Welcome to the Dragonial: Symphony of Dragons RPG. If you wish to look back at someone's profile or the storyline, just click here to return to the recruitment thread. Your introductory post shall be taking place after you've found the instruments (which all of you have clearly stated that event in your profiles anyways). Do begin your life with the instruments one week after the capture of the Dragonial (which would be the time you recieved your instruments). Everyone would've found them at the same time. There is no time difference between them. Let's get started >: D

-----

MaCarthur had taken on his father's ideas ever since he was a lad. In other words, he'd always did what his father couldn't or didn't have time for. Most of his brilliant schemes were lead by young MaCarthur, even at the early age of seven. He was tutored by the best so he became the best. He even grew to be smarter than his old man.

As such, there was no suprise that Edreck asked him to take some scrolls of importance to the town of Mallenfire, which was located near the border of Silverside and Rojah. It was a few day trip and he heavily stocked a cart and horse with food and supplies, preparing his son for the journey. MaCarthur knew his father was just spoiling him rotten so he decided to unload a few items unnoticed. He never needed all teh stuff his father gave him, but he didn't mind taking his favorite pleasures with him.

The scrolls were tightly latched onto his belt in special holsters made for such items. He strapped the belt on and got his traveling clothes together. Up in his room, he made sure to grab three main items that he could never leave unattended while he was gone: the three instruments. He was aware of their powers and how he miraculously knew how to play them, though his music lessons never taught the piccilo, drum, or the foreign Forlorneth instrument known as the guitar.

Just as he carefully shoved these items into his bag, he noticed his father had entered the room. "Last minute prepartions?"

Though MaCarthur was aware of his presence, he was still startled by his deep voice as if he'd never heard it before. It was a large, booming voice even for such a small man. "Yes, father. Must always be prepared."

"Just like I always say," his father chuckled. Edreck rubbled a hand across the curtains, feeling the red silk. "Well, my men have fully prepared the cart. I... noticed you sent some stuff back to the galleys."

"Yes," MaCarthur said sheepishly. "But I won't need that much foo-"

"You never know!" his father interrupted. "As far as I'm concerned, you may find some of that food missing from either thieves, animals, or just plain losing it. You always should have extra."

Though MaCarthur could carry out the arguments forever, he never did. Obeying his father, he nodded and stepped out of the room, Edreck closing the door behind them. They both stepped outside and up to the large wooden cart, the sound of rickedy woodwork filling the air. Edreck and MaCarthur were never big on goodbyes so a good slap on the back was done and MaCarthur was off. Besides, MaCarthur was only going to be gone for about a week.

Nevertheless, a journey would begin filled with questions that may never be answered.

Do your stuff people. I have to go so my first intro was short, but I got my point across :)

OOC: *giggles at the drum sticks* I think this will teach you character to listen to his dadums... T_T

IC: Kerrigan jumped from the tree branch and felt her heart began to beat with excitment, she had been waiting for a traveler to come by for hours now, but only those that passed were transporting cattle or sheep. But, from what she could tell from this cart, it had some food packed away with it and Kerrigan hadn't eaten in about a day. Although she felt slightly sorry for the traveler who would soon have to head back to where ever he was coming from, she was more hungry then concerned at the moment.

All she had to figure out now was how to get the food from the cart, she wasn't one when it came to hurting mere travelers, but if he was tough, she may have to make an exception... but just this once! Kerrigan glanced around, looking for a stick or any other thing she could use to nock a person unconsious. Seeing nothing in her sight, kerrigan glanced down and her eyes spoted the silver trumpet hanging from her neck, she grinned and then scrambled off near the side of the road where she hid in some bushes.

She waited, crouched low for a total of seven minuets until she could hear the creeking of the cart wheels on the dirt road, silently and sneekily, Kerrigan peared through a gap in the bush and noticed that the driver was a young man not too far from her own age. Kerrigan grinned again, she always felt not so bad when stealing from an ickle boy. The cart finally made its way near the bush, not really expecting what would be coming up next.

