Sandy
FINAL FANTASY LEGENDS & LEGACIES CRUSADERS OF CRESCENCE In the world of Crescence fate brings an unlikely group of future heroes together to uncover the truth behind the Seven Scourges plaguing the planet. They all have to choose their paths to achieve their mutual goal, which is no less than the salvation of humankind. WORLD OF CRESCENCE: Ten thousand years ago the planet called Crescence was hit by a huge meteor, causing the planet to lose one fourth of its original mass. The dozens of pieces left from the crash are now circling the planet as moons. When looked upon from the right angle, the planet looks like a crescent moon ? thus the name. From the broken quarter, the planet?s Core is visible, shining in all colors of the rainbow. In legends the Core is where the monsters and demons, but also the dreams, come from. The sloping area around the exposed part of the Core is called the Grail Crater. The Core radiates its eerie atmosphere to the crater as well. Almost two quarters of the remaining surface of the planet is covered by water. The last quarter consists of the continents and the islands spread around the vast oceans. The most populous of the continents is the northern Troika Continent, containing three united countries known together as Three Thrones. Largest of the three is the Queendom of Mertonia, where magic flows from a gigantic green crystal connected directly to the Core. The pillar, known as the Euphony Tree, is located in the wondrous capital city Miraclion, where all the most important magic makers gather once every tenth year to discuss the important issues of the world. The city is encircled by the Soulflow, round river where spirits of the Dead guard the city eternally. The queen of Mertonia acts also the highpriestess of Trinity, comprising of Goddess the Creator, Guardian the Preserver and Doom the Destroyer. The office is not inherited, but when the queen feels that her time is drawing near, she will call potential women around the world for a trial, and the best candidate is chosen as a Holy Heir, who will sit on the Throne of Mertonia when the queen passes. Miraclion is the only big city in the fertile country; outside it there are just wild crystal forests, small rural villages and flowery fields. The climate is warm because of the strong magic. Mertonian people are tall and slender, with hair color varying in all colors of rainbow, from bright red to deep purple. Because of the Euphony Tree they often possess magical skills, but wielding a sword isn?t strange to them either. The second country in Troika is the Aristocracy of Rosaria, governed by noble families ? or Houses ? who all have a rose of different color in their heralds. In Rosaria honor is life, and combat is every man?s duty. There are two large cities in the country, sworn rivals to each other: Avalot, ruled by the House of the White Rose, currently sitting on one of the Three Thrones, and Camelot, ruled by the House of the Red Rose, leading the Rebellious, who oppose the reign of the White Roses. The landscape of this westernmost country in Troika Continent is filled with misty moors and deep lakes. Cool winds sweep through the lands, forcing the people to hide inside sturdy stone buildings. The people of the country have long tradition of battle and war tactics, but they are also deeply religious. They often have a steady build, and their hair color is fair or scarlet. Last of the Three Thrones, the one of Astenia, belongs to Duke Cid ? only the running number changes, current being the 13th. When one Duke Cid passes away, his closest living male relative will become the new Duke Cid. Lately the country has specialized in capturing magic inside machines, and the capital Mekanopolis is now completely dependent of such machina. There isn?t much life outside the capital, though, as the landscape is mountainous and the soil rough and rocky. The climate is temperate on the valleys, but cold up in the snowy mountains. Astenians are the smallest in size of the people of Troika, and they have dark, thick hairs. But what they lack in size they make up in intelligence, and they are considered as the most scientifically advanced nation in whole Crescence. The countries of the Three Thrones meet at one point along the southern coast, and in that point lies the bustling trade city Port Junction, namely free from the politics of the Thrones. In truth, however, the coastal city is governed by a City Council, and rumors say that all of the three rulers of the continent have their own sources inside the Council. There are people from all three countries of Troika ? and Arch Continent as well ? but those who are born there have a natural insight for trading and bargaining. To the southeast from the Troika Continent lies the vast Arch Continent, all of which belongs to the Archane Empire. However, most of the continent is deserted, as it is right on the edge of the Grail Crater. The population concentrates on three locations: the highly fortified Imperial Capital Archabad in the south, from which the Emperor ? currently a small child ? is never supposed to leave; the western harbor city Port Azure, notorious for its questionable freedom of laws; and the northern mountaintop city of Crimson Heights, home to the mysterious Dragon Monks, who prefer a secluded life. The great desert in the middle of the continent ? known as Gargara Desert ? is infested by monsters from the Core, thus few are the people who dare to go there. The desert is considered as the only route to the Grail Crater, but nobody really wants to go there. There is hardly any vegetation on the continent, and the climate is hot and pressing, although the coastal area gets fresh winds every now and then. Because of the climate, the Archane people have dark skin and hair. They are usually slim, which is beneficial for careers such as dancer, thief and assassin. In Troika Continent the people of the Empire are often considered mischievous and untrustworthy, and this attitude feeds the Archane?s urge to make a living by any means necessary. The people in the Three Thrones also accuse the Archane for putting their Emperor above the Trinity, which really is a fact. The Emperor is considered omnipotent, but since the commoners never see him, this power is used by Imperial Advisors. South from the Troika Continent is the small but very fertile Monsoon Continent, also called the Forests of Eternal Rain, for it is entirely covered by green jungle, with only occasional