American Idol

Surely I'm not the only one watching American Idol. Its kind of early to tell right now, but I want to know who everyone thinks will win. I honestly think that it'll either be "Scooter girl" ?Nicole Tierie? or Matthew Rogers.

Its a great show, according to me. A lot of people in my school watch it. Its funny to see the people that think they can sing, but totaly suck. Some, on the other hand, are actually good but need some more confidence boosting. Then there are the few that are energetic and confident, the catch is they CAN sing.

Who do ya'all think will win the whole compition?

I personally think that the red haired guy that sounds like Frank Sanatra(sp?) will win. Although he is only 16, he has plenty of talent and a great voice to win. I also think that the girl with the attitude (I dont know their names as you can see) that Paula got upset with on last nights episode has a chance if she straightens up her attitude.

Funny story...well, not really, but I have a friend named Matt Rogers. One of the other members here, Kevin, can also atest to this truth. And it's funny because he's big just like the American Idol guy. ::chuckles a bit to himself:: Ah yes, good times.

Scooter Girl can't win now because she's been eliminated and I don't think Matt will win because the judges don't like the way he carries himself.

I really don't know who's gonna win, but I'll put my money on a woman winning it this year.

Though I really want that half of the twin group, that Jesus guy to win so I can say that Jesus is the next American Idol.

And if you were curious, I've never ever watched American Idol until this year and the only reason I've done so is because there is nothing else on at 7:30 in the PM. I guess when you got nothing to do on a weekday night in the dormroom, go watch FOX. Whooo boy, that FOX is a quality network let me tell you.

I agree with Hataki Vash. I watched American Idol last night and he was a really talented singer(he looks EXACTLY like my cousin....scary). I think he will win or at least go far in American Idol. For only being age 16, he has a really good voice that is deep and expressive! I hope he goes far!

After watching it last night I'm dissapointed that Scooter Girl didn't make it past last night's round, just because Simon told her to be SERIOUS!!!

I don't really understand what kind of mind screwing they're trying to do to these kids.

Hopefully everyone's favorite deep-voiced youngster (forgot his name, mathew???) will get far enough to proove that he's a good singer. and if not, then he'll always have a career impersonating frank sinatra songs.

I was pretty unhappy that Scooter Girl got the boot as well. She was a very talented singer and there were some that went through that really sucked. Not only was she a good singer, but she had such a fun-loving personality.

As for who I like, I'm personally drawn to two different chics: the one with pink hair and the one that looks like a guy and is always wearing suspenders. Both of them are really good and really stand out.

As for guys, the one that sang to Paula at his auditions and spent all of his time BS-ing in the pool...I just really wish they'd go ahead and get rid of him. He's annoying me highly already.

I was really upset about Scooter girl too!! I couldn't believe when she got eliminated! She had one of the best personalities up there not to mention the voice. She was who i wanted to win, so i'm not exactly who i want to win now.

As for the guy that sang to Paula, i thought he did get eliminated! Cuz i thought i saw him in that room. I'm not positive though. But i agree, he was a jerk.

Right now, i have to say that American Idol is my favorite show. I'm going to audition for it in 4 years if they're still doing it. My sister is going to audition next year. I think she'll do very well in that competition, shes a very good singer. And i think that when i'm 16, i'll be able to make it very far too, everyone tells me i'm a good singer (especially my chorus teacher) and i think i'm very good and i'm just going off on some rant about how wonderful i find myself! Sorry.

Is there an episode tonight?? I don't think so cuz there wasn't one on thursday the last two weeks, so i don't think there is one tonight. But i hope so.

I'm glad that Scooter Girl was eliminated; I hated her thoroughly. Her voice was good, but her flimsy personality annoyed me. Obviously, it was apparent there were problems when she needed a gimmick to veil her boring Surge induced act. What made it worse was that she chose a scooter of all things for that purpose. So, yes, although Scooter Girl was interesting at first, her charm wore thin fairly quickly. You can only watch a girl act like a fool and run around in tiresome.

