Seinfeld and/or Friends

These two shows are my favorite. Both of them come on one after another on TBS Supersation starting at 6:30 EST with and episode of Seinfeld. After another episode of Seinfeld comes on and finally, at 7:30 EST, Friends comes on. Both these shows are hilarious and it really sucks that this is the last season of Friends. My mom has been watching the show since it came on 10 years ago and I started watching it when I was about 8-9 years old so 5-6 years ago. My favorite characters in both are, for Seinfeld, Jerry only because of all the sarcastic remarks he makes. He is just hilarious especially when its about George. I just got finished watching an episode where George eats and eclair out of the trash and Jerry just nags at him throughout the whole show. It was so funny. My favorite character in Friends has to be Joey and/or Chandler. Joey just because how stupid he is and how the creaters make him so funny, and Chandler for his sarcasm and jokes as well. So does anyone watch either of these shows, and if so, what are your favorite characters in each and why?

Wow, both of these shows are horrible. I can't stand to watch either. Seinfeld is just plain stupid. He is stupid as a comedian and his show was stupid becuase it was stupid comedy. There is a reason why none of the cast members could make it with their own show, because they all suck... with the exception of Jason Alexander because Duck-Man is way cool.

Friends... Friends is a show full of white people and bad acting... not to mention the plot sucks. How long can you go before the show turns out to be this huge orgy. Horrible writting, glad it's ending.

They may have their funny moment,s but overall I think both shows are horribly overrated and I honestly don't find them that funny.

Wow. . it's unusual for me to find people outside of the group that I hang out with that have the same feelings as you do TN. I admit that I have watched both shows. . more then I should have. . but it's awful writing, and a surprise that both shows are going to be icons for years to come, when much better written comedies die after only a season or two. A few good lines in a show don't make the show worth watching. It's like the people that sit through Nascar waiting for a wreck *smacks forehead against a wall*

I know shows like this gives people something to talk about when they are at the 'water cooler' the next day. . but if you can't find something better to talk about then "Oh my, did you hear Ross commited suicide yesterday?" I would suggest you find a hobby that can produce something more then an altered state of reality for your imagination.

That may seem a little harsh, so sorry if you take offense to anything I said. I enjoy the shows that have some sort of . . intelligent writing? *grins* Ya, that will work for now.

That's an odd stance considering I'm sure you talk about random shows and/or games with other people. Someone talking about Freinds or another show the next day that you don't like is somehow different? People talk about TV shows, it's nothing new.
Well I think they meanmore on the lines of obession. Kinda like people who watch soap operas.... they don't even know the actors name, just the character they play. They act like it's real life almost, at least thats the impression I get from the Friends viewers.... Seinfeld viewers aren't like that though, Seinfeld just isn't funny. There's no reason to laugh at some of the poorly written jokes on that show.

Well, first off, Sienfeld and Friends are so completely different that I really don't see them as being comprable. Different types of humor.

Friends went on past its natural life span, like the Simpsons has. In its hayday, it was pretty good, but now...it just sucks. Ross and Rachel's horribly complicated and unrealistic relationship just burns to watch, Monica's got personality disorders, Chandler's a annoying punk...only Joey and Pheobe are still the same characters they were, and even then, they're just not endearing anymore.

Quite frankly, I'm only watching to see how everyone ends up. It's not like there's anything that great on TV anymore, anyway. (Aside from "Scrubs").

Seinfeld, on the other hand, knew when to bow out. Sadly, it did so with one of the worst series finales I've ever seen. Still, it was a great show, and better than Friends ever was.

I watch seinfeld after watching the simpsons on Fox. I do like the show and some episodes give me a laugh, but it isnt something I want to watch every day. Friends I watch whenever I see it. I love that show even tho i dont watch it every day. I am incredibly sad that they are finishing off the TV show. I know they made alot of seasons but its saddening to see it come to an end. I will probably never see Pheobie and Joey and all the rest of the cast again... unless they make good movies that I would watch. I will miss Joey incredibly. He is an amazing actor and very funny! Chandler and him always crack me up. Ross has his funnies also and hes a really cool cast member! But noone adds up to Chandler and Joey. I also love Chandlers last name, Bing! hahaha! It so unique!

Wow, I didnt expect to get these responses. But hey people have different opinions...

And DeathBug, I know they are different types of humor but since they come on back-to-back I thought I would put them in the same topic instead of making two different ones. ^_^

I think both shows are hilarious. A lot of people just don't comprehend the humor on Seinfeld, just like the humor on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm. The humor on Friends is very overt, while the humor on Seinfeld is not.
