Dead Alice
The city of Menendel was dark and cold as always. The streets were fairly quiet, except for the occasional merchant passing by in his carriage. A steady torrent of rain flowed down the stained-glass windows of the church. The mourning doves were all huddled under the bell tower. The empty sanctuary was dimly lit with candles, and the only sound was the pounding of the thunder outside. Old Father Tobias was slowly making his way around, dusting off the pews with a damp cloth. It had been a while since any children visited the church. Ever since the Faith left, no one came. Tobias vowed to keep the church standing, as a memorial to the Ancients. He sighed and looked at the old piano. It hadn?t been played in so long, he was afraid of how out of tune it would sound. A young girl sat upon the protrusion of her window, staring out at the usually busy street. Her room was small and serene with little furniture, but she didn?t mind. It must?ve been a restful day for the villagers. Azaria sighed, silently wishing she could feel the rain outside her window. She heard the croaky voice of Father Tobias calling and reluctantly left her room. ?Would you mind doing something for me?? Tobias asked. ?There?s a woman whose son is ill. She lives a few houses down on the right.? Azaria simply nodded, and grabbed her cloak from the knobby stand near the front doors. Azaria was glad to feel the soft patter of rain again as she made her way along the muddied street. It only took a few minutes to reach the house of the woman and her son, who Azaria knew had a record of illnesses. ?Bless my soul, she?s here!? cried the woman when Azaria arrived. ?My son?s right over there.? Azaria went straight to him and began to heal him. For unknown reasons, she had been gifted with the power to heal. The little boy slowly opened his eyes and sat up. The woman embraced her son, tears welling up in her eyes. Before she could even give thanks, Azaria was gone. ?My, that was fast,? said Tobias when she returned. Azaria tossed her wet cloak aside. ?I try not to waste time, Father,? said Azaria. Her voice was soft, like an angel?s. ?Well, no studies today,? said Tobias, who was sweeping the floor. ?Do what you will.?
The (Sic) Shape
Within the dark depths of the Underworld, a strange mist began to form and creep through the streets of the twisted labyrinth of a city, creatures in constant battle with each other. The mist suddenly made its way to what appeared to be the ruins of a castle in the center of the city, and the mist began to take form of a human as it dissipated, Rayne appeared, panting heavily. He had just escaped from the tower of Lerenie, and had battled many of the priests and elders, slaughtering them in seconds. He stood up to see that he was in his chamber. He took out the text that he had stolen and quickly read through it. Rayne flashed an evil grin, but he knew he still had to find the crystal and this "chosen one". He knew that to find these two things he would need help, it would be difficult to do this alone. Suddenly, Rayne let out a loud groan and clutched his chest in pain. He knew that he needed to feed. "Lord Rayne," He heard someone call out as he turned around to see a young, female vampire in front of him, "Please drink," she said, handing him a small glass of blood. Rayne grabbed it from her and quickly drank it, his strength returning to him. "My thanks," Rayne said to her.
Talon
Father Tobias sighed and returned to the old piano. He was nearly there when he heard a loud clattering. Squall
A tall man with wild blounde hair and crimson red gauntlets slowly made his way through the trecherous underworld, watching his step for fiends and such. One fiend slowly made its way to him, and latched onto his back. The man's gauntlets suddenly flared up, and he reached back to grab the fiend. It barely struggled, aching from the burning grip. The man held the fiend at eye level. "I hate you little leeches." He said, in an almost boared voice. He rose his other hand socked the fiend, hard. It collapsed upon the floor, and the man continued on. He reached the ruins of a castle, and looked at a note he took from hsi pocket. Your services are requested, to search for an unknown person. you will be paid on completion. Make your way to the underworld, you'll know how to find me from there. -Rayne The man crumpled the note and forced the castle doors open. "Hello!!" He called out, hearing his voice echo. Ayokano
A young man rode a brown horse in the forest of Merith. A dull thud came from the horse's hooves every time they hit the forest floor. The young man hold tightly on the horse, and the rode out of a thick green forest. The horse slowed, and soon stopped. The young man got off of the brown horse, and looked at cloudless sky. He started to walk beside the horse, sometimes dropping to his knees to see the plant life of the openning he walked on. Soon he met more forest. He entered, and got back on his horse. He soon saw another openning that led to a castle. He looked up, and saw a large elven man sleeping. "Hello! I need the inn!" the man on the ground said. His shouting awoken the elven man. "Eh, what?!?" he shouted down to the man on the ground. The man on the ground gave out a sigh, and shouted that he need the inn. The man turned a crude machine and the oak doors opened. The man rode on into the castle gates, and put his horse in a staple. As he exited the staple, he saw a familier face. She had grown since he last saw her, and her golden hair long. Though to her she had not aged at all, the young man saw it. He walked to her, and she turned to him with a smile. She opened her arms to him , and they grasped each other tightly. "Welcome back, Lorth." she said to him.
