Fire and Ice

Yes, with a new OB version comes a new banner and avatar from OtakuSennen.

After being heavily inspired by Kinetic's new banner, I decided to toy around with Paint Shop Pro for a while. I then came across various patterns and designs that can be placed into a work. One happened to be this swirly, liquid-ish design that appealed to me.

I then decided to make a banner out of this. The Change-to-Target tool once again was a godsend, and I made both orange and blue versions. After deciding that I could not decide between the two, blue and orange were then fused together into one wonderfully swirly banner.

I really do like this one, and my only problem with it is the text. I just can never get text to work properly.. It must be a curse.

Again, here is another avatar to throw on the pile of poorly done ones. I have never, and I mean never made a half-decent avatar. They're all just poorly done crop-jobs or something that would have looked better if it were well-done.

Yeah, I'm going to go kill my computer for crashing on me three times before I had the oppurtunity to save these images.

I love the effects Sennen but, as you mentioned, the text is lacking.

I too have had monumental difficulties with PSP?s text options. The text comes out fuzzy sometimes and several fonts are unusable at reasonable sizes due to this.

I especially like the hexagonal patterns in the ice portion of the banner, they contrast nicely with the deeper orange within the fire swirl.

All I can say is to continue fiddling with the text, as it?s the single area where you could improve.

Yes, I really do like the mix in your avatar in banner, it's very creative.

I can see your problem with the font, and that's really the only problem with it, as you had stated. The patterns/effects are very good, and the faded border is perfect for both avatar and banner.

Complimentary colors. I love it :toothy:

I love the blending in this and the transition from blue to orange. The hexagonal pattern in the blue area is great, but I would love to see it as a more subtle tone so that it blends in more because the image has a very 3 dimensional form but the pattern is sort of 2D and it gives it an odd perspective that is kind of uncomfortable. If you manipulated that to an angle, that would probably fix it, but I think that making it more subtle would work best. That's a very minor thing though, and the banner is simply amazing. Although the text could be much, much better. Though I don't know how PSP's font system works because I've never used it. Great job!

I can't tell you the trouble I have with font! That's why I make smaller banners, i just make the font on my own with the paint brush tool, but I guess you could say I do it that hard way (PSP has the worst font).

I think it looks really awesome. The affects are really sweet and I love the whole fire and ice thing that you got out of it after mixing the two together.
You must have PSP 8 cause I don't think 7 can do affects like that, and if it can... I am a very sad person...

The avatar ish cool too, although it is a bit plain, I would maybe add some font to it, like your name or something. Having some cut-outs would make it look pretty cool as well. ^^ awesome job Sennen!

Sennen.

Sennen.

Sennen.

Sen... just kidding ;).

It looks really good. I [as always] prefer a solid border, but it doesn't look too bad. I think that the hexagonal background in ice should be straight though... you seem to have overlayed a few. Me? I just like lines.

The swirls are excellent. It is blended together sensationally.

Now... for the text.

I thought it said something. Because, the unbolded letters read 'Fence'. However, it seems it is just a mistake. So I can't give you any credit.

Heh. Aah well.

Nice work.

Aesthetics: 8/10 I like borders though.
Technical: 9/10
