Minako
I am quite a Disney-freak, for lack of a better term, and I was wondering, are there any other Disney-freaks out there? To make this interesting, please put your favorite Disney movie (if any) and say why it's your favorite. I have several favorites : Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Newsies. I like Lion King because it has beautiful art and has a moving message. I like Finding Nemo because it has great cg's and a great message also. Also, I like Newsies because there are hott guys ;) and there are great songs.
RogueA007
Hah, another Disney freak here. Shame what's happening to the Disney Company as of late due to *cough*Michael Eisner*cough*. My favorites: Lion King: The movie that made me want to pursue animation as a hopeful career, and until lately, work at Disney Feature Animation (Until they started laying people off......now, nope, will go someplace else.). Great story too. I saw it like 5 times when I was a kid, and have plenty of merchandise on it. XD And those people who complain about it being a ripoff of Kimba, yes, that's true, but stop putting it down just because of that. It's great in it's own aspect too. Who Framed Roger Rabbit: The combination of animation/live action of course. Too bad it's getting slammed again by Gary Wolf (The author of the Roger Rabbit book.) Aladdin: Robin Williams was awesome in that movie. Also I love any characters that were animated by the great Andreas Deja, and he did Jafar in this movie (He also did Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and Scar in Lion King.). TRON: Cult classic. The computer animation is ancient but at the same time kinda intriguing to think about an age where I didn't exist in. >_>
terra
Ahh, Who Framed Roger Rabbit totally freaked me out. I was pretty young when I watched it, and I've never done well with movies that are even remotely scary ... but that one definitely gave me nightmares for a while. I'm not sure why, I think it was that green stuff in the vats. And it just didn't strike me as a very nice movie. Anyway, Lion King is probably still at the top of my list, the songs, story, emotions, etc. etc. And that's one I've rewatched and still love. (I saw Beauty and the Beast again recently, which I used to love when I was younger, but I was pretty disappointed. It definitely wasn't as good as I remembered.) But the winner for me remains The Emperor's New Groove.
SasukeUchiha
Yes sadly I can say a have some favorites also.... Lion King: I remember seeing this in the theatre many years ago, I have always loved this movie and probably always will. Aladdin: Same thing as with the lion King, probably just a fond childhood memory that I still like. Finding Nemo: This was HILARIOUS lol, need I say more? Pirates Of The Carribean: Just an all around Great Movie, CG, Acting, Cast, Story and SCenery were all amazing.
Dagger
Originally posted by terra But the winner for me remains The Emperor's New Groove.
I worship that movie. While I dislike most of Disney's recent animated films, The Emperor's New Groove is just brilliant. Perhaps I'm biased (I watch Just Shoot Me pretty regularly), but I thought that David Spade did a fantastic job as Kuzco. Besides, who wouldn't love a movie in which one of the main characters is a guy named "Kronk"? If I remember correctly, it didn't do that well in theaters, which is a real shame. ~Dagger~
Kanariya
I love Disney movies, though it is a shame there are really good ones or ones that just plain stink. Anyway, onto my list of top 3 disney movies. Finding Nemo-Who could not love this movie? It was so funny, and Dory is my #1 role model. She's so cool. Bambi-Yeah. I still like Bambi for some reason, and laugh at certain parts. I'm an evil kid. The Lion King- It is such an emotional story, which captures me. It used to make me sad when I was younger, and it is just great. I also have the Lion King 2, but the first was my favorite.

That's why it got rated PG, as well as released through what was Disney's "more mature" film company, Touchstone Pictures, the weirdo storyline. And the fact that toons could get killed and a guy getting murdered put it there as well. And how could I forget Emperor's New Groove?? I love that movie, David Spade and Patrick Warburton just make it all that funny...and whoever does that evil lady's voice.....Eartha Kitt I believe....:babble:. The animation style is pretty cool too, kinda got that South American touch. But that's about it for me in recent Disney movies aside from maybe.....Lilo and Stitch which wasn't half bad and Brother Bear.
