Dagger
Here's the latest product of my procrastination: a new banner featuring Arcueid, one of my favorite characters from the anime Shingetsutan Tsukihime. It took a while before I was satisfied with the bloodstains, but overall I feel rather good about this piece. I may, in fact, end up using the banner myself, but I think I'll wait to see if you have any suggestions. ^_^ ~Dagger~
Godelsensei
WOOT!! Shingetsutan Tsukihime! Yay! I love that show.^^ Heehee, Arcueid is just so cool. Awesome banner--I love the drippy, grotesque-ish blood effect. It's so...*her*. Heheh...blood...^_^ That's a good picture of her, with her creepy smile...*shudders* Good job! Hittokiri Zero
The text in the background needs to be a tad bit thinner and the blood stains could use some work. Use some of the brushes found on this site ---> http://veredgf.fredfarm.com/vbrush/main.html you should be able to find some bloody brushes there if i wasn't doing my homework right now i could provide you with the direct link but that should do x___X. Also another thing to fool with is when or even if you don't redo the bloodstains is try dragging the burn tool over different spots and what not to get a different feel for the image, the smudge tool is also a good way to make blood smears. One last thing which I like doing but only works sometimes is to take the color dodge tool hit it up to highlights and go over the anime characters eyes, it usually gives a bright yet cool looking glow effect =). The Mac Attack
This is an excellent banner. You have created a balance well with the character on the left and the text on the right. You have also worked well around a need for a border with the slight hinting of black around the edges. The background imagery is not overly distracting either with the horozontal line effect used subtly (a rare occurence on many banners). The banner itself is not so distracting either which is a plus in my books. Some banners tend to catch the eye of the viewers, taking them away from the written posts. The only thing I can't judge on, is your relevance to subject matter, as I have not seen this anime. Perhaps someone else can help you in this area. On the whole though, well done Dagger IX1.
