Talon
Aris sighed, surveying the land he called home from atop the high oak. He breathed in the forest air, then saw what he was looking for. The village festival was finally beginning. With a sigh of regret, Aris jumped down from the forest's mighty boughs and ran flat out for the village, arriving in about a millisecond. his sudden arrival startled nobody, as Aris was used to. He looked around briefly, then walked to the center of the village square. He took up the wreath granted to the Grand Mephit of the Winter Festival.....who, in honor of his impending quest, was, of course, none other than Aris D'laranth. He briefly embraced Serenity, his girlfriend, before stopping for the mayor's annual speech. Mayor:People of my fair Lelend! I welcome you to our humble Winter Festival! But before our festivities are to begin, you all remember the problem we discussed at last week's caucus? you have all been given a week to decide, and if nobody goes, then Aris shall be at the mercy of the gods! There was a general murmur through the crowds, but several people stepped forward to stand at Aris' side. Serenity:I shall take this journey with him! He needs me too much! The crowd giiggled until the blacksmith also stepped up. Kerrick:I, Kerrick Smithson, shall go. It's my duty to my village, and to young Aris, to assist him in his time of need. Aris, my sword, skills, and loyalty are yours. Rin:I, too, shall aid Aris! Whatever rancor I held him is banished, and I must go to aid my people! Glenn:Like hell I'll let the kid go alone! Aris, I'm with you! The mayor seemed pleased with the number of people, but then a young elven woman stepped forward. Lysaii:I must accompany Aris to ensure the safety of my own people. Please, Sir Aris, allow me into your party. My name is Lysaii. Aris:I happily welcome any who would aid me. The crowd seemed to hold its collective breath as a hulking black figure strolled right up to Aris, dwarfing the 6'7" Drow easily. The creature was obviously a Half-dragon, and the crowd waited to see what it would say. Xvirran:So....a Drow that can change the world. Sounds interesting. Mind if I come along to see what happens? Aris:Um....sure. I welcome you, master..... Xvirran:No formalities, kid. And the name's Xvirran. The mayor quickly resumed his place at the podium. Mayor:Well.....that's very interesting. Well, Aris seems to be in good hands, and likewise for the rest of the party. Aris, we thank you for waiting until tomorrow evening. May you return in one piece so that our beloved island may bask in your presence forever. At this, everybody, including the dwarves that Aris had bested many times at the age of ten, cheered uproariously. The festival began...... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aris was busy holding onto Serenity when the pegasus came hurtling down, its rider looking flushed and hurried. Aris had barely the time to release his girlfriend and walk up to the pegasus before a young elven woman Aris barely recognized leapt off the saddle somewhat ingraciously and introduced herself. Ishtar:I am Ishtar Sakazaki Aka Taka of the High Elves. I am here in order to represent my clan in the defense of Master Aris D'laranth, the famed Lycanthrope and Warrior of the island of Lethraian. Where is the master Drow? Aris:Right in front of you. Chill out, you're at a festival. And I welcome you to my party, madame Ishtar, though i am NOT deserving of the title 'master'. Ishtar looked very put-out as Aris wandered off, muttering something about food as he headed for the refreshments stands...
Shinkoru
Serenity fighred they might as well relish in the last feztival she'd attend for a while. Glanceing back once to look at Ishtar, Serenity's eyes narrowed. she would have to watch this girl. This girl's beauty almost surpassed her own... She gazed upon her watching eyes for a moment longer before heading after Aris. Haveing a knack for finding him, even with his immense speed and navigation of the cround, she spotted him quickly and kept up behind him as he headed from table to table taking nice portions of each food available. He took no notice to her presence until he seated himself at a table and sat down. His eyes glanced up at her and he smiled. Aris: I knew you were with me. Serenity: Suree ya did sweetheart. Her warm smile seemed to lighten the worry set in his face. Pushing his plate away a bit and backing out his chair just slightly he pulled her into his lap, swinging her legs over his and seating her on his oppsite leg, one arm wrapped tightly around her slender waist, the other, reached for his fork. Her bright laughter wispered softly to the ears as a gentle wind, full of joy and happiness. Aris found himself entranced with her presence, however now enough to prevent him from cleaning each plate he took. Once his fork dropped his hand immediately reached for his mug. Clearing it in one gup he lifted the suprisingly lightweight Serenity into his arms and onto the dance floor, her vibrant giggles resinateing throught the cround, brightening the mood. Setting her down on her feet, Aris commenced in takeing her hand. Serenity's thin, semi-tight, white dress fell to her knees and swished as he twirled her. Serenity's elegant hair twirled with her, caressing her body and face as the two dance, sending the entire cround into somewhat of a trance watching them, Serenity's beauty astounding to everyone, espically Aris. Their danceing continued until the sun reached the verry edge f the horizion. The rythmic steps of their feet to the music, still captivated the cround, now just little enough for eveyone to dance, but still a small open circle was left around Aris and Serenity as they dance, both engrossed in each other. Their eyes never left the others, pure love vibrateing from their pupils. Ishtar stared upon them the entire time, seemingly disgusted. Somewhere around midnight, the festival still alive and young, the town's older residences haveing receded to their homes and the younger people came "out to play" Having a go at the now faster music and nice rythm. Amist the mixing Aris and Serenity took it upon themselves to sneak out away from the cround, raceing each other through the forest, Aris, of course, letting Serenity keep a safe distance ahead of him to let her think she was winning. Her eyes danced with delight as she ran barefoot through the forest, her elegant hair behind her playing in the wind as she ran, her white dress slightly billowed behind her knees, the moonlight catching the white silk just right, enough to tickle any man, or boy's fancy. Reaching the rise of a hill, hidden amist a clearing near the edge of the woods, Serenity's dress flowed slightly infront of her as she ceased running, Aris comming up behind her and wrapping his arms about her waist. His fingers caressed her cheek and turned her eyes to his. Fingers danceing on her chin, he lifted it, leaning in to press his lips lightly to hers. Serenity shifted in his arms, his palms feeling the slenderness of her waist as it turned around competely to face him. Her chin balanced on his fingertips, lips caught between togather and not as her hands slide up his chest to his sholders, then to lick around his neck, her arms pulling him into her. His hand grabbing at her, pulling her closer to him as he pulls them both to the ground, the bright moon's of their world shining dimly down on them. Serenity's fingers danced along his back, grippin him to her tightly, Their kisses deepened and breaths quickened, and like in any teasingly good story, the view of the two slowly starts to move up until only the soft moon's on the horizion and all sound is blotted out by the gentle wind. OOC: *giggle* ain't I sweet. Only know Serenity IS a virgin and I intned for her to stay that way. (for a while at least)
Megumi momo
Ishtar confused and feeling lost walked up to her pegusus a small tear traveling down her face. Ishtar-"I was foolish to ever believe I had a chance" she said in shame. Gently patting Kanda she unsheathed her sword looking at her reflection. When she glanced away and back at the shimmering silver another face was along side hers. Ishtar-"Step back and I won't kill you..... Man-"I suggest you not try that young elf. Ishtar confused stepped back placing her feet on the ground looking for an opening to attack the figure. When the moonlight streamed across the sky the light showed the shadow. Ishtar- You.... You called yourself Xvirran did you not? The reptailian beast shook his head his scales lighting irredescent with the moonlight. Ishtar still alert kept her Mani katti at eye level making sure the beast had no way of attacking. Xvirran smiled a cunning smile and looked at the elven beauty right into her Torquoise eyes that were becoming laced with red. Xvirran-Just thought to let you know that they are serving drinks now... That is if you are thirsty" Ishtar kept her guard up looking at the beast a glimmer of hostility edging her voice. Ishtar-What are you doing here, Who are you,Why do I feel like I know you?" Xvirran started to walk away his wings engulfing his body. Not even looking back he remained silent for a moment then answered with calmness. Xvirran-Your questions mean nothing...Go on Get upset... Your human feelings mean nothing to me. I am along for the ride that's all I intend be here for. And one more thing We have met....but you need not know when. With his final words the being took flight. Ishtar resheathed her sword and walked up to her pegusus. Ishtar- Kanda..take me to the moutains maybe the rain will hear my pain and wash my tears in it's dew.
