G/S/B Master
I was about to post up an RPG sign up with LOTS of pictures (estimate to be 42). I was wondering if I could post them seperately, as each picture I send up is a URL linking to it's profile. Each picture post is 1 dynasty/forces, except ones that are small (member wise). Also, how much images can you fit in 1 post? Edit: What brought me to this question is that the forum said I had too much images in my post. Lady Asphyxia
*blinks*...Fourty Two Images? Well, I personally do think that it is too much to post. A few images here and there are fine, but people's computers have to actually load these things. And when you say post them seperately, do you mean attach a new attachment to each post? That would require multiple posting, which is seriously prohibited. Perhaps if you just include the url next to it, so the pictures won't be needed? Personally, I believe that two pictures -- three at the very most -- is acceptable in a post. More than that, I just think it's going overboard, and I'll leave the thread. Hope that helped a bit.
Semjaza
I don't know if you have the resources, but from the sounds of it... it might be easier to just throw all of this up on a bunch of HTML pages and linking to those.
G/S/B Master
Erm, not attachments. But picture links. Ilm probleby going to skip the RPG for a while until I can get to anywhere near the issue.
Guest cloricus
Host it on your isp's hosting and link to them using [img] and the post will take as many as it can; if you need to use more pictures than that you probably shouldn't as that limit would have been thought out. Remember that a lot of the browsers on this board only have 56k and opening a page like that would kill their connection for several minutes. Basically you'd be going over board. AzureWolf
If I remember correctly, to access your FTP space on AOL: Go to Keywords --> type in "myFTP" It's pretty self-explanatory from there. AOL has changed quite a bit since I've had it, so it might be different. Still, you can do a search for "FTP" on AOL's website and I'm sure you'll find all the info you need/want. James
Rather than displaying all of the images in your post, it might be an idea to simply use text-only links on certain images (perhaps the bigger ones or the less significant ones). That way, people will see most of the images when they load the page...but they'll have to click to view the bigger images. It's more of a courtesy to 56K users than anything else, I think.
Guest cloricus
Sorry G/S/B Master I assumed you used a real internet service provider. Erm it might have some sort of "fake" ftp system that you might be able to use depending on how dodgy they are deciding to be this month. Other than that get some hosting with a free webhost that supports external linking like netfirms.
