[size=1][I]Legends speak of the treasure of Mortis Gandler, one of the greatest pirates to ever sail the seas in the 17th century. These certain legends tell of Mortis burying his lost and forgotten treasure on an island far and deep within the Dark Eye of the Ocean, a desolate and dangerous place in the seas. Just like the legends, the treasure has faded from the hearts of treasure hunters. Those who try to find Gandler?s treasure only perish on their way through the Dark Eye of the Ocean. Or is that just legend as well?[/I]

Captain William Bane seems to think so. Once he told his crew of his idea to hunt down Gandler?s treasure, he was unfortunately mutinied. Well, you couldn?t say as much as mutinied. You could more or less say abandoned. Bane kept the ship and everything else but the crew. They got up and left him when he stopped for a drink on the island of Santa Cotassa. When he returned to his ship, they were gone with all their possessions. All his loot was gone as well. He considered himself lucky they didn?t give him the black spot or worse, just plain left him to die on a deserted island, but his lust for Gandler?s treasure was more powerful than ever. He needed to quench this shameful thirst. He needed to get his ship and sail through the legendary Dark Eye of the Ocean to that small island baring the booty.

The deal with the Dark Eye of the Ocean is people say lots of strange things happen there. It?s a huge part of the ocean where sea dragons live, supposedly. Other odd encounters occur as well from Sirens singing to uncontrollably bizarre weather changes. Of course, Bane doesn?t believe in such nonsense.

But first, he needed a crew. At this time, he had sailed the little ways from Santa Cotassa to another island in the region known as Blackhethy. Blackhethy was filled with grade A pirates and other loons to boot. It was the perfect place to stack up on supplies and men. Will luckily had some loot stashed away his crew didn?t get their grummy hands on and therefore, he was able to get [I]some[/I] things for the voyage. The rest would have to come from the crew.

But what his newly-appointed crew wouldn?t know is that he plans on deserting them on the island and escaping with the gold himself. How would he pirate a ship by himself? He?d think about that one. Possibly take one or two men with him, but abandon the rest. Yeah, he?s a bad person, obviously. A real cut-throat pirate. But no one must know! He plans on not saying anything and making his daring escape once the cargo is loaded on his ship, [I]The Tessa Maria[/I]. But let?s not get ahead of ourselves. First things first. A crew.[/size]

[center]Alright, maties! You be the crew of this fine voyage. We?ll be needin? about 6 of ye so make sure yer up for such an adventure. I?ll be nit-picky, but you?ll most likely get into the RPG. It?ll all depend on what yer signup is like. Skip the biography. We don?t care about yer past, mate. It?s the present that counts! That and the future! Ye with me, mate? Good. [b]Name:[/b] Make sure your name fits the time period. This?ll be the 18th century (or 1700?s if you don?t know) and pirates reign supreme. Naturally you won?t be a pirate so think of a natural name that?ll be in this.
[b]Gender:[/b] I have no problem with males playing females or vice versa. Just make sure you play them right if you do choose the opposite sex.
[b]Age:[/b] Keep it reasonable. People back in those days lived to be around 60. Don?t go to the 90?s here :p Also, no kids. 20 and up, please. Still, let?s keep a nice variety of ages :)
[b]Occupation:[/b] Though you?ll be on my ship and whatnot, you?re no pirate. In fact, I want you to get a very normal job. One a townsperson would have. What makes this RPG interesting is William Bane hires unusual crewmates (the reason why is so he can ditch them without fuss or trouble). So when choosing your occupation, go for a medic or a carpenter. Make even a cartographer (person who makes maps). Be creative, but keep it simple.

Yes, that be all you need to get yourself into this. You don?t need long descriptions for anything in there (you can with occupation if you wish. If I see your writing skills are well done, then you?d most likely get in). But some rules for in the RPG will be no one knows about Bane?s plan of mutiny, no God-Modding, and other such things. I?m sure you will also know the rule of don?t signup if you can?t roleplay or write well. Also, don?t sign up if you?re not gonna post.

No worries. I don't "weed out" new members because they're new members. People will be excepted into this RPG by their writing style (which I've seen what you guys can do in other RPGs) and how well your chara works in with the crew. :)

It was really tough to decide, but like I said, I chose the ones I think would do the best with this as well as what their character's occupation was previously. We must remember that the Captain is going to ditch most of these punks and he wants them the least sea-worthy and such as possible. That or they're pretty lousy workers. Whichever.
