Semjaza
This is nothing special, but it's about all I've been working on that's "artistic" ( I use that loosely because this is just graphic design, it's not art) in any sense of the word outside of v7 stuff. Anyway, this is a fanlisting on a game series known as Mr. Driller. I basically took a screen from the GameCube version of the game, cleaned it up some and sliced it up so it would fit a website layout. I then cleaned up the Mr. Driller logo and erased quite a bit of useless colors on it so it would fit nicely. I did it with tables because it was just easier. I could have laid it out with CSS and DIV tags, but I just don't have the patience for it right now heh. I've been thinking about making the image on the top of each page different, but the main issue right now is that the current image is huge as it is (like 100kb) and I don't want to put an unnecessary load on anyone that goes there to join it. I also feel that it's missing something. I've been thinking about putting the various characters in the text area to liven it up a bit... but I don't know. Any suggestions? Kinetic
*found this thread from your other thread* :p Anyway, it looks great, but I agree that it seems to be missing something. I'm all for plain layouts, but this one seems a little too plain, I don't know why. I think that adding characters would be a good idea, but it might be even better to do it in the far background instead of the text area. I honestly don't know.