island gurl
haha I am such a disney freak. My fav movies are; The Lion King: I just love the way it was animated, the music and the powerful message. Plus it's funny - or at least it was when I was 5... Aladdin: How could you not like Aladdin? It's awesome. I like the little monkey friend of his. Beauty and the beast: This one's probably my favourite. All time classic disney movie! Pirates of the Caribbean: Newest one. Can't get enough of it! Yep I love Disney movies...but that said I really don't like Peter Pan or Cinderella! Ugh! XxmagentaxX
ah Newsies... best underrated disney movie ever! I had this thing for Kid Blink for a really long time. I think it was the eye patch... >_<; The Little Mermaid is my absolute favorite hands down. I know every single word to the whole movie and never get tired of it. Same with Beauty and the Beast.. it's kind of sad actually....
Epitome
I love Disney movies Ill admit it, and I also love Disney World, but personally, I think the Disney film makers are perverts. They put all kinds of things in their movies that children, especially the age group usually watching these movies, shouldnt see. For example, in The Lion King, one of my favorites(I always get choked up up when Muphasa(sp?) dies) when Simba is a cub, and they're singing "Oh I just cant wait to be king," Simba jumps in the air and hits the ground and all this smoke comes up and it reads "Little Boys and Girls Have Sex." And for another example, in Aladdin, when Aladdin uses the Magic Carpet to go up to Jasmines balcony, if you listen very carefully you can hear Aladdin say "Easy kitty, *then in a whisper*Take off your clothes" to Jasmine. Now correct me if Im wrong but this is really perverted in my opinion. But back to the subject. Anyways, I do love Disney movies. My favorite currently is Remember the Titans. I loved that movie and it really struck me on how badly people of a different race or color were treated back then. Another one of my favorites is Holes. Im pretty sure that is Disney... but anyways, I read that book and saw the movie and it is great. So yes, besides the fact that they are perverts in my opinion, I am a Disney freak.
Semjaza
I really hope this thread doesn't decend into that "hidden messages in Disney films" crap. We already had a thread on it where the majority of people showed they don't know what they're talking about. In Aladdin, combined with the rumor and the fact that people try and hear that line, they're simply going to think it's there even if its not. It's a proven idea in other similar situations too. There's excuses for the Lion King thing (whether or not anyone believes them, I don't know) and the Little Mermaid priest thing is totally ridiculous if you bother to watch the scene and see that it is his knee. It's not there. Please, let's keep off this subject lol. In any case, I love Disney movies. I own pretty much every animated film (in the masterpieces category anyway, not those direct-to-video sequels). I buy what I can on DVD, so Alice in Wonderland is next. I was disappointed to hear that Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 were being discontinued in traditional Disney fashion. I still haven't got them. My favorites are Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland and The Emperor's New Groove, personally. There's also this large group of films they put out that I think are really underrated like The Black Cauldron, Pocahontas and The Sword in the Stone. I've already added The Lion King to my collection and I'm going to buy Beauty and the Beast when the opportunity presents itself. I just appreciate the older movies so much more than what's on the market today--and for good reason. It's not just a matter of substance or the mediocrity of the material itself (although the messages in present Disney flicks are so knarley it's not even funny). The characters of yesteryear were just so much more appealing. That's a definite measuring stick in terms of quality--memorable characters. What's out there now lacks the complexity and appeal that made many of my favorite character so special. And that flaw substantially hurts the stuff saturating today's market. NorykoAngelcry
Let shave. . Ohhhhhh. . I get it now Charles *ducks* I love Disney, and enjoy most of their movies. I think my all time favorites would be. . Aladdin Emperor's New Groove Who Framed Roger Rabbit(I guess I will put that one too) LOL, like I said, I like all of them, but the top two are absolutely my favorites! Arcadia
Very nice, Charles. ^_~ I think for the most part, I enjoy all the movies, but my favorite has always been Sleeping Beauty. The art is amazing. It's gorgeous and it fits right in with the entire theme of the film. Plus, the story itself is taken from old folktales. Almost directly, I think. A lot of the older Disney films are like that, actually, which is probably why a lot of people enjoy them more. As Charles said, they were a little more complex. There was more to them than just a moral background for your kids. Though I think a lot of the songs in the movies are fun. They usually always keep me in a good mood, if nothing else.
