No Flowers

I started this a while ago while sitting around and listening to AFI, "This Time Imperfect" from Sing The Sorrow to be exact. I know there are a few mistakes, like the left leg being too long to be further in the background than the right. And before anyone says anything, yes, he's male and yes, he's meant to be that skinny. Anyways, enjoy. If want to help me add graffitti-styled lyrics, please PM me. It'd be greatly appreciated. Comments welcomed.
On an off-topic note, I'm considering taking art next year at my school. Problem is the teacher seems to focus more on realism, or at least, she will for the 5 to 10 pieces I'd need to finish in about two weeks. Would anyone like to provide some advice to the perpetually confused?

The layout is rather interesting, as is the concept--very AFI, from what I've heard of them. That being very little. Anyway, the arms are exceptionally skinny, but in an anorexic kind of way, as oppose to a stylized way.

I think it looks really good. I'm no expert or anything, haven taken an art class as of yet, but I like the skinniness to it. Sure, the legs aren't completely even, but it's nice. And to add on to what Godelsensei has said, he does look a bit anorexic, but I assume that's how you wanted it. Also, AFI? That's what I thought of when I saw it. Your teacher likes the more realistic things, eh? Well, I myself like that sort also, but if you like the cartoon-ish way, then have at it. It's your style, but changing it for a class won't be as bad as it may seem. It's good to know different types of drawing. But I like yours. :D

You were probably going for the wavy look, but a ruler might have helped if you weren't. ^ ^ It's very original in style, as opposed to the more classic cartoons/ anime. Yeah, the hand is backwards. The shoulders are also kind of odd, as in a bit too low, but it's not that extremely noticeable.

I was going for the normal brick look, but I didn't notice just how slanted my lines were and when it was inked, it just got worst. As for the style, it's kinda borrow from Ash. I really love her style and wanted to add a bit of my own spin to it. As for the hand, that's what I get for using my left as a reference for a right. But my right was kinda in use at the time, ya know? I never noticed the shoulders though. Thanks for pointing it out.

The anorexic look makes him look much more suitably dejected and depressed. It's just how I wanted him to look.

Good point. I'll be looking at my art-inclined friends' sketchbooks then. At least then I'll know what sort of thing I need to work on.

Since I don't plan to color No Flowers any time soon, I'll just post the banners I've made in my absence on OB.