With a kick of the legs and pull from the back, Kerrigan flew from the bush landing on the rider, and wacking him upside the head with her banjo, which was actually blocked from the ground, losing their balances, both of them fell from the cart and toppled onto the dirt road.

OOC: :p
----------
The two scrambled to their feet, silence making the atmosphere bitter dreadful. Upon the attack, MaCarthur noticed some of the food had been damaged or thrown to the dirt. He looked at it morosely.

Kerrigan, instead, took this opportunity to leap MaCarthur again with the same attack, except succeeding this time with a good thromp on his head. MaCarthur fell to the ground and she quickly made her way onto the cart. "That wasn't so hard," he told herself aloud. "A few scrapes here and there, but all in all, I think I--" She was rudely interrupted by MaCarthur jumping her and this time, knocking her to the ground.

His sword was drawn.

"What business do you have trying to harm me and take my cart?" he said, sword tip nearly puncturing Kerrigan's skin.

"Just what you said, actually," she replied. "I want to harm you and steal your cart." She felt the sword dig deeper, but still not break the skin. "FOOOR good reason!" she squealed. MaCarthur slowly let the sword up only to allow Kerrigan the advantage of tossing him on his back with her weapon drawn.

"Are we just going to keep on doing this?" MaCarthur asked, feeling uneasy to be in the position he just placed his foe in only mere seconds ago.

"We'll continue it until I get what I want," was Kerrigan's swift reply. She unsheathed another one of her daggers and poked it at MaCarthur's side, keeping him in a deadly place. "Now please just stay lying here why I run away with all your food, supplies, cart, and horse." She made him toss aside his sword 'til it was under the cart. She then stood up, daggers still aimed at MaCarthur's still form. "I can hit a target right on if I want," she warned, backing away towards the cart.

She jumped on and smiled. "Thank you for your kind hospitality," she laughed and lashed the reins only to have the horse jerk and toss her off. The cart was taken away at lightning speed, driverless. Kerrigan looked up and coughed. "Well, that could've turned out better." She suddenly saw a familiar sword point in front of her face. MaCarthur appeared on the other end. She grinned nervously. "Yes?"

"You lost all my food and supplies as well as my transportation."

"Silly me," she said, trying to crawl backwards, but recieved no luck. She smiled nervously again. She was stuck, but MaCarthur wasn't exactly in a good spot himself. To put it in proper terms for the both of them: they're screwed.

OOC: XD fun!

IC: Although this young lad's sword was pointed directly in between Kerrigan's eyes, she had one of her daggers hovering only an inch from his chest... hm... yes, it did seem they were both in a tight spot.
"Put down your weapon." The man ordered. Kerrigan just smirked "Does he think i'm that easy?"
"Put down yours first." She argued back, this was returned with an angry glare from the man, but he wasn't going to give up either. He pushed his sword a bit closer to her face, but she did the same with her dagger to his chest. They exchanged glares with each other, Kerrigan still smiling slightly, but getting pretty un comfurtable in this off position.

While in the position, Kerrigan checked out his attire. Normally dressed, only a bot more fancier then others. He had a drum around his waist, a piccolo, and guitar starpped around his back, similar to how Kerrigan had her banjo.
"Damn... He's not half that bad looking..." Kerrigan thought, she quickly shook the idea from her mind and got back to trying to hold out longer then him.
Suddenly, he seemed to loosen his grip on the sword and glanced down near his "enemy's" chest. Kerrigan felt her face turn red with anger and she knocked the sword from his hand, pointing one of her daggers under his chin.
"See something you like?" She asked agrily, he just glared at her as if saying "Why the hell would I do that?!" He then looked down at her belt where she held her irish Whistle and at the banjo that she had wacked him upside the head with before.

"Where did you get those instruments?" He asked.

Veil was headed towards Mallenfire, walking by a stream in the forest. She came upon the road, and decided for once that she would take the easier path, since there was no one in sight. She usually didn't take to people that well...it was easier avoiding them. Suddenly, the sound of a wagon and running horses reached her ears. She went to the side of the road, where she blended in with the shade and trees. Someone would have to look very hard to find her.

