I have a scar....

....well I do!

True story!

Allow me to reminisce...

It all started back in 1998...
It was Christmas Time and I was at Primary School for some Carols by Candlelight thing with my good mate at the time, Ryan.

The basic premise of this Carols thing, is you sit around a stage with performing artists (who funnily enough sing carols...) holding candles that are inside polystyrene cups.
The bottom of the candle sticks out through the bottom of the cup so you can hold it.

Anyway I remember having a hell of a good time until Ryan's cup caught on fire. He started running around like a mad man waving his cup around, all the while I was having a good old laugh.
That was until a little fireball flew off the cup and onto my hand and started burning away the flesh...

It was me who was then the mad man, hollering and stuff.

And to this day I still have that scar on my hand (although not as big...)

May I ask if any of you guys have any disfiguring abnormalities?

Hmm. No, I'd like to say that my body is in perfect condition and that you could only find a more flawless body within the Statue of David.

Seriously though, I'm not really one for body abnormalities but I do know of a couple to recollect for the good readers here.

When I was about 7 or 8 (the age is a blur) and I was playing a little backyard baseball with a couple of friends of mine. We set up these little bases and would go all wiffle ball style, playing to our hearts content. Getting to the point of the story, home plate was placed near one of those underground sprinklers with a broken guard around it. Needless to say, sliding into home plate created quite a gash in the knee, one that bled for a very long time and one that made a permanent scar that's nice and visible for all to see.

Other than that, I'd like to pride myself by saying I've never broken any bones of done anything too harsh to my body that I can recall. I guess I have a tattoo on my right arm and that's technically a scar on my body, but I don't really find it a disfigurment or an abnormality. ;)

Lol I am a scar factory. I have scars all over my back. But they are fading away thank god.

I think the most interesting scar story would be the one on my finger. Its like a ring was carved into my finger. One day I was coming home from my moms house, and I said GoodBye and she was in a rush to pick up my sister, I slammed the car door, and my middle finger got slammed, Then she proceeded to drive away, with me running after the car trying not to get my figner tore off. Lol if you picture it, its pretty funny. So yeah, I have a nice scar and a lil bend in the tip of my figner from it being broken. ^^

Hmmm, I have a piece of pencil lead stuck in my chin from when my little brother stabbed me with a #2. I actually threaten people with pencils now.... Those things hurt.

I also had a large, blue mole-type thing on my cheek that my dermatologist said had to be removed. It ended up being benign, but I'm glad I got it removed anyway. That scar isn't really visible.

I've never broken bones or anything like that, though. I also have a scar on my finger, but that's from playing around with a pocket knife. Such clumsy hands I have!

Err, when I was 4 years old, I got in a fight with a girl and she clawed my ribs. Sure, no harm. But that rib stopped growing until 3 monthes later. So yeah, that rib is smaller and flatter then my other one. ANd also a scar on it for some reason O.O

I recently got this nice little hole in the middle of my right hand from a 0.5 lead pencil, my friend bumped a meowth pencil top to the top of my pencil, and the tip of the pencil where the lead was dispenced hit the middle of my hand and it hurt like hell. Blood was escaping through the hole. 1 guy was laughing because it was jsut a small holeand I was teary eyed. BUt I showed him, now he has a nice red tint in the cheek with outlines what looks like fingers (damn straight, and you know what I did to him :D).

I wonder if that hole is going to recover, you can still see the lead in the hole. But it is closing up. Slowly.

are you going to get the led removed, G/S/B Master? or is it going to just sit in there like that ?
anyways, the only scar I have on my body is a burn on my bottom left arm, although it isn't that noticeable much. That's about the only thing, oh, and i also have a red mark on my body from an ingrown hair thats on my hand, I had another before that but it dissappeared. Also i have a dent in my skin on my nose from when i was takeing off the chicken pox's all over my body. but those are the only things that happened to me. Also, i've never broken any bones, or have had a sprained ankle, or any surgery. ^^

I don't have any interesting stories really. I have a scar on my left shin from a nail that was sticking out of a fence I was climbing when I was 5 or something. That's it though. But my roommate (from last year) Jake, he's a different story. The guy has a BB stuck in his right leg that you can sometimes see. He has also been shot completely through with an arrow (a couple of inches in from his right side), which is a pretty funny story. His brother did it, but I don't think he holds that much of a grudge. Anyway, it's pretty sad that I'm telling you about SOMEONE ELSE's injuries, but Jake would never join this message board so I guess it's ok. Anyway I just felt like posting something.

Ooo, scar discussion! ^_^;

Ahem.