mountaintops peeking here and there. Inside the jungle live many unfamiliar monsters, and vagrant tales tell that an entire race of savage beastmen can be found there: furred, bestial looking people wearing feathers and pelts and carrying spears and bows. As the name tells, there is almost always tropical rains pouring down to the forests, but the climate is hot nevertheless. At the south pole of the planet is the measureless Glacier of Icenflare. It has gained its name from the blue crystal pillars bursting from the ice everywhere. It is said that in the actual pole of the planet rises the true Icenflare, a huge crystal pillar very similar to the one in Mertonia, except where the Euphony Tree is spring green, the Icenflare is arctic blue. Because of the close effect of the Core, the glacier is filled with huge monsters, but the legends say that before the meteor struck, an ancient race inhabited the lands, and that the ruins of the culture can still be found somewhere there. The waters of Crescence can be divided into three large oceans; around the Arch Continent is the Ocean of Dawn; to the southwest from the Three Thrones is the Ocean of Dusk, which has the most islands ? known as the Twilight Isles, inhabited by monsters from the nearby Grail Crater; and the water area around the Monsoon Continent is known as the Ocean of Peril, because of its many reefs and stormy weather. This is the planet of Crescence, plagued by the Seven Scourges, apocalyptical entities from the unknown. Warlord spreads dispute inside and between the nations, Avarice makes the rulers insatiable for power and wealth, Plague spreads contagious diseases and Famine makes the crops fail, Nightmare twists peoples? minds, and Malform does the same with their bodies. The seventh, Ragnarok, makes volcanoes erupt and ground shake, rouses tidal waves and hurricanes and sends meteor showers down on the people, making it seem like the planet itself has turned against its children. But what is the truth? * * * Alright, people, care to join the crusade to save this pretty awesome world I?ve created? (Honestly, I?m very proud of it!) As always, I demand quality and dedication from the players I choose ? and also knowledge about the Final Fantasy series. Also, I will take only from 2 to 6 people in, just to keep it simple and clean. The main factor in whether you?re in or not is of course the signup sheet, following next: NAME: this game goes under the Final Fantasy ?title, so I expect the names to be like the ones in the series; to be more specific, I won?t accept anything with an apostrophe (e.g. L?Adih D?a?ah), or anything too common (e.g. Bob), or anything I know some of you use in every single RPG you sign in, or anything that is the same as your member ID; what I encourage is something imaginary, original and creative (like in the games), yet existing names are approved as well (and now I know I?m making too big a deal out of this name issue...) GENDER: male or female, no other options, sorry! AGE: I?m reminding you again about the FF ?title of this game, so remember that in the series teenagers/young adults are usually the most common age-group, and anybody past 30 is an oldie (I will forbid something like ?999 years? or ?been here since the beginning of time?, because nobody gets to be a god!) APPEREANCE: again, since Final Fantasies are made in anime-style, I encourage you to make up your character in same style; yes, the hair can be of extraordinary color (see the introduction for details about hair-color), and yes, the characters can wear kimonos and skimpy outfits, but especially pay attention to which country your character is coming from: in Astenia people dress like in 1800?s, while in Arch the style is Arabic/Indian and in Rosaria it?s medieval; unlike in the game series, the outfits can ? and probably will ? change during the course of the game; you can use a picture, but it would be better just to use description, because it?s more original, and you have to put more effort in the character HOMELAND/TOWN: consider this one carefully, as your character will be pretty much based on it: the way s/he looks, behaves, what?s his/her job, relation to the rulers, perhaps... But please stick to the countries mentioned in the introduction; I?ve also mentioned all the cities of the world, but if you want, your character can be from a small village (name and location is for you to decide); just remember that Archane Empire has only three cities and no villages; your character cannot be from wastelands such as Twilight Isles or Glacier of Icenflare, but I will make an exception in Monsoon Continent, so if you want to, you can be a kind of Ronso-type of beastman (color and pattern of the fur and the ?horniness? is up to you to decide) BIOGRAPHY: again, I?d like you to use the introduction of the world to make this; I have nothing against your character being related to the leaders of the countries, or even ? in restricted cases ? one of the leaders, but ?zero to hero? ?types are also welcome; so just use your imagination, while at the same time keeping it in the limits of the world I?ve created; oh, and you cannot be a villain (because the villains are the Scourges), but this doesn?t mean you cannot be otherwise naughty or mean (I just don?t want this to be all black-and-white); and the more in-depth the better, although you don?t have to write everything the character has experienced here (and I?ll just shut up about this now...) ALIGNMENT: you have three options: Orderly, Neutral and Chaotic; this will affect mostly on the behavior of your character (so make this match your bio), but also to what kinds of jobs you can advance to; Orderly characters obey and defend the laws and the ruler, Neutral characters do what is in their own best interest, and Chaotic characters oppose laws and restrictions, to the point of criminality (notice how this isn?t the classic good vs. evil ?arrangement); also, your alignment has a lot to do with what part of the Trinity (respectively Guardian, Goddess and Doom) your character is blessed by (but no need to worry about this now, since this nuance of the plot will be revealed during the game) JOB: in the beginning I should advice you to stick with basic jobs, like soldier, mercenary, thief, healer etc. ? this game involves a character advance system of some sort, so you can change it to a more powerful one later; there is few special advanced jobs made for this game: Templar Knight (equivalent to Paladin; they work