The Harlequin
OOC: Megumi Momo...where to start. Firstly, please separate your posts so that it's obvious who's doing what, especially in terms of conversations. Secondly, spelling. Try it, it's easy. Thirdly...please use real words. "Hostilation"... Xvirran needed something to drink. Not that he could get in the least bit inebriated no matter how much alcohol he imbibed. Having kidneys equipped with filtering one's own acidic blood left drunkeness a sorry shadow of a possibility. The elf wasn't his problem. The drow wasn't his problem. Actually, when he got right down to it...he didn't have problems. Which, given the circumtances, probably made him unique around here. Of course, that was hardly a unique situation for him... Check that. He did have a problem. The mayor. Exactly why the annoying little man kept staring at him and jabbering something was completely beyond Xvirran, and would have remained so had the Mayor not followed the draconic being over to the makeshift bar. Xvirran interrupted the diatrabe with a low, guttural mutter, sounding like gravel being sifted through chainmail more than anything else. Xvirran: Do be a relative use, and pass me a couple of tankards of amontillado... The mayor did so, then started as Xvirran unceremoniously downed the first one. For some reason he couldn't seem to get passed the large fangs...Xvirran indulged him with a wide grin, and ran his forked tongue over his front fangs, in a horrid parody of a seductress's enticement. Unsurprisingly, he wasn't bothered for quite a while after that. That, of course, suited him fine. After all, he'd sat there for several hours without making an issue of quite a lot of things he would have preferred to make issue of, mainly the idiocy of most other mortal beings he knew. His current lack of anonymity notwithstanding (it took a little more than simply using a sobriquet to hide himself, after all), the crowd was drunk enough that he didn't have to answer any annoying questions about his nature, given the difficulty in slurring out anatomic terminology. So, despite being surrounded by people who regarded him as anywhere from an amusing curiousity to an outright abomination, Xvirran was surpisingly at peace. Apathy more than anything most likely, but it still served. He debated for a few moments joining in some of the wilder dancing, but doubted these people were ready for the draconic spin. The fact that none of them had wings and a tail meant they simply weren't equipped for it, after all. So basically he couldn't get drunk, he couldn't try to talk to anyone, he couldn't actually get involved in the festivities, and he probably couldn't simply disappear. This did seem to have its drawbacks after all.
Deedlit
Lysaii sat at a table near the stairs sipping her wine every now and then, her eyes half closed and calm as if she was absorbed in her own thoughts or somewhat drunk. This was nothing more than a front. In reality, she was completely sober and alert, her golden eyes watching everyone and taking in everything. The room was noisy and stifling, most of its patrons shouting, singing, dancing, or laughing boisterously without a care in the world. She would never be missed, for a while, at least. Setting down her wine glass, she swiftly rose and gracefully made her way through the crowd to the stairs. Once she was at the top, she turned left and took out her room key as she approached one of the last doors. The lock clicked quietly and she opened the door, which also opened quietly on well-greased hinges. She quickly shut it and turned the key in the lock. Then standing back she muttered soft words under her breath, placing an enchantment on the door. It glowed red for a moment, then faded back to its original color. Good, she said to herself in satisfaction. She wouldn't be disturbed. She walked over to the window, the moon's light shining on her face and reflecting in her bright eyes. She knelt down on the ground, then drew a strange shape in the air with her finger, a silver trail of light as bright as the moon's own light following in its path. As she did so, she murmured the words of the spell in a language that no mortal had ever heard before. After a few moments the shape began to shimmer and swirl, then it slowed and eventually came to a halt, resembling the still and undisturbed surface of water. A soft and gentle voice spoke in the same language that Lysaii had spoken while she recited the words. Neshaia: "Lysaii, is all well?" Lysaii: "Yes, Mistress," she said reverently. "I have found the Chosen One, just as you commanded me." Neshaia: "You have met your companions?" Lysaii: "Yes, Mistress." Neshaia: "Does anyone suspect your true identity?" Lysaii: "No, Mistress." Neshaia: "Wonderful. I am very pleased with you, Lysaii. The journey is about to begin, and the roads will be dangerous. Please take care of yourself and your friends." Lysaii: "I will do my best, Mistress," she said as she bowed her head in thanks and respect. The still surface started to swirl again, but this time it faded into nothing. Rising from the floor she removed the spell from the door and opened it, walking down the stairs and to the common room once more, resuming her seat again and sipping her wine. No one knew she had ever left.
Talon
Aris looked slightly disappointed, but overall, he was pleased. It took him a while to dry his face after a very-helpful bucket of cold water cooled his all-too-primal desires, but there was one desire that just could not be satisfied to Ryth. There was a chili-dog stand at the festival! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serenity awakened, her clothes hapiily still in place, but her lover sadly NOT still in place. She stood, walking towards the festival, and instantly saw where Aris was. Bankrupting the chili-dog stand of its massive supply of food. Serenity:Every year.....what would I do if I couldn't cook those things? Still wondering, she walked towards the dawn-streaked horizon, settling into Aris' favorite tree and waiting for him to top off his supply of chili-dogs with a healthy amount of pure amontillado, as Aris never failed to do for the four years they had been in love... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aris:WHAT THE HELL?!?! Aris was dumbfounded. Most of the amontillado in the barrell was gone. Aris sighed, taking what was left and drinking it in three hearty tankards. Aris was quite proud of his unuasual ability to down an entire barrel and get little more than a slanted walk. He accepted a few dances from the other women of the village, making certain that they knew where his loyalties lay. Ishtar, especially, seemed keen on dancing. Aris' keen senses told him she'd been crying in a remote area for a while. His keen senses also told him that she was a very skilled dancer. Aris:Madam, you have won the dance floor this tune. Perhaps after my ordeal we shall strike another. For now, though...I have duties to which I must attend. He walked towards his tree, Ishtar feeling slightly happier. Perhaps she did have a chance after all..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aris jumped up to the bough where his dearest was resting. He kissed her lips gently, then sat down on the branch next to it. Serenity:Oh, Aris, why tonight? Why can't we wait until summer? Aris:My heart, I would that I never had to go. But....I must, because I was born a lycanthrope. I must remove the emperor of Achilla and depose Neshaia's sister. Now, hush, my love. I shall sleep in your arms surely enough. But for now....I must finish my work at the orphanage. Aris quickly jumped down, Serenity smiling as she saw her lover's afterimage fade. She was glad he cared so much about the children of this place. It meant he was going to be a good father.......if he lived long enough to be one...... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aris' hammer connected the final beam in the west wing of of the new orphanage. He turned to the children, now wide-awake, and gave each a blanket and a pillow. Aris:Now, little ones, go on in. This place will be your home from now on. And after this, I promise, I will keep everyone safe and happy when I get home from my journey. This place, this special place, built just for you, is my gift to you. May you all be good friends. You will always be my friends.....my children! The young children cheered and rushed in, Aris smiling as the littlest one tugged on Aris' coat to be carried in. Aris did so, bidding all of the children good night as he left, leaving his own caretakers in charge of the little wards. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Next Day Aris hefted his pack, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He pulled Serenity closer to him as they awaited the rest of the party. He smiled as they said their last goodbyes, those who had them, and turned to the harbor. A ship to the mainland, Achilla, was waiting..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That Night Aris:What a time to find out I'm seasick.......URK!!! Serenity was hastily preparing an anti-seasickness spell.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everyone, let's spend a little time on the ship. The mainland is more than eight days way, after all.
