SaiyanPrincessX
I'm curious to where your love for art, or talent in it came from. This thread I think may be somewhat similar to the Practice/Talent thread; but more in depth I suppose, maybe. o.O I've always been into art, I got it from my mothers side. My grandma took several classes and from looking at a few of her drawings she was quite good. My mother loved to draw when she was younger. She wanted to be an artist but people would always discourage her. She pretty much stopped once my brother and I were born. I became serious about art when I began watching anime. The art style really inspired me to practice alot to become better. I knew several people who were amzing which made me push myself. Topaz, a previous member here was a big part of that. I printed almost all of her work as a refrence for myself. As far as graphics go I think I got into that aspect by seeing the artist around here back in the day. I'm not much for painting or sculpting, drawing and computer graphics are my artistic passions. ^_^
Minako
I think my interest in art came from my Dad's side. My grandparents (My Dad's parents) have pictures of all 4 of their kids' drawings on the wall, and they are quite good. My dad doesn't do art anymore but he gave me a very nice set of oil paints and I'm grateful for that. Everyone also says that my art is good. Of course, I'm a perfectionist so I always say that it isn't good...Anywho, my point is I got it from my dad's side.
wiccansamurai
I got it from my da's side, but he was never good. My aunt, though, is a children's book illustrator. My grandpa on that side drew maps for WWII, and is quite good with art. My grandma does a lot of crafty stuff, as well as my other aunt. Crafty things like sewing, jewelry making, beading, knitting, ect. I'm lucky and can pretty much do it all decent.
SasukeUchiha
Definitly my Maternal side. When I was younger I used to Draw with my grandmother constantly. I love all types of arts and work in as many mediums as I can get my hands on.
Syk3
I suppose that I inherited my "talent" from my dad's side of the family, though it skipped a generation with him. My grandfather always had a great eye for art, and although his hands are sort of shakey, he's produced some great paintings and carvings. He'd literally take a block of wood that he finds on the beach and turn it into an amazing art piece. Some are around my grandparent's house, but most of it is up at our beach house. He's really a very talented artist, and his stuff looks almost professional. ^_^ I ended up starting to draw at a very early age. My mother remembers a great rocket ship that I drew in kindergarden, but I have no recollection of it. Then my teacher asked me to draw something for outside her classroom window when I was in elementary school.. then I went on to Beanie Baby design sketches, Star Wars ships, and some weird robot dude. o-O But it wasn't until early middle school when I was exposed to Dragonball Z and other anime (though mostly DBZ at the time), and that inspired me to draw many, many characters (a few of which I have on my myOtaku[/shamless plug] *cough*), but now it's come to the point where I simply draw for school. My teacher has us hand in a sketch book every week for pictures of things around our house, and he's told me before that I have a lot of talent [and not to waste it on cartoons =_____=]. I hope you enjoyed my life story. :)