G/S/B Master
Nice Charles. But you have WAY too much time ^_^. And a sick mind to come with it XD. Finding Nemo is a classic. My voicebox must have been damaged from laughing too much >_<. It's hard not to laugh actually."Just keep swimming, Just keep swimming" My 2nd favorite is Who Framed Roger Rabbits. I watched at a young age and the ride in Disneyland after the movie just made me scared. WFRR is good, it used to be funny, but it's disturbing. The Emperors New Groove is a great movie. No doubt about it. The Road to El Dorado was the very first Disney movie ever. Really. This was as funny as Finding Nemo. 2 thumbs up :D.
Patronus
I've always been a Disney freak - I could recite all the lines from Hercules. :) Hercules has always been one of my faves, especially the songs. Probably because I've always been interested in the Greek/Roman Gods and I like pointing out the false facts given in the movie. The next has to be Lilo and Stitch. I mean, how cute can you get? I love Stitch, and Lilo especially. She's quite a smart *** for a little girl. The only thing that bugs me (and my sister..) is how thick they make the girl's/women's legs. And of course, who could forget Finding Nemo? It's such a fantastic film, and portrays a positive relationship between father and son which many kids (including myself) have never had. I almost cried when the father (forget his name...) was saying goodbye to Dori.
I've never cried for a cartoon.
Anyone think it would be cool to have Disney make a movie of the first Kingdom Heart's game?
James P. Galvatron
I myself have been a big disney fan I plan to go see The Lion King and 1/2 with my little brother. I have seen alot of them we own Finding Nemo that movie was so funny it almost made me laugh myself out my seat and another good movie we own is Lion King a classic a movie everyone of all ages loved. Sadly its counterpart Lion King 2 was a terribly bad movie wasn't even good enough for theatres some movies just don't need a two while others may need a movie to take place before the first. The last thing I want is a movie plopping them all together on top of it. I really do not like that game, but apparently I'm in a minority. Bandit Joeykuba
I love Disney films to death. I've been watching them for as long as I can remember. My favorites include: Lilo & Stitch- This movie had a good plot, animation, and theme. Another reason it's on my fav. list, I actually almost cried during parts of it, which is quite an accomplishment for any movie I watch. Lilo & Stitch is just one of those new classics that's a must-see. "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind... or forgotten." Lion King- Who can not like this Disney classic? Even after all the years it's been out, it still carries the charm that drug me into liking it back when it was first released. Finding Nemo- Another Disney movie that stresses the importance of family. This movie carries a great deal of comedy and lessons that everyone should learn (I.E., never giving up, friendship, listening to others, and believing in yourself/others among a load of others). Mulan- Is it just me, or is this one of those underrated Disney films? I think that it is a very good movie. Mushu (sp?), voiced by Eddie Murphy, is the funniest character on the movie. Eh... unless you want an entire list of about 20 or so Disney films, I'll stop now.
Milo
What about the Robin Hood movie, with the foxes? That was my FAVORITE movie when I was little. (Hell, I still watch it!) I think it's amazing how they can truly (for lack of a better term) animate animals. Making them look like people...so cool!
RainbowChick
I love disney movies. They're so funny and moving. Epitome
My favorite and latest Disney movie that was just released, Miracle, is AWESOME!! If you are going to the movies any time soon, I strongly suggest seeing this movie. It was great. I have seen it three times, and each time I see it, it gets even better. So if you have some free time, go see it, I guarentee you will ALL like it.
Godelsensei
I will not delve too far into the evils of Disney, but I will state that, as an individual company, The Emperors New Groove was the only original movie they have every made, as far as I know. By this I mean it was not a sequal, a rip-off (Lion King fans, I honestly don't mean to break your hearts), based on a book etc... That movie kicks ***, nevertheless, though Disney isn' t exactly my favourite company on its own. Disney-Pixar produced two good movies: Toy Story and Toy Story 2. The rest were just kind of, well, "meh." That's just me, though. *shrug* I mean, the animated ones...
