Has anyone seen Ceres? If you have, what do you think of it and who's your fave character? I think it's awesome. It's kinda creepy, but it's cool. My favorite character is Touya, because he's so cool (he's just the cold, quiet type). Plus he can kick anyone's butt.

I love it i have read all the mangas and seen the first 1/2 of the series.. but the mangas are a billion times better then the series... i dunno how anyone can like toya!! he has no personality!!!! and he is jsut an idiot!!!! I like Yuhi.... if you don't like Yuhi you have problems.. and of course shuro.. she only gets one episod ein the series and she is in like more that 1/2 of the manga!!! the series is confusing too.. and i know everything that happens so i am not suprised by anything but they screwed it up big time.. they left too much out and now it makes no sense.. but they did that for Fushigi yugi as well...
oh well... i still like ceres....

But where did they come up with ceres: celestial legend??? ayashi no ceres is the real why no tjust leave it?? those idiots!!!

I have always wanted to see the series just because it was done by Yu Watase and I love Fushigi Yugi. I've seen the whole series, I own it, and I have the first OVA. So I figured it'd be pretty good. I just don't have the money to go out and buy it and the Vampire Princess Miyu TV series interested me a whole lot more..teeheee...

And I agree with the whole name changing thing. That's so STUPID!

All about Ayashi no Ceres...
Talk about them here.........

ANYWAY, I love Ayashi no Ceres so much. Yu Watase's story always has a sad/touching/emotional ending, just like the her previous work Fushigi Yuugi. Of course there's lots of bishounens (beautiful boys)in there.
But I do really have a soft spot for TOOYA ^_^ He looks hot with his red dyed hair.
Aki is so cute but he died at the end of the anime. Tooya and Aya looks good together. Whose that specs guy,......I forgot his name. Ahh...the one who works in the MIKAGE CORPORATION.
I think he likes Aya too. Ceres on the other hand, looks so serious. Just can't imagine how she can be the CO-STAR. In the novel I read, it said that Tooya died after saving Aya and his baby. The anime is AWESOME ^_^ got to love it so much.

It's so sad....+_+
The comic in English is not out yet here. But I'll be waiting for them.

I read the first two manga. I think that it is pretty good. It has a very interesting plot. I think that the plot is very well thought out.
The plot about the twin girl, I forgot her name, on her 16th birthday, it was a bit shocking to see her family try and kill her like that.
Since I never really read any reviews beforehand. It doesn't really seem like a horror story to me yet. I would like to read more sometime. I recommend it.

Whoo...you have got to work on post quality. Starting a thread off like that is spam and should normally be deleted...

I like the series well enough, but my younger sister is obsessed with it. She has pretty much all the DVDs and most of the manga, too. We are big Yu Watase fans at my home. ^_^

I've only watched the first volume of the TV series, so I couldn't give you a really good opinion. But what I saw so far, I liked.

Yeah, I've read the first two books and own the first DVD. I really like it so far. It has a very interesting plot and I love Yu Watase's art it's beautiful. I really want to get ahold of the next few books soon, I think I'll just order them.... Ya know, I say that for everything I want and it never happens... lol.
QA you are lucky, I'm the only person that likes anime/manga in my family.... well ok, my dad likes it... but he doesn't count. He is an art teacher and only likes it for the art.
But I like the manga more than the anime. For many reasons.

Yeah well I have 1-4 of the manga and well really love it. Yu Watase is one of the best in my opinion. The art is beautiful, the story lines are good, you got romance, plus it's funny. Addition 5 comes out this month! Yay! At least I think it does....and yeah QA you are lucky. My bro likes anime but not anything shojo at all and thinks thats crap. That's what he says bout all of my anime and manga....well most of it. And hey I'm in that RPG too. I'm a guy tho....

I was at the Comic store a few days ago and I saw the dvd for Ceres-Celestial legend. Since a good friend of mine already brought me into the Fushugi Yugi tales I decided to buy this one on whim. It turns out that I am actually in love with this series. I still haven't seen much of the series itself but I still seem to be addicted. I was wondering if anyone is into it and where I can Buy, get, howmany are there etc.
The manga fans are also welcome to tell me what they think.

Ceres is a good series. My younger sister bought a couple of the DVDs and a few of the manga and she seems to like it very much. I haven't watched everything all the way through, but the bits and pieces of storyline that I caught were pretty interesting.

As for where to buy, there's always Best Buy, Suncoast, and Media Play. If you don't have these staple stores, then the best place lse is the internet. If you want to know more about the series, a search under "Ayashi no Ceres" would probably yeild more results than the crappy American title.

Ceres....*huggles Megumi*

I love this series. Along with FY I'd say its a favorite. But so far I only have the manga and I AM LOVING IT!!!