A wagon came into view..with no driver. Veil stepped out again, and then reined in the horses. She looked in the wagon, and was almost amazed by all the supplies in it. This could be very useful, and would no doubt last her a long time. Finders keepers...

She took the reins, and it wasn't long until she was in Mallenfire. She booked a room at one of the inns, using money she found in the wagon, and then made sure the horse was comfortable in the stables. Veil then sat in the tavern, sipping her drink and thinking about the owner of the wagon. Should she have taken it? There had been a bag - a leather bag, and she opened it now, hiding the contents from the other few people in the tavern.

There were three instruments: a piccolo, a drum, and a guitar.

Alright, alright, woah woah woah. This RPG just got really messed up and fast. First off, I don't see why I'd be amazed that people have instruments. There are bards in this world. The only way they'd be interesting to me, or any other Dragona for that matter, is if they summoned dragons and the person saw that. So watch out for that.

Also, Cyriel, in my first post, I said it'd take a week to get to Mallenfire from where I was and you were right next to where I was when you found my runaway cart. It wouldn't make any sense if you got there within less than day. I suggest revamping that =/

Lastly, Mr. Zidargh :) You had me say "Seeing you have just walked out of Forlorneth..." and such, Forlorneth is nowhere near where we are at the moment. We're in the woods just outside my own castle. I just thought that was silly ^_^

Yeah, so we've gotta clean up some of these messes and think before we post anything rash like that. ;) I'm not mad, but it just messes the whole RPG up if we don't abide the laws of physics here.

A figure in a crimson cloak was standing motionless by the side of the road, obscured from view by several trees. He was holding a staff in one hand, using the other to bend a branch so he could watch the road.

There were two people currently fighting upon it, one of which was a professed thief. He didn?t like thieves?

Letting go of the branch he leaped onto the road, his hood falling back to reveal his weather-beaten face.

Jedgar: ?You?d be wise to surrender thief. I?d hate to have to hurt you??

Thief: ?First of all, it?s Kerrigan. Secondly, I haven?t stolen anything.?

Jedgar: ?You are directly responsible for the loss of this lad?s cart.?

MaCarthur: ?I?m not a la-?

Kerrigan: ?Accidents happen.?

Jedgar grinned. It wasn?t often you met a good tempered thief.

Jedgar: ?Then how about we put our weapons down and go locate the cart.?

MaCarthur and Kerrigan.: *In unison* ?You first!?

Jedgar rolled his eyes and dropped his staff so that it lay parallel to him about six inches from his feet.

Neither Kerrigan nor MaCarthur moved.

Jedgar: ?Well??

Eyeing each other suspiciously, both of the combatants slowly began to lower their weapons. Then, suddenly, they both raised their weapons back up with lighting speed.

Jedgar grinned.

It appeared both of them had tried to take advantage of the truce to get the drop on the other. Both had failed.

They?d wasted enough time.

In the blink of an eye, Jedgar extended his foot and kicked his staff straight up to his outstretched hands. He then proceeded to deftly disarm both MaCarthur and Kerrigan with a blinding series of blocks and disarming moves.

Both of Kerrigan?s daggers and MaCarthur?s sword were thrown several meters away.

He suspected that Kerrigan might have a few more, as his well-trained eye had spotted suspiciously shaped bulges. Hopefully she?d refrain from drawing them?

Jedgar: ?Much better. So, who?s up for locating the cart??

OOC: A word of advice, an RPG needs to get straight to the point in order to survive, it can get quite dull, I've suffered so many deaths of my RPG's but doing some weird journey right in the beginning of the RPG. To be honest, I really don't understand this world at all, there was no hinting that Mallenfire was far away from Forlorneth. If this is the case, I know I won't be able to follow it because there is no world map or anything and I need strong foundations. Therefore, I'm afraid that I will have to leave this RPG, I apologise. Once it has been recognised that I'm out, I will delete this post as it is practically spam.

