There is no more time to wait. Amvis will soon appear in this world again, and I must be ready when he does. Or, more acurately(sp?), those who I have chosen must be ready. There is only one way to destroy Amvis for good, but I am unable to do it myself. He would expect me to try it. I must use ones who he will not suspect until it is too late. And it's time for those ones to learn of their duty. But they must first find me, for I cannot go to them. I must be careful while drawing them to me, for Amvis will be looking for me. I can only provide clues as to my location. They must put the clues togeather(sp?).

(Karanlik is sitting in a chair in his home in the port city of Vanduo, going over the day's mail. He works as a guard at the ports, but because he, unlike most guards, is intelligent, he helps manage things. Most of his letters contain scedules, information about cargo and passengers, and pictures of wanted men and women who are headed to Vanduo. But today is different. There is one letter with no information at all on the envalope. Karanlik opens the envelope, removes the letter, and reads it aloud to himself)

Karanlik: (To himself) "It is time for you to learn your destiny. Go to the ports and find the ship Hysprona, which is currently being prepared for its departure tomorrow. Locate the vessel's captain, Pantrar, and say to him, 'Rest well, for dawn will bring a new journey, which will require all you ever had, and some that you have yet to see.' He will lead you to a secure location. Once there, wait for the others to arrive. Once they do, Pantrar will explain what comes next." (Thinking) Well, that only leaves me with about five thousand questions. There's no way I'm passing this up. I just have to know what this is about.

---------------------------------------------

OOC: Remember, your characters all start in Vanduo. In your first post, have your character recieve the same letter that Karanlik did.

Kayin had just returned from training in the forest to his home on the outskirts of Vanduo. He checks his mailbox finding several letters. Kayin leaves the letters on his desk and bathes. After getting out of the bath, Kayin sorts through the mail on on the desk. After searching through the letters Kayin came across a blank envelope. What the...?!

"It is time for you to learn your destiny. Once they do, Pantrar will explain what comes next." What is this all about? There is only one way to be sure. Kayin quickly got dressed and strapped his Katana to his waist, just in case, and headed out.

The burning-red melted lead flowed in the molds, constantly producing new projectiles. Cyrrial wiped the sweat off his foreahed and opened the mold, dropping the small spheres into a large bucket of water with a harsh sizzling sound.

"Cyrrial! You've got mail!" Guntar, the master smith, called.

"Uh?" the youngling said for himself.

He quickly put everything into place and hurried toward the house. Guntar, slightly tipsy, was holding a bottle of hurral in a hand and an enveloppe in the other. By the corner, as if it burned him, or was extremely unpleasant. Cyrrial grabbed both object and took a swig from the alcoholic beverage.

"Hey, my bottle!" The large man grunted. Cyrrial handed the bottle back roughly.

"How do you know it's for me? There's nothing written on the envellope, and beside, I don't know how to read." He asked.

The man shrugged and glazed over.

"I don't know anybody that would care to get a letter written to me."

Cyrrial rolled his eyes.

"Yea right. I'll be at the professor's home."

The Professor was the only man in the neiborghood that knew how to read. In the uneducated lower classes of Vanduo, it wasn't exactly uncommon.

OOC: Keiji, there aren't any showers. Remember, this RPG's world is not a modern one.

(On his way to the ports, Karanlik sees someone holding a plain white envelope, just like the one his letter was in)

Karanlik: Hey, you!

(The person stops, and turns to face Karanlik)

Cyrrial: Yes?

Karanlik: Can I see that envelope, please? Don't worry, i won't take it.

Cyrrial: Fine, but I don't know what's in it. I can't read.

Karanlik: I can, and I think I know what's in that envelope. (Cyrrial hands Karanlik the envelope. Karanlik opens it and reads it) Thought so.

Cyrrial: What?

Karanlik: I got the exact same letter.

Cyrrial: Really? What's it say?

Karanlik: It says, "It is time for you to learn your destiny. Once they do, Pantrar will explain what comes next." I'm going, just because I want to know what this is all about. by the way, I'm Karanlik.

Cyrrial: I'm Cyrrial.

Karanlik: Are you going to come, too?

Cyrrial: Might as well.

Karanlik: All right, then. Let's get going. (Pause) Not good.

Cyrrial: What?

Karanlik: Someone was watching us. He just ran off. I should have seen him.

Cyrrial: What do we do?

Karanlik: Head toward the ports. I work down there, and I'm well known. if someone's after us, they won't try anything while we're there. Plus, others will be arriving, ones who probably got the same letter that we did. If I'm right, then finding those others is the best thing we can do.