for the Temple of Trinity in Mertonia), Dragon Monk (equivalent to Monk/Dragoon; they are masters of martial arts, and can temporarily transform into a dragon; they live in Crimson Heights in Archane Empire), Demonologist (equivalent to Summoner, they can summon demons of the Core, but the powerful creatures are pretty unreliable), and Soul Reaver (equivalent to Morpher; they take the souls of the monsters they fight, and use the souls to transform themselves into monsters of the same type) ABILITIES: simply put, I allow up to two action abilities (besides attacking with weapon and using items) and one special support ability; just link these to your job, like a thief can have A-abilities ?Thievery? (containing all kinds of stealing) and ?Throw? (can successfully throw weapons at enemies), and a S-ability ?Agility? (higher speed and evasion); this game is a lot more plot-based than battle-based, but it would be nice to have few battles to show off the characters? talents every now and then (it?s really challenging to write battle-scenes as well!) WEAPON: like before, link this to the job you choose, but be creative as well, like a mage from Astenia could have a Gadget (type of magic-machine) as a weapon in stead of a Staff or a Rod; you can have a special, named weapon, but just remember to mention its type; the weapon can also have special side-effects (such as poisoning, or some element); the weapon (like the outfit) can, and will, change during the game * * * Summa summarum, just read everything I wrote carefully, and you?ll be just fine ? and do not hesitate to ask if something is left unclear, since there is pretty much stuff put into one in this game. I hope I?m not scaring you away with all this info, because I tried not to be too controlling, but I guess it?s just my nature or something... But bare with me, I?m willing to negotiate about everything! I just want to have a good quality FF-RPG, and enjoy myself! Besides, if this goes well, there is a good chance for the FF Legends & Legacies to become a series of its own! Yea for continuity! Okay, just to give you a final idea of what I was talking about earlier, I?m putting in my own character: NAME: Gale Godspeed GENDER: male AGE: 24 APPEREANCE: very tall, muscular young man with angular face and sharp gaze; long, grayish blue hair and gray eyes; in the beginning he wears a dark blue cloak covering a light-blue tunic and black leather pants with several belts and pieces of armor in critical places HOMELAND/TOWN: Queendom of Mertonia/Miraclion BIOGRAPHY: Gale is the son of Queen Fuschia of Mertonia and sir Armus, the head of the Templar Knights, but since the Queen isn?t even supposed to have children, let alone get married, Gale was brought up by his father. This doesn?t mean nobody knows who his mother is, but it?s kept as one of those ?public secrets?, and nobody talks about it out loud. Gale himself is ambitiously trying to prove himself to his father ? and even though he doesn?t admit it, to his mother too ? but he is constantly failing. Currently he serves his parents as a mercenary and bounty-hunter, doing missions for payment ? and for approval. His latest mission to track down and kill the Soul Reaver Sade, a female assassin from Arch who tried to rid the world of the Queen, failed miserably as she fled. Now Gale has returned to Miraclion to ask for yet another chance. By nature Gale is serious and conscientious, yet he is easily provoked. He doesn?t much care about women ? or men either ? but he has sacrificed his personal life for serving his parents. ALIGNMENT: Orderly JOB: Mercenary ABILITIES: A1: Sword Art ? uses physical soldiers? moves learned in the army (Slam ? damage with stun-effect; Armor Break ? lower target?s defense etc.) A2: Paysword ? spend gil (money) to improve attack power S: Counter Attack ? retaliate when hit physically WEAPON: ?Gilventure? ? an oddly shaped yellow longsword that has an amazing ability to attract gil * * * So that?s something I had in mind. I really hope you get as excited about this as I am, because I?ve really put an effort to get this thing up here. And if you really want to play this game, but have trouble with the character, I have a few good ones in store, like a Queen-to-be who isn?t that thrilled about the idea to be a Queen; and the Child Emperor of Arch, who gets fed up just staying inside the palace walls and decides to go out and explore the world. This is about all, I think. I?ll stay and wait for those signups (I won?t wait forever, though, but like I said, I only need 2-6 players). And again, do NOT hesitate to ask if anything?s left unclear! PS. Don't forget to look at the attachment showing the map of Crescence and the Trinity (yes, the pics are stolen from FF6, but they fit!)

He started with the usual jobs of a young theif, small things and such. The person who helped him most in this time was Yang, who had been a thief since he was Cortez's age and saw himself in Cortez. When he became seventeen he was fully brought into the Thieves guild and given intructions to leave Port Azure to prove himself worthy of the title and to only return when his task was complete. Sandy
Just a quick notice on your sign-up, Jokopoko. I really like your character, there's nothing wrong with him, but I don't think the abilities you chose are very logical. Cortez is a thief, right? So why isn't his action-ability "Steal", or "Thievery" (the latter includes similar skills as Zidane had in FF9)? And I'm definately not going to approve "Perfect Dodge" as a support ability - don't you think it's a tad exaggerated, too? I suggest "Alert", which enables the character to notice surprise attacks, and dodge some attacks (and thief is very agile by training, anyhow). If you do these minor changes for me, you're almost certainly in. Thanks in advance! :)
Zidargh
