Syk3
Heh, silly smiley. *strokes it (it being the smiley, Shin! >:o)* What? o_o Yeah, so my friend requested this banner months ago, and I've finally got to working on it. I've been taking his advice on it as I've gone along all day, but then he signed off, so now I'm just of stuck on what I should do next. So here's what I have so far. The story: My friend recently went to see one of Bruce Campbell's* underground movies at some theater in DC, and met him there in person, so now he wants a banner to comemorate him. The request: These three pictures; the mummy in the middle, the Evil Dead one on the left, and Elvis on the right. It should look "dark and evil". I went on from there, and then showed him for more advice. What do you guys think so far? Comments and critique. *EDIT: Spelled right, now. :o
Semjaza
It's Campbell, like the soup heh. I would absolutely love for him to sign my Book of the Dead edition of the Evil Dead DVD. Anyway, I think this turned out rather well. It's suitably dark, the typeface choice suits it and even the generally over-used scanlines style was pulled off surprisingly well. Solid banner. The only thing that seems off about it is around the center. For some reason part of the scanlines seem noticably more dark than the rest of them. However, the lines in the left picture seem dark as well (not as dark as the center, but almost) so I feel it almost helps blend the two together. Speaking of blend, for some reason the blending of the middle picture into the right picture sticks out as very cool. ^_^ Nice work.

Other than that, though, I left the scanlines alone.
Arcadia
Methinks the banner is very fitting for the Evil Dead man. I'm glad you got the chainsaw in it, heh, cause I just don't think it'd be complete without it. And I'm guessing the thing with the scanlines is just that the lighter background in the middle makes them stand out more. It doesn't bother me a whole lot, but I imagine it'd be pretty easy to just lighten them a bit if it's something you want to fix. You know, Evil Dead always sort of scared me. Not that the movies themselves are terrifying, but I just have to wonder about the guy who made it all up - I'm sure his mind is a very big, dark, and scary place. >.>;;