Guest Naota
OoC: There are other people aside from the party on the boat, right? Rin sat on the side of the boat, cleaning an old guitar that he found blow deck. He began strumming the strings, each sound smooth as honey. Rin began to play an old song from his childhood. The notes carried below deck, to the ears of the passengers. Several came up to the deck and watched him. As he strummmed the final notes of the song and put the guitar down, the people dispersed. Rin sighed, "This is gonna be a long eight days, seeing as I'm already bored." He walked to the stairs leading below deck, and found the door leading to the galley. Rin walked in to find the chefs running around in disorder, yelling at each other. Rin stepped forward, and a short chef slammed straight into him holding a pot of scalding hot soup. "What the!?! AHH!" The soup sunk in through his clothes, and it began to burn. "No! The other way fool!" The head chef yelled at Rin, who was running in the wrong direction from the door. Rin slammed straight into a cabnet at waist height and rolled over it, knocking plates and raw meat to the ground. The plate shattered with earsplitting sounds, as they all fell at nearly once. The meat splatted on not only the ground, but in a few chefs faces. "That's it! Someone carry him out of here!" The head chef commanded. At that, several chefs ran over and picked up Rin, who was still freaking out about the soup, by the hands and legs. They carried him out to the deck and through him to the ground. One of the chefs grabbed a bucket of freezing ocean water and splashed it all over Rin. As they walked off they yelled, "Don;t ever come back in the Galley again!" Rin slowly stood to his feet and yelled back, "Like I'd ever want to go in that rat hole again!" Rin walked over to the side of the boat, and sat down. As he thought about what had just happened, he began to laugh. Rin sat there and laughed as loud as he could, while everyone else on deck at the time stared. Rin finally ran out of breath, and then just sat there, smiling to himself. He sighed, then closed his eyes and fell asleep.
The Harlequin
OOC: Nobody specified what kind of ship we have, (SHIP people SHIP. It's not a boat...) so I'm taking some liberties. IC: Most dragons didn't like water. Xvirran was more than happy to accede to that rule. However, most dragons had obvious problems with being aboard seagoing vessels as well. Xrivvan was just as happy to be an exception in that regard. Hell, he liked being on ship more than being ashore anyway. It was easier on his legs, for one thing... But more to the point, floating over the gaff, the lateen sail billowed out before him, the brigantine flying before the wind in a way that could only be matched by the dragons themselves...Xvirran snapped his wings forward, gusting slightly further up the ship, keeping pace with it through the arcane side to dragonflight. This vantage point leant him an unmatched view, for which fact the captain hadn't bothered to station anyone in the crow's nest, given Xvirran's word he would stand watch with eyes sharper than any human's. The entire ocean was completely devoid of sails, most other deep water keels being traders anyway, and they were out too far to encounter luggers. A weather front was building directly ahead of them, a rather interesting looking storm, at least by Xvirran's standards. His mental catalogue of facts didn't reveal anyone he could think of as suffering from seasickness, but it was still possible. After all, he'd spent most of his time so far exactly where he was, or hanging batlike from a spar, or climbing the rigging with surprising agility for one his size and build. He had a fondness for bad weather while aboard, not surprising given that being washed over board wasn't too much of a problem. The captain shouted for the mid watch to man position, and the dawn watch to go below. Xvirran alighted on the quarterdeck, nodded affably to the man in question, who gritted his teeth at this violation of proprietry, and continued down onto the main deck. He braced himself against the currently unoccupied aft rail (he didn't check if the lee side was occupied. There was always one...) and wondered exactly what the protocol about non-human captains serving under colours was. He was more than willing to turn privateer, but was pretty certain he'd have enough trouble finding a crew as it was. That thought running through his mind, he retreated to his cabin and barred the door, determined that either he'd work out something else to do once this escapade was over, or work out how to steal himself a ship.
Talon
Aris reeled over the side of the ship, retching and trying to keep others away from the lee side of the ship. It wouldn't do for the hero of the journey to be reduced to a hell of a case of seasickness.....enhanced by Serenity's malpractice with new spells. Serenity:Oh, Aris.....I'm so sorry!! I didn't KNOW it was a spell that's make you spew seaslugs!! Aris sent a fresh wave of water dwellers into the ocean. He looked up at Serenity happily, wiping his mouth. For a brief three seconds, he was his grinning old Drow self again, but then..... Aris:URK......Serie......get me...URK.....some holly. I can make a cure, then.....HURGH!!!! Serenity rushed off to get the curative's ingredients, leaving Aris alone on the rail. Uncle.....URK....could you not tell Mom about this? Hyral:I forgot when you started calling my sis "mom". Tell me again. Aris:Urgh....alright. Mom was always there for me when I was a child. When I was about eleven, my caretakers had a child of their own, but Mom welcomed me into the forest. She gave me a home, a place to come home to. And, eventually, she introduced me to her follower, Serenity. I think I'm gettin' the hang of this ocean stuff......That's why I call her Mom. Besides, my real parents moved away to Achilla on my birthday... Hyral:Ach. Well, kiddo, yer mother sent more protection for you than you know. I have to be going. I don't like storms much. Oh, and watch out for Xvirran. He's planning on stealing a ship when the adventure's over. Aris:Tell him I'll buy him a fleet of his own as long as he doesn't make me a crew member....URRRRKKK!!!!!! The god disappeared, a fresh wave of rather large sea creatures appeared, and Serenity came out holding a large bough of holly. Aris fixed his cure, none too soon. Crewman:ALL HANDS ON DECK!!! MAN YOUR STATIONS!!! PIRATES!!! ALL HANDS ON DECK!!! Aris turned, seeing the scattered members of his party rush out from their scattered places of hiding or resting, each with a weapon drawn. He moved to the fore of the group as the pirates made their way up the starboard side of the hull. When they reached the top, they saw a Drow, several elves, humans, and a half-dragon. They blinked in unison, looking at each other as to what to do. When they turned back, the Drow was gone. In his place stood an seven-foot-tall half-wolf with a large silver sword and a set of claws extended to about a foot long. The wolf vanished. Aris:Behind ya, blokes! Doukeshi
Kerrick grasped his rapier tight in his fist, the keen blade glittering in the sunlight. They were only a day away from the island and already they were going to be subject to the violence of the outside world. Gritting his teeth he prayed for the gods to smile upon him and lept into the fray. "Master, get below deck where it's safe" The Smith yelled towards Aris. The boy just growled in reply, severing the head of one of the pirates with a single swipe. The clash of blades could be heard, mingled with the pained cries of wounded men. A feral roar tore the air as the large shadow of the half-dragon decended upon the deck, scattering those below him. Smirking slightly at the beasts effect upon the pirates Kerrick lashed forward himself, skwereing the man before him and pushing him from the deck, a distant splash testement to the man's fate. A fiery pain seeped into Kerricks shoulder suddenly. Grimacing he turned sharply raising his sword in time to block the deadly path of a pirates blade. The Sea dog grinned down at him with yellow, furred teeth, grime smearing his face. "Come on then Islander, ye can't beat the likes 'o the crew 'o the 'Burnt Rose'!" Kicking Kerrick in the stomach the pirate roared and raised his sword to end the smith's life. His yell of triumph was cut short with a wet gargle, a sharp throwing star sprouting from his throat. Falling forward the dead pirate fell to the deck at Kerrick's feet. Lucking up Kerrick nodded to the figure of Serenity who winked at him from across the deck before lashing out once more. Kerick exhaled a soft sigh and picked up his sword.