Talon
Aris' horse Frenza covered the many miles to the village easily. As Aris rode into the village, he detected no sign of orcs or an orcish attack. His well-trained sense of smell, however, was detecting something that should not have been. Aris:Frenza....the villager did say East, right? I thought so. But....there is nothing here. I smell a hint of burn.....though it could just be a hearth-WHOA!! A large, flaming mass of wood and clay came soaring over the trees, exploding near Frenza's hooves. Aris drew out Risal, his blessed katana, and jumped off of his faithful stallion. Aris:A catapult missile!?! What the.... As that thought escaped his lips, a horde of orcs and ogres dashed from the forest. It was an ambush! Aris stood firm, drawing out Fierce Dragon, his fire-spear, and used them in combination, destroying the entire first legion of orcs. Not even growing tired, he slashed and hacked his way through ogres, orcs, and ballista crews. Something was not right, though. An entire battalion lay in hiding, using a ploy just to get Aris? An entire battalion? An ambush?! This was barely beyond Aris' comprehension, as orcs and ogres RARELY get along, and when they do, they most certainly can't get their heads to knock together enough without lethal repercussions to come up with such TERMS as battalion and ambush, much less utilize these most effective battle strategies. As you can see, Aris is one hell of a thinker, as well as a strategist that knows much about battling orcs and ogres.. Anyway, back to the hacking and slashing. Aris had cleaned a good three-fourths of the field of foes, but decided to kill the rest with a flair. He whipped Risal towards the ground, pointing Fierce Dragon in a line perpendicular to Risal's hilt, forming a "T" with the two weapons. He chanted a magical spell, combining the Vorpal and Fire elements of his weapons in a devastating spell. Aris:Vorpal Fire Tornado! A huge twister, filled with blades and tongues of fire, tore thrpugh the remaining legions of ogres and orcs. The twister died down, giving Aris the go-ahead that there were no more enemies to be thinking about. Aris began his ride home, wondering how the hell orcs andogres could become so organized just to take him, Aris, out. As a side-note, he also planned to kill that poor villager that had said this village was under attack. Or maybe the man's family had been held hostage. Aris decided he would ask Azaria to find out for sure. But after he ate. Healing could wait. Aris decided he could wait to get the huge gash on his right arm healed by Azaria. He also decided he just couldn't wait to get home to the Crystal Inn's famous spiced potatoes.......
Dead Alice
"You should be healed," said Azaria softly. "The wound was deep, but you are very resilient." "Thank you, Lady Azaria," said the man in gratitude. "I'd best be leaving..." He turned and left through the huge oak doors. "'Tis such a blessing to have you here," Tobias sighed. "This city would be in ruin if it weren't for your gift." "I deserve no such praise, Father," said Azaria as she left to the stairs. Above Azaria's room was a small library, filled with many ancient texts that hadn't been read in years. She pulled out her favorite book, though she'd read it at least a hundred times by now, and sat in a creaky rocking chair. This and her room were the only ones without stained glass windows. Azaria didn't spend much time in the library, but enjoyed a good book now and then.
Talon
Aris strode happily into the church, munching on the remains of a chili-dog and some spiced potatoes. He wondered why he was feeling weaker, but shrugged it off. he saw Father Tobias. Aris:Hello, Father! It's a really nice day, though I've already spent most of it outside. I hope you have a wonderful sermon, later on. Most of the people in the pub WILL be coming. They seemed to like staring at me a bit too much.... Father Tobias didn't reply as he stared at the gaping hole in the side of Aris' arm. Apparently, the drow had completely forgotten the bleeding wound while munching away on potatoes and chili-dogs. Aris, meanwhile, was heading for the library. there was that book of his he'd been meaning to get to reading.... Azaria:Good God, Aris, what happened?!?! Aris:Eh? What do you mean, Azaria? I just got back from the village thing. I was ambushed, which is odd, orcs don't have the mental capacity to ambush....but I came out fine. Oh, then I went to the pub and got a whole bunch of people reinterested in church. Anyway, i'm just peachy. Why? Azaria:Um...look at your right arm. Aris stared and nearly fainted. Aris:I completely forgot about that! That must be why people at the pub were staring, my arm is almost completely OFF. This is most interesting....must also be why I'm feeling weaker. Azaria:What do you MEAN intersting? You were OBVIOUSLY thinking with your stomach AGAIN. I can tell quite easily, chili-dog breath. Aris:Hey! You've cut me to the quick! You forgot the spiced potatoes. Azaria simply smacked her forehead as she began to heal Aris' arm. When that was done, and without skipping a single beat, Aris was up and reading a book titled "Strategies of the Great Liang". Obviously, it was a war novel about the Liang stretegist that Aris was always emulating, but no matter. She returned to her own book, noting that Aris was climbing the wall to his usual perch. He read the book while hanging upside down, which Azaria thought must be the reason he never used his brain until he was in battle. She simply sighed and quickly returned to her book.