Yeah, well...I had chicken pox when I was little. And one of them was on my knee...and I made the mistake of scratching it. So as you can imagine, it became all giant and gross. And it left a big scar.

Now, generally, you hear the story that chicken pox scars last forever. Right? They never go away?

Wrong!

When I look at my knee today...it's as lovely and beautiful as it always was, pre-pox. No scar, no nothing. It's as pretty as a man's knee can get.

So there you go. That's just about my only scar-related story, I guess. Enjoy.

Well, I do have one story. This happened when I was in second grade. I think the year was 1995. My best friend was a girl named Emily. She was three years younger than me.

It all started when Emily and I decided to play house. I put her in a todder stroller that you zip up on the outside so that the toddler doesn't get out. Anyways, since the stroller was too heavy for me to push down the handles to make the front wheel go up, I held the handle bars with my hands underneath it. We were walking along side the side walk and I decided to go up and down this one empty steep driveway to get some momentum. I tripped while running. I fell and the stroller handle bars came down too with me. my hands were trapped underneath the bars and I was dragged down the steep driveway.I could see the blood staining the cement as I went along. I finally got my hands out from under the bars and I started to run to my house which wasn't that far away. I then heard a scream. I turned around. Emily was still in the stroller and couldn't get out. A white truck came around the corner straight at her. Despite the extreme pain I was in, I ran out in front of the car and pulled her out of the street. I saved my best friend's life that day.

After that incedent, I had to dip my hands in a pan of hydrogen proxide every day and put on new dressings. The the proxide was painful! It made me scream and wince each time. It took a full month for my hands to totally heal and in order for me to use them again. Now, I still have scars on my each and every one of my knuckles. They remind me of what I did for my friend, and how I was brave.

I've never had chicken pox.

The only scar I have is from a surgery. I had a cyst on my left wrist that had to be removed a few years back. The scare has gone from a pink-ish color to the color of my actual skin, although it's still noticable if you look.

The only thing that's weird about it is that it's right over the veins in my wrist. So basically, I look like I had a botched suicide attempt on that arm. It's horizontal, not vertical, though heh.

I have a scar on my right leg.

My sister tried hitting me with a broom, as she swung it in the air she knocked over a glass and it broke. She broomed it up into a neat pile at the entrance of the kitchen and left to bed. The next morning as I walked into the kithen I tripped and fell over the glass, my shin slamming into most of the pieces. So I had a very gigantic scar, two actually and they were open cuts. I went to my sister's room as she was the only one home and she said, in her state of unconciousness (sleep), "Go put some alcohol on it." So I grabbed the alcohol and ran a q-tip down the inside of the scar a few times. It didn't hurt, I'm under the assumption that I was in shock. I was pretty sure I needed stitches, but my parents decideded they didn't want to take me and thus I tied a sock around it and that was that.

[I love telling the story of how I got a scar on my right foot ^__^ ]

I was about 5-6 years old and my oldest sister and I had been to a nearby school ground (probably going on the swings and such).
She had her bike with her and I was too tired to walk home, so she told me to get up on the "luggage carrier". (that was the only word for it I could find - surely there is a better one ??)

She made it very clear to me that I had to hold my legs out, which I thought would be no problem.

But after a minute or so of holding my legs out, I tired and looked for somewhere to put my feet.
I thought I saw a piece of metal that looked big enough to put my feet on, so I decided to ignore my sisters "recommendation" and rested my feet.

Suddenly she stopped and I thought she was mad at me for not doing what she told me.
But she didn't look back at me, she just grunted and said something like "It won't budge"...

I looked down and saw my right foot stuck in the wheel.....

From thereon I have a lot of "black outs", meaning I was probably in shock and maybe I passed out.
But I remember lying on the ground, foot stuck in the wheel and my sister panicking like mad - I was bawling my eyes out, of course.
A guy on a bike stopped and helped me get loose somehow.

When I got home (we were just around the corner from my house when this happened, incidentally *lol*) our parents weren't home.
More panicking !

No one knew what to do, so I ended up lying on the kitchen floor - pretty dazed out of it ^__^;

My parents rushed home when they heard what happened (so someone obviously called them) and I was [thankfully] placed in a comfy bed and well looked after.

**********

I went to the hospital a day or so later, got some x-rays done and a check up by [incompetent] doctors.
Nothing was broken - but I still couldn't walk on it. ~_^
I guess something was torn off, or just bruised *shrugs*

Spent a couple of weeks on crutches and healed up pretty quickly.

So the lesson here is : ..... keep your legs spread... when biking ! ~_^

- Mimmi

EDIT: I still have a scar and I think some nerves got damaged, cause I can't feel anything if I touch it.

