakura is, of course, incredibly cute. But, more than that, I really enjoy the range of thought and emotion that the series displays through facial expressions and body language. Plenty of series have made me laugh because of the art but CCS does it a lot more often. Even if the dialogue isn't expecially funny, the characters' reactions are always great.

The story isn't half bad when things actually start happening, either. I like the way you get to see a little more and a little more of Sakura's dream all through the first story arc. Though the two series are completely different, it reminded me of Noir and Mireille's flashback, which I also really enjoyed. The plot wasn't terribly complex or hard to predict but piecing things together bit by bit at least kept it interesting.

i love ccs! it's so awesomeful! *squeals* tho i hate the fact that everyone thinks that tomoyo and sakura are gay (along w/toya and yukito). they're not gay! not! not! u love ur sister right? u love ur brother, right? well that's the same kind of love that ccs illustrates. and i think u have to realize that. the world today simply thinks everytime someone says "i love u" means that they mean it that they. so that just makes me kinda mad. i really liked the second movie, it's so adorable! i love the whole sakuraxli relationship, it's so cute! i mean, doesn't it make u feel fuzzy inside when u read the last page of the series when they say "we'll be together forever"? it's so cute!!!
hieiluver92 please improve your posts. In response to the last post, some of the relationships in CCS are genuine love and not just close brotherly/sisterly love. Of course there are close sibling like relationships in the show there are some that go a bit further, even if you do have to constantly speculate about them.
Also I agree with you that the Sakura/Li relationship is so cute!! The last scene in the second movie gets me every time.