She seemed pretty fake too; she wasn't as wholesome as she let on. I didn't like how she isolated one of her teammates as the "weak link." The judges saw through her pretty well, I'd say.

If she was to advance to the finals, I'd probably get a dull headache every time I watch the show.

*cries tears of joy that she wasn't the only one in America who didn't like Scooter Girl* I never could see why everybody liked her. The only reason you even remembered her was 'cause of the scooter. Not her voice...anyways when she got eliminated I was jumping for joy. heh yeah now I'm probably going to get flamed by a few Scooter Girl fans but I don't really care. it's my opnion. :p

Ahyhoo I also hope the girl with the pink hair wins. (isn't it sad how we all want her to win yet can't even try to find her real name out? I just fins that a tad funny...) Either her or as as been said before the girl who is always wearingt he suspenders and the army shirt with the short blonde/black spiked up hair. Or the red-haired sixteen year-old. Or one of the twins or-lets just say it's a little early to be predicting winners. Heh but this certinly will be an interesting 3rd series. Too bad that they couldn'
t find someone as bad as keith though...the "She-bang" guy was close but just not quite there....

Well, I wouldn't get my hopes up too well if I were you. Not saying you're a bad singer or anything (I have no room to talk, I've never heard you sing nor have I heard your sister), it just seems daunting to make it out of thousands upon thousands of people auditioning. You watch the show right? There are all sorts of people who say they are great and then Simon destroys them in a beautiful blaze of utter simplance.

I know you're not being cocky, just take some advice from me and realize that the chance of making it in this sort of things is very small. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, because if in the end you drop it, you won't have any left.

Glad to see that you have initiative, though.

I have to agree with you there, Ed, I only watch the show because it's hilarious and I get a kick out of all these people who think they can sing and get so pissed off when told otherwise. It's great. It's really funny when Paula gets pissed off because everyone considers her the "nice one." Yeah, whatever.

*does the same*

Anyway, since Scooter Girl has been both thoroughly praised and torn up, I'll leave her alone.

I like the girl with the pink hair, as well -- I think her name is Amy, but I'm not sure. She's just really ... cute, or something, I'm not sure what makes me like her so much. And obviously she has a good voice.

I for one actually don't like the part where they tell people they can't sing at all. For that reason I don't watch the auditions, but I usually watch the rest of the show. I don't find it amusing to watch people's dreams get torn into shreds, though I know the majority of America does. Just for some reason I don't like it.

I don't think the 16-year-old with the red hair will win, or even get particularly close (now I'm going to be proven desperately wrong, aren't I). I like his voice and all, but he doesn't strike me as having "star quality."

And I don't think the twins should even have made it through; I didn't think their voices were particularly good at all.

Scooter Girl was fun to watch at first, but the novelty wore off pretty quickly. I didn't see the last episode, so I don't know everything that went down. I am a bit relieved she's off now though. so far I'm still not rooting (sp?) for anyone in particular yet. that cocky Simon-hater girl is pretty good though; right now I'm puttin' my money on her. even if I don't particularly like her :shifty:. I think the winner of this year's American Idol won't be that good. The series this year is pretty dull; there's nothing to get excited about.

Scooter Girl has a pretty good chance of getting in again because of the wildcard episode, though. *shrugs* I don't think she'll win.

My favorite singer right now is the 16-year-old boy with the red hair and Fantasia. The singer I really hated was that platinum-blonde-haired-girl who always said that she was the best singer and then she got cut and she started crying and insulting the other singers. I hope she never gets a record deal in her life.

American Idol is getting boring. And Alan (the guy who sang to Paula) should die or get the boot in a blaze of idiocy. Can't believe he got through. He's WAAAY too cocky.

Yes, Kira is a b****. Lol, trailer trash singers. How sad. She's probably cursing still about her cut.

For now I don't know who would win. As I don't know much of the names.

