Katana Posted January 31, 2004 Share Posted January 31, 2004 NANI! I THOUGHT SHE WAS DEAD! Seriously guys, I haven't been, but my PaintShop has (and is, and will be forever). Two things on the plus side though! ^^ 1.) I'm taking graphic design at school, which involves Photoshop! Right now we're using Illustrator, but hey, it's nice. 2.) On the other hand, I'm trying to find a substitute for PSP. My brain is craving to make banners, but in a program with famililar enough tools. Ding ding ding! I find PhotoImpact, and I'm loving it! Really nifty. Alright! Here, I present to you my little creation. First thing I've made in PhotoImpact. but I'm pretty darn proud of it. Basically, it's an ad for my RPG in the Adventure Arena. The blurred out image on the left shows her appearance in the present era, which is now her past. It really makes the banner, unique. The only thing I don't like is the text, I don't know, but I just don't like how it's so [i]un-goofy[/i]. I mean, I've read parts of Rurouni Kenshin: River of Time, the seriousness of the text defintely doesn't match the un-seriousness of the thread. Overall: Very nice. But I wanted a text to go with the theme of the pictures, which ended up as dark red and navy colored text and Copperplate Gothic Light font. People who read the RPG will think "Hell, that has nothing to do with these characters! They're nuts!" True, very true. I really like the effect of the picture of the person you are in the real era (not Meiji era), it looks very artistic like with paint or something. Have no problems with the other picture either. Yeah...it's pretty hard to have a serious font for a wacky, weird RPG eh? But the font works for the banner. That's what really counts. My poor fingers are frozen from working in a (finished) basement and living in the Chicago area. Stray Cat Strut came from this wallpaper I saw (and have on my desktop ^^). It was really entertaining to see an anime I haven't seen in about half a year. Well, Cyborg 009 is the subject of this banner. 008 is my favorite...*drools again*, and I found this really spiffy image of him! Yay! Well, he could look happier... Cat thing whatever banner: Eh...not to be offensive, but I don't really like it. I can hardly read the font, and the background doesn't look right to me. Plus, the pic on the left is a little fuzzy. 008 Banner: Better, but not one of my favorites of yours either. (I really like the Rurouni Kenshin River of Time Banner. I WANT ONE!!!) (Although I do appreciate you posting, Yuka. ^^) So...I have'nt been doing much recently. I've made three banners in the past five days or so, and one of them was a request. Here's the request one.