It's good to see another Final Fantasy RPG, especially considering it's from the creator of the big hit, 'Final Fantasy Survivor'. Good times indeed. May I ask though, if you choose 2-6 people, make sure they are definitely commited, because with that limit, the RPG can die quite easily. However, I'm looking forward to it. Is it possible to make up my own minor job-classes from previous Final Fantasy games? I'm thinking the original Final Fantasy Tactics-wise here. I hope so as my character will have that, heh. Also another question, considering I'm making up a village, could the dress be sort of FFVI like or something? I hope so too... Here it is anyway: - ------ Name: Biggs Clankheart Gender: Male Age: 19 years of age Appearance: Due to the fact that Biggs is born outside of Astenia, he does not follow the traditional dressware which is tradition by itself and nor does he have the appearance of the inhabitants of Astenia, however his birthplace is unknown. Biggs is an average heighted (5ft, 11'), slim man with light-silvery coloured hair which seems more white than gray, with very light blue, tiny and thin streaks scattered around the hair. The hair itself isn't long but of a spiky nature, though the spikes are more floppy with medium sized clumps being the actual spikes. The roots are held up by leather and metal goggles which are tied around the fore head. Biggs is of a handsome nature with deep, dark brown eyes and a young sort of face, so neatly shaven that no facial hair can be seen. Biggs's clothes are made of denims sold in Astenia and other materials, which he had sewn by a tailor in his village. He wears a white T-Shirt under his blue denim jacket that is short sleeved so he doesn't become too hot in the warm temperatures. On his hands he wears black leather gloves with the fingers cut, with metal knuckles, they are a pair of mavericks really which are designed for him to defend himself in close-combat. His trousers are also blue jeans with black leather boots reaching halfway up his shins. A casual looking man and it is quite clear he is of a more practical profession. Hometown: Tumbleton Village / Astenia (Birthplace is unknown at present) Biography: From a young age, Biggs has made his ways in the village of Tumbleton, a little, technological place, powered by household machina and fed by farming using chocobos to tend the lands and make them fertile. With no memory of his birthplace or parents, Biggs only knows how he was found at the mayor's doorstep in which he was taken in and cared for as if the he was the mayor's son. At the age of 14, the mayor passed away from the passing plague that from his old age, he was vulnerable to and then on, Biggs went on to live on his own but still in the village, sad yet grateful for what his foster father did for him. Finding a talent in using and sometimes creating machina, which he learnt from the townspeople, Biggs knew that this would be his profession to survive on his own, trading his goods off to other villages and citiea. After five years, Biggs practiced his skill more and liked to think of himself as more of a Gadgeteer. With the skill to create weapons such as guns, he now felt secure enough to be able to explore and therefore it was not long before he became bored of Tumbleton Village and wanted to see the world for what it really is. So after two weeks of planning, and practice by using his fists in the local gym and newly made rifle on the Marksman Range in Tumbleton, it was time to leave. On one rainy night, the cheerful and mischievous Biggs picked up his little machina-like droid which was incomplete and placed it in his bag, alongside some water, food supplies and gear and was now ready. The droid was planned to be his companion for the travels and knew that he would complete it very soon on the way. Leaving his work-shop house, Biggs lowered his goggles onto his eyes and placed his rucksack on his shoulders, it was time to leave the village once and for all. Running towards the door and shutting it behind him, he left a brief note which was typical for Biggs on the door, 'Thanks. Been fun. Gone now. Don't mess up house. May or may not be back. Bye!' Biggs was not the most sensitive of people, but he wasn't loved by many in the village due to his mischievous ways. So, walking up the dirt path, Biggs was now on his travels, following the path to which he'd decide where he was actually going after his little friend was complete, after all, the machina is probably going to be smarter than him and now he was going to be reborn into a new life. Alignment: Neutral Job: Gadgeteer Abilities: A1: Wedge, Go! - Biggs calls upon his faithful Machina droid to unleash a random attack on the enemy. A2: Blitz - Depending on the distance between Biggs and the enemy, Biggs unleashes a combo on the enemy. (Close = Fists throw a series of punches. Distant = Rifle is shot in a Trigger Happy with the sacrifice of accuracy.) S: Sentinel - If a physical attack is executed by the enemy, Wedge will intercept and try and block the attack upon Biggs or vice versa, however, this reaction will only go to affect once during battle, and the duo need to be close and communicating for this reaction to take place. Weapon: At close range, simple Maverick Gloves/ Long Range involves the use of the Biggs's rifle. ------------------------- I hope this is satisfactory, I have another question. Should I include the little machina droid as a weapon or would that seem a little god-like, and I am willing to give Wedge a sign-up form for itself as I am capable of controlling it as a sort-of side kick of Biggs. Only if this is okay though. I await your decision.

Cyriel
NAME: Serisay (Seri for short) GENDER: Female AGE: 17 APPEARANCE: Seri's skin is lighter than a normal Archane's, which labels her as somewhat an anomaly. She has straight, dark hair that comes down to her shoulders, and into this is woven and braided in many trinkets and beads of gold. All are gifts from the royal family and young Emperor. She has elegant, almond-shaped eyes, which are a dark, honey-brown, and they have golden flecks of color. Her muscles are smooth and lightly toned from her rigorous life-style, but she's still graceful and lithe. In the palace, Seri will wear a supple cloth of rich, textured browns, burnished coppers, and gold. She wears a light tunic and trousers underneath, and then wears the cloth over, winding and draping it gracefully across her body in a sari-type fashion. Depending on the occassion, however, the colors of the cloth and tunic will change, ranging from sea greens and blues to dark, drab colors. On special occassions, when she is seen with the entire guard, she will wear the uniform of pale yellow and red. When she goes out, she'll usually wear darker colors, and a cloak or cape of some sort. HOMELAND/TOWN: Archane Empire/Imperial Capital Archabad BIOGRAPHY: Serisay is the sister of the Soul Reaver Sade. Since she is a sister of this very successful assassin, Seri was also raised in the palace, but raised as more of a protector of the young Emperor and royal family. She received the same training as her sister, but since she is