OOC: Well, I didn't mean that Mallenfire wasn't near Forlorneth. Go ahead and say it is. I'm just saying my current location isn't near it. Sorry if there are any misunderstandings and I'm also sorry you must leave :( This RPG took a bad start and as such, I'm trying to fix everything around here. I will now go off of Boba's post and hopefully this'll be better for now on.
----------
The search wasn't as pleasant as could be expected. MaCarthur and Kerrigan walked behind Jedgar like mindless slaves to their slave master, Jedgar keeping an ever-watchful eye on the two. Every now and then they'd sneer at the other, but Jedgar kept them in line. Obviously no one knew who anyone was.

MaCarthur was the prince of the place they were in, though he didn't act as such and definately did not reveal it. Kerrigan ws a master thief, though she didn't use any of her skills to escape. Jedgar... well... Jedgar is as mysterious as any of the other two and at the current moment, conversation was not an option chosen likely by the trio.

MaCarthur's old horse moved quickly, for sure, since the cart didn't stay on one patch of ground for long. At least not long enough to put enough weight down and make deep tracks. The wind blew the sands across the man-made roads and only sometimes did they find any sign of the cart's trail.

Jedgar was keeping a hawk's eye on everything around him, especially the two who traveled behind his back. Kerrigan sulked as she literally dragged herself along. MaCarthur was busy trying to find ways to keep himself awake; the trip was a total bore. He decided to scan his companions. He noticed there wasn't too much to Jedgar. He was cloaked and nothing was really shown of the guy. He figured he was older since he called MaCarthur "lad."

Then there was Kerrigan. Despite her dirty motif she had going (probably from traveling everywhere), she wasn't too bad to look at. Her clothes were tattered and she looked as if she were starving. Maybe if she simply asked MaCarthur, he'd feed her. He had enough food for the three of them if Jedgar came along sooner. This thought only made MaCarthur have more of a grudge against Kerrigan. He displaced the thought of her being attractive and laid the thought of her just being a self-centered boob.

Just as this thought had passed, Jedgar turned around suddenly. "I think we've found a sign of your cart." The three rushed over (Kerrigan actually kind of dragged herself over) and found some of the supplies that must've fallen out by the cart hitting a bump on the road. The three picked through the luggage.

"Some food," MaCarthur mused. Kerrigan was so pleased to find some that she immediately began eating. Jedgar smacked her head and she dropped it.

"No," he said, taking the food from off the ground. He flung the food sacks that were left over his shoulder and shrugged as if to say that they must continue searching. MaCarthur also flung packs over his shoulder and followed. Kerrigan crawled behind with not just a grudge against the two ahead, but an empty stomach to boot.

Jedgar slung the food sacks over his shoulder and walked with the others down the dusty dirt path that lead through the thickly wooded forest.

The thief, Kerrigan, had tried to begin eating the food they?d recovered. It was an understandable reaction, considering her rather underfed look. However, Jedgar would have none of that until this cart was recovered. Then, and only if MaCarthur permitted it, he and Kerrigan would eat. To do otherwise would be uncouth and dishonest.

The forest canopy had kept the path fairly shaded, but as the sun began to set the path was becoming darker by the minute. If they didn?t spot the cart soon, they?d have to stop for the night. Traveling on roads at night was a sure way to get robbed, especially in this area. He wasn?t sure about either of his companion?s loyalty, especially Kerrigan?s. It?d be wise to avoid combat until he was either rid of these two or he knew them better.

MaCarthur : ?There!?

Jedgar followed the lad?s pointing arm to the right side of the road. There, embedded in a bush, was the cart. Nearby the horse grazed peacefully. Much of the cart?s cargo had been scattered about the area, but it appeared to all be there. Truly remarkable, for an area so full of the dishonest.

Jedgar: ?Gather the belongings and tie the horse. We?ll spend the night here.?

MaCarthur: ?Sounds good to me.?

Kerrigan: ?So? What?s for dinner??