Deedlit
Lysaii struck out again and again with her sword. The ship was swarming with the corsairs, and it seemed that everyone had his hands full. She swung her blade in a vertical slice motion, slaying an oncoming bandit. So this is what a fight is like, she thought to herself as another pirate fell to her lethal attack. She heard a sharp sound from behind her as a large pirate had leaped out from behind the main mast. Fortunately at the same moment a particularly large wave threw itself again the side of the ship, causing it to tilt sharply which knocked her out of the way and made the pirate loose his balance once he landed. Before he had the chance to regain his feet, she plunged her sword into his chest, killing him before he could even utter a cry. Lysaii turned to face the remaining corsairs, who were now hesitating and eyeing her warily. Instead of charging at them, she sheathed her sword, to the surprise of the pirates who narrowed their eyes in suspicion. She raised her hand, extending all five fingers so that one pointed at each bandit, and whispered soft words under her breath. Bolts of lightning from her fingers struck each bandit in the chest, killing them in a fraction of a second, but surprisingly doing no damage to the water-soaked ship. She lowered her hand, a slight smile of satisfaction on her face, and drew her sword once more as some more pirates advanced.
Shinkoru
Serenity blinked in astonishment. Lysaii was indeed powerfull. Concentrating on the four guys about to rush her from the deck above Serenity sharpy turned, a swift flick of her wrist sent three throwing stars into one man. One hitting his wrist, another hitting his forhead, and the remaning two sliced right into and throuch the man's neck. Serenity: Least I can do something right... She commenced with jumping up, not waiting until her attackers met to her. The approaching storm at her advantage Serenity jumped up in the air, her eyes closed hands abover her head she chanted softly, the air around her swirling, keepng her suspended in mid air and a small wirlwind formed around her. Even as she continued to chant her spell, Serenity's emmence beauty was astonishing. Her hair wipping infront of her face and the billowing of her dress made many of the pirates stop and stare, exactly as she wanted. She looked down at the fifteen some-ad men who has gatherd to look at her. She smiled brightly and twirled in air, sending jet streaks of lighting at her admirers. Many dieing instantly the few misses were soon parried by the sharp arrows of lighting fired at them indivudally by the bow of air serenity held in her hands. As close to a master of weather as a half elf can be Serenity grinned, happy she had been praticeing elemental magic. However, her eyes widened as she fell straight down, hitting the wooden deck with a hard thwack. She tood and shook herself off. Seternity: used too much energy... She mumbled, ashmed ta herself, hopeing no one saw that she resumed humming knives and throwing stars at random pirates, her aim being the best of all her mastries, being the first one she perfected..
Talon
Aris:They t'rew a rope around yer neck Ta watch ya dance tha jig of death. They lef' ya ta tha starvin' crows, Hoverin' like hungry whores! One flew down, pluck't ou' yer eye, Tha other 'e 'ad in 'is sights. Yeh snarled a' 'im, said Leave me be! Ah need the bugger so Ah kin see! Aris cackled madly, slashing from right to left at the pirates' abdomens with his clawed hand as he madly sang a sea chanty about a heroic pirate captain. The pirates heard the haunting tune and turned to its source, seeing the huge wolf with blood-clotted fur and blood-matted claws. The klaive wasn't even drawn. Aris turned to the remaining pirates and bellowed for the rest of the party to stand aside. Like pins at an alley, the pirates fell overboard as Aris dashed through their midst at high speed, bashing them over the edge with his mighty strength. Aris beckoned towards Lysaii, holding his hands up in the recognized symbol for fire. Instantly, as the pirates retreated and began to sail away, their boat was alight, burning like a bonfire. Aris:(shouting) AND SO THA PIRATES FELL, ONE BY ONE, TAH THA BO'OM OF DAVY JONES' LOCKER!!!! He turned, grinning, to his party. Everyone was exhausted, with the exception of Lysaii and Xvirran. Xvirran was acceptably unfatigued, but Lysaii.....maybe she just hadn't battled as hard as the rest. Aris sighed, his energy so depleted he shrank to a complete wolf form. Serenity came and picked up her lover, whose energy was so depleted he appeared as a mere cub. He yipped, sighed, and fell asleep. The party merely stared. Rin:OOOkayyy.......he sings insanely senseless songs, and when he's tuckered out, he turns into a wee puppy. I am VERY confident about how this will turn out. Others murmurred their assent. Lysaii smiled inwardly, glad that her charge was innocent to the point that he did not shift into the miasmic shape of a shadow-wolf that all other lycanthropes did when their energy was as depleted as his was. Neshaia would be pleased. Kerrick merely guffawed, laughing something out about their hero being "a mere pup with one helluvan appetite, and claws to boot!" Xvirran, whose excellent hearing had picked up Aris' conversation with his "uncle" earlier, simply noted that the journey was indeed a very interesting venture. Glenn sighed, knowing Aris was going to need a hell of a lot of food whenever he woke up, and headed for the galley to whip the chefs into making forty chili-dogs. Serenity nuzzled the tiny cub in her arms, coddling Aris and humming a lullaby he'd been rocked to for four years. Ishtar glared at the girl holding Aris, wishing a thousand types of death on her head. She thought to herself that Aris was quite cute when his battle energy was spent.... The captain on deck grinned, glad that he had such protectors. He kissed the statue of Neshaia on the hand, glad she had given her son to this journey. The kid stood a chance after all.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spell check had a field day with the first eight lines.......
