Cold-pill Crack Down
Responding to the growing use of over-the-counter medications to make illegal drugs, an increasing number of stores are restricting access to commonly used cold, sinus and allergy remedies that contain ingredients of powerfully addictive methamphetamine.
Okay I can understand wanting to put a stop to drug use, but limiting the amount of a product that a consumer can buy is a little ridiculous.

And it's not just OTC cold-pills their doing this to.Wal-Mart is also limiting the quanity of lithum batteries you can buy to a maximum of four packages. All because they conatain an ingredient also used in making meth.

If your going to do something like that you might as well take many types of household cleaning products and white out off store shelves.Because if someone wants to get high and can't buy the stuff they want to make meth what are they going to do?Go to the aisle with cleaning supplies and pick up a can of air freshener.

What is your alls opinon in this matter?

I imagine someone will take that to court and the limiting of approved products will be found to be unconstitutional, since there's not a major demand on any of it. I'm 99% sure they're going to have to find another way to get at the druggies out there. :p
You know there's something wrong with this world when you can't even buy meds for fear of a drug screening...

I don't think limiting the amount of OTC (patent medicines)drugs you can buy is going to deterr the manufacturers one bit.

It's hapening over here too, sadly enough, you can't buy patent medicines without proving you're not going to make meth. But, i suggest they look closley at their new policies.

Couldn't a drugn amnufacturer just go store to store and stock up quanitities that way? or get mates to drop in and grab it for them? This si the reason why I think patent medicine limitations are not going ot work, now or never.

If I can think of that, I'm sure soemone whose livelyhood is the manufacture of Meth would have too.

Everytime my mother goes to Nicaragua she always stacks up on cold medicines and the like for my grandmother because this stuff isn't readily available over there. Well the last time she went, which was a while ago so this has been going on for a while, they told her that she was restricted to how much medicine she could take. So she, in her infinite genius, gave me a part to buy and my sister a part to buy and that was that. In short, if my mother could find away around it, anyone can.

This has been known for quite some time... at least for me thanks to a few people I know. There was apparently a big problem with something similar to this in California a long while back. I'm surprised it took the average kid this long to find out about it. That or it took the average parent this long to figure out that their kids were doing it.

Probably the latter.