OOC: Ok, ignore my last post, since it's irrelevant and I'm too lazy to delete it. :)

IC:

Veil walked quickly, wary of the forest. It had started to grow dark faster than she had thought. A mistake on her part. Already the forest had started to come alive with the strange sounds of night, and she eyed the sides of the road carefully. Earlier today, she had found a cart by the side of the road, but had left it without investigating it because she had heard voices approaching. Not a people person, she had left quickly and unseen.

Now she wished that she had looked through the contents of the cart; there could have been a lantern...anything to give a little light right now. It was growing chilly, and she drew her cloak closer about her. Her breath came out in puffs. The weather was so strange in this land; warm, hot, and dry in the day, and in the night the temperatures dropping rapidly as soon as the sun went down. It was surprising that people lived here, but that's what she thought of anywhere she went. Why did people bother to fight the elements and live? Why take on the challenge of life? She herself was planning to end her life... as soon as her mother was avenged.

With the memories of her mother, all thoughts of the cold vanished, and she grew hot with anger. One word came to mind, one word that based her hate: Silverdane. In particular, Edreck Silverdane. Before she took her last breath, he would suffer by her hand. She had vowed it. She would fulfill that vow, or she would hunt him and his family forever.

Veil walked on, her thoughts on her enemy, and tears started to blur her eyes. Her breath came out in white plumes, visible in the cold air. She was so...lonely. Why was it like this? Through her tears, she didn't see the dark shadows at the corners of her vision. Suddenly, a quick blow to her head, and she was unconscious and laying on the road.

A dark figure rummeled through her pack and belongings, fingering food and tools, and then tossing them aside. Suddenly, a silvery light shone in the moonlight, and the figure grabbed it. Then it was gone, with the shining object carefully in its hands. It disappeared back into the dark forest, leaving Veil on the road. The cold seeped into her body, and the blood congealed on her head. It grew colder, the low temperatures keeping Veil in her unconscious state, lying helpless. The night passed...

It was before dawn, the light barely visible, and mist billowed everywhere. A wagon rumbled up the road, three figures with it. Sometimes their voices could be heard in the early morning.

Suddenly, the one called Kerrigan smelled blood close by. "Wait! Stop a minute! I smell... blood."

"What?" MaCarthur asked, looking around.

Jedgar was the first to spot the body. "There! A body on the road!" They rushed over, and Jedgar examined Veil, whose skin was blue and covered in the delicate designs of a light frost. "Dead...wait, no, she's not dead. She's still alive!"

Confirming their belief that she was alive, Veil's breath came out in white plumes.

Upon throwing the girl in the back of the cart next to Kerrigan, the group moved on through the forest. Previously last night they had planned on traveling to Mallenfire. That's where they'd seperate. Jedgar would go along with his business (whatever it is), Kerrigan would most likely go off and thieve, and MaCarthur would complete the mission he planned on doing before Kerrigan rudely did what she had did.

MaCarthur stared back at the glum Kerrigan who had her head propped up on her hand as she stared off on the road moving by. Her gaze met his. "What?"

"Nothing," he replied, coming out of his daze. "Just thinking."

"Well, stop thinking. Can't you just drop me off here?"

"No," Jedgar answered for MaCarthur. Little did MaCarthur and Kerrigan know, Jedgar planned on turning Kerrigan in to the Mallenfire authorities once they got there. That was his reason, but he kept it hush hush.

"You guys are terrible!" Kerrigan whined.

"Just tend to the girl," MaCarthur mumbled, turning forward again to watch the road ahead. Kerrigan began saying insults under her breath as she dabbed Veil's head with a damp cloth. The dried blood was washed away revealing a scab formed from the wound. Kerrigan peered closer and noticed she was beginning to wake up. She was obviously still too dazed to make any rash actions or even talk.

"She's awake," Kerrigan announced.

"Good," Jedgar said, not turning back. "Make sure she keeps nice and warm, but not too warm or her fever will rise if she gets one. Of course, if she gets too cold, she'll get a cold. Keep her at a good temperature. Just warm."