The Harlequin
OOC: That's...slightly disturbing. More so far the horrendous accent than anything else though. IC: Xvirran looked around nonchalantly as everybody drifted off, probably to whatever they were doing before, then started helping the crew assigned to disposing of the bodies. He reached down and absently grabbed a man with each hand, and bundled a third up in his cable-like tail. A series of quick flicks sent them overboard. The captain shouted something about more hands being needed, and Xvirran gestured for those around him to attend to their duty, and let him finish this off. There was only a score or so left to do, and he had no intention of throwing them all overboard anyway. He picked another stack of bodies up, noting with interest the small blazoned tatoo on each man's neck. A dark red, almost black rose, crumbling at the edges. One of the corsairs had referred to themselves as the Burnt Rose midway through the fight, as he remembered. Xvirran was unsure about how those things tended to work, but doubted that such a foible would be the work of one captain. Actually, that might be something to check. He finished with all but one of the bodies, and dragged that last down to his cabin, throwing it in for later. He didn't have a chance to eat humans very often, even rather scabarous ones such as this. He was, of course, cirumspect about it. He doubted the other people on the ship, the crew especially, would take well to it. He'd just have to remember not to crunch... That done, he wandered back up on deck, waved a laconic claw towards an enquiring eyebrow, and leapt off the side, making for the small point of light on the horizon. Given the state the ship was in, a dromon that had had it's sail damaged, and the slaves were probably dead from exhaustion, it wasn't hard to catch. In fact, it was outright becalmed, being outside the storm front. He landed on the quarterdeck, and flicked a stray quarrel away, before turning to the captain, who was futilely leaning on the tiller. Xvirran: Tell me human, does this group limit itself to one ship, or is there something of a fleet lying sequestering in a lee cove somewhere? The man just stared at him. Xvirran sighed, leant over the tiller, and exhaled...A black cloud of hissing gas emerged, melting the tiller into soggy pulp within seconds. Xvirran: Need I repeat myself? "There be more of us, but not around here, dragon." Xvirran: Excellent. Now, onto the important question. Is there any kind of credentials required to be a pirate? It seems a rather interesting existance to me... The man just stared at him, in something very akin to horror. Xvirran took that as all the answer he needed, and leapt off, making sure to tear another hole in the mainsail as he went past.... Fifteen minutes later, he was alone in his cabin, gnawing happily on a nameless pirate's torso.
Megumi momo
Ishtar looked at the couple and sighed. Her body had taken in quite some damage but she still felt alright. It was her heart that seemed to greive the most. Kanda was tied below so she had to walk where she wanted to go, at least for now. Ishtar walked by a room and noticed her reflection in a dirty mirror. Turning away for a brief moment and looking back again Ishtar scowled. Ishtar-You disgust me.....Ishtar Looking at her reflection Ishtar took out her Mani Katti The elven Tribal tattoo for loyalty On her bare abs seemed to infuriate her. Taking the sword she sliced down the tattoo making the black ink run with scarlet trail of her own blood. Her body started to heal itself mending each wound. The last wound was noticable. The tattoo had now become a sign of dishonor. Ishtar sighed looking at the scar that ran jagged through the back ink. Ishtar-Finally Ishtar I am satisfied with you. Loyalty is no longer in your vocabulary. Turning from the mirror Ishtar smiled she felt at peace now. she accepted her feelings and now was readt for atonment. Cleaning off her sword she looked into the haziness on the night. Ishatr climbed on top of the highest look out and smiled. Ishtar- I will travel with him, But no longer will I be Ishtar. I am Taka the warrior elf. Father I will find your assassain and when I do may the God's help them.
Talon
It took some time, but the puppy-Aris found his way around the deck quite easily. Unable to see properly, the large amount of blood from the battle still clotting his fur, he wound his way into Taka's cabin, believing it to be his own. His mind, canine as that of a newborn wolf's, did not even register that he was supposed to be a Drow, and he curled up happily in the sheets... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Taka sighed and returned to her room, the scar evident against her pale skin. She sat down to change and rest. Hearing a loud yelp, she sat bolt upright, looking down at her bed. Aris was sleeping, but not soundly. She reached down to his head, using the natural empathy that all elves, Drow or otherwise, have. She saw the violence in his dremas, the murders. She lifted him up, cooing softly. She smiled, knowing full well that Serenity was by now asleep. Aris awakened, his mind still too childish to understand. He looked up, nuzzling Taka, and wolf-sighed. Taka:Let's get you cleaned up, first. I can't believe that girlfriend of yours would've slept with a bloody wolf in her bed.... In less than half an hour, Aris was being scrubbed head-to-paw in a small, soapy basin. Taka smiled wistfully at the pup, drying him off with a towel and bringing him to her bedroom. She set him up at the foot of her bed. She grinned, noticing how he yawned widely and curled up, not in the sheets she'd set aside for him, but in her hair. She touched his head again, feeling that he preferred contact with others rather than being alone. He was a strange one, indeed, for Drow and lycanthrope alike. She smiled and fell asleep to his happy growling.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serenity:WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY BOYFRIEND?!?!?! Taka awakened with a large wolf on her chest. Aris had transformed upon resting the whole night, and being asleep, he could not remain a pup as it required a force of will. He looked up, seing a howling-mad half-elf standing over him with a frying pan in her hands. He hopped down, raised his hackles, and growled. Serenity:You've even brainwashed him!!! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?!?! Aris recognized her voice from some far-off part of his mind and sat down, yelping and whining imperiously, still unknowing as to what was going on. Serenity dropped her ferocious manner and lowered the frying pan, just as Taka crawled out of bed and took the wolf in her arms. Taka:Leave him alone! If only you KNEW what dreams he had, you'd be less forceful with him! It's not his fault he doesn't have half of his mind while he's a full wolf or a puppy! Let him be! Serenity:NO! HE IS MY BOYFRIEND!!! Taka:YOU TREAT HIM LIKE SOME PRIZE OR SLAVE!!!! YOU DO NOT LOVE HIM AS I DO!!! Taka held on to him protectively, stroking his fur and staring daggers at Serenity, who was about to heft the frying pan. Somehow, Aris had a feeling he wouldn't be forgiven of this for a while, even though he didn't know what it was he was doing wrong.....but Taka's arms felt nice to him, and he wondered who the furious girl in the sleeping gown was.......
inti
OOC: Sorry guys for such a late entry in both the Sign-ups and the actual RPG. Work's clogging up my time. *They aren't even paying me right...bastards...* ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~ IC: Anya quickly pulled herself up one of the ropes dangling off the side of the ship. When would people learn? If she was an assassin, it'd be all too easy to take out the captain without anyone catching sight of her. The elven woman slipped over the top of the rails and onto the deck. Why the hell are you doing this woman?! screamed her conscience. I don't know and I don't give a rat's ass... her instincts replied. Something told her there was someone special on this ship that had something to do with her. She had no idea, but it was too late to turn back now. You've heard the rumours about the dragon on the ship, haven't you? What could be more important than our safety? Just turn around. Piss off. Right now, we don't need you around. As for something being more important about our safety? She's obviously going to try and find out what it might be... the instincts snapped. Anja leapt up onto the main mast, to get a better look around. Not a good i-dee-ah... counselled her conscience. Why wouldn't it just shut up? Anja heeded the warning, and faded into the night, invisible to most eyes. She was basically just a part of thin air now. 'Where are you?' she whispered. Perhaps a little too loudly, for at that moment, a huge black dragon flew past, looking directly at her. Had it seen through her spell? If so, why hadn't it done anything? Was it there for the same reason she was?