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Father Tobias was sweeping his study when he saw a small memo that had fallen from Aris' pocket. As he read it, his face turned grim, and he rushed into the library to fetch the Drow. Tobias:Aris! Aris! Tell me everything about your encounter! ARIS!!! Father Tobias was quick to note that Aris had fallen from the ceiling. Apparently, with his concentration divided between hanging from the ceiling and reading AGAIN, he had not had enough mind left to focus on the Father's cries. Azaria simply looked at Aris concernedly, who was wincing from severe pain shooting through his back. Tobias:Good heavens, child, when will you stop being so naive? Azaria:Naive? What do you mean? Tobias:Never mind. Aris, did the orcs and ogres TRULY organize into battalions? Did they really ambush you?! Aris:yeah, why? Ow..... Toias:Stop hanging from the ceiling and you won't get headaches anymore. Azaria....leave us for a moment. Azaria did so, wondering what they were going to talk about. Tobias:Aris, lad, WHEN will you stop hiding in the shadows of the ceiling so that Azaria forgets you're there? WHEN will you realize that she is far too.....short-sighted to even notice your affection? Aris:Affection? What do you mean? Anyway, what about the orcs and ogres? Tobias:They were organized.....they used an ambush to try to take Menendil's most skilled warrior to his demise.....this shows an uncommon level of intelligence in a group of orcs and ogres. Aris:I thought so, too. What do you mean affection? Tobias:Damn you and your multi-track mind. Everyone in the city KNOWS you are in love with her except you and Azaria! aris:...Um....no. Anyway, WHAT ABOUT THE ORCS! Can't you stay focused? Father Tobias sighed in exasperation. Tobias:Lad, it means they are being stirred by a dark force in the Underworld. AND there is only ONE dark force capapble of giving orcs enough brains to fill a thimble. His name was Rayne, and his coming was foretold. Once he has his "chosen one", and only he has the knowledge of how to find her besides a few priests in this world, he will be near invincible. Aris:So I take him out. Big deal. Slice, dice, hack, slash, everyone goes home happy but this Rayne guy. And maybe me. battles make me hungry. Father Tobias raised his hands to heaven. Aris:So you're praying for food, too? Man, you seriously gotta work on staying focused, Father. Now, about this Rayne guy again...? Tobias:It's not that simple! Only the chosen one can stop him! And all the signs of the stars say that YOU were chosen to protect this person, along with several others! Aris pondered this thought. Aris:So......my job is to protect the chosen one that could make Rayne invincible? So that Rayne doesn't get him, and so that he can kill Rayne? Tobias:Exactly, except for all we know, the chosen one may be a girl as well. Aris:yeah, sure. Maybe it's Azaria! Ha! Father, don't make me laugh! Tobias:Well, anyway, do you think you're ready for this burden? Aris:I ain't leavin' 'til I know who to protect. And will there be lots of food for me when i get back? Father Tobias simply stared to the ceiling and sighed woefully, leaving the room and shaking his head. he would need some serious sleep to get rid of his latest "Aris-ache", his favorite term for the headaches that Aris frequently caused him.....
The (Sic) Shape
"Anybody here!?!" The young man called out again, hearing only an echo through the castle. As he wandered the the halls as a mist slowly began to follow him. Once he stopped the mist began to manifest itself back into Rayne. "Nobody must be here," the young man muttered to himself. "Leaving so soon?" Rayne asked behind him. Suddenly the young man turned to attack who was behind him and drew his dagger but was suddenly knocked out of his hand. "You're alert," Rayne said, "That's good." "What are you saying?" the young man asked, his gauntlets suddenly began to flare up. He started to attack Rayne but was continously blocked after each punch with his Blood Reaver. "You're very persistant," Rayne said, and suddenly pushed him away and grabbed him by the neck, "I like that. I guess I was right to bring you here." "Who are you?" He asked "I am the one who requested your assistance. You are the one they call "The Dark Wanderer", are you not?"