younger and more inexperienced, she was kept more in the palace by the side of the rulers. She is a favorite of the young child Emperor, who looks up to her, and she is loyal to none but he. Very rigid in her code of honor, she is much like a samurai (just to give you an idea of her lifestyle.) Royal Advisors know better than to openly try to bribe and control her, but they sometimes do subtly get in favor with her. For the moment, her sister Sade's whereabouts are unknown, and so the Advisors are considering to send her out to finish the mission, and test her strength, knowledge, and dependability. ALLIGNMENT: Orderly JOB: Honor Guard/ Assassin ABILITIES: Paralyze - uses a series of quick techniques to the pressure points to produce paralyzation in the victim for a short while, usually enough to deliver the final blow or escape without being trailed. Mimic - can watch an attack once and then mimic or copy the attack pretty well; not quite perfect, but pretty well so that one would think she had been trained in it. WEAPON: Seri uses a set of twin machetes, light and elegantly used in her finesse and skill. (think Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - Michelle Yeoh's fav. weapons.) Sandy
Wow, this seems to be more popular than I thought! Five sign-ups in one night! I thought my humongously long introductions and explanations would scare everybody away... If this gets more popular, I'll consider approving maybe ten people in, but I've noticed that if too many people are involved, the more confusing and disoriented the game gets, as everybody's just doing their own stuff. I'll just review the sign-ups one by one (NOBODY's in yet, I'll announce that before the game starts). Jokopoko: thanks for making the changes, but did you notice that your A1 ability (Sneak Attack) is really a support-ability? Action-abilities are commands, which you can choose on the battle aside from "Attack" and "Item"; support abilities work automatically. Gosh, I'm such a perfectionist!! Zidargh: Whehee, you've got the spirit! You have Biggs & Wedge, and you put them in a very original position. Way to go! No complains whatsoever. Xra: I'm sorry, but you're character seems to be a bit too extraordinary... He would make a perfect goon for a villain, but for a character fighting the Scourges... I don't know, I'll have to see... Cyriel: You linked your character to the situation I wrote in a pretty good way, connecting Sade to the Child Emperor. I had my doubts on the name Serisay, but I guess it goes fine (just don't use shortening Seri, okay?). The (Sic) Shape: Same goes to you about the linking to the story. You gave your character excellent motives for a vendetta against the White Roses, I like it. Just please put the name of the family Astral is from, like the House of theBlue Rose. I'll stay and wait for more (but I won't wait too long, I have very good characters here already). I see a lack of mages (White, Black, Red etc.) here, so somebody should play those. inti
OOC: This has been edited now, so things should be fine. If no onw else signs up with an Alignment of 'Chaotic', I'll change mine. Lygan could use a bad attitude... NAME: Logan Erbas GENDER: Male AGE: 21. 22 in five days (in the RPG, if I am lucky enough to get in). APPEREANCE: Logan is quite a tall, around 5'9", muscular young man. With his chiselled and masculine features, he looks a dream to the girls. Then they see his eyes and run off scared. Logan has icey-blue eyes, almost white in fact, and reddish hair (his hair is black from the roots, then changes to a crimson red at the tips). He wears his long hair tied back, with many beads woven into his hair, each counting one different kind of fiend or monster that he'd killed in the last year. He has nearly 46, but that's only because he doesn't go looking for trouble (each bead represents a different kind of fiend). Logan wears a long crimson trenchcoat, and underneath wears a black singlet and trousers. He wears black boots that reach most of the way up his shins (under his trousers, that is). HOMELAND/TOWN: Queendom of Mertonia. Miraclion. BIOGRAPHY: Logan was born into a family of Fencers and Mages. His father's family were Fencers from Avalot, in the Aristocracy of Rosaria, and his mother's family were from a long line of priestesses from Miraclion, in the Queendom of Mertonia. Logan's mother is the 3rd priestess of the Queendom, one of the Queen's friends and helpers. Because of his mother's high rank, Logan was placed in the hands of one of the best Mages in Miraclion. The Mage was supposed to teach Logan in the ways of the White Mage, but his father's genes kicked in, and he rebelled (this is Logan I'm talking about). He wanted to learn a mix of Black and White magics, and only one path lead to what he wanted. Logan's father had also taught him how to wield the Fencing Sabre since he was 7, so he could defend himself, and hopefully take up the father's heritage. Seeing as Logan became a Red Mage, both parents were contented. A mix of magic and weapon wielding was a good combination, and Logan's mother and father knew that one day he would put his knowledge of the two arts to good use. Logan's magics became a little stronger than his weapon techniques over the years. Living in Miraclion, near the Euphony Tree had its effects. Having made his mother and father happy with the lifestyle and path he had chosen, Logan sought out jobs to do, missions to complete, and bounties to be recieved. Also, because of his mother's friendship with the Queen, Logan has known Gale since he was merely 5 years old. They often run into one another, and like to help each other out. Lately though, Logan hasn't seen much of Gale, so he needs to catch up with his old friend and get some juicy info on what's been happening. ALIGNMENT: Chaotic JOB: Red Mage ABILITIES: A1: Red Magic - chooses to cast one of the following: Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, Water, Poison, Doom, Cure, Life, Barrier (protect and shell combined), Sleep, Silence or Blind. A2: Magic Slot - Casts a random Red Magic spell with doublecast. S: Element Eater - absorbs Fire, Ice and Thunder damage. WEAPON: "Blood Sabre" - every once in a while the Blood Sabre will restore a small portion of Logan's health OOC: I have been told which spells my character can use by Sage, so don't think I cheated. Everything that needed fixing is fixed. Hope you like it. Notice how Logan's last name, Erbas, is just sabre spelt backwards? I feel so creative!!

