Art Theft

This person: sesshomaru4me at [url]http://fanart.theotaku.com/artist.php?user_id=3004[/url], is stealing the art of others, claiming it as her own, and refusing to remove it even when asked by the actual artist. It would be nice if some of you could point out to this person that this type of behaviour makes her, sadly, a pathetic loser, and can get her sued (especially since she was stupid enough to rip some of the art from a professional who sells her work).

Regardless, "her" work, "Mother" and "Asian Angel" (actually called "Motherhood" and "June Birthstone Angel" at the original artist's gallery, at [url]http://mistressofspam.deviantart.com/[/url]) does not belong to her.

Oh, yeah you seem to be right. That's really a shame. But from the looks of things, that is definitely art theft. You can even tell there's a portion missing from the pics that would've had the "copyright... no copying without permission..." line.

Well I notified James, and he can take whatