Too Organized??

Do you people have certain things that you are too organized with?? For example: Work in binders, papers, bedroom, etc...

Well I am too organized with my video games. I have all my video games in categories of systems and in order of whats the newest and better to play. That said, I am not organized at ALL with cleaning my room, keeping work tidy, or anything else! It happens to be my video and Computer games. I find them quite important to me so that would be why;)

So what objects are kept organized by you and what isnt organized??

Hmmm...I place all of my graphic novels in chronological order, after first organizing them by series. I guess that's odd, especially when I really don't are about the placement of anything else in my room. As long as it doesn't look like a disaster area, I'm usually good.

My room is normally a wreck, exept one corner. This one corner in my room is where I keep all of my manga, anime DVDs, and CDs. I have a shelf for each, all in alphabetical order. If anyone would to mess them up, I would freak. :p I hate people messing with my things. I also tend to organize my video games as well.
Other than those things, I don't care about tidiness and organization. *shrugs* I guess most people are like that with things that are special/important to them.

Exactly.

My books, manga, anime, CDs, DVDs and video games are impeccably organized. Each type of media has its own shelf, where I arrange different items either alphabetically, or in whatever way is most pleasing to the eye.

But other than that, I'm a pretty messy person. If you disregard the corner of my room that's devoted to various forms of entertainment, it looks like a natural disaster just tore through the area. There have been times when, due to the piles of laundry, old newspapers, magazines and other random objects, I just couldn't see the floor.

The only thing that I'm organized with are my school notes and stuff...if I'm not, I will lose them all and be screwed for the rest of the year.

I'd say my video games are in fairly good order, but they're hardly organized. They're stacked one atop another, sort of like some DVD collections I've seen and they're readily available for me to play at any time...but it's not really organized even with all that lol.

Everything else in my room is just...a mess. My room is a hellhole.

Man, one time when I was younger (I don't know, eleven or twelve years old?) I tried to organize my books alphabetically by last name. You should know that I loved reading as a kid, so by then I'd already accumulated what I'll estimate to be .... at least 230 books.

I don't think I ever got very far. But I tried.

Since then, alas, nothing about me is organized. Oh, except my closet. Which is always really neatly organized by type of clothing: long-sleeve shirts, short-sleeve shirts, sleeveless shirts, pants, jackets ... hm, I think that's all the categories. Oh, and my shoes are usually pretty neat too. Hm, it looks like my priorities have changed.

Oh, I suppose all my anime is really neatly organized too. My previous statement was completely false.

Nothing about me is organized. My personal belongings? DVDs? Books? The rare CD? I know they're here somewhere.

School materials? I have a general idea where they're at. Which, incidentally leaves me scrambling frantically just minutes before I have to leave (heh). It's not odd, on occasion, for a flurry of notebook pages to cascade about the floor while I filter out my notes in search of an assignment sheet or something. Hey, it happens. I always find what I'm looking for, at least.

My clothes are probably the most organized. Not that they're ordered or layered in any specific manner. I just know they're hiding in one closet or another. So, it doesn't take an inordinately long stretch of time to search those suckers out. Score one for me, I guess.

I'm just not into setting time aside to order my belongings. I'm sure it'd be in vain if I even bothered because it's doubtful I'd actually put the stuff back in its "designated" spot.

Ah well, hate me organization fiends! I am your enemy. :drapes arm over brow in dramatic way:

When I was younger, I was very organized with all of my possessions. I sorted Barbie dolls of their name (with those with no name, I gave it to them), and more other random stuff of mine. And I sorted my video tapes alphabetically of their titles. Then I realized how many Disney movies I actually had.

Now, I am a complete junkie. One stuff will be in one corner, some stuff will be under the bed. Some stuff may be on my bed, and I still sleep on my bed, avoiding the junk on it. I leave my room the mess it is, and I am completely fine with it. I am even disorganized with my own special possessions; I lose my video games a lot, I lose my house key, I misplace a computer game, anything that's special to me, I'll lose it. Even my PS2. Now wonder how can you lose that.

As far as organizing stuff, my graphic novels is about it. They are in order of volume and series on their own shelf. Only other thing that is remotley organized are my dress shirts, they are closeted in order of color, darkest to lightest. Strange huh?

