Farto the Magic
With a slight flash, a YT-1300 transport pulls out of hyperspace. The name on the side indicates that this is the Undying Wind, a ship lent to you by the New Republic. It?s current color is red, which has obviously been its color for a while, judging from the rust build-up. It pulls into the atmosphere of Korriban, a gray, lifeless planet. The rodian pilot gives a little cry of surprise as the ship comes down a little faster than usual. He takes the ship down in a wide canyon. Beyond that, you can see large, empty cities made of bedrock. As the ship lands, you all feel the planet?s famed heavy gravity. You leave the ship one-by-one and feel your morale slipping away. The landscape is completely gray. There are no plants, aside from a few distorted trees. No ships are seen, not even broken ones. All your gear feels twice as heavy and the ship bows a bit. You look at the landscape and realize that there are no animals. The cities that loom in the distant are dark and gray, though they look like they could still have people there. As you stand there, you realize that this is not a landing pad, road or even natural. You are standing in a massive graveyard, nearly covered in dust? Xander Harris
Rylon Ortega walks along the path with confidence, but his eyes dart around searching for anything out of the ordinary. His hand rests easily on his blaster, and whenever the group pauses he crouches to the ground in a combat stance. He keeps an eye on Owejo Rihom. There is something not right about that one, but Rylon cannot put his finger on it. Just in case, and also to pass the time, he runs over varius strategies for killing Owejo. After about a half hour of walking, he has come up with over a dozen. After that, in the spirit of fair play, he starts to think of ways to bump off the other Jedi. You never can be too careful around Force users....

Flo
"I have no idea Tarpal".Tara said with her eyes closed she then opened them and looked at the gungan and smiled. "Tara what are you doing here"? "I'm here on bussiness and what bussiness dose a gungan have here"? "I'm part of the crew". "Oh well why don't you stick with me for the will beings until we find out what to do". "Sure this place is much different from my home it is not fertile and there are not any trees". Farto the Magic
Kelko laughed slightly, upon hearing the jedi's words. 'Every place is different.' That's an understatement! He thought of his home on rodia. The thick, humid air. The snarls of beasts mixed with the sounds of industry. His reality was suddenly shattered when he realized that he was not ON rodia. He was somewhere different. Somewhere disturbingly depressing. The zabrak was suspicious and the gungan naive. The jedi was kind. The others hadn't said a word yet. That wasn't good. He shouldn't be here. Jedi are overrated. They should've bombed the place, but the jedi insisted on sending a strike-team. The jedi are foolish. They believe in some force that does stuff for them. It sounded like they're just lazy. He'd seen and heard of the jedi parlor tricks, but didn't believe them. ______________________ There might be other people jumping in, ok? Like people that just signed in. I was originally hoping for five, but I got more. That's good. Just so you know...
the The Boy
Jayne walked up behind Kelko and put his hand on the Rodians shoulder . ? Hey Kel. Are you sure we should be here? I mean if even onea those stories we heard about this place are true we?re not geten? paid near enough, specially if it?s the one bought a monster that can kill those jedi like that.? He finished snapping his fingers with the last word. Kelko turned to Jayne, the mercenary was almost never worried but he did trust folk tales a bit to much. Farto the Magic
He looked at the strong man. The rodian gave a quick smile and attempted to appeal to his greed. "If the stories are correct though, there's enough treasure here to buy a damn fleet! Do you know what we could do with all that? Set for life. I could almost buy a planet. Besides, this place is lifeless. What kind of creature doesn't need to eat? There ain't no one alive to eat anyway." Kelko tried to stray behind the others a bit. "Seriously, don't listen to them stories. People make up crap about depressing stuff like this. It ain't true."
the The Boy
?A planet uh?? A smile spread over his face. ?I guess that would be nice. But?? His smile faded a bit ?I feel like I?m being watched. And I wouldn?t trust anybody else, that zabrak Ortega acts like a dam hitman and those jedi work for the republic, and no leader wants people like us ta succeed, learned that back on Bespin. You go up ahead, me and Vera?ll make sure no one jumps us.?
Farto the Magic
(OOC:Who's Vera?) Kelko stopped and looked at the human. Jayne must have thought he was stupid. Talk of treasure and now he wants to go 'make sure no one jumps us.' The rodian didn't smile. "Do you think that i'm that stupid? More importantly, are you that stupid? You want to go out on a strange planet damn near alone and make a perimeter? There are still dark jedis here. They ain't gonna leave a guy like you alive very long. Besides, they coulda brought some kinda mean animal to kill us." He heard an echoing screech behind a massive dune of gray sand. Kelko looked back at the mercenary. "Maybe you should go and check it out. It couldn't hurt. You, take a comlink along and keep it on." He handed Jayne an old comlink.