My sister still feels guilty about this, by the way ^_^;

Well, when I was a kid, I got chickenpox like everybody else does. And now, there's an extremely awkward dot-scar that sits on the base of my thumb. But that's nothing compared to my brother's scar.

Now, it's not that big of a scar. But how he got it is.... interesting. My brother was in either second or third grade, and he was jumping around the playground as usual. So, he jumps off the slide and, much to his chagrin, ends up jamming his tooth into his knee. Apparently, he didn't notice until someone told him, but his knee was bleeding tremendously. So, lucky kid, he gets to go home early. On the last day of school. :bawl: Unfair. But I digress, there's a scar there now. And the aformentioned tooth was pretty loose, too.

Don't laugh.

When I was in fourth grade, we were outside on the basketball court in gym, and we were excercising. Our gym teacher, Mrs. Erwin, the hag, told us to go out into the field. So, I turn around and start running and BANG! I run into a pole. It hurt like hell, and blood went every where. They called me blood head for a while, and now I have a big scar from where I hit the pole.

I was learning to ride my bike, back when I was in first grade, when I received my first scar. My grandparents came over and I decided to show them how I could ride my bike. Unfortunately for me, we lived on a gravel road and it had rained the night before. I fell while turning a corner and put my left hand out to break my fall. A piece of gravel cut open the lower right portion of my hand.

I went to the hospital and got is sown up with two stitches. Now I have a rather thick white line across that portion of my left hand.

Now skip ahead seven years?

I was playing basketball with some friends in eighth grade, when somebody decided it?d be ok to knock me backwards in their pursuit of the ball. I fell to the ground, again reaching out with my left hand to break my fall. A piece of glass cut my hand about an inch below my other scar.

No stitches were required for this scar and it?s a little less noticeable than the other one.

So now I have more or less parallel scars on the bottom right portion of my left hand.

Maybe next time I should use my right hand to break my fall?

*pats her hair down and takes the stage*

well, it was either my 9th or 10th birthday party, and at this point my cats were outside cats (not anymore, long story) and so the first guests to arrice were ciara and jasmin, the twins.

I was so excited and i wanted everyone to like my party, so --knowing that these two were partial to animals-- i decided to pick up our cat Piggy (used to be extremely shy of strangers) so that they could properly pet them.

WELL, that didn't go over so well. He decided that he would climb up over my shoulder and then dig his claws into my chest so that he could propel himself off into the yard, only to disappear in the neighbor's bushes.

Now, at this time i was quite the boob-less creature, so i wasn't very concerned about the three scars that later formed. My mom was though, and she got mad cuz i picked at the scars and stuff.

SO, now i have these three scars going across my right boob. :therock:

Here's a scar for ya:

When I was about 7 I was playing with my friends down the street, and they had a dog, a VERY large Boxer. My friends and I decided to go outside and pet the 'doggy' who proceeded to roll over in a nice way so we could rub it's tummy. However, when it was my turn the dog jumped up and 'nipped' (to put it lightly) my face, throwing little 7 year old me against a tree. To make a long story short, I went to the hospital and ended up with 20 stitches. I still have a scar above my eyebrow, although it's not so visible anymore.

I also have a little piece of pencil lead stuck in my hand right next to my thumb, but other than that, I've never broken any bones. ^_^

Well let's see when I was little 4 or 5 I was at daycare and a boy ran over at me and bit my left cheek. It scarred but now you can hardly see it. When I was in second or third grade I was out on the playground when some kid ran over to me and bit my left arm. It started to bleed really badly and I was rushed to the nurses office. When I got there it was still bleeding and the nurse said it would likely scar. At 10 I burn my thumb on the car lighter. I know have a spiral on my htunb print. When I was twelve I was at my cousins house playing jumping on the bed I fell off and some how impaled my knee on her dresser. So now I have a white round scar on my knee. I have several on my make from chickenpox on my back and legs. My right shoulder I have a scar from one of my friend stabbing me with a pencil(non-mechanical)I also have multiple scars from my cats using me as a launching pad. Most recently my cat bit my hand three times (learned not to hold her when the vacuum is running >_<). Now I have holes on the top and bottom of my hand. Looks like someone was ramming nails through it or something. I also have tattoos.

I've been in and out of surgery more ties than I can remember for operations on my leg to have a cyst (hole as opposed to lump) operated on. I have a series of very faint circular scars and one three or four-inch long scar at the top of my left leg. They don't bother me much- it's not like I ever moon anyone to show them off.

