Kanariya
I actually got here from an IM conversation, other then that, I wouldn't have been here if it weren't for me buddy. At first I was amazed how different it had looked, and how much blueness there was. I was very lost at first, then I started to navigate everywhere, and I am pretty thankful that the Otaku Jukebox is right there. I always had to pop up to my otaku and get it. >.< Though at the same time, I was a bit disappointed about the changes, since I was so used to everything before. But now, as I go along, I am starting to get the hang of this, and I see how good this version is. It's easier, for the edit avatar, signature, etc. thing, and there is more of a variety of fonts and colors. ^_^ I love the new limit size for avatars too, I always could never deal with the 80X80 ones. They seemed too small for me, although I still used them.
jblessing
1) Do you see them releasing a patch for this or would complaining have some effect? 2) http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.otakuboards.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=%28detect+automatically%29&verbose=1 Also just a note that the jukebox has a few problems in Moz 1.6 and ffox.8 both on clean installs and with then with adding apple updates (for midi handling) in the size of applet and working at all areas. I assume since even Opera and IE6(sp1) are having some troubles that this is a work in progress?
I highly doubt vB3 will incorporate this into 3.0.0, it might be suggested and planned for a release in 3.1.0. Also, you may want to re-validate ;) . Heh. Apparently, a few issues slid past me as I modified the boards from the beta phase. All is good now, except for the '&'character. I'm not worried about it though. Still compliant :D
James
I'm really pleased that everyone is starting to get into V7. ~_^ It's cool that after only one day, people are starting to find their way around and discover all the fantastic little improvements. I had actually expected people to feel uneasy for a lot longer than this...so this is nice. And then, as time goes on, you guys will have some cool new skins to play with as well. So hopefully that'll improve the experience even further. Also, regarding thread searching...you'll notice, at the top of every thread, there's a "Search this Thread" feature. Click on that and you'll get a small drop-down box, with a quick-search tool. Type the name of the thread you want to create...and you're all set. The site will tell you if there are any similar ones. It's a really quick process and it's a lot more precise than using the left navbar search, because it only searches in the one forum, rather than the entire site. Once you play around with that in-forum search, I think you'll find it a quicker process.
AzureWolf
I have to say, when I wasn't logged in, that sidebar looked like a waste of space (it might shy away new members - just a thought). However, when I actually logged in, I was very impressed. Just a few questions/suggestions/comments, since this thread seems to be the place to mention things like this: LOVE the new reply bar/box since it works like MSWord, including all the shortcut keys, so it makes typing something SO MUCH faster. This little box is one of my favorite things about the new v7. Goodbye vB code... Seriously, highlighting and clicking (or pressing keys) is faster than entering [*something] followed by [/*something] You might need to update the descriptions of the forums. The anime lounge still says something about "any animes not listed below" or something. You couldn't make the custom font idea? I mean, it's no big deal with this new reply box, but I'm just wondering since I couldn't find it in the user control panel and it was one of the most-asked-for features. Oh, and the hybrid viewing... I like the idea, but I wish instead of making a link to the solitary post, it would jump you down to where the post is. You know, kind of like how "view new post" worked. Haha, that's all for now.
wiccansamurai
The sidebar threw me off for a little while, but I think I'm getting the hang of it now. I also like the skin idea. Once I get a bit more used to it, I'm sure I'll love it even more. The only thing I can't figure out is this: Are the cookies (is that the right term?) gone? Whenever I leave and comeback, I'm always logged, or if I leave the site alone on my computer for too long. I have to say, this may be just my computer, but I'd like to know wether or not it is. If I missed something about this, sorry. Now to grab a new skin..... :tasty:

jblessing
Actual threads are a different story ;) . It is pretty much pointless validating a thread, just because of all the non-sense code that can be added by users, or even by the WYSIWYG editor. And wiccansamurai, before you login.. there is a little checkbox that says 'Remember Me'. If you have it selected, your cookie will not timeout. However, if you de-select it, then once you close your browser the cookie will be deleted. (cookie is how your login info is stored).
Sui Generis
Oddly enough I really have no complaints. I've found the skin I love, I like the new style, and all the new options are well...nifty. Seriously, in my opinion, you guys out did yourself this time. I knew Version 7 was coming, and I expected changes, but man this is great. You guys basically completely re-did everything, and its just so cool. It took me a couple minutes to get used to the style and such, but I think its so much easier now, and it looks so much more...professional, and laid back at the same time. I really do love the new layout, and style. I think it will be easier to manage as well, for all mods and admins so thats a plus. Great job guys, I have no real complaints.
Armadillomon
OK I have to start out by ranting. I CAN'T STAND THE NEW ANIME SECTION!!! Now that I got that out of my system, I'll elaborate. None of the Digimon threads are where they should be. It's like you deleted them or something. I looked in the archive and the most recent Digimon thread was from 2003. I also couldn't access a thread that I'm subscribed to. I just want to know why you got rid of the individual forums and combined all anime into one big forum. I think it's stupid and confusing. I will let you know, though, that I do like the easier-to-use posting options and the fact that myOB options can be accessed through the side panel instead of going forever and a half through them, as was the case before. Baron Samedi
I don't think anyone has responded to wristcutter's valid point about underlining links. Did you notice my subtle linkage of 'Valid Point'? Aside from the colour difference, that is? Without it, you wouldn't have noticed. If you want it underlined we need to use the 'U' tags now. Any way to quickly and simply fix this?

Chances are, we might make the link to match the overall color of the skin. So, liquid would be blue and Geisha would be purplish. Anyways, we'll see and I'll leave it at that. Domon
Umm.. There just happens to be a really big problem with the Adventure Arena. The Censoring Software is back up and enabled. I mean a lot of rpgs in the Recuritment forum have ratings in them for mild cursing and things of such nature but now the censoring software is back up. I was just wondering if this is going to be permenant or will it be removed again?
James
I wouldn't call the censor a "really big problem". It's something that we'll switch off in the relevant forums, as soon as we can. So don't worry. It shouldn't have too much of an effect on your RPGs, unless every second word is a swear word.