I take care of very specific things.

Videogames - This is probably the cleanest part of my room. I dust it pretty much daily, I have the wires neat and bundled up when there's excess, all the games are packed away, controllers are wrapped and packed anyway, etc.

Comics - They all go into a box. Unlike nearly everything else, as soon as I get in here, I put my new comics in the box. I don't even think about it anymore.

MP3s - I'm very particular about this. I have them sorted on my computer by genre > band > cd type (LP, EP, single, etc) > cd name. Every last one of them. They're all tited in a very specific way, too. Band - Album - Track - Title (so for example -- "Death in Vegas - Scorpio Rising - 01 - Leather"). I'm really picky about titles and stuff too, so if things are capitalized properly I fix the filename and ID3 tags.

So that's about it.

Orginization is one of the rare words that will induce my gag reflex. I've basically been forced to organize myself considering the higher education standards of College, and my doom If i were not to become organized. My room is perhaps cleaned twice a decade, or so.

I can't say anything about me is organized. Like Charles, I abide the "don't clean my mess, you'll ruin the system", system. I suppose that suits me, as I'm a fairly chaotic person. I'm sure one of these days, when I finally become a doctor, It'll get me killed or something.

As for now... *shrug*

Ahhh, an anecdote for you. I've got an obsessive compulsive friend who has to organize his manga and anime perfectly in a shelf so they are 2 inches from the back of the wall. Everytime we go to his room, we push back the manga a bit to see if he notices. When he does, he spazzes out and spends 5+ minutes pulling each manga out and pushing it perfectly in.

I would feel more guilty, but he definately knows how to take advantage of my inadequacies -_-.

Amen to that.

Strangely enough, I get obsessive compulsive about being disorganized. I can't stand it when people mess with my clutter. Like Sem, I am organized with my games, though.

For my SNES, I get a bottle of amonia, a damp cloth and get at it. For everything else, I just dust and wipe.

All my Final Fantasy games (and I mean every one of them) are in numerical order. I'm against lending any of them out to my friends (in fear of smudges and scratches, particularly FFVII).

I'm not too big on cords, though. The controllers, I "stretch" out the cord and set it on an elevated surface, away from harm. I try and buy as many "cartridge covers" for my NES and SNES games as I can find, to prevent unwanted dust.

You should see our living room. I have gaming mags/Guides/papers scattered here and there (most are in a neat stack), random crap on the ottoman, and on the side tables of our sectional couch. My shelves is cluttered with all kinds of stuff. But hey, I have one shelf for each category: first, action figures. Second, gaming stuff/consoles. Third and fourth, whatever thingamagogs were on the floor.

Then it comes to rooms, I live like a hamster. But I do hate having stuff on the floor, especially clothes. My sister is opposite. You'd figure she'd adopt the floor as her second bed or something. I always put dirty clothes either in our hamper or the laundry room. Whichever's closer.

My bed's like a hamster's. A few clothes, a water bottle, my SP, books, a quilt, an afkin, about six stuffed animals, papers, four pillows, an issue of NP, a plastic cup, and I think an empty bottle of Starbucks. And most of this stuff's mashed against the wall. >_O,

I'm comfortable with my habits. But I know some people that "look" their habits. Me? My friends sometimes say I look like a punk jogger, but that's it. I dunno if anyone would call that a "cluttered" look. 'o.O'

In all, I'm one hell of a pack-rat.

My room is extremely unorganized. Extremely. But I keep my binder really organized. I freak out if there's a paper out of place. My dad is too organized. He really freaks out if I leave the phone upstairs or my books on the table. He gets mad at me and my mom a lot because we're pretty unorganized at home, but at least we're clean! My dad's sink is tres gross! Most of the time, I argue with my dad that I have an organized mess. Like, I'll have a pile of stuff on my desk, but I tell him that if he told me a specific thing to pick out from the desk, I could do it instantly. It's like a mess, but you know where everything is.

Sometimes organizations can be really bad. My cousin's room...ugh...you can't DO anything in there! "No, don't take that book out! They were too hard to put in!" or "No! Don't take that from out under the bed! It's a pain in the neck to get right!" and my favorite: "No! Don't play that board game! I have the pieces all nice and rubber banded!" This is when organization goes from the slight thread of 'responsibility' to the other side of 'annoying'.
Of course, it's good to be organized like that at certain places. None of which include a bedroom used for entertaining yourself. A couple of these places would be: School and work, maybe.

