Meggido
I must say I've read first four volumes of X manga and really need to get the rest. Anyway for those who are fans of CLAMP, manga or anime, check out Tsubasa Chronicle (also called Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle). This show brings a number of CLAMP characters from different series together and is awesome. I've seen 8 eps and want to watch more.
vegeta rocker
Honestly, i think both the series and the movie was a dissapointment. The series, like everbody has said, was too rushed and short. The ending decapitation was very quick and stupid. During the whole movie i was waiting for this big climatic battle to happen and i got a severed head. The one thing i liked about the movie was it's darkness. The ending when Kamui is
clutching Fuma's head
is actually very true to the manga. When the same happened to
Kotori, Kamui held on to head for several days.
As for the series, let me first say that i did enjoy everything but the ending. In my opinion i call it "going disney". I think they cheaped out and just made it too ethereal and corny.
Here look at me! I'm Kamui and i am fading away in a big glowing light! It was bloodier and more realistic in the manga.
And to Meggido, CLAMP does that on a regular basis. Combine stories i mean. If you enjoy that, you should check out more of their series. I can't think of any off the top of my head right now. Though in the X manga
the ones originally gaurding Kamuis sword was the CLAMP School Detectives. That was pretty nifty. Because the manga hasn't ended yet--and, moreover, CLAMP has stated that its ending will be different from that of the series as well as that of the movie. Then again, given the manga's current status, we may never find out just how they intended it to end.
But if the manga does contain Kamui's death scene...
then, um, I stand corrected. :p ~Dagger~

Some of thier older series- CLAMP school detectives, Man of many faces and CLAMP defender duklyon all take place at the CLAMP school and use some of the same characters. In fact
the 3 dudes who run the CLAMP school in X and give Kamui the sword are the three kids from clamp school detectives all grown up!
Also, theres a little crossover between Legal Drug and Suki. Some characters from Suki make a short cameo.

Renate
I am absolutely in love with X/1999. I purchased it almost 2 years ago without knowing much about the storyline. I only bought it because I fell in love with the art on the boxset and because it wasn't that expensive. I'm glad I did buy it! ^.^ It's still my favourite anime series from all I've seen! I find the storyline to be simply amazing. There were a few blank spots if I remember well (I haven't watched it for a year since I promised myself after having watching it too much in one year.) but they really don't bother you much in my opinion. ^^ The story about the end of the world and all the epic drama in it was a real turn-on for me. Of course the characters were great too. My favourite would be Kamui, Arashi, Subaru, Karen, Satsuki, Yuuto and Seishiro. ^^ I also really liked it that they didn't let everyone live, nor did they kill everyone (like in the movie if I'm correct). My favourite pairings in the series are Subaru x Seishiro (I think it's safe to say Seishiro told Subaru he loved him in the end), Subaru x Kamui (the angsting, really!), Arashi x Sorata (It's really kawaii and canon!), Satsuki x Yuuto and Yuzuriha x Kusanagi (I don't care about age differences, mind you). I also have vol. 1,2 and 16 (For special Subaru x Kamui angsting and Seishiro x Subaru signs) of the manga in my possession and know quite a few things of what happens in the manga as well. I find it so annoying that CLAMP doesn't finish it! There are only two more volumes after volume 18 after all! ><
Nekova
I never watched Tokyo Bablon, so I don't know much about Subaru's history XP. What happened between him and that guy just confused me lol, I still don't get why they
killed his sister [/spoiler'].
I watched X once, and had the same questions you did about Subaru and Seisheiro. Then I read the Tokyo Babylon manga, and watched X again. Once you know the history behind them, their story in X becomes the most important and tragic (at least to me). In the manga,
Subaru is an older friend of Subaru and his sister Hokuto. Over the course of a year he causes Subaru to fall in love with him (for extremely complex reasons I'm not going to get into), and then revealed that he was the sakurazukamori (a master assassin) and tried to kill him. He couldn't do it though, because he had let himself like Subaru more than he planned on. Hokuto later went to Seishiro and made him a bargain. He would kill her in Subaru's place and leave Subaru alone
. Once you know that (and I highly reccommend reading the manga so that you get the whole story), their scenes in X make a lot more sense. Let's hear it for the yaoi! Kamui
I have seen the X: The Movie, X the t.v. series and read some of the manga. I really like the movie when I first it.
I didn't like when the characters heads were cut off which scared me. Even though the main characters died one by one, while to stop the Dragons of Earth plan. Karen got crush by a train while fighting aganist Nataku, Aoki fell off a building while he was fighting Sugo,Yuzuriha dies protecting Kamui from Yuto's attack, and Sorata and Arshi died from Fuma. these were really sad deaths. Only Kamui survive holding his best firend, Fuma(other Kamui) head. this was one of the saddest movie I ever saw.
The t.v. series was much better. We learned more about the past of every characters, that the movie didn't have, they just mention it. The story was more develop and the same fate didn't happened for some of the characters as the movie show. I even felt sorry for the Dragons of Earth after knowing their past. I have seen Tokyo Babylon the ova. It was short, but I love it.
Subaru is in his teenage with his twin sister Hokuto and their freind Seishiro to help them on their job as a appartion. Subaru is in love with Seishiro and Hokuto with both of them