Kerrigan made a confused face. "Just warm? What the hell does that mean?"

Jedgar sighed annoyingly. "Look, just tend to her, okay? Make sure she's comfortable."

Kerrigan turned back to her patient. "Okay, but I'm not sure what that means." Jedgar shook his head and steered the horse along the trail. The forest they were in ended not too long ago and they were on a dusty trail with wide open fields to each side. Trees lined the road providing shade. It would only be six more days until Mallenfire would be reached.

Kerrigan rolled her eyes, people always saw her as the stupid one when it was really them who didn't make any sense. She pulled out a blanket from the back of the cart and placed over the girl, making sure she was covered pretty much. Kerrigan glanced up in the sky to see some stars starting to appear, she looked in front of her at Mcwhoever and the old guy, she grinned slightly and pulled out her banjo from off her back and put three hand made pics over her fingers. She bobbed her head up and down a few time catching up with a beat and strumed a few notes, she heard a sigh from MaCarther which made her grin once again.

She then rapidly changed the beat to a very fast pace (Cut time ya'll) most of the little didy she was playing was filled with the higher notes, like B and A and other sharps. Although the bajo could sound cool at times, it could also sound very annoying.
"Will you stop?" Jedgar asked in an annoying tone, Kerrigan strummed harder, making the noise much louder.

"I can't here you?" She said over her playing.

Jedgar swung around and grabbed the banjo, seating himself back down within seconds. Kerrigan's eyes were wide. Neither her or MaCarthur knew what just happened. Jedgar waved the banjo. "I said stop and I meant it!" He slammed the banjo down on his seat.

"Hey!" Kerrigan said, making a move for it, but having her hand slapped away. "That's priceless, ya know."

"Yeah, and so are my ears so stop harming them with your obsessive strumming." He eventually gave her back the instrument, which she stroked as if she were a mother lion loving her cub after losing it.

"It won't be long before nightfall," Jedgar informed after moments of silence. MaCarthur looked up and over the side of the cart. He rubbed his hands across the leather bag next to him and pulled out of the finely-crafted piccilo. He then unsheathed the octave guitar and drum complete with it's sticks. These all caught Kerrigan's eye.

"Bard?" she asked. She then strummed her banjo lightning fast, but was cut short by Jedgar's glare.

"No," he said, shaking his head. He didn't say anymore. Jedgar peered back at MaCarthur's instruments with the corner of his eye. He was becoming aware that it'd be very eerie all three of them carried three instruments each. Very unlikely. Especially with the variety each one had. He kept his thoughts to himself, nevertheless.

"Not a bard and yet you have instruments?" The thought of it being strange passed through her mind as well. MaCarthur just stared off into the fields through the trees.

The group camped and it seemed that Veil was feeling more up to it. Unfortunately, she grew a fever like Jedgar assumed she would. He still pondered how such an illness would occur from just a gash on the head. Possibly she was illergic to his medicine, he wondered.

Kerrigan was already fast asleep. She had a full belly for once (the other meals MaCarthur gave her were small). She slept happily, no longer hungry. MaCarthur stepped out of the campsite for a bit to look around. Their spot they stayed for the night was near a cliff looking over a large lake. Macarthur found this spot peaceful, where he'd most likely spend his night alone.

OOC: Strange how in one part of the wilderness, everyone just happens to be there at the same time, isn't it? Ah well, when in Rome...PS sorry I'm late.

IC: Ryden sighed heavily as twilight crawled across the sky. He had been traveling five days since he first left Mallenfire, in an attempt to find the strongest there was. Of course, he wasn't exactly sure why he had chosen the direction he had, but there were only four directions and the one he had chosen was good enough.

As he walked, his huge Backpack seemed to grow all the heavier, and it was becoming increasingly harder to see. Ryden wanted to make it through the night, but if he kept going as he was, he would probably start going in circles without realizing it.