Kayin had come within range of the ports. He had noticed that there was no difference today than any other. Everything seems normal... "Hm?" Kayin noticed two others heading to the ports with blank envelopes in hand. "Hey! You two!" Kayin shouted to them, and they looked back and waited for him to catch up.

Karanlik: "What is the problem, sir?"

Kayin: No problem. Just curious...May I see those letters?

Cyrrial: Why? Did you send these or somethin'?

Karanlik: Or, did you get one as well?

Kayin: I received one, reading the same thing. I don't know what to think of this.

Cyrrial: Maybe we should just find out for ourselves.

Karanlik: First, we should find any others who received the same letter.

Kayin: Agreed.

Chi walked through the door of her house. In her hand she held a bunch of letters. Chi sifted through them until her eyes landed on a plain white envelope. Chi looked over it and saw that there wasn't anything written so she opened it and took out the letter.

It read;
'It is time for you to learn your destiny. Once they do, Pantrar will explain what comes next.'

Chi read it to herself silently. She stood and stretched before dumping the unopened letters on the table and walked out of the door, shoving the letter into her pocket.

She had just come back from training so she still carried her sword on her back. She locked the door behind her and headed towards the ports as the letter said.

As she stood at the ports, her emerald gaze searched the boats for the Hysprona. Chi found it and made her way over. She asked someone who Captain Pantrar was and the man pointed him out. Chi walked over and produced the letter.

"Rest well, for dawn will bring a new journey, which will require all you ever had, and some that you have yet to see." she recited.

He nodded and led her away to the 'secure location' to wait for the others. Chi just chose to sit close to whatever water there was.

People has this tendency to butcher my plots, oh well.

They sat on a pile of wood by the port, glazing around. The place was a mess. Boats, wooden cranes, yellings, scared animals. One could barely hear one's self thoughs. Cyrrial shifted uneasily. A small plant started to grow in front of him and buttonned.

"I don't like this. If I had knew I was going away I'd have at least brought my sling."

The one-foot-tall hurral-plant blossomed yellow on his command. Cyrrial snapped a leaf and started munching on it. The sour taste reminded him of the liquor's.

"And a bottle of hurral from Tryun's personnal reserve. I hope I can get some wherever we're going."

He turned at Kayin, but the slightly older boy was staring at him. Cyrrial remembered what he had just done. On his command, the plant died and fell to the ground with what he perceived as a sob. His cheek felt hot and he looked away.

Karanlik: So I was right.

Cyrrial: Right about what?

Karanlik: You should know. You just showed me that I was right.

Cyrrial: The plant?

Karanlik: Yes.

Cyrrial: You can do that, too?

Karanlik: No, but I do know that doing what you did is beyond the ability of any magic-user I know of. I have powers that are beyond any standard magic-user's power, also.

Kayin: Me, too.

Karanlik: I think that everyone who got the letter can say the same thing. (He sees a man walk off of a ship) There's Pantrar.

Kayin: How do you know?

Karanlik: I work here, and I know most of the captians of ships that make port here. (The three of them walk over to Pantrar) Hey, Pantrar.

Pantrar: Why, hello, Karanlik. Who are these two?

Cyrrial: My name's Cyrrial.

Kayin: I'm Kayin.

Karanlik: Rest well, for dawn will bring a new journey, which will require all you ever had, and some that you have yet to see.

Pantrar: All three of you?

Karanlik: Yes.

Pantrar: Follow me. (He leads the three onto the Hysprona. He takes them to his quarters, where someone else is waiting) Wait for me here.

Cyrrial: This is the secure location?

Karanlik: The captian's quarters is one of the safest places there is. Sailors tend to stick together. If you do something on a ship against its captian's will, then you'll have more then just that ship's crew after you. Any sailor who can will help that captian catch you.

Pantrar: Correct. I should be back shortly.

(He leaves)

Karanlik: I'm Karanlik, this is Cyrrial, and this is Kayin. What's your name?

Chi: I'm Chi. Do you know why we're here?

Karanlik: I believe it has something to do with our rather unusual powers. I'm assuming you know what I'm talking about.

Chi: Yes. Yes, I do.

Crispin yawned as she opened the front flap of her canvas tent. She grinned and she noticed the envelope sticking out of her leather mail sack. She grabbed the enveloped and examined the front. Nothing? There was nothing written on the front.

"Now hopefully there's something inside." she commented sarcastically. She opened the envelope and pulled out the letter. She read it to herself:

"It is time for you to learn your destiny. Once they do, Pantrar will explain what comes next."

"Wha's this? Some kind of joke?" She paused for a minute. "Oh well. I think I'll go check it out."

