Art Final banner thread

[SIZE=1]Wow, v7 looks great! Well, it's been awhile since i posted anything so i made a Haruko (FLCL) banner. I was moving to a different house and the computer guy deleted all my files so that's the reason i haven't been posting anything new. Comments would be most appreciated ^^.[/SIZE]

I definately like the 2nd version better. the first one, I coudn't tell what the blocks were. It looks a little too calm for fooly cooly, though, but that's just me. It looks quite nice, you did a good job. I give the first one a 5/10, and a second one a 10

Second one is better, however the colors need work. It's not always a good idea to incorporate every feesible color possible into a work, esspecially when they are all.... eastery in look. Those baby colors (baby blue, etc) don't exactly go well when tied all together, it's often much better to either stick to one or two colors present in the central figure you're working with... In this case, a dark red would have worked really well with your text or possibly colorizing the second opac figure int he background. Which, speaking of background, brings me to a second point, your banner lacks a compelling background... grid with one figure off to the side... It's boring and dull. However, the use of the border actually diminshes the dull and boring effect. I really like the border and I like the grid, but the text needs work, as does the background figure... maybe if you enlarged it? Yeah I think then it would be much better.

Remember, there's no such thing as bad art... but there also no such thing as perfect art either.... all works of art could use improving. Thats why we have critics.

Wow! Those banners are even better than your old ones! The Naruto one has awesome text but the bes is the sora one. The blue background squares are one of the coolest styles Ive ever seen. The haruka one has cool pictures.

Like I said when you first showed me, they're both pretty good.

For the Tetsu banner, it seems ok except for the part in the middle where it looks like you excessively blurred in one spot. What's up with that?

And the Saizou avatar (does anyone else think the avatars are practically banners now?), it seems too jumpy. I like the idea, but it could be executed more fluidly if you made more screencaps between each step. I also think you should have cropped the images so that his ears wouldn't go off the top.

Very neat. I like the way you displayed Haruko as a Baseball player to your banner. It really matches the mood of the design and color. Whatever version you make is fine; I think it's cool no matter what changes you make.

Wow, you have some pretty awesome stuff there! I agree, in the Haruko, v1 was weird, considering the ugly block thing then v2, was dramatically better, because you cleared it up. Then in your other ones, forgot which one though, I think it was a .hack. one. The boys neck was cut up... just a bit too much. Otherwise, they are fantastic. However some of those backgrounds were abit too plain, but maybe you were meant to have em like that? Anyone, summing up all of them (excluding Haruko v1) 8.5/10!!

Haruko 2nd: I like this one better, except for the fact that the background lacks color and/or excitement. The text seems a little..... off? It'd probably look better in a darker color, more of a dark red or something to go with the left picture of Haruko.

HACK (1): I like this one alot. The bluish/purple like color in the bg seems to go well with his purple hair. Although the lines in the middle look a little weird to me. Overall it's a great banner.

HACK (2): ....... Dunno about this one. The image seems to go well with the background but somethings irks me about it. I honestly do not know what. heh.

HACK (3): I think this one is my favorite, layout wise and whatnot. The colors go real well with the character and the font color goes well with the bg. :D

Naruto: I like the Naruto magna. The picture of Naruto is great and the way, and the position on the banner, is great. The border is cool, but there is the matter of the background. No color. No color what-so-ever. I don't like that, if it had some color in the background, possibly a blue and white combo or something.

PMK: I don't really like this one. One color, dark color. Hardly changes from one spot to another. The lines don't help anything either. And that blurred spot is messing with my head.

Pig: lol. And it seems sorta off centered.[/COLOR][/FONT][/B]

[COLOR=DarkRed][SIZE=1]That last banner of yours is...woah. Seriously excellent. I love the background effect and the stock/s used look excellent. Two little gripes though. I think the glow around the text should be dark blue, so as to fit in with the rest of the banner... and I think the border for the banner should be dark blue too. As Hittokiri Zero once suggested- lighter borders [than black] will often work better, and in this case it would provide continuity throughout the whole thing I feel.

I like the very last one most of all. The backround isn't that entirely busy, which is a big plus. It is also blue. Another cool thing since the color blue is my favorite color. Good job! You are certainly approving.

I only really like the last three the best. Mainly because I feel that the pictures fit the backround, Like I told you on AIM, I feel that the picture on the first one just doesn't seem to fit. It just doesn't feel right. Though I realy like your last three. I said it before, I'll say it again. You are definately improving.

Well here I am posting a reply. Well anyways...Your banners are done very well. You are also good at cutting out the images! Unlike me when I cut it out it's all...Blah.
The background images are done nicely.You do a good job in choosing the right colors to match the pictures. I wish I could make those kind of backgrounds! I like it. The subtleness of Naruto's face makes you look at it again. The font seems to work for this.

What's the name of the font that you used? I sure would like to use it on one of mine.