Wondershot
Excellent, this sounds like a blast... Name: Kaeli Gender: Female Age: 16 Appearance: Kaeli is of average height, about 5'7", and is of very light build. She has light brown hair that reached to her shoulders, and wears a light beige turban on top of her head, usually covering little more than her forehead. She has dark silvery eyes and lightly tanned skin, and wears a beige cloak with a dark brown border trim. The cloak is fastened using a long belt-like cord that reaches over her right shoulder and attaches to the back, and another belt around her waist. The cloak is also weighed down with multiple books, pouches and bottles attached using small strings sewn rather hurriedly to the cloak, and pockets stuffed with money, silks, jewlery or other paraphenalia. These odds and ends usually have tiny bells attached to them, so, should someone try to steal from her, the bells will give them away. Although her arms are covered to the hands by the cloak, people who meet her usually hear the loud jangling of charm bracelets on both her arms, which range from simple thin gold and silver rings to brilliant red, blue and green works of elaborate metal artwork. Her fingers also carry several small rings, which are more likely to be her wares than personal possessions. She wears a pair of dark sandals that are about an inch tall, so as to make her look more impressive, or so she says, and her legs also clink loudly from the weight of several anklets and jewlery that won't fit around her arms. Homeland/Town: Port Junction Biography: Kaeli was originally from the Arch Continent town of Port Azure, but she was sold into slavery at a very young age by her brother, with the consent of her family. Bitter and desolate, Kaeli began to work onboard a trade ship, where most of her job consisted of cleaning and helping the drunken sailors into bed, and get over their hangovers the next morning. When Kaeli turned 10, she was allowed onto shore at Port Junction while her masters traded goods with the locals, and she ended up preventing them from selling their jewlery to a local merchant, claiming that they were simple glass. Her outraged masters grabbed her and were about to beat her when the other merchant stepped in and hit the man with a strange device, causing him to fly backwards and hit the ground, unconcious and crackling with electricity. The other crooked merchants ran away, and the other man helped Kaeli to her feet. Kaeli learned the man's name was Rin, and that he had arrived from Mekanopolis in Astenia to do some business. "I've been thinking of moving here for the longest time, though." Rin-sensei said dreamily. "I've always loved trading as a side-job, but I don't have the help needed to run a store in town." Kaeli offered her help, and an overjoyed Rin picked her up and carried her on his shoulders to a small locale near the port, currently for sale. Within minutes, Rin had bought the store, and Kaeli began her training as a merchant and store owner. Hard work, but after so many years on a trading ship, she learned to love her job. Now, Kaeli owns the store herself, as Rin-sensei now has passed on all his knowledge of trade onto her over the grueling course of six years. Kaeli loves her job, and now walks through town, carrying the load of her wares on her body, and selling to eager customers in the center of town, as well as dealing with the pickpockets with Rin's incredible shocking device, the Vajra. Alignment: Neutral Occupation: Trader Abilities: A1: Spare Change: Despite the merchant's school of thought that it is foolish to throw money away, it would seem much more plausible that one would prefer to save their life rather than their income. When cornered, Kaeli reaches deep into her pockets and bombards the enemy with her coinage, dealing damage proportional to the amount of money used, and that's worth any price. A2: Dice: What is any merchant that refuses to take chances? Not a very good one, that's for sure. Should any roaming demon care to test their luck, Kaeli gladly obliges by summoning up an ancient technique of Rin's, producing a pair of magic dice from thin air. Keeping her fingers crossed, Kaeli throws these enchanted numbered cubes into the air, and when they land, the monster's fate is sealed, dealing more damage should she get a higher roll, and increasing it further should she get two of the same number. Now that's a risk worth taking. S: Mix: Not every merchant is able to skillfully use the wares available to them to save their lives or the lives of their teammates, but Kaeli is one of the lucky ones. Using whatever magical potions she has on hand, she mixes them up as quickly as she can, hoping that the resulting concoction will help save her teammates, and not blow up in her face. When this skill is used, she mixes two potions together and uses them on herself or her teammates, either healing them more, or poisoning them. Weapon: Vajra: A small device built by Rin that fits neatly into her pocket, and consists of a tiny blue hilt with two small prongs sticking out of it. The Vajra, engraved with a tiny yellow lightning bolt, can be whipped out at a moment's notice and shocks and stuns the target. It deals a small amount of lightning damage, but, has the unfortunate side-effect of dealing no damage whatsoever to demons unaffected by lightning. Anything to be changed, just let me know. EDIT: All right, no surname, and I agree with an in-game connection proving more effective, but if you honestly would prefer a reason now, just let me know and I'll add one to the bio. Otherwise, I'll come up with something when the story starts.
Sandy
Yippee, more sign-ups, meaning more ranting for me! inti: You got my PM, so you know what are my opinions doukeshi03: I'm sorry, but unless you change your bio, like, completely, you're not in. Your character has no meaning to the story, she's just a mercenary with a rather dull background. It'd be really difficult for her to join the course of events as a some random woman. Try to make the bio more interesting, if you will, okay? Wondershot: you have something I like: originality. A merchant could come in handy... The only problem is that your character should be linked to the story by some way, but I think a link will be created in-game. Also, the little perfectionist in me is advising you to abandon the surname - she's better without it. BTW, nice idea linking Rin to this world. ;) This is becoming a true Final Fantasy world already... I've designed a new special job: Chocobo Rancher. There's definately going to be a Non-Player Character of the trade - unless somebody chooses to play it. Basically the character is able to tame the birdies and call them to battle alongside with them - and of course whenever the party is in need of transportation. The Chocobos have unique abilities related to their color, just like in the game series, but they can now use them in battle as well (in a disturbingly pokémon-ish way...) So if anybody's up for the task, go ahead and use it in the sign-up! (I consider this job a basic one, not an advanced one) Oh, and characters with Chaotic alignment are needed, otherwise the summoning system isn't going to work! Remember that Chaotic doesn't mean evil - just disobedient. ;) About the schedule: next week, guys! This game is definately going to start next week (although not necessarily next Monday), so hurry up with those sign-ups! I'll be waiting right here... EDIT: I made some slight changes to my own character info, mainly changed the Queen's name to Fuschia, and explained why Gale is after Sade. Everybody who I exchanged PM's with, thanks for bearing with me! I know I can be annoying when it comes to nitpicking (if that's the right word). Send in those sign-ups, you still have a few days! EDIT, THE SEQUEL: Important notice to The (Sic) Shape and inti! Would you two mind changing your characters' alignments to Chaotic? In Aster's case it's well based, since he is a part of the Rebellious, ie against the Throne of Rosaria. And Logan could use a bit spice, like you, inti, suggested. And this way, we get a list of the players that are DEFINATELY in (some of you I've put in a spare place, so if nobody better signs up in a day or two, you, too, are in). There's 9 places in total, and here's the list: Orderly Characters: *Gale, the Mertonian Mercenary (Sage) *Serisay, the Archane Guard (Cyriel) *EMPTY (Spare place: Rane, the Mertonian Knight (doukeshi03)) Neutral Characters: *Biggs, the Astenian Gadgeteer (Zidargh) *Kaeli, the Archane Merchant (Wondershot) *EMPTY (Spare place: Cortez, the Archane Thief (Jokopoko)) Chaotic Characters: *Aster, the Rosarian Dragoon (The (Sic) Shape) *Logan, the Mertonian Red Mage (inti) *EMPTY So three places up for grabs... I'm making this more competitive now, just to get you to HURRY UP!! And to the players already elected, I want an oath of DEDICATION, in written and in three parts!!! ...Okay, not really, but you know what I mean. Arcadia
Um. I sort of went crazy with the bio, I think. Hopefully it'll work, though. ^_^;; Name: Ascencia Cadence; House of the White Rose Gender: Female Age: 22 Appearance: Ascencia has the dark scarlet curls of her family and she wears them long, though while she?s on the job her hair is more often than not pulled back into a complicated plait. Her eyes are a deep charcoal gray, often as vague and unclear as the mists that surround Rosaria?s moors, and her skin is pale and unblemished. Like her mother and sister, Ascencia is widely known for her beauty, but unlike the other women, she is more known for her reserved manner of dressing. As a member and Liaison of the House of the White Rose, she wears mostly uniform black or white, with longs skirts and fitted tunic wraps that conceal her womanly curves. Homeland/Town: Avalot, Aristocracy of Rosaria Biography: Ascencia is the youngest daughter of the noble House of the White Rose; she has two older brothers and one older sister before her and parents who currently sit on one of the Three Thrones. Because of her family?s position, Ascencia quickly learned to guard her thoughts and emotions carefully and studied vigorously throughout her youth with some of the regions best tutors so that she would be a strong force within the House and a woman of respect and honor outside of it. When she wasn?t learning the art of fencing (with swords or with words), praying to the goddess, or pouring through her books, she was more often than not outside exploring and getting herself into trouble (without ever really trying, mind you). Another thing Ascencia learned quickly was to never trust a man?s words, but only his actions. The rivalry between her House and the House of the Red Rose is a notorious one and she?d grown up with the stories of the hate and bloodshed that inevitably came to be being drilled into her. Unlike many in her family, however, she?d come to believe that the rivalry ? no matter how long or how ugly it could become ? was a petty one, and even as a younger girl she tried her best to make ties between all the Houses by befriending the other children. It didn?t always work; promises and pacts were broken and Ascencia found herself in scuffles a number of different times. The fights only fueled her fire, however, and she vowed to one day end them all. When she got older, she set her sights on the position of Liaison. Here was a way, she thought, to bring the Houses together and stop these bitter, meaningless rivalries. So she worked hard to prove her mettle and traveled around Avalot and other nearby cities, creating alliances with other Houses where there previously where none. One particular incident earned her a lot of fame and interest, though it?s one she utterly hates ? a duel. A woman from another House, one close to the House of the Blue Rose, challenged her motives, and that was something that Ascencia would not stand for. Thus, to defend her honor, a duel was arranged; the first to draw blood was the victor. Both women were skilled, but Ascencia proved the better and left her opponent with a mark so that she would always remember the incident. Ascencia hates the memory only because she prefers using words to swords, and a duel was not how she wanted people to recognize her. Nevertheless, she earned a great respect because of the duel (as all of Rosaria held honor and its protection thereof very highly) and a few months later, was granted the position of Liaison for the House of the White Rose. A year has passed and Ascencia has amassed herself great amounts of respect among the people and has become a leader for many, especially among the youths. The House of the White Rose has also benefited as support for them ? and Ascencia ? has grown. Naturally, this doesn?t sit well with the House of the Red Rose, and talk of a rebellion has her working harder than ever. Alignment: Orderly Job: Fencer Abilities: Action: Lunge Art ? Allows for special moves with the rapier (i.e. Rose's Edge) Action: Fervor ? Ascencia is a religious woman, and this allows her to pray to the goddess for strength and in essence, heal herself (though not completely). Support: Parry ? Allows Ascencia to ?parry? or dodge an attack, physical or magical. Weapon: A thin, sturdy rapier, made especially for the position of Liaison. Ascencia has been known to call it Briar Rose from time to time. The sword is rumored to have been blessed, and has been passed through the line for ages. It's ivory hilt is painstakingly crafted, with etchings of roses and vines blossoming about it. The blade itself has the same designs; each twine and bloom stretches all the way to the tip of the sword.
Sandy
Mm, very good, Arcadia! I especially adore the name. ;) FYI, there's already a big connection to Gale and the House of the White Roses in the main story (which I've been planning a bit ahead), but your character will fit it just fine. The head of the White Roses is Lady Blanche, apparently Ascencia's mother, but the story involves your character's cousin as well, but you see in what context when the game starts. Anyhow, Ascencia's so good a character that she'll be in, but you need to change the technical section of your sign-up. Her job is apparently Fencer, no other explanation needed. Her abilities are a bit messed up, as well. A1 ability should be "Lunge Art", which could include "Rose's Edge" as a sub-skill (others would be included as well, such as "Checkmate", a move that attempts to kill off an opponent immediately; if you'd like, I can PM you with suggestion for all Lunge Art-abilities, most gained from the game FF Tactics Advance). Also, you should switch "Parry" to Support-ability (because it really is one), and "Fervor" to A2-ability, since it's a command you can use in battle, not just an automatic effect. Just do these minor changes for me, alright? That's a good girl! :toothy: Here's the updated list of everybody whose in: Orderly Characters: *Gale, the Mertonian Mercenary (Sage) *Serisay, the Archane Guard (Cyriel) *Ascencia, the Rosarian Fencer (Arcadia) Neutral Characters: *Biggs, the Astenian Gadgeteer (Zidargh) *Kaeli, the Archane Merchant (Wondershot) *Cortez, the Archane Thief (Jokopoko) Chaotic Characters: *Aster, the Rosarian Dragoon (The (Sic) Shape) *Logan, the Mertonian Red Mage (inti) *EMPTY Sorry, doukeshi, but you dropped out. Pm me if you want explanations, or another chance. And congrats, Jokopoko, your character is in! There's now ONLY ONE PLACE LEFT!!! I'm planning to get this thing on TOMORROW, so be quick! EDIT (yes, I apparently can't write a post without editing it just a moment later...): I noticed that there's plenty of characters from all the countries EXCEPT Monsoon Continent. And what would make a better chaotic character than a Beastman? A Beastmen (and -women) make excellent mages and hunters because of the jungle-y environment they live in, so I'd be extremely happy if somebody signed up with a character like that. Just remember that the last spot is reserved for a character with CHAOTIC-alignment, so please don't sign-up with anything else, or you won't be in EDIT (once again... Hopefully this is the last one to this post...): Alrighty, I used the "old" copy&delete&repost technique to get this back up to the top of the thread-list, since NOBODY HAS SIGNED UP, and I'm ready to start!!! I'm announcing now that the game will start, but the PLACE FOR THE NINTH PLAYER IS STILL OPEN! So if you have a good character with a lawless nature, PM the sign-up to me, or just post it here (I'll be checking this thread for a possible late sign-ups). But without any more talk, the game is now on at the Adventure Arena, so everybody listed above, head there!