I mentioned it in my sign ups, For a more detailed description go and buy the Firefly DVD now.[/Shameless plug]) ?Oh so now ya want me to check things out, well ok.? He took the comlink from Kelko ?Testing 1,2,3 testing. Can you read me Kel?? The Rodian stared at him for a second before answering. ?Of course Jayne your right here.? ?Good Capin, I can hear you fine.? ?That?s because I?m right next to you.? ?Oh. Uhhh well, I?ll just check behind that hill then.? Jayne set off at a jog up the hill and upon reaching the top saw a?.. (OOC. What is behind the hill exactly? Farto the Magic
(Ok, I wasn't sure if Vera was a generic crew member or what. This is going to be corny.) Massive Ackley with a steel band around it's neck. (Ackleys are those preying mantis things from Episode II.) It turns it's head to see what's there. It scans the horizan for a trace of food. It brings it's head up and rears on it's hind legs to see if there is anything edible. It's head goes up and down slightly and it begins to move in the direction of the group. It crouches down and begins to the dune. The comlink crackles and a voice is heard. It is not a known voice. It is low and hissing. "Have you found the jedi yet? We've found their ship, but they are nowhere to be found. I have sent the beast to track them down and destroy them. Fresh from geonosis it is..." The voice is interrupted by a new voice. A familiar voice. "Jayne, you there? Now can you hear me? Ha ha ha! Seriously though, can you?"
Guest phattmasterdj
"Ahggggrrraahhhhhag," the wookiie Doblar screeched. "What in the hell are you saying?" Kelko asked "Ahggrrraahhhhaghraaa," Doblar said again, pointing at one of the towns. "I think he's trying to tell us about strange figure that's coming. "Ahgggggha," Doblar nodded. Doblar flexed his massive arms as he glared at what was to come. He is no stranger to dangerous situations, and knew exactly how to handle them. Most people extremely underestimate his intelligence. He still gets confused faster then most, but as far as wookiie's go, he is a genius. Psht" Come in, Jayne to Kelko, do you read, "psht went the comlink. Psht " I'm here, what is making that noise, we need you up here fast," psht Kelko replied. Psht ?I?m getting over there as soon as I can, this thing is fricken scary," psht Jayne came back. the The Boy
Jayne pressed down the button on his comlink ? I ran into a little snag here Kel. Better tell everybody to get their weapons, this might attract some attention.? Before Kelko could respond Jayne dropped to one knee and took aim at the Ackley, witch had seen him and was now in a full run, and fired off three rounds at the thing, it reared up and the bullets struck it?s underbelly, cracking the plate but mostly just getting the thing mad. ? Ohh shit!? Jayne cursed as he got up and started running back to the others, firing behind him as he went but the Ackley was weaving back and forth now so most of the shots went wild. Edit(OOC. sorry phattmasterdj I was writing when you posted and didn't see what you said until afterwards.)
Farto the Magic
Kelko drew his blaster and spoke into the comlink. "What the hell are you talking about?!" The only answer he received was a shrill, vibrating screech. The color drained from the rodian's face. "Get your weapons! The thing is going to be huge!" Jayne burst up the top of the hill, taking shots at the beast. Then the ackley emerged. It was nearly twenty feet tall and covered with a dark green carapace. (Shell.) Kelko got to his knees and took careful aim. Rodians were famed for their accuracy. He took a shot... It missed by about four feet. RODIANS were famed for accuracy. Not Kelko. Xander Harris
(OOC: Firefly rocked the world. Whoever pulled the plug on itis an idiot :flaming: ) Rylon looks at the creature in awe. "I've got to get a tattoo of one of those things," he mutters to himself, then blasts off one of the creature's legs with his plasma rifle. the The Boy
(OOC. Yes I can?t argue with you there. They canned it just when the characters interactions where really fleshing out.) Jayne saw Rylon?s plasma bolt streak by him and incinerate one of the beast?s front legs. The beast stumbled a bit and gave Jayne the time he needed to get to the bottom of the hill before it recovered. Taking a cue from his ally the mercenary hefted Vera and fired a half dozen rounds at the creatures remaining front leg. The first shots cracked the exoskeleton and the rest went clear through the leg causing the Ackley to collapse under the weight, vainly up with it?s remaining limbs and letting out an enraged shriek. Jayne turned to Ortega and said ?that was a pretty good plan, blowing the things legs off and all.?
Farto the Magic
(Meanwhile. You don't know this is happening.) Sith Lord Jaburie Matano looked out the window of a building. He was on the fourth floor looking down at the fools trying to kill his prized ackley about half a mile away. If they could do it, they'd be rich in the gladiator business. His black cloak kept his whole body hidden. One of his students stepped closer to get a better view. The sith lord cocked his head to one side and spoke. "Why do the rest of you not advance, though you want to." The class remained silent. The one student went back into the crowd of students. Jaburie turned and beckoned for the student to come forth. It was a young boy, probably about eight or nine. He kneeled before the sith lord's power. "Tell me my child...why do you fear me?" The child remained silent. Then spoke up. "Because you are powerful." The sith lord laughed quietly. "You felt as though you were better than the rest of the students. You felt that you were closer to my ability than they are. For that, you will be punished." He picked the child up and brought him to one of the older students. The older student smiled. Jaburie spoke to the other sith. "Feed him to my nexu. It hasn't had a meal in a few days and is very hungry." The child's fear filled the room like water. The sith lord breathed the fear. It was intoxicating. Like a warm bath or a good meal, but better. The child was carried away, screaming...