Squall
"That's the one." The wanderer answered, Rayne loosening his grip on him. "You wouldn't happen to be dracual's cousin by any chance, would you?" Rayne just smirked. "Allright, so what'd you call me down here for anyways?" Rayne turned and walked down the hall, the wanderer following. "I want you to find the chosen one, and bring them back to me alive." The wanderer nodded. "Okay, and where can I find this chosen one?" "I don't know." "Uh, that's gonna be a little hard. So...what do they look like?" Rayne made no attempt to answer. "You're kidding." The wanderer said, putting his hand to his forehead. "What, am I supposed to ask every person in the world if they're the chosen one?" "If nessicary." "You're a nut job." "The pay will overwhelm any hardships." "Eh, and that's saying I find this person before I'm old and crippled." "Are you in or not?" "Ehh. Okay sure. But, do you know anything that might be of value?" The (Sic) Shape
"Do not worry," Rayne answered, "Your reward will be more then enough after you find the chosen one." "Alright then," Kayo said, "But is there any information you can give me about this chosen one?" "Read this." Rayne said, handing him a text, "I retreived this text from the tower of Lerenie. They wouldn't keep it there unless they wanted to prevent from this text falling into the wrong hands. Surely the elders or preists will have the information we seek about the chosen one, as well as the crystal needed to infuse with the chosen one." "So all we need to find is an elder or priest and hopefully he'll have the information?" Kayo asked. "Unfortunately, they'll be prepared for any intruder after what I've done, so its best not to go there. The best place would have to be the City of Menendel. Go there and try to find the information we seek," Rayne explained. "And what will you be doing?" "I will return to Lerenie. They'll not be expecting me to come back, and I cannot be easily detected. I will gather any information I can find on the crystal. Farewell." Rayne then suddenly vanished into mist, and that too began to dissipate. In seconds it was gone, leaving Kayo to make his way to Menendel.
Kanariya
Ushina roamed around the ground of the Underworld, bored as ever. She wasn't hungry; she had just had her filling of human blood, and was full. "Hey Ushina..." a voice said in a darkened alley. Ushina immediately crossed her arms across her chest, and gave a bored expression on her face. "What do you want this time Pyne?" Suddenly, a male vampire, about the same age as Ushina came walking out of the alley, smirking. He had black pants that went to his feet, and his feet in black shoes. He had on a black cape, and under the black cape was a red cloth. He has a red shirt, and blood red eyes, with his fangs shining. He has his hair into a long braid, and it was black. "Came to tell you news..." he said, touching her shoulder with his hand. "I don't want to know. You only bother me to annoy me like crazy and flirt." Pyne frowned, but still kept a close eye on Ushina. "Anyway, I heard of this...Wizard I should say." "Forget it Pyne. Every wizard is some goody goody awaiting to kill off demons and vampires." "No, not this one. He lives in some place, and they aid demons and worship a dark god, whatever." "Not vampires. We are not demons. We are vampires." "But still Ushina...he could work." "How did you get this information?" "Just going in and out everywhere, with my typical disguise. Perfect, eh?" "Hm..." Ushina said, and she began walking away from Pyne. "Where are you going?" he asked. "To find this 'wizard'." "Ah, but wait I forget to mention. Anyone who has seen him before says he gets really pissy not matter what." "Bleh. Pissy my butt." Ushina walked away into the darkness of the violent world they had lived in, while Pyne stared into the darkness, watching the vampire trail off. "But first..." Ushina said, looking around. "I should tell Rayne about him. Might he aid us...or become enemies." ----------------------- If this isn't right for you inti or chaosfaerie, just tell me. Kanariya
Ushina made her way through the violent grounds of The Underworld. Wherever she went, a fight would usually occur, and blood would be left over on the ground. Some fights would be fatal, but it didn't matter. The only thing was to live and die. Luckily for Ushina, her appearance drew vampires away, and her look of red eyes of blood made vampires shiver. Ushina looked up, to see the great, stone castle 'Lord' Rayne had stayed in. In was all black, and at the top of the tallest tower, black mist circled around it, and making it stand out throughout the red sky from the afternoon. Ushina began making her way through the crowds. Many people thought she was a mistress of Rayne, but wasn't. Her gratitude to him proved she did trust him as a leader, but her clothing made her look like of a palace's queen. Everyone kept away. Ushina stopped to see two guards blocking the entrance of Rayne's castle. Once they saw Ushina, they quickly opened the gate, letting her through. Ushina didn't show one bit of thanks, and entered the castle. Ushina walked through the casltle, step by step. Her boots made a sound echoing through the castle walls. Ushina turned to a room, where a fine red carpet covered the floor, black stone walls, and bare, only with a long, smooth wooden table in the back and a wooden chair. In that wooden chair, Rayned sat, smirking. Rayne, giving the indication someone was coming, looked up. He wasn't surprised. "Ushina, see you have come back," he began. Ushina stopped in her tracks, and stood in her spot. "Information lord," she said. Rayne was rather pleased to hear her say 'lord.' "Seems as if a wizard," she began. Rayne lost his smirk and turned his mouth into a frown. "Ushina you know wizards are enemies...including ones that live in Scyllaria. Even for it's dark wizards, who says they actually find us as allies, us vampires. Demons." "It doesn't make a difference. I'll convice him." "How?" "Someway." "Someway isn't enough." Ushina frowned, and put a hand on her hip. "Then I will go myself." "Saves me trouble as it is Ushina," Rayne said. "Go." Ushina, with a frown on her face, turned around, away from Rayne, but still stood. "You know you have to go through a lot of trouble to get that crystal and the chosen one. Who in hell knows who the chosen one is." "We'll get the chosen one," Rayne said angrily. Ushina began walking away, still her boots echoing through the castle. "I will. And use her...and the crystal.."