Can't wait till the next volume is released. But so far the storyline is kinda complex but I am getting along with it easily but still hate the fact of the love 5some thingy going on.. you know who's all involved with that so I'd not name names at this point in time...

But the character design is great and the anime is something I'll watch later...

Im not too psyhed about that yet. But one day!!!!

I love this series, or what I've seen/read. I only have read the first three books and have the first DVD, but I love it any way. I can't get it off my mind on what's going to happen. If only I had some money!! >.< I am always broke and out library doesn't have it.
But, on to Ceres.... When I read the first book, I instantly fell in love. It has great characters that interact with eachother so differently, and that leaves you guessing on what will happen between two people or more.
The storyline is another thing that captures you... or me at least. I love it, there really isn't much more to say other than that.. I find it a wonderful series. ^^
As far as knowing where to find it...... I would say any book store that sells comics, you should look there. Also, probably Best Buy, SunCoast, some video gaming stores have anime, and internet. Hope that helps a little.

Ceres is quite good. It suprised me when I actually sat down and read it. My sister was cleaning out her room. Noticing the first volume sitting in the 'garbage' box, I decided to save the work. She saw me and told me it wasn't very good. But I instantly enjoyed it by the time I closed it. I only bought the next couple volumes and have started buying the anime on dvd. Great in my eyes:D

I have read the first two books of the Ceres manga. It is pretty cool, though I feel that it is a bit slow at first to get the story going. I believe that people should give the anime a another chance before they shun it. I thought that Ceres was boring at first, but after reading the second book of the series, I now love Ceres very much.

First I have to say that I love Watase Yu's work. Fushigi Yugi was my third anime ever and I enjoyed every minute of that. Even when it started to get a bit well-dark.
Nuriko dies!!!!!:bawl:
Ayashi no Ceres (which kinda translates to Premonition of Ceres) or Ceres the Celestrial Legend) Is quite dark from the beginning which starts out with that mummified hand and Aki getting wounded. Then the rest of the Makage family starts to hunt down Aya. (I know I can say this w/o spoilers because this is in the first episodes and parts of the manga)

My only greivence with the dub and the translated manga is how they traded the famous Japanese pop stars for famous American pop stars. Aya can't seem to decide if she's J-Lo or Jessica and I'd rather they stuck to the original singers.

The plot of Ayashi no Ceres is much deeper than Fushigi Yugi in my opinion and everything is a lot darker from the get go. I can't really say much about the anime since I only saw 3 dubbed episodes, But I've read a it of the manga and there's some seriously twisted stuff in there. I can't wait to read the rest.

While the story of Ceres is not bad (not bad at all), the anime and how it was done . . . was terrible. I've only read the first two of the manga, and it was more than enough for me to want to see the anime. However, after watching the anime, I sort of decided that I no longer had any desire to read the rest of the manga. It's not that the plot turned out badly; I just kind of lost interest. I'm really enjoying Fushigi Yuugi as it keeps coming out; Yuu Watase has a very good sense of humor--especially about herself!

Sorry oshi, I liked Ayashi no Ceres, better than Fushigi Yuugi ^_-

I read tha Ova, manga
Toya was very ill and he might die leaving Aya with his daughter, what's her name? Sorry, I forgot her name. Really, if I'm not wrong, Toya died after saving Aya & his daughter. I don't know if there's a continuation. If there's one, then maybe Toya isn't dead.

I had almost no interest in this series until I was told that it had certain things in common with Gravitation. I realize, obviously, that Ceres isn't a shounen-ai anime. However, apparently the main pairings in Gravitation and Ceres are somewhat similar--i.e., both shows feature a young, perhaps slightly naive teenager blindly chasing after an older man. I don't know how accurate the comparison is, but it really piqued my curiousity. I tend to love rooting for those kinds of unbalanced relationships.

Anyway, it'd be great if someone could comment on the romantic aspects of Ceres (preferably without giving away any spoilers). I've never seen Fushigi Yuugi or read Yuu Watase's various manga series, so I don't really have anything to contrast the anime with. Does it have a satisfactory ending?

Well, the romance in it is that sort of convoluted, I-can't-have-you-but-I-want-you kind of stuff. (Yuu Watase does that all the time. Really, in just about every one of her stories.)

There's the dark stranger, the young girl, and then craziness, Watase-style ensues. It's really hard to describe. The plot goes deeper than it appears to, crossing lines between mythologically-based and scientifically-based, but the ending is anything that can logically be explained. It makes sense for the story, but it's one of those reaches from reality, I think.

If you do decide to go after this series, do it manga-wise. Do NOT bother getting the anime, unless you love the story enough to be able to see past the anime's terrible set-up, animation, voice-acting (even the Japanese voices are poorly-timed and annoying).

The manga at least is well drawn, and you don't have to wait forever to hear Toya finally say the words that are being spelled out in the subs on the bottom of the screen . . . ><;;