AnonymousSource
Tarpal stared at the fell mantis beeing... "Do tell... what is that thing again?" Tarpal sat cross-leged in the sand Jayne looked at him with one eyebrow cocked to the side, then looked back to the flailing mantis, "Um... an Ackley!" though he did not say it aloud, it was obvious what he was thinking, How could one being remain so oblivious to the danger right in front of them, and not even know what they were facing? "Fascinating!" Tarpal grinned... "May I take a shot at him, now that he's down?" Rylon looked at what he had for weapons... and then chuckled. "Go for it Skinny! If your little sticks can do anything!" "Thank you sir," He stood up and bowed to the man... Then took off at top speed. He leapt into the air, the extreme heat causing sweat drops to form, the Shamen raised his staff and brought it down upon the monster's head. The crew looked on in amazement, as Tarpel drew one arrow and his short bow, the mantis wasn't seeing strait, having a concussion, as well as an extreme headache... and Tarpel lept many feet into the air, drawing a dead bead on the back of the Ackley's throat. The arrow flew with such speed and precision... as if it was an old fasioned gun shot... and planted itself directly in and through the throat. He landed to the side and watched as the mantis choked, gasped... and died... "I would much like to have my arrow back," He turned to the nearest Jedi, "Would you please sever the head so I may retain it? For I am now one short of 16... and there seems to be no more sticks in sight..." ------------------------------------------------------ Heh... technology...pssh! AnonymousSource
(Should I? I think I shall!:D) ------------------------------------------------------------ Jayne turned and reloaded, as one of the two Jedis walked over and removed the head, handing the arrow to Tarpal, "Excuse me... but aside from the burst of speed, I used no Force!" He grinned seemingly careless... "By the way, my hearing is far well, and on that matter, what is this... as you say Ran-cor?" He sounded through the strange new word as he cleaned his arrow off in the dirt and on his robe... Looking up only to see Jayne's face as he stared on in disbelief... "Well?..." The gungan skipped on up to his side... much intent on hearing what this being was.
Xander Harris
Rylon glared at the gungan. "Rancor is when a member of a strike force keeps wasting time asking stupid questions, and another member of the team gets really angry and shoves a lightsaber up his...." The jedi who had taken the arrow off the Ackley placed his (her?) hand on Rylon's shoulder. "Dissension never helped anyone. Come now, we must be going" "Fine." As the group continued on, Rylon moved toward Jayne. "the dark side is strong in this place." He muttered. Worlds like this do strange things to Jedi. If one of them gets out of line, immediate action will need to be taken. Can I count on you if that happens?"
the The Boy
Jayne thought about this for a minute. ?Ha! Dark side my #$@. I don?t believe in the force buddy. Wouldn?t surprise me if them jedi were cyborgs or genetic tests er somethin?. Honestly I trust you least, but if I needed to I?d shot everyone here without batin an eye. So I guess yer answer?s yes.? After finishing what he had to say Jayne dropped back a bit until he was near Kelko. ?Kelko, I didn?t tell you sooner cause of that ruckus back there but I heard something real unsettlin? back on that hill. ?The dark jedi know we?re here. They found the ship an? that?s why they sent that oversized bug out here. What should we do??
AnonymousSource
Tarpal overheard Rylon and Jayne, and he agreed with one thing... The evil powers were strong here, and the "Dark Jedi," were likely to be watching them at this very moment. They walked through the graveyard that is Korriban... The group of warriors appeared quite strange to anyone who was watching... which was highly unlikely, being in the middle of nowhere... in every literal sense! The group ranged from Wookies to Gungans to washed up soldiers... it never ceased to amaze Tarpal how the republic could get such strange people into one place for such circumstances... Tarpal sensed they were going the right way, since the strength of the dark "force" as these people called it was getting stronger (up until recently, he thought he was special, being just a very powerful "Shamen"). "I do believe we are getting closer to something... what is a good question..." Tarpel sighed, staying serene as usual, but yet feeling a tingle of fear... Flo
"Tarpel is there something wrong".Tara asked. "The dark jedi are onto us".The gungan repiled. "Are you sure I don't since anything." "Well I heard it". "Can't trust every you hear"Tara slowed down her pace and soon was at the back of the group and opened her sinces her hand on her saber. She looked around but keep up with the group.