Dead Alice
"Are you alright, Father?" Azaria asked concernedly. Tobias blinked. "Who're you, young lady?" he said in bewilderment. "You have amnesia..." Azaria sighed. "I'm Azaria, don't you remember anything?" Tobias just scratched his head. "I'm afraid I cannot heal memory loss..." "Az..." Tobias mumbled. "Remain sitting, lest you further damage yourself." Azaria sat in one of the front pews, folding her hands together in prayer. "Dear Ancients, I seek guidance. I'm not sure what's going on, but I need answers..." Her voice was barely audible, even in the silence of the empty church. The thunder was beginning to end, and the rain ceased flowing down the windows. As the clouds parted, a beam of light shown through the stained glass, falling on Azaria's fragile form. Tobias squinted. "My eyes..."
Squall
That was just a tiny bit manipulitive. If you don't mind, I'd like to go back and show just how my character came to attacking an old man. ------------------- Kayo left the castle, annoyed about the task on hand. He started to walk casually through the Underworld, even though nothing was casual about that hideous place. He decided, for time's sake, that he would ride horseback to Menendel. When he found a suitable steed, he set off at the swiftest pace the horse could muster. He reached Menendel in a matter of hours, his horse now ready to collapse. He unmonted at a stable, and let his horse rest inside. The stable boy was just leaving as he got there. "Hey." Kayo said, grabbing his arm. "You wouldn't happen to know anything about the Chosen one, would you?" "The chosen one?" The stable boy asked, confused. "Sounds religious to me. Try the church down the road, Father Tobias can help you." He nodded thankfully, and headed down the road. He got to the church, and walked in. Tobias smiled warmly. "Welcome to the house of god. How may I be of service?" Kayo didn't like churches anymore than he did priests. "Uh, I'm looking for someone. I thought you could give me a hand." The father nodded, and beckoned him in. "Please, sit down with me. Who is this one you are looking for?" "Well..." Kayo pulled up a chair. "I'm searching for the Chosen One." The name made Tobias jump a little. "For what purpose?" "I'm on a job, no questions asked." He said reluctantly. The father glared at him. "I'm sorry, but I know nothing. Please leave, if you would be so kind." "I know you know something." Kayo said, seeing it in his eyes. "And I don't have the patience to find it from somebody else." Tobias stood up quickly, and took out a cross. "BEGONE, DEMON!!" Kayo threw the table out of the way and kicked Tobias's knee to make him fall. He grabbed a red crystal from his belt and held it to Tobias's head, the information streaming out. Tobias screamed and fell limp, as footsteps were heard rushing down the stairs. A church wasn't the place to fight, so he took to the window. "Ow...father!" "Too late! I got what I came for!" He jumped out the window, anticipating he would be followed. He ran into the alleyway, and turned around just as Aris ran in behind him. "Why did you attack the Father!" He demanded. "Sorry, pal, I ain't got time to explain." He grinned, hid by the shadows. Aris held his sword in front of him. "I won't let you go!" Kayo's gauntlets flared up, illuminating his face. He looked truly demonic. "Well then, I guess it's play time." Kayo charged, throwing a fist that was easily dodged. Aris readied to slash down on Kayo's exposed back, but didn't have the chance since he had to block a burning knee that drove him far back. Aris skidded and returned to his stance. "What the hell are those?" "These babies are all it's gonna take to take you out." Kayo grinned, punching his gauntlets together. "Now come, feel my fury!!" The (Sic) Shape
Rayne appeared at the entrance to the Tower of Lerenie. He silently walked toward the front gate, his Blood Reaver drawn, ready to attack anyone in his way. He realized that there was no one nearby and quickly entered mist form through the gate and reappeared on the other side. "Intruder!" Rayne heard a priest yell. "Don't let him escape!" Soon, three others entered the chamber and quickly began to surround him, their staffs drawn. "Surrender, vampire, and we shall grant you an easy death." "I could say the same to you," Rayne said, "But I would be lying." Rayne charged toward to one of the preists and stabbed through him, instantly killing him as his blood began to be absorbed by the blade. He quickly pulled it out and slashed a preist behind him in half. The others slowly began to chant their holy spells, and Rayne laughed with amusement as it did absolutely no effect on him. He watched as the preists slowly begin to cower away, but Rayne suddenly vanished into mist, the priests still staying alert. "Where did he go?" "Keep your guard up." Rayne then appeared right behind one of the preists and with a quick swipe of his sword, instantly removed his head from his shoulders. He looked over to the last preist, and dashed in front of him, grabbing him by his neck. "Tell me, which is the quickest route to the highest level of this tower," Rayne ordered. The priest struggled to escape his grasp, but Rayne's grip simply strengthened. "Please." The priest was able to point to the stairs behind Rayne. "Th-that way," he choked out. "Good," Rayne said, "Farewell." Rayne then sunk his teeth into his neck, and dropped his body after he had his full. He laughed bitterly as he once again vanished into mist. inti