Shanghai
Sorry it took me so long to come and post, I was trying to come up with a job that a character like this can take. Hope I am accepted and if this is not suitible, please tell me my flaws. ^_^ NAME: Rakurai GENDER: Male AGE: 16 APPEREANCE: Rakurai isn?t as tall as most beastmen; he stands around 5?6? and has a normal body build (not too muscular and not skinny). His clothing isn?t anything special, consisting of green colored pants with white bandages strapped at the ankles. There is a rip in the back of his pants, giving his red tail a place to stick out. The shirt he wears is the same shade of green as his pants, but at the wrists there would be some yellow cloth outlining it, but white bandages cover it. On the back of his hands, there lays the fur, indicating his beastman half, the color of the fur is a reddish color, the same shade of red as his tail. Over this, he wears a cape, well, it could be considered a cape, but the thing doesn?t even reach down to the boy?s legs. The cape?s length isn?t all that long, just extended above his upper back, yes, a small cape. The front of the cape drapes down each side of his shoulders, the thing keeping it together being some sort of piece of silver jewelry. His hair is a darker red than the fur on him, it just spiking around in ever direction. On his forehead he wears a white headband, with only two designs of flames on the side of it. The length of the headband is long enough to be seen when its blown in the wind. (So let?s say, around, 5 to 7 inches long? The hang time I mean, after its tied on his forehead) This boy wears no type of footwear, since to him that would dishonor the beastmen, but just like on his hands red fur is shown on the top of each foot. HOMELAND/TOWN: Forest Of Eternal Rain BIOGRAPHY: A boy who hails from the Monsoon Continent, Rakurai is someone who would be known as ?A lost cause? around the small village of the beastmen and women. The reasoning for this would be because of the boy?s heritage, his father being one of the mightiest beastmen, and his mother, a simple human. This would make Rakurai only a half beastmen, and giving him most of the abilities of beastmen, but also indicating that he would need to work harder to progress in the fighting skills of the beastmen. This would be even harder on the boy, for most of the people didn?t like him and basically shunned him. This would then lead to the boy growing cold feelings for them, but hide this by acting as if he didn?t give a damn to what all of them thought of him. But he knew that they couldn?t deny that the skills that were hiding within this boy were outrageous, he being as good as any of the children his age, and even better. His skills in using a pole (bo-staff, stick, spear, anything with a stick) exceeded any of the beastmen children. As he grew up in this unknown world, he always training with his pole, the beastmen and women around the village grew angry. Angry that a boy who is only half of what they were was mightier than their own children. And he had such an attitude, one that seemed so careless, but they could feel the hatred in this one. But Rakurai was a good help when it came for them to go out and hunt for food, he always coming back with something large to eat. Despite this, the villagers wouldn?t accept him for what he was; only his father would do such a thing. When he was around 14, Rakurai wanted to leave the village, to go out and explore the world, not wanting to be in a place where he wasn?t accepted as an equal. But his father denied him of such a privilege, saying that he shouldn?t go anywhere but within the village or out to hunt. He said he must stay, and not dream about leaving, stay, and live for the hunt. This hadn?t pleased Rakurai, but he accepted what he had to do and stayed and continued to hunt with his father and his little gang of hunters. But it was not until one hunt, which Rakurai would never come back to the village. What happened, was he and one of his father?s closest friends went deeper into the jungle, in chase of a great monster spoken throughout the village. Once the two of them cornered and were ready to kill it, they would be ambushed by another set of beastmen who killed Rakurai?s father?s friend. It would seem that this were planned, for when his father came to see what had happened, the beastmen (who were noble ones of the village) said that it was Rakurai who ambushed him and killed him. Rakurai himself was shocked, and protested that this hadn?t happened. But it seemed as if his father had some sort of grudge against the boy, for he took the side of the noble beastmen. Angry, and hurt, Rakurai left the beastmen village and traveled over seas (after getting some supplies and creating a small boat for himself) and ended up at the Gargara Desert (Of course stopping at passing through the Crimson Heights.) In this desert, Rakurai found away to survive, finding a few caves that were buried under the sand, and for food, he?d hunt the monsters in the desert. Also, after recruiting people from Port Azure, he became a bandit who is known throughout the neighboring towns. Sandy
Great job, Shanghai, you're in! Your character has enough depht, but not too much to make him dull. ;) Join the game anytime at Adventure Arena - you have quite a lot to read there in order to catch up with the story. ;) The recruitment for this game is now officially over, so no more sign-ups!