He had all but chosen a spot to lay for the night, when he shook off the temtation. "How am I ever going to get anywhere if I'm always taking breaks!" he had taken quite a few to get where he was. Instead he reached back into his massive pack, and pulled out a stick with one end wraped in a damp cloth. With a strike of a match, the cloth lit brightly, making a fine torch.

Ryden admired his work and continued on, keeping his eyes rested on the ground.

Jedgar sat quietly by the fireside, watching the sleeping Kerrigan.

His stern face betrayed no sympathy for her, being a thief, but at the same time he couldn?t help but feel sorry for her. She?d been through a lot, judging by her emaciated state. When he turned her in to the authorities, she?d be dealt with as was appropriate. Maybe tied up in the stocks for a few days, or have an ?S? branded on the back of her right hand. The usual for vermin of this nature.

The night grew later and colder, but still Jedgar didn?t sleep. He was tired, to be sure, but that could wait until they reached the town. One burning thought occupied his mind.

Thieves must be punished

It was his duty to hunt down every last one and make them atone for their crimes. Thieves, murderers and dishonest men of all types; he?d pass judgment upon them all?

OOC: You meany T_T lol

IC: Kerrigan slept soundly, she was used to the sound of nature and could sleep just about anything natural. She had finally had a decent meal and was pretty tired from all the events that had been going on lately. A plan to get some food was lost and some old guy was watching her every move... not quite what she had planned for, but alot of odd events happened to her.

Kerrigan slowly began to wake up as she felt an odd twitch on her foot. She sleepily opened her eyes to see a large waiter (sp?) starting to crawl up her pant leg.
"Gah!" Kerrigan leaped to her feet and shook the creepy crawly off, sending it flying into the grass, she would have squished it, but it was too dark to find any bug. Now that she was awake, getting back to sleep would be hard. She looked around, guided by little light from the fire which was now dying down and noticed MaCarther was sleeping a distance away. She looked over, to her it seemed Jedgar was sleeping, maybe he was, maybe he wasn't, but she would take her chances.

Silently, Kerrigan crept over to where MaCarther was sleeping, it seemed all the events had knocked him out too. Kerrigan scratched her head as she looked down at him and then felt a bit sorry for the kid. She reached deep into her tunic pocket... nothing... She tried the other one... still nothing... Kerrigan grumbled a few curse words and finally pulled off her left boot and pulled 2 gold coins from the soul of it, she dropped them down so that they were infront of his face.

"Hopefully that will make up for some of those items you lost..." She whispered silently, "Maybe our paths will cross again some day." With that, Kerrigan turned on her heal and started to leave the small camp site, headed in the direction opposite from Mallenfire, but before she could get too far the familiar sound of Jedgar's voice broke in, "Where are you heading off to?" Kerrigan: ?Uh? Just for a walk.?

Jedgar: ?In that case, I?ll go with you.?

A look of perfectly blended annoyance and disappointment crossed Kerrigan?s face.

Kerrigan: ?Sure.?

The two unlikely companions began to walk together into the woods. Behind them, MaCarthur and the mysteriously injured girl slept peacefully. They?d have to stay close to their sleeping companions though, as bandits often roamed these parts.

Kerrigan, much to her displeasure, found herself walking slightly in front of Jedgar and to his left. She couldn?t run away from him, she was well within range of his pike. The last thing she wanted was to get the wind knocked out of her by a solid metal pole. She sighed, resigned to the fact that this opportunity to escape had been lost.

Jedgar watched her, his pale blue eyes carefully tracking her movements. He doubted she?d kill him even if she got to drop on him, but letting her escape would break his oath. Nevertheless, he was beginning to feel sorry for her. She seemed like an all right person, from what little he knew of her. Perhaps he shouldn?t turn her into the authorities. He could keep her in line and maybe travel along with MaCarthur for his journey as bodyguards. That seemed like a logical way for her to atone for her transgressions.

They reached a small stream, and turned around to head back to camp. Neither of them had spoken; an awkward silence hung in the chilled night air. It seemed to choke both of them, stopping either from making a sound.