Another one is on my right knee- when I was seven I was on holiday in Cornwall at a little village of holiday cottages with a communal playground. There was a family with quadruplets staying near us and one day they all decided it would be fun to blow sand in my face. It stung like crazy, I couldn't see and I fell onto some sharp stones which created a nice nick in my leg. A fair amount of sand got in there. Since I've grown so much it's moved round to the side of my leg, but it's still fairly visible.

I have a timy lump on my left thumb where I dug my fingernails into my skin so hard I almost pulled a chunk off. I hate bullies.

The last one is on my right hand, in the lower-left corner on the base of the palm. I don't remember getting it, but aparrently I fell on some broken glass when I was two.

And those are my scars. I've had plenty of bruises with more interesting stories, but thankfully bruises don't last so long.

Scars, scars, scars...yeah have had too many I can't remember.

Here are my worst ones, but may not be as bad as others.
One day, I walked into the office (a room in my house where the computer is). In the office, the chair to sit in while surfing the internet had a plastic mat under it, and under the plastic mat was a very sharp pencil, and unfortunately the pencil's point not under the mat. I slid across the edge of the mat, the pencil into my foot, and it really didn't hurt, though blood began to get on the floor. It was tough to take the pencil out, but I did it successfully. It stopped bleeding shortly after ice treatment.

And you know those little lamps that go in the ground? Well I tripped over one, slid across the sidewalk like a rock star, the skin on both of my knees almost peeled off. I passed out, and next thing I remember I was on the sidewalk, babysitter holding ice and paper towels on my knees, and an old man was in front of me with a newspaper. I don't remember; this same incident might have occured in a dream, and the old man was in it. My mind is so confused I have no idea.

Trying to chop off your finger with a knife; it doesn't work for me. Sadly.

P.S. I have never had the chicken pox either.

Ahem.

I have a scar still quite visable from the age of two. The strange thing is, I've been told three different stories as to what happened.

1. I was running around(i learned how to walk quite quickly) in circles untill i got inside the kitchen and crashed into a chair. My head split open.

2. My father left the door open to the basement(3 concrete steps to the bottom) I loomed over and tripped. My head split open.

3. I was playing with mega blocks when my 16 year older brother decides to mess with me. he thwapped me with a Curtain rod meaning to hit my stomach. He hit my head, and it split open.

The end to each of these stories were the same. I was rushed to the hospital, blood gushing, and I got about 10 stitches(a small gash apparently) Now it looks like someone stapled my head horizontally. Please pardon me whilst I try to remember what I had for breakfast...

You are all rookies when it comes to scars!

Sooooo many scars.....soooooo many stories....where to begin?!?!

Quick summary: When I was 2 I ran into a brick fireplace..with my head, got a nice scar right above my left eye. That made my family think I knocked my eye out since it was bleeding so much.

Ran into the corner of a glass coffee table...with my head, got a nice scar on my chin. That bled alot too.

Tons of bites and scratches from my work with animals at the vet clinic.

But the best one:

When I was three years old I stuck my right index finger in the gears of some farm equipment, mangled it (not to be too graphic), had to have it amputated. Have a large scar on my hand that runs from my wrist, across the top of my hand, down around the area where my index finger should be, down the palm of my hand to about the middle of my palm.

Ok, all I can say is thank heaven that my dad had really good health insurance on me! lol Perhaps he should have kept me in a giant hampster ball...might have been safer that way.

Now if someone starts a thread about broken bones....I have some stories there too! :P

Ahhh...the chicken pox. I have a scar on the tip of my nose from scratching mine. It's not that big though.

When I was four I was running down the stairs with a toy and I tripped. The toy hit me right on the bridge of the nose and I got a cut, but it didn't break. The scar there looked like my glasses were pushed in too hard.

Hmmm...I have this really neat scar on my left arm where I had gotten cut by a knife. When it healed up, some of my freckles were pulled toward the scar and they now connect with others. It kinda looks like a flower.

In all, the worst scar I have is across my tummy. I was climbing a tree when I was 7, and there was this little stub where a branch had broken off. It was right by my stomach and slipped when reaching for the next branch and swung to the side and the stub cut right across my tummy. I fell out of the tree too. My dad worked for the First Aid Squad in our town so he brought me there instead of the hospital because it was not like my insides were falling out. They patched my up and sent my home with stitches. I couldn't get up for weeks without help for fear of the stitches tearing. It left a hell of a scar.

I have an engraved "third eye" on my forehead.I was born with it. It's not huge or anything, but it's so dark and noticable. It looks like the pupil of your eye, so people think I'm a born demon or something...

My wrists have also been slit. Not deep enough to kill me,though. One was with me and my friend...she accidentally dropped the knife while we were cooking dinner together. The other was with me and the razor. It dropped and I tried to catch it,but it came out the other way. I still have two light brown scars there. :p