And then Crispin, without taking time to wash the dirt that was smudged on her face, set off for the port a few minutes away from her stand.

OOC: Sorry I'm late!
IC:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alpha waited in the town of Vanduo, in the little shack she called home. She was in some sort of trance, and she looked like she wa waiting for something.
Meanwhile, the mailcarrier was looking at a letter with nothing written on it. He didn't know who to give it to, so he decided to open it to find out who it was for... It said some stuff about a boat that he did not understand. It also said something about a man named Pantrar...
Suddenly, Alpha woke up, startled. She just had a vision: "Mail... for me! And there's nothing written on the letter... Oh no! The mailman already opened it! How stupid..." She then used her powers to find out what the letter said... "It is time for you to learn your destiny. Go to the ports and find the ship Hysprona, which is currently being prepared for its departure tomorrow. Locate the vessel's captain, Pantrar, and say to him, 'Rest well, for dawn will bring a new journey, which will require all you ever had, and some that you have yet to see.' He will lead you to a secure location. Once there, wait for the others to arrive. Once they do, Pantrar will explain what comes next." Alpha stayed there a moment and quickly memorized the important points of the letter. "Go to the ports, find Hysprona, others are waiting there for me... Oh darn! I'm going to be late!" And with that, Alpha left.
Alpha ran out past the whole town towards the docks, not making any wrong turns at all. She closed her eyes and muttered, "Divine powers, guide me to the ship Hysprona!" She walked on and finally opened her eyes, and sure enough, there it stood, the ship she was looking for. She boarded it right away.
Alpha found the captain and said, "Rest well, for dawn will bring a new journey, which will require all you ever had, and some that you have yet to see." "You are coming along too?" he said. "I knew you'd come eventually."
Karanlik, Cyrrial, Kayin, Chi, and Crispin were already there. "Hello there, sorry I'm late..." Alpha apologized. "I assume we're all here because it has something to do with a faraway villain. I sense it already... Anyways, I was expecting you all to be here, and again, sorry I'm late..." "It's OK, whoever you are," Karanlik said to her. "Oh, I'm Alpha."
Chi watched the sun set and thought, "What does Alpha mean by 'a new villain'? I just don't get it. And what can that villain do? I'll let him have it when we meet him." Alpha giggled at the thought. "Determined, are you?" she asked, then giggled again. Chi gave her a dirty look. "You're freaking me out. So what if you can read my mind?" She had a strong feeling to slap her, but then she decided to just remain calm. "Who would like her anyways?" she thought. Alpha read that thought and just smiled, knowing that she was hated by almost everyone in Vanduo.
Kayin, Karanlik, and Cyrrial were talking to each other, trying to figure out why they were here. Chi remained alone in another room, and Alpha sat outside, thinking. "Everyone here has powers greater than that of any magic-user. Kayin holds the power of wind, Karanlik holds the power of darkness, Cyrrial wields the element Plant, and Chi holds the power of water. But I thought... I thought up until now that I was just a regular magic-user! I don't know why I'm supposed to be here... in fact, I see... I see in the future that I will fall before whatever this villain is and nobody will care... Everybody hates me, but who cares? It's great to be alone..."
Everybody tried to fight boredom into the night, when Pantrar suggested that everyone go to bed. Kayin, Chi, and Cyrrial were able to get to sleep easily, but Karanlik couldn't get to sleep for some reason... Alpha was still outside, admiring the view of the clear night sky. Her eyes eventually closed by themselves, and she fell asleep. Somehow, then her telekinetic powers activated by themselves, carrying her inside and onto a nearby bed.
OOC: I almost forgot that Alpha can also see into the future sometimes...
Crispin rolled over in her bed so that she faced the right. And then rolled to the left. Then back to the right again. And yet again back to the left. Finally, she sat up straight in frustration. This is all too weird... She thought. Maybe this was some gag organized by Ferris or Lyon to get her back for the fruit cart incident. But then again, maybe not. What that Alpha girl had said sounded pretty weird. Okay, so not pretty weird, really weird. A villain? What kinda villain? And what's 'e want? She wondered to herself.
The sixteen year old ran her fingers through her ginger hair. I'm not ging to be able to sleep. So she slipped out of her bed and headed towards top deck. On her way, she spotted a sleeping Alpha floating down the halls to her bed.
"Now if that's not the strangest thing I've seen so far..." She whispered to herself. Crispin shook her head and climbed up the stairs to the deck. She spotted Karanlik leaned up against the railing of the boat. She went up and decided to make conversation. What else was there to do?
"Hello there. Having trouble sleeping too?"
