[B]If dog meat was culturally acceptable here, I doubt most people would care about eating it. What if we went to some country where people kept cows as pets and considered them man's best friend? Would they be disgusted that most people here eat hamburgers? Probably.

Actually, the Indian people do feel that way...
Thats for the people that don't know. <_<

Actually, there have been some studies that show its not all that healthy to eat meat from animals that eat meat. *shrugs*

So, if you went to Burger King, and they had the Golden Retriever Quarter pounder, would you eat it?

It wouldn't bother me to do so in the slighest.

Well, in Korea, dog meat is considered a delicacy. They call it Kagoge. That said, if something is translated to you as kagoge on a menu, try it i you really want to, but don't say nobody never warned you.

People actually raise dogs for food and then sell them to resturaunts for money. When my husband was there there were these two Korean soldiers at the base who were raising a dog to buy a washing machine. They got the money, bought the washing machine then bought another dog, They were going to sell that one to buy a dryer.

However, they only used the large breed dogs (collie cutletts anyone?) They keep the small annoying ones as pets  I think it should be the otherr way around, but that's just one person's opinion.

An ex roommate of ours used to brag that he did eat Kagoge while he was stationed in Korea. He even bragged about knowing what it was. I guess he's a prime example of the phrase, you are what you eat then ne?

As for the whole food argument-well if you were hungry you'd eat anything. The Japanese army even started to eat their POWs near the end of WW2 if that's any indication. And the Donner party ate the dead as well so how's that for logic. I think I'd rather eat dog than person, but that's just my culture.
