Darius_Stomu
It actually been about 2 weeks since I've listened to LP cause my brother hid my CDs....I'm going nuts here too. Like I said, LP is one of the few things that keep me here. Gah.... I too didn't like Reanimation all too much either. Too much rap...rap gives me headaches...At the least it isn't white trash rap, talking about there mothers and family and their 'hood'. I'm so glad of that. Meteora is one of the strongest CDs I've listened to to date. Numb, some how, always seems to make me cry. And this is coming from a sadistic goth that's living with preppies... Outlaw Melfina
I liked Linkin Park from September to July 10 literally. I was like the only one to like them and it was made known to everyone in a few weeks because I was the only one to like Rock and still do.I think it's irritating because I'm black and go to a black school and like Rock. After I stopped liking Linkin Park, I aws heavily into them and own two albums which I'm stuck with, I moved onto Placebo wierdly enough and they are my fave band now, though I like to keep it secret because I like their music but not how they look and honestly really freak me out!
Retribution
Hey, I'm Black and I'm Proud (Say it LOUD!) Anyway, I like Linkin Park's Reanimation and Meteora albums, but I'm not quite feeling the Hybrid Theory or any other of their Super Xero, Hybrid Theory ones. Reanimation I liked because they put a techno / rap spin on the rock songs of the previous album, bringing more diversity and choice to their songs. Meteora was good for because during the verse, they would rap, then chorus they would sing and rock out, which was good, but they did this for ALL of their songs!!! This is the basic structure of their songs: Verse - Rap. Chorus - Rock, Sing Towards the end - Whisper Immediately after the whisper - SCREAM LIKE HELL! I can't stand the screaming, so i hit the stop button on my Media Player, then go to the next in the queue. My fav. song by them would be on Meteora Track 12? Session. I can just imagine someone floating in space. Can you?
Dmitri_Dragoon
I really like Linkin Park, I really do. But unlike most, I dislike the rap element of their music. In my opinion Rap is the Anti-music. Since there is no actual talent needed to rap. All you have to do is be able to rhyme. Thus, I didn't like Reanimation, nor did I like most of Meteora considering that's what most of the songs consisted of. Rap verses, and Singing chorus's. They would be a much better band, in my opinion, if they dropped the rap, and fleshed out the songs a little more. I don't like spending fifteen bucks for a thirty minute c.d. I also concur that they need to get some new songs out. I've totally lost interest in them. I tried to listen to one of their c.d.'s a while back and it just bored the hell out of me. Guest chocho_chobits
I'd like to know what everyone thinks about Linkin Park. The last board I was at made them come out like nothing so I would like the opinions of those with more intellegence than a Dodo bird.
heyy, linkin park is just the best, their music is really good esp in hybrid theory :D wohhoooo! Fall
To me, their music is very similar in every song. Even that said, I still like them enough to take second spot for one of my favourite all-time bands. Like Metallica, they make very heavy use of the electric guitar, and this is what I really like in music. "One Step Closer" is an awesome song. "Papercut", "Figure 0.9", "Don't Stay", "Run Away", and "Crawling" is music that I can listen to in any situation. Up loud all the way. Their songs seem to have depth to them, alot of meaning if you listen to the lyrics. And that's a trait which I like about Linkin Park.
Darius_Stomu
Fall, you know exactly what I'm talking about. LP isn't just a random band out there to me. It's there because they're putting their TRUE emotions into there music. They make rap sound GOOD. And that's a lot coming from me. They make yelling have a purpose. They give you this tingly feeling when you listen to their music...at least I do...cause I feel what their music says... Pardon the ranting... Nehszriah
Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands! I like most music though, so my opinion is sort of mixed. Louis Armstrong, Patsy Cline, Evanescence, LP... my range is pretty broad as far as music is.
pariettilion
I really love linkin park, they are perhaps my fav. band. Although its true, some of the music is really repetitive, I still love most of their songs. My fav. songs are In the end, and some where I belong. But, I my most favorite song they ever did, which was a bit less noticed was My December, (I think that's what it's called it goes like "This is my December, this is my time of the year" anyway, I love that song, there's not as much screaming and all, its a bit slower. Darius_Stomu
That's the right one. My December has to be their slowest and quietest song ever. I love it though...reminds me of my youth I suppose.
Guest NumbDecember
I'm part of the LPU (linkin park underground) and personally I love LP more than any band. Only for my own personal reasons of how they really affected my life. I've seen them live and they are amazing performers and I've met them backstage. The LPU is a great place for LP fans to come together, but it's getting overcrowded and I've noticed all the younger people that are starting to like them. It IS because they are so mainstream and why do u think theyre mainstream? I personally think it's because people DO like them, and even if you say you dont...most of them secretly like them. Not all, but most...thats my 2 cents :D
eleanor
I never got why so many people here [and other places] hate Linkin Park. *shrugs* I like listening to their songs when I'm doing work or drawing or whatnot, so I don't really listen very closely. Nevertheless, they're good to hear. :3 I don't really go in and find out what kind of other bands their are, I only listen to bands I like that I've heard from friends or the media, and Linkin Park is one of them. XxLinkinParkxX
Ok guys Linkin Park are so not bad there amazing....Hybrid Theory....was a ana amzing album...Reanimation...was a remix album.....not a second...there technical second album was Meteora ....and Meteora was amazing....just in sane...and then after that was Live in Texas.....witch was kinda like Reanimation.....but better...im not saying that Reanimation was bad because it wasnt......there just doing things in a pattern...because they dont have time to make a new album ever month like Jay Z lol.......so they just try to keep the fans entertained by Releaseing something different...there next Cd is comeing out early 2005 after the Projekt Revolution tour......LP isnt a bad band....and there lyrics are there to reach out to people....so if they sound alike....the message is way different....you gotta understand...lol....LP is kinda like a "band for the fans" lol and i love them if ya couldnt tell by the Name lol.... Shi no Tenshi
I don't like them. But I respect them somewhat for introducing me into the alternative part of music- as well as Limp Bizkit and Korn I must admit *shakes head*. Their songs do get repetitive and often bore me. I was into them a good two to three years ago (they've been around for longer, but I can't remember when their first album came out >.o), but now I am into stuff which is very elite for it's genre, which annoys me cause I can never find music to match my standards! No matter, Chester used to be alright looking, but I don't even know what he's like now.
