Art New banner set-up

[color=#30415d]Phew, it's about time I got a banner for this version. But instead of something a little more concrete, I decided to make a series of banners, based on the images shown half-way through the Cowboy Bebop episodes, which you'll likely recognize at once if you've seen the series before. The problem is that I tried putting all of these banners into a 'random image' script, but I can't get it to work in my signature. >_< Yes, the script is aparently HTML, but it seemed to work on the last version, since James and OtakuSennen had them. So if you know how to make that work, it would be much appreciated. ^_^ The banners I made are below.

Wow, nice script. All the banners look pretty nice, but they seem to be quite slow between frames. It could just be my 400 Mhz comp, or just because there are 6 animations right next to each other. Your banners remind me of an old Cowboy Bebop banned that I created before 2004, which I quite liked.

Five seconds.. commercial break.. and then five seconds before they start the show again. Just trying to be accurate in that sense, heh.

[size=1][color=slategray]They're very nice banners, Syk, I like the first two because the negative imaging animation looks really good, They're both really well laid out and aesthticaly pleasing to the eye. So is the blue and orangeish Cowboy Bebop logo, it's really good too. Making good use of the white space and the timing of the frames between animations. :babble: [/color][/size]

[color=darkred][size=1]Impressive Syk. I don't see any anime/read manga, so your choice of content doesn't really mean much to me. However, I like banners 4 and 5. Banner 4...reminds me of a neon light outside a bar. It is really [incredibly] simple...but I love it. No denying the artistic pleasures I get from that banner. It is... a precious banner. I like the 5th one merely because of the colour scheme. The light-blue frame is complemented nicely by the stark orange. It is once again, simple, but very pretty. I like it.

I also like your border style. It looks good. Smooth and effective.[/color][/size]

In case you want to host your own pictures and your host do not support CGI, here's the php function, very simple:



You just have to replace the last number by how many pics you have, e.g: (1,6) if you got 6 pictures. So these will be the names of the pic, so you have to name pics 1, 2, etc in a sequential order.

Note that you can change the pic extension, like .jpg if you want. This code shoul be past in the html body.

So that's pretty cool if you have a host, here's how you would do:

and you would save this page as php (important!).

Then, you would upload your pics in the same folder as this php page. Now you just have to enter the url (refresh if u think it's too long)

When I started the answer I spent some time looking for the rand function in php to help you. Can't you lock the topic then ? Besides some people use "search" functions and maybe they want to use the code in PHP on their own pages...Sorry again but I really think your moderation is a bit too rigorous.

I don't see one instance in your entire post where you even mention my banners at all, and hence, you are off topic. The random script was a very small portion of the topic to begin with, and it was solved before anyone had a chance to post. If you think my moderating is too rigorous, I hate to think how you'll deal with other moderators outside of this forum. ~_^ I've been [i]very[/i] leniant on your behavior so far, and should have assumed that you hade read the [url="http://www.otakuboards.com/rules.php?"]rules[/url] from the beginning, and then penalized you from there. If you stick by them, we'll have no trouble at all.

I'm posting again here, not just to say that, as the post would disappear, but to let you know of a good trick on the banners you have.

You seem to like "old" effects on the pictures. That's typical to Cow-boy bebop I know, this "retro-fashion" style.
Well if you used this:

[color=#30415d]Hm, I'm starting to wonder whether it was a good idea to assume that many of you have seen Cowboy Bebop, heh. That being said, I honestly didn't do much with the images. In fact, they are mainly screen shots. I simply wanted to show you my idea of using different "commercial pictures" from different episodes in this random image thing where a random one of the six comes up whenever you go to a page with my post. ;p I just thought that was a pretty cool idea, and ran with it.[/color]