OOC: So sorry I'm so late everyone! I've had work and swimming practise (Swimming Carnival coming up next week). I guess I'll just get on with it then. Oh, and Wasabi, it's great that you chose to find Varidos (my character) because otherwise, I wouldn't know where to start... IC: "WHAT?!" "I said you shouldn't be so hasty to rush into battle like that. You could be killed," said Varidos calmly. "Look kid, I don't have time for this. Are you going to fight me or are you just going to stand there and evade me like the chicken you are?" the man made clucking sounds like a chicken and flapped his arms around in the air. Fuckwit... thought Varidos as he waved his hand slightly, sending a full force blast towards the crazy-looking opponent. The poor guy was dead before he hit the tree 100m down the road. "See? I told you so." Varidos smirked and made his way down the path towards Scyllaria. The scenery was beautiful, in most peoples' minds. But to Varidos, walking down a tranquil road surrounded by greens, yellows, bright reds and the many other colours of the elven forests, was like hell. Well, hell for an angel. In this case it was like God's heaven to an imp or a demon. The forest seemed to reach out to grab Varidos and pull him to its heart so it could turn him into one of the mindless twats that inhabitted it. No fat chance. Varidos looked ahead to see how far he would have to walk until the forest died off into the Dead Plains before reaching the rocky valley that is Scyllaria. Not an elf in sight to stop him from a clear path and an hour's walk. He breathed a sigh of relief. If he was seen by one more elf, just one more elf, he'd snap. The bloody things seemed to have an odd brain function that kept their mouths flapping open and closed like the wind was blowing through them. Even if there was nothing to say. The last time he bumped into an elf, it said it was graciously sorry, and asked if Varidos would like to come over for an evening's supper in return for his forgivness and friendship. Varidos said to piss off and that just being within ten feet of an elf killed off brain cells at a rate of 15 a minute, and lowered his IQ dramatically within the hour. Naturally, the elf had absolutely no idea what he was talking about, and Varidos had to endure 3 and 1/2 hours of senseless chatter. As he walked down the road, Varidos tensed. Something was watching him. "Look, if you just come out and say it, I won't have to kill you," he muttered. Loe and behold, an elf leapt out of the trees. "Whatcha doin' thar on the path to the Dark Quar'er?" it asked, "On'y bad peeple go down tha' way." Varidos couldn't tell whether it was a man or a woman, so he supposed it was a mix of the two. "Hmm...what would you say the odds are that I am one of those 'bad people' you speak of?" he asked. "Awr..I dunno 'bout tha'! Yer lookin' like ye're a goodin'," it managed to spit out. It was amazing how badly the forest had affected the hippie elves in this region. "Well, let me give you a clue then. I'm a wizard with a dark staff. I just killed a man down the road back there," he said pointing to the tree back where the man had died earlier, "What would you say now?" "Ay'd say tha' man was a baddie if'n ye're havin' ter kill it." "Well then. I'd say you're wrong there." "Oh, I'm so sorry thar sir. Wood ye like ter com ter my place fer a supp'r for me f'rgivn-ness?" "Ok, I don't think you're catching my drift. I mean for you to fuck off so I can get on my way to the other evil demon worshipping friends of mine in Scyllaria," Varidos was about to snap. "Ye're mixin' with bad peeple thar young'n." the elf-thing said. Just fuck off will you? Varidos thought and took up his staff to hit the hippie elf across the face. It was a successful hit, and Varidos had added an extra boost with the force blast he had used before. The elf's head went flying. Varidos ran down the road to see if he could catch up to it before it hit the ground. OOC: Please note that all of the elves in the Scyllarian region are strange hippie-like people that talk like Hagrid (from Harry Potter).