Jedgar swallowed, then attempted to make conversation.

Jedgar: ?So? Where did you grow up??

OOC: You fun sucker ;)

IC: Kerrigan glanced at him from the corner of her eye as he asked her the question.
"Ah... here and there..." She replied with a smile as she glanced up at the sky, how the heck would she get out of this old mans grip. She looked around to see if she could make any kind of destraction so she could get away, but nothing seemed to be poping into her head at the moment.

"Here and there?" Jegar repeated with a humph, "That's a funny name for a village." Kerrigan just grined a bit more, she reached down to her belt, she still had two daggers on her, maybe she could spar it out and get away... Well, not to the death or anything, just until she was somewhere were she could lose him. She wasn't one to travel with an old creepy man, maybe MaCarther, but not the old guy.

"Why do i have to go to Mallenfire with you?" Kerrigan decided to ask first instead of jumping to conclusions, that was a big change for her. "Why can't you just let me leave?"

OOC: I am not. Another thing, Jedgar is only in his early 20s. Where?s this ?old man? stuff coming from?

--- --- --- --- ---

The two travelers walked though the moonlit forest, walking between silent trees inhabited only by watchful owls. Overhead, a crescent moon cast an eerie light over all.

Jedgar and Kerrigan walked a little further, now almost back at the campsite.

Jedgar: ?You?re a thief. I?ll take you into Mallenfire and turn you into the authorities there. They will punish you accordingly.?

Kerrigan: ?I doubt it.?

Jedgar: ?The legal system here is fair enough. You?ll be given a hearing and judged.?

Kerrigan: ?Have you seen the inside of a jail??

Jedgar: ?No, but I don-?

Kerrigan: ?So you really don?t know if I?ll get a fair punishment.?

Jedgar: ?I?m sure that you?ll be trea-?

Kerrigan: ?Answer the question. Yes or no.?
Jedgar sighs

Jedgar: ?No.?

Kerrigan: ?Exactly. Why not find some other way??

Jedgar frowned. She had a point?

Allright, time to liven this up. *evil grin*
------------------------

Ryden sighed. Making his way at night was harder than he expected, since his eyes kept follying off the path. He sat down on the trail, taking a swig from his canteen. Something kept poking at his mind. It was the instruments he found. He knew not how to play any of them, yet it felt so right to take them along.

He reached back into his bag, and pulled away the pan flute. Familiarity ran deep in this instrument, though he had never seen it before in his life. His fingers found their ways to the proper holes, and he gave it a blow. A beautiful sound echoed upon the horizon, much louder than he intended.

There was a pause, as nothing happened, when suddenly the ground started to shake and crack. Suddenly a gyser formed under his feet, and he lept back just as a tower of water errupted from the ground, standing twenty feet high!

In just a moment, the water died down and gave way to a hulking figure in the mist created by the water. As the mist cleared, he saw it: A dragon. It's glossy blue scales shone brightly even in the dark night. Ryden stepped back, frightened. The dragon saw him, and lowered its head to him. Ryden stood puzzled. He touched the dragon's scales, and it made no move to attack him.

Ryden, growing in courage, found puchase for his hands in the scales, and hoisted himself onto the behemoth. The dragon raised its head, pouring mist and water from its nostrils. "Wow." Ryden said, now saddled atop the dragon. "Too weird." He then remembered the other two instruments. He pulled out the flute.

"Why not?" He gave it a blow, and it echoed like the first. The pause, and then the ground began to shake again, This time instead of a gyser, grass sprouted beneath Ryden and the dragon. Sadly the water dragon did not retreat, and a mossy green dragon sprouted up beneath it, knocking it off balance asnd flinging Ryden off.

As the new darker mossy dragon emerged, the water dragon roared at it for knocking it away. The plant dragon roared back, both bellowing screams hard and loud on the ears. They started taking small hits at each other, as if they were ready to duel. "Oh, crap." The water dragon was first, as it let loose a powerful gyser upon the plant dragon, and they started to fight.