Megumi momo
Taka glared at Serenity and stood up. She had pronounced her feelings and felt quite humilated at herself. Taking her hands she gently placed her fingers around the wolves face. Closing her eyes Taka kissed the wolf...a long and passionate kiss. Taka stood up and smiled walking away from the room Serenity watching her the whole way. Taka- Aris I have seen you dreams and I only hope one day I can share you pain. And for you Serenity I only hope you will understand better about what he is going through. Serenity was silent but felt she had missed something but she refused to let what Taka said bring her down. Aris was still a little comatose and he staggered to the door looking at the image of Taka move farther from him. Somehow underneath he felt at peace with Taka but refused to believe it. Taka was the first person...let alone woman who had seen his dreams and that intrigued him. Taka looked at the cresent moon which now had hid itself from view. Feeling quite dirty Taka looked around the ship for an onlookers. Sensing that no one was near by Taka gently slipped out of her clothes and started to walk the plank. Taka-No one is watching...I can swim pretty fast so if the boat speeds up I will catch up quickly. The water looks so pure...alomost crystal I think a swim will cure my sorrow. Taking a dive into the ocean Taka's pale skin shone with radience.Swimming deeper Taka began to feel at peace with the gently rolling waves. As she rested she watched the moon dissappear from veiw again leaving only darkness, Swimming to the ladder Taka pulled her self up her red hair dangling down for the first time in a while. Taka-good, my clothes are still here..Now my hair should at least be put up again. A man who was in the shadows watched the elf put on her clothes covering her perfect body. Whe she reached for the tie to pull her hair up the man stepped forward and grabbed her arm. Aris- Leave it down... Taka reconignzed the man as aris and stepped back. Taka- Were you watching me? Aris blushed and smiled. Aris- only a little I wanted to find where the chili dog stash was when I saw you. Thanks for cleaning me up. Taka- Is Serenity mad with you? I never wanted to cause trouble. Aris-Well she is being herself. I think that we'll make up sooner or later. Taka you're scar....Why did you do that? Taka took her sash off the floor her beautiful face becoming harsh. Taka- I...Leave me alone I need to think Aris watched Taka walk away her hair still down swaying against her back. He walked up to a barrel and pulled out a few Chili dogs. Aris- Much better.. Serenity-Do you love her? Aris looked at his beloved and smiled that question was hard to answer. Aris- I love you... Serenity saw the pain in his eyes and rememberd what Taka had said. Grabbing his waist she held onto him and glared at the sun that seemed to poking out through the clouds. Down in the cargo hold Taka's elven ears heard the words pass through Aris's and Serenity's lips. Running her fingers over the scar she looked at the tattoo. Taka- Why am I here? What am I doing? Maybe I will find peace.....Or maybe that will end in my death. With Taka's last words she pulled herself up on Kanda and fell asleep on the pegaus's mighting wings. Talon
Serenity smiled as Aris leaned on her. Until an all-too-familiar scent wafted onto the deck. Aris:CHILI-DOGS!!!!! The one thing that would make Aris forget even the slightest hint of Drow dignity, the one thing that would make him lose all pretense, the one thing that could make him fight across a field of berserk lycanthropes......and Glenn had had forty of them made. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ While Aris snarfed his food, Xvirran walked into the galley for a drink to wash down his own unique meal. He saw the Drow, a huge grin on his face, devouring the odd food at a very rapid pace. Xvirran, interested beyond measure, sat down on the opposite stool. Aris swallowed the four chili-dogs he had in his mouth, gulped a large measure of spiced ale, and sighed a content, yet still hungry, sigh. Xvirran:What is that unusual food you're eating as if your life depended on it? Aris:....CHILI-DOGS!!!! Xvirran, not in the least set back, wtached as Aris repeated his performance with another four chili-dogs, again downing them with spiced ale. He wore an exceptionally large grin throughout the whole ordeal. Xvirran:Becoming a wolf must take a lot out of you. Any other elf I've ever known would choke on two of those things. why do you like them so much? Aris:I dunno......might have something to do with my speed. I just really like food. I mean, REALLY. But chili-dogs are the BEST!!! Xvirran watched Aris perform yet another feat of gastronomical impossibility, all forty chili-dogs reduced to a single plate, two untouched forks, and a half-gone flagon of spiced ale. Aris sighed with relish. Aris:Ah, that hit's the spot. Xvirran:You are an odd one. Aris:Friend, I am odder than you know. See you around. I got a favor to repay. Oh, and by the way, I know some people who'd like to hire a hard-working guy for sea-work. Ain't too respectable, but Hunter and Briggs only hit merchant traders that screw around a lot. Xvirran pondered this as Aris strolled down into the hold, where Taka was sleeping gently with a pegasus standing guard over her. Aris calmed the pegasus down, whose name he found was Kanda from his empathetic touch. Kanda needed to be reshoed soon. Aris nodded and decided he would ask Kerrick about it later. Aris bent down, pulling Taka closer. She awakened to Aris holding her close. She couldn't react as he pulled her lips to his, a tear sliding down his cheek as he kissed her deeply. Then she saw why through her own empathy, by accident. Aris hung in the air, chained to a cross. the chain ran through his palms and bound his feet together, also piercing them. A large hole was evident in his chest. He was bleeding through all of the wounds, staring wide-eyed at the woman who stood before him. Firand:ARIS!!! You've lost everyone but these two. Do you want them to live, to go on? Look where your "mother" has gotten you! She has allowed you this death. Sell your soul to me, join me, Aris! I shall spare these two, Serenity and Ishtar, if you do! Aris:I can't.....I can't..... Firand:Aris....both of them carry your child! Aris' eyes shot open, tears flowing. he watched as the blade came closer....closer.... Taka pulled away, enjoying the kiss, but shocked as to what the Drow's fear were based upon. His worst fear.....she clenched her fist, making certain that she would aid him in every way possible. She pulled the crying Aris closer, laying down with him. Both of them fell asleep, Taka after Aris. When he fell asleep, she pressed her lips to his again, thinking that Serenity did not deserve him and knowing that Aris would disagree....