*Still have the guy singing "She Bangs" very horribly in his head*

OH MY GOSH! That girl made me yell and scream she pissed me off so bad. I can't believe she had to audacity to call everyone else there "trailor trash." I have lived in a trailor my ENTIRE LIFE! Does that make me trash? She just seemed like she was a spoiled rotten ***** in my opinion, one of those who never knows what it's like to have to work for something. I'm glad she got told off; she sucked anyway.

Heh, I actually like that guy. His "Alan Idol" boast was one of the most entertaining speeches I've seen from any of the contestants.

I'm sure he won't win. He's more of a sex symbol than a serious competitor, made obvious by his late night escapades and strip tease performances. But, I do find him entertaining. He knows how to play the judges too (especially Paula). I respect that.

I also liked the guy who sang for the Clintons. Again, the attitude was just there. His main flaw was letting his ego get the best of him. I'm hoping he'll realize that mistake and do well in the wild card round.

And yeah, Kira was a young teenage girl. I don't think she was mentally prepared for the big time just yet. Her outburst was a clear demonstration of that fact.

In the end, I'm sure at least one of the female singers from the first group performance will be present. They were head and shoulders above everyone else--period.

wow, I thought that last episode was awesome. I had to write down some quick notes to help me remember who I wanted to vote for, and I figured I might as well write down my comments here. it was kinda fun to see how my comments compared to the judges'. not that I'm somebody who has room to judge singing :p, but I do know a good bit about music and performing, so I know at least a little of what I'm talking about.

so here's what I came up with.

1.) Diana - performance was perfect; cute look and upbeat personality; stage presence and energy definitely there.
Score: 10

2.)Marque - good voice, but it sounds generic; not a lot of stage presence; personality quirks kind of annoyed me.
Score: 6

3.) Ashley - good voice, but hit a couple of really weird notes; handled comments well.
Score: 7

4.) Katie - looks the part; awesome performance; the higher notes were a little weak, but not very noticeably so.
Score: 9

5.) Erskire - not as vocally talented, but had more energy than Mark; worked well with the song; beginning was weak
Score: 6

6.) Jennifer - lots of energy; strong voice; some of the notes were..... lost (?)
Score: 7

7.) Matthew - good voice, but not very strong; overall performance was still good though; some note problems (I think in the beginning, but I can't remember).
Score: 7

8.) Fantasia - I don't prefer her voice timbre, but it suits her, and she sounded great; very unique; just as good as Diana's performance, if not better.
Score: 10

yeah, so I'm gonna be voting for Diana and Fantasia, obviously lol. it'd be cool if Katie could come back on as a wild card so far.

I agree, this latest episode was very good! I had to get a haircut so i missed the first two singers, but i'll tell what i thought of the other singers.

3.) Ashley - good voice, kind of boring if you ask me but a good voice all the same. Not the right song i think.
Score: 6

4.) Katie - She looks great, She sounds great, she had a great personality, and she got me going with her expressions and songs.. I thought she was the best.
Score: 9.7

5.) Erskire - I thought he was weak. He sings well but i just didn't get any feeling from him. He got better as he went into the song but i still thought he was a bit weak.
Score: 6

6.) Jennifer - She had a very strong voice, but the song seemed kind off to me. Especially since i'm singing this song right now in show choir, and she kinda made it her own, so it just didn't seem right to me. But she did have a clear, strong voice, and a good personality.
Score: 8

7.) Matthew - He definately picked the right song for his voice, i would say. But he didn't have the strongness. He did do great though with that song.
Score: 7.6

8.) Fantasia - She sang very well. I personally don't like her voice type either but obviously other people do. But she still sang very well technically as i said before. She didn't seem to have enough....umph in her voice, atleast for me. I mean, she was strong, but just something about it... idk. but she did have the star quality.
Score: 8.5

At this point, i'm rooting for Katie, but if anyone else got in, i would be happy, cuz i thought they were all very good.

I still hope Nicole gets in through the wild card round (if, in fact she can) i don't care what anyone else says! lol.