Talon
Aris bent backwards, snapping all of his latent mental capacities to attention, to avoid a double punch from those flaming gauntlets. If only he hadn't been in such a rush, he'd have picked up Fierce Dragon.....Risal and the crossbow would have to do. Aris:Damned fool. I've battled MUCH worse than the likes of low-class, not to mention LEVEL, demons like YOU. Kayo:Insolent little...ARGH! Kayo took Aris' bait, swinging wildly out of anger and missing that Aris was leading him in a spiral pattern. Aris suddenly brought a glowing Risal up, right in front of Kayo's face. Aris:Gel'na Jyar Ilsfi ARIS!! Aris Vorpal Tornado! Aris disappeared as a thousand slashes made deep cuts all over Kayo's skin. As the blade-storm dies down, Kayo jumped upwards and ran off before Aris could restore his senses. Kayo:Farewell, Vorpal elementalist! You will not stop me, now, from finding this Azaria, the Chosen One! Kayo vanished as Aris stared after him. As Aris' senses returned to him completely, he turned around and ran for the monastery. Aris:(thinking)Azaria?!?! No, it couldn't be......then again, it has to be! I've got to protect her! I MUST!!! I'd rather die than see her...in....pain......?!?! Aris slowed to a jog, wondering about what had just crossed his mind. He came to the monastery's door, forcing it open and walking inside. He saw Azaria, safe and sound, and let out a long sigh. He gripped himself, mentally shaking himself to what was going on. He looked at Azaria once and felt strangely....peaceful. Something was wrong with him. He was thinking of something that made him incredibly happy. And it WASN'T chili-dogs...or hanging from the ceiling right over Azaria......it was just Azaria. Aris:Yup, that's it. I'm a moron. I'm going insane. This is all a dream, right? Unfortunately, a large burn from a punch to the chest by kayo told him it WASN'T. Then he noticed the light surrounding Azaria. He drew out Risal, rushing to her side. Aris:Azaria, WATCH OUT!!!!
Kanariya
Ushina walked away from Rayne's castle, very pissed at him too. She knew he was a wizard and all, but he wasn't one of those goody goody ones. Unless Pyne lied to her. If he did, she would kick is ass so bad.... Ushina brought the event behind her, but remained in the back of her head. Ushina turned into an alley on her right, seeing as normal, a usual fight between vampires. She, expressionless, passed by them with no trouble. After she left the alley, she made her way through the dark Underworld, passing by usual fights and bloodthirsty killers. "Seems some haven't fully delighted themselves," Ushina said to herself, going through the alley. "All I have to do now is to find Scyllaria, wherever the hell it is," Ushina said. Then Ushina smirked. "I could have a big feast while I am at it," she said. "There's bound to be some wandering humans outside of here the Underworld. Might aswell go." Then after, Ushina began her way to find the 'wizard.'
Ayokano
"So why did you came?" the elven girl asked at a table. Lorth looked at her. Why wouldn't he come for her, but deep inside he felt he needed to go somewhere else. Somewhere to help. "I am going on an adventure, and I wanted to meet you again." Lorth said. He gave out a long sigh. He didn't want her to think he was using her for a place to stay. She looked at the table. ".... D-Do you still love me......" she said solfly at it. He also looked at the table. "........ It is a forbbiden love Liona." he said. They both knew the two kingdoms would disagree with their love. A tear rolled down her cheek, and his eyes burned. A got up, and walked out of the room. He went back to the stable to get his steed, and was blocked by her. "I do not want you to leave." she cried. She opened her arms to him, and the holded each other. Their lips met, and it seemed forever till they lefted. They let go, and he went ot his steed. Alone in the stable, he looked at the brown horse. "Do you have a name?" he said softly to it. the horse let out a sound, and he assumed it didn't. "Then your name is Liona." He got on Liona, and rode off to where he thought he should be.