Like Conna said: People usually take care of the stuff that's important to them. Which is wierd 'cause my mom's always losing her credit cards...

I don't think you could ever be too organized, because orginization will help you on the way to success! Unless of course you're the type of person who can't find something if its organized. I find that quite funny. Ta ha ha. But you should definately not be up to the point where you're paranoid if something's misplaced, like Motfati's dad, it sounds like. (No offense)

As for me, well, i like to be organized, but whenever i clean my room and stuff, i try to put things in a specific place, but if i don't have a place for something, i just stick it in the closet or under my bed. Yeah, and usually after a while, my room becomes messy again. I don't like it, but uh, thats the way it is!

And as for my school binders, i have two of 'em. BUT those two binders have dividers for each subject on Day ones and Day twos (its a weird scheduling system) The only thing is that all of the paper's holes keep on ripping so they always fall out of my binders. I'm also running out of room in my binders.

But look at epitaph!! HE WINS IT BY A HALF!!

My room is really un-organized. I'd take on anyone in a "messiest room" competition with no hesitation at all.

As for anything I'm too organized with... ha, good luck finding it. I'd have to say my clothes. They're either in one of my wardrobes or one of my chest of drawers. And even then I have to spend about half-an-hour finding the clothes I want to wear for the day, not because I'm picky or anything... mainly because I have too much clothes for my liking. Actually, I like having alot of clothes... I just have too much, more than one person should have.

I'm pretty organized. When I was younger I never was untill I got to high school.

My binder is neatly organized in order from date and I usually always have what I need with me at school. My room is is organized, but in my own way. When people go in there they may think its messy because I have all my drawings and eveything I draw/color with right in the middle of the floor, but thats where I draw so I keep everything right there. I used to have all my cds lined up under my bed, I know its strange but I liked them that way. They were in order too, from bands, to Matrix, then Last Samurai. Lol. I now have two cases for all of them but they are still on the floor right next to my drawing utensils and such for easy accsess. ^_^

I'm organized in sort of a random way. I know where everything is...but only because I have a good memory.

I try to keep like things together: all my letters are in a clementines crate, for example. My stickers are all in a sticker folder (but that's only because I need them together because I use them all the time.)

I generally have a decently clean room. (Hopefully none of my family members read that.) It doesn't look great right now, but I do mean to clean it. When I have the time and inclination.

I'm pretty well organized. My room ALWAYS looks like it has had about two days' worth of neglect, which means it's not spotless but it's not too bad. I know where everything is except for my checkbook, which is sometimes a problem.

I am the one and only neat-freak out of my family, friends, and a bit of my neighborhood.I'm so organized that my room is color coded and everything is in alphabetical order.Sometimes, I even stay up until 3:00 am just doing every single chore possible. Then I wake up at 5:00.And that's not all--to this day,I still ask my pig-friends if they want their rooms cleaned...for free...and do them too!!Yes I know I sound weird, but I guess that is just who I am.(Don't even get me started on school...^^)

Im not organized at all. COme into my romm you'll find piles of clothes and shoes evetywhere. My video games MIGHT be put in a certain place so I can get to them but most of the time under a pile of clothes. My CD's just thrown eveywhre maybe 2-3 CDs in one case. And when I pull one out is super scratched up so it doesn't work ( Good thing i got a CD burner). Ad the worst part about it is that I have to share with my brother who is even worse than I am. I try to keep some school papers organized but they eventually get lost.

My room is ok. Things are where they're supposed to be but their not really organized. I can find things when I try but it wouldn't be like I know exactly where everything is.

About the only things that are organized in my room are my CDs, games, DVDs and clothes. My binder is pretty ok but it has been in better conditions. Most of my things are like that because anything that is too organized looks out of place to me, especailly my room.

Like i said before organize things that actually mean something to me, like DVDs, CDs, Xbox Games, Gamecube games, Computer Games, and others.

I organize my xbox and gamecube games by what I bought recently and what ones i like the most:P. I get so mad when friends look at all my games and dont put them back.
then i have to organize again lol...