Shinkoru
Serenity sat upon the lowest deck, verry under the main one, for the ship was layered, and the doors to cabins were faceing outside with walkways infrontthem, The simple wooden railing being the only guard between them and the sea. Serenity sat upon the lowest railing, faceing the sea. Her fluid hair wipped gently in the slight calm before the soon to come storm, her same smimple sleevless white dress billowed gently in the breese as well, while her tears fell straight down into the sea. Her knees faces the endless water as only her hands gripped to the railing kept her auctually on, the ship. Serenity- *Wheeping* ..what did I do so wrong?.... Is it because I'm not good enough? That dammed elf!! SHE KNOWS NOTHING!!..she knows not of the long nights ..spent in his arms, calming his tormented dreams. She mearly watches his dreams and feels sympthany! BUT NO!! I CHANGE THEM! I bring him PEACE! Can she do that?? had she ever done that?? No..only me..I'm the one whol held him all thoes nights.. I'm the one who took his troubled dreams onto my self! I let myself go through nights of torment only so he could rest peacfully... how dare she.. .. I have no porpouse any longer.... As quickly and fluidly the words fell from Serenity's lips, she let go of the banister. ..splash... Xvirran flying overhead, heard all of what Serenity cried out to the seemingly alone night. Unknowing why he cared Xvirran swooped down and with one quick flick of his tail swept Serenity's now limp, but still beautifull as ever, body from the water. Leaving her hang across his tail he preceded to his room, locking the door behind him. He dropped the girl onto his bed and commenced in turning on the heat, shoveling a few shovels of coal in the fire with one swipe of his claw. He clocked his head at the girl, senceing her minute breathing he wondered at what else to do. So he simply walked over to her and pushed down on her stomach. Serenity coughed and turned over, gasphing and chokeing. Xvirran: Much better. Serenity: *coughing*..w..why.. I thought....u cared not..of our business... Xvirran: Oh I don't but I think Aris would be greatly saddened if he thought u had come to harm... Serenity: your a genius!!! Please do me a favor! Xvirran: I guess so? Serenity: Here, take this and drop iti n the water, surely Aris heard the splash or someone saw it but I doubt anyone saw you catch me. Please make it look like I fell..and keep me a secrete?...please... I'll be forever in your debit. Before Xvirran could answer she commenced in removeing her dress and handing it to him. He wasn't a expert on human females but he knew this, her body was as close to perfection as he'd ever seen. Xvirran walked from the room and licked the door behind him, flying swiftly to the water exactly where Serenity had jumped, there were still slight vibrations in the water. He dropped the dress. It's soking wet fabric sunk instantly, ilumniteing in the moon's pale light until it was barely out of reach. Aris's eyes opened sharply as Serenity's name escaped his lips. He stormed from the stables and to where he swore he heard a splash, then it caught his eye. Barely visible, a pale white dress half way down into the ocean. Aris's eyes filled with pain and sorrow as he dove down into the sea, comming up with the dress alone, No Serenity to be found. -Meanwhile- Serenity sat in Xvirran's bed, having made herself a makeshift dress from a robe she found in the bathroom. She signed softly, after safely magickign the room so no one, not even Aris with all his power, could sence her, for all he would know she was dead. This was a lesson he would learn, and she would find out, if his love was truly hers, and if not..she would hear the lips he kissed in her absence..... OOC: Serenity shall not be found or seen by ANYONE but Xvirran. Get it? Got it? Good.
Talon
Aris beat the wall. His dream had somehow partially come true. His girlfriend, the girl he'd cared about most of all, was dead. He looked to the sky, streaked black with the remnants of night during the dawn hours. He bellowed, slamming his fists into the wall again and again. The tears would not stop. They would not stop falling. He rushed to the cabins, grabbing Xvirran with more might than a Drow should ever possess from his bed. Aris:YOU! You can fly, you've got dragon's visioN! FLY OVER THE OCEAN!! FIND HER!! FIND SERENITY!!!! Xvirran's eyes darted from side to side briefly, before settling on Aris once more. Xvirran:I thought you did not care for the young elf. I thought you cared for Taka. Aris:Serenity....no.....you.....but....I CARED ABOUT YOU!!! I WOULD HAVE ASKED YOU TO MARRY ME!!!! I NEVER WANTED TO HURT ANYBODY!!!!! I LOVED YOU WITH ALL OF MY GODDAMN HEART!!!! Xvirran looked guilty for an instant, but he immediately restored his stoicism. But aris saw it. He saw the bloodstained remains of a torso in the corner. Aris' eyes rose in fury, putting the wrong two-and-two together. He rose, pure, unadulterated fury replacing the distress, pain, and loss in his eyes. Aris:You fucking asshole. You ate her. YOU DEVOURED MY GIRLFRIEND! DIE, YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT!!!!! Aris, attacking out of anger, struck against Xvirran, raking his Hybrid form's claws against the scales and drawing draconic blood. The natural acidity to living creatures did not so much as faze the enraged werewolf as he clawed and clawed, lashing furiously at Xvirran. The dragon tired of the elementary game and raised one large, scaly arm. He slammed Aris into the wall and knocked him out, Xvirran's blood burning a hole through hs thick wolfhide and drawing too much blood from Aris for any good to come of anything for the Drow. Xvirran shook Aris awake, knowing a lycanthropes healing faculties had to be concentrated upon. Xvirran:Whelp, open your goddamn eyes and heal yourself. HEAL YOURSELF!!! Aris:*cough* No. I want...*cough* to join her. You'll....have to...eat me...too. I...Serenity....I.....love......you.......Xvirran...bury me.....if you don't eat me....with *cough*the ring...in my....cloak..... Aris fainted from the pain, his body convulsing and shuddering, locked in his Hybrid form. Xvirran looked at Serenity, who was dragging Aris' body onto the bed. Serenity:Oh, God....he's....Xvirran, he's really dying! And he said..... Xvirran:I know full well what he said, AND what his condition is. And if he DOES wake up and heal himself, I will be a hunted dragon until I die. Serenity sat down on Xvirran's bed, stroking Aris' hair and praying he got better. The acidic blood was now burning into Aris' chest... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Belowdecks, Taka sat bolt upright, Aris not being in her arms. The Harlequin
OOC: ...Why must you people always get me into trouble? IC: Xvirran looked critically at the inert lycanthrope on his bed, then critically at the near hysterical elf hovering over him, basically wringing her hands. He momentarily considered decking her as well, she probably wouldn't want to see this, but decided it probably wouldn't be taken well when she woke up. Or when he woke up for that matter. Still, he'd probably better explain before taking steps. Xvirran: Most animals have acidic saliva- Serenity:-WHAT THE HELL HAS THAT TO DO WITH ANYTHING! Xvirran: Let me finish! Black dragons don't. Since during mating fights, one male may bite another, he risks receiving a mouth full of acid for his troubles. To counter this, black dragons have evolved alkaline saliva. So I can deal with the acid that currently scalds him, it's the damage already done I can't counter. I'm no healer. Xvirran's abnormally long, forked tongue flicked out, covering his claws in saliva, which he wiped over the affected parts of Aris' body. There was a soft hissing sounds, and a low mist filled the air as the neutralisation reaction occured at a phenomenal rate. Xvirran: He'll probably never eat salt after this in his life... Though he muttered the comment to himself, it still earned a raised eyebrow from a now calmer Serenity. Xvirran pointed to the small white crystals forming in Aris' fur. Xvirran: Of course, these are basically fluorine salts, and a few more exotics, so eating them wouldn't be a good idea anyway. As the hissing died down, Xvirran moved to the small porthole, cursing and ducking the ceiling as the ship rocked. He lowered the attached bucket that another species would have used for bathing, and carried it over to the bed. Lifting Aris up by the scruff of his neck, he sluiced him off and gently relowered him. Xvirran: I've done all I can do. That established, in his mind at least, he proceeded to tend to his own wounds, first dealing with the acid, then giving the actual cuts professional assessment. Aris hadn't been fighting rationally, so they weren't too much to worry about. Xvirran didn't contemplate the force he might have had to use had the drow truly been set on killing him. Apparently Serenity disagreed with his assumption though, for she laid a hand on his forearm...retracting it immediately when it started to sting though. Serenity: Please, isn't there anything more we can do for him? Xvirran: Unless you have some abilities I don't, then no. I somehow doubt that this ship doesn't have a skilled healer somewhere on it. No doubt one of the disparate entourage he's managed to collect has some ability. I recommend you try there. Apparently unconcered, he returned to literally licking his wounds. As soon as Serenity was out the door though, he turned to the remains of the corpse, actually just a sternum (far too bony) and a few attendant ribs, with some intercostal muscle remaining, and disposed of them through the same porthole. He didn't feel like explaining that until he absolutely had to.