Dead Alice
"Huh?" Azaria stood up in confusion. Her moment of peace was interrupted, as soon as Aris collided into her. "What's going on?" Aris looked dazed. "The light... you were... in danger..." "The light from the window?" Azaria was confused. "It's because the clouds disappeared..." Aris was about to protest, until they both realized that he was right on top of her. "S-sorry!" He scrambled up quickly, his face turning red. Azaria was slightly pink, but still had no idea what was going on. As she stood up, Aris was turned away, scratching his head in embarassment. "We must help Father Tobias regain his memory," said Azaria. "What? Oh, right," Aris shook his head. I understand him less every day, Azaria thought. Talon
Aris stared at Father Tobias, examining his head. He pulled out Risal when he found the culprit, slapping the large bulb at the back of Father Tobias' skull with the flat of the katana. Azaria started. Azaria:WHAT THE HELL?!?! You could have killed him!!! Tobias:Urgh....head...hurts........ARIS!!!!!!! Aris:no, I couldn't have. See? He's all better. Azaria:What about the bloody lump? Aris:What bloody lump? Azaria pointed to the bloody lump. Aris:I didn't do it. Azaria:You PINHEAD!!! Azaria stormed off after healing Father TObias' new headwound, leaving Aris and Tobias in the chapel. Tobias:Well, lad....yet again you've managed to piss her off. I need some ice..... Aris:Yeah.....I guess...you do. There's some in the wine cabinet. Tobias:Aris, you surprise me. You did your chores! I might have to change my opinion of you and side with the village! Aris:Village...? Tobias:I won't hide it any longer, you're the most popular lad in town....with everyone but Azaria, it seems. All the young women, even the human ones, want the daring warrior-strategist for their own. Except her. Aris....you MUST protect her, even if she hates you. She's- Aris:I know. So I'm popular....I'd rather....never mind. Aris handed Tobias the ice, walking to his room and carefully shutting the door. He thought hard about it as he shucked off his shirt and lifted his weights, staring at his wall, where the carving he'd made of Azaria and Tobias hung. He sat like that for an hour, lifting his weights mechanically, before he noticed the tears seeping down his face and falling to the bed. Aris:Tears...? Why am I.....crying? Is it because she....she....hates me? I've made a huge mess of things. He dropped his weights, which sent a loud THUD resounding through the whole monastery, and stared at his hands. Aris:Do I...love her? DO I LOVE HER?!?!?!?!?! He fell to his knees on the floor, staring at his hands. Father Tobias and Azaria threw open the door. Azaria:Aris, are you alright?!? We thought you'd died! You never drop your...Aris?!?! That burn...Aris, are you alright?!? Aris looked at Azaria as she instinctively bent over to heal the large, angry red burn on Aris' chest. He gripped his fists and pulled away, the "healing" hurting worse than anything. Aris:Agh! Azaria:Aris?!?! Aris:Out....please...just out! Azaria:But...your burn.... Aris:I need no healing. just peace of mind. Please, just get out before the pain drives me insane! Azaria:Let me heal it! Aris:Your healing hurts worse than the pain for me, now! Just PLEASE......I need some time alone. I can handle the burn. it hurts no more than the gash did earlier..... Azaria and Tobias left the room, amazed at the difference in the Drow. He'd never before been serious anywhere but in a fight, and today, he'd done his chores and now this.... Azaria worried that he might be sick. Tobias KNEW what was wrong with him and kept quiet. It wouldn't do for him to say anything just yet......
Dead Alice
Azaria sat in her cold and lonely room, staring blankly out the window. What's wrong with him?? I hope he's feeling alright. In her naivete, she saw nothing beyond Aris's friendly and sometimes annoying face. "Azaria?" She heard Father Tobias' croaky voice coming from the door. "Yes, Father?" "I hope you understand, that Aris needs to be alone," he sighed. "Is he sick?" "I'm not sure..." Tobias was quite good at lying. "Just let him be for a while." "Alright." Azaria nodded. Everyone's acting so strange... She decided to resume her prayers. The clear sky didn't stay for long, but it didn't rain the rest of the day. Kanariya
Ushina shut the door to her dark hut, and stood inside her hut by the door. She had decided to wait for a bit; a rest. She just hoped no one would interrupt her though, for the sake of them living. Ushina opened her pitch black coffin in her bedroom. Her bedroom had red beads hanging from the cieling, and pitch black walls. Nothing was in here except her coffin she had slept in. Ushina looked inside, staring at the blood red velvet inside her coffin. She put her left foot into the coffin first, then her right. After, she lay down in her coffin, and then closed it with her hands. She began to sleep... BANG! "Dammit!" Ushina yelled, pushing her coffin up to see the black paint of her cieling. She stepped out of her coffin, then ran down the steps of her hut. She opened the door, to only see Pyne. She cursed under her breath. "Ah looks like your in a pissy mood," he said,. Ushina glared, then walked out of her hut, closing the door behind her. "You want to go find that wizard, don't you?" he asked. Ushina crossed her arms across her chest, then nodded. "Lo-I mean, Rayne is being a total ass about it, saying there are only good wizards and junk." "Then you must be going, no? You have to go through the Otherworld, into the path and everything. Have you been there before?" Ushina nodded no, and Pyne chuckled. "Beings who haven't been there are going to get a big surprise." "What do you mean?" "It's a dangerous path you know." "I don't give a damn Pyne. Just tell me where to go." Pyne sighed, then put a hand on his hip. "All righty. You just go past that black path by the red trees on the edge of the Underworld. That's the only path to get out of the Underworld if you want to know." "How do you know these things?" "I listen and I sneek. Is that too hard?" Pyne said. Ushina glared, then began walking away from Pyne, leaving him smirking by her hut. "Have fun!" he said. Ushina rolled her eyes. "Don't count on it!" she yelled back.
