While filping through the channels today, I came across the TV guide channel. I stopped and took a look at the schedule, and to my surprise, I found this show on MTV2. I hard just barely heard of the series before. I knew that it was anime, and that it was done by pretty much the same peopel who did Escaflowne, so I headed straight for the channel and began to watch.

After getting over the first shock that it was actually on MTV, i started to watch, and got really interested. This show turns out to be one of your cop drama shows, only one of the main characters isn't human, he's an andriod. I only got to see about half an eposide because I had to leave the house, but if anyone else has been able to actually see an eposide, please say what the series is like, and weather you liked it or not. I couldn't tell you when it was on, or if it'll be on again, even though I hope that it will be.

Like i said before, the animation style is like that of escaflowne. I personally liked the little that I saw, and was hoping to be able to come back in time to catch the next eposide (there was two on back to back) but unfortunatly missed it.

Your comments please! :)

I don't really know about this show. I mean, its on MTV2 who still shows reruns of Beavis and Butthead. This anime(what else to call it?)is actually pretty good I must say. The characters could be alittle better and the plot is like a Matrix forrunner. I really like J alot and his sidekick reminds me of either a really bad commical releif. I see this show as being Butch Kasidy and the Sun Dance Kid.

I don't know why people are judging the show just because it's on MTV2, cuz thats why some people I know aren't watching it cuz they figure this is an MTV anime. I was like...BLAH! I LOVE IT! Claire is the coolest. The whole cop drama anime has never really been my type of anime but after watching it....I'm already trying to save money to buy it. Now I must wait till next Saturday to see new episode. Can't wait. And what is wih Claire and his obsession with grenades? I know they remind him of his father but....??????
Yea, this isn't all that bad. There's the animation style from Escaflowne that really rules.
Hi, duelist 22. While your grammar and punctuation skills are VERY nice, it wouldn't hurt you to make your posts just a bit longer. Thanks!

Anyone heard of it? I was watching it today on MTV2 and thought it was pretty awsome. It has a lot of action in it, and is well put together. For those who haven't, it's about a city who has banned all androids/robots from ever existing. They (humans) destroyed them all except for a few, J, who is legal to have, and Vampire's servants, which is illegal. Vampire is evil, he is a snob who likes to kill people for fun. Dieskea is J's partner, both of them are dtectives who are trying to put Vampire outta his sins. Anyone have a comments? :D

I merged your thread with the official Heat Guy J topic.

I'm kind of mad that I didn't start watching this show earlier (like, a couple of years ago). It's really so much better than I had anticipated, assuming that the quality of the first disc carries through for the rest of the series. I guess I should've paid more attention to all those good reviews.

Satelight did a magnificent job of animating Nobuteru Yuuki's distinctive character designs, and I was pleasantly amazed to see that Yuuki had come up with a new psychotic bishounen design that's just as distinctive as Escaflowne's Dilandau. There need to be more lip rings in anime. And with that thought, on to volume 2!

This is definately a series you can easily get addicted too. I bought the disks 1-3 collection the other day at Best Buy for only $20, definately a steal, esp. since now they've come out with the complete box set. The action is really continuous throughout, but the story really starts to pick up around disk three, and on your way into disk four is where the real story begins it seems. My favorite episode is one called "Angel" and I believe it's on disk 4. (I have yet to buy the rest of the DVDs, but I plan to soon.) I really like how they combine the CG with the still animation. I find this series to be artistic in a sense, but beautiful none the less. I wish AS would pick it up so more people would watch it, it really deserves all the good reviews it gets!