Megumi momo
Taka was still asleep when an image in her dreams made her shiver. Somehow when she gave Aris part of her heart she began getting his dreams and this was the worst one yet that she had ever endured. Trying to sense where Aris was Taka's body began to burn, she knew he was in trouble. Taka-This is all beacuse of me...What did I do...Mylee god of battle protector of fire why have you forsaken your daughter? Taka glanced to the pillow her eyes darting around the blackened room. She could still feel Aris's touch on her scar the way he trailed his fingers down the tattoo.Taka opened the cabin door trying to find where Aris's had gone. Taka- Maybe this was all a dream. Maybe the god's are torturing me. A full fledged elf loving the likes of man...It was all a surreal fantasy. Walking to the top of the boat she heard the faint whisper of Aris's voice. Taka thinking- He's in so much pain...Why can't I find him? Why am I feeling his pain now? Did he give his pain to me because I said I would share it? Taka's eyes shifted across the floor a room a door was swinging open. No one was inside but she did see a light shadow it's chest was moving. Soon as Taka hit the door her body fell to the ground. Never had she felt pain like this, It was emotional and mental, Physical and yet not. Her body ached, it felt like someone had cut her open putting posion into the fresh flesh. She felt longing, pain, and worst of all sorrow. Getting closer to the door she saw the Lycanthrope on the bed her heart began to fall. Taka- Aris! Oh no Aris. I am so sorry. Taka ran out the room down to Kanda grabbing a backpack that was filled with magical items. Reaching in she pulled out a Stave. Holding the stave over Aris's body she whispered Taka- Neounda Mara Secuinta Lasra The wounnds on the Aris's body began to heal rapidly. Taka- Erk...Damn you my friend without your knowledge... When I die we shall remeber this day. Oh thank you Mylee...Thank you. Taka's body began to feel better but the emotional pain was still there. Aris's had not yet awakened and Taka could feel it. HIs dreams were becoming her's she felt them she could see them she could hear them. Taka began to cry tears falling out her eyes. Pulling Aris close she held him tight. Taka- I won't back out now. I promised you Aris that I would share your pain. Please don't hold back Give me every ounce of pain you have I will carry it I promise. It's the least I can do for you....Out of love... Taka looked at aris giving him one of her sashes that kept her hair up high. Speaking in elven language Taka left the room. Taka- Daisuke yo(I love you)
Doukeshi
OOC: I have no idea Harlequinn, maybe it's because of your magnetic personality ^_~. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Kerrick sat in his cabin quietly sharpening the blade of his sword, the whetstone gliding effortlessly across the sharpened steel. Hearing the commotion above deck he raised a single eyebrow, replacing his sword back within it's sheath. Rising from his position upon his bed Kerrick tentatively opened his door and made his way above deck, his sheathed sword held within his hand. Running his fingers across the laquered wood he ascended the stairs and reached the place where such tumult was occuring. Reaching the deck Kerrick frowned in confusion, it seemed that there was noone to be seen. Enraged shouts suddenly reached his ears from further below the deck, the other side to his own cabin. Treading swiftly forward Kerrick descended once more and listened for which cabin it might be. Upon hearing the cries of the elf-maiden he rushed towards the dragon's cabin, his sword unsheathed. "Miss, what troubles you? Where is Lord Aris?" Through tear stained eyes Serenity looked up at him, her face blotched from crying. She did not answer him but merely pointed at the door of the dragon's cabin. Nodding Kerrick grasped the handle and opened the door. The sight that met his eyes was a curious one. Taka was hugging the form of master Aris to her while the dragon looked on increduosly. Kerrick's eyes widened as he saw the pallid features of Aris. "What goes on here? What has befallen Lord Aris?" His voice shook as he spoke.
Talon
Aris snapped awake, his body healed. Scars stood out where the burns had been, but it was of no concern to him. He searched the room, praying to find Serenity, praying it was all a dream, though the scars alone told him it was not. He cried again, but not as deeply as he thought he might. Something had stolen the intensity of the emotion, or rather, someone had felt it with him. Aris' hand clenched the sash left him by Taka. He looked at it, finding the answer he needed. He balled it to his face and wept. He cried, knowing he'd hurt Serenity. he cried, knowing Taka had sworn herself to him. And he cried, realizing that he was never going to see either of them again. He glared at the mirror in Xvirran's room. He'd been angry and wrong to jump to conclusions like that. He climbed to the deck, finding Taka leaning against the mast. He walked forward, taking her in his arms, startling her. Aris:I have nothing left. Taka:I know. I saw everything. I am...still.... Aris:You still love me....you are still mine....after I nearly died because I lost her? You still love me even after that? Taka:Aris.....I will love you forever. Even if you were a golem.....I would still love you. That is what love really is. Aris:...I am sorry i hurt you. And I am sorry I must hurt you again, for one day I will. Just know....that a third of my heart is yours....and a third of my heart will always be Serenity's. Taka:What about the other third? Aris:....Though I should not be so light-hearted, a third of my heart shall always belong to chili-dogs! Taka sighed as she leaned in to kiss Aris, who shook violently with an unspoken sob as he kissed her back, feeling her sadness. She knew he sensed an unrest within himself that would destroy them all if left unchecked. So she allowed him to leave her embrace. Before she turned, a huge wave arose to either side of a straight path, like a shock wave. Aris had run to the horizon, needing space and the exhiliration of a long run. To dare himself, he ran home to Lethranaia and back, using the waves generated by his dashing to speed the ship's voyage, cutting it short by quite a few days. Aris returned to the deck, Taka's sash wrapped around his chest, a symbol of honor to the maiden that had given it to him. He also wore the sash of Serenity's dress about his waist, a symbol of honor as well. Taka saw the tears of conflict within the boy threatening to destroy him, so she embraced him and "stole" his pain yet again. She sent him to his cabin, and when he left, the pain she had taken from him made her sob and choke on Aris' grief. She wanted to get to the mainland, now, inexplicably a mere day and a half away. She saw Aris' sleep, saw him cry out in pain. And she wanted him to be happy.....but she wanted him for herself, as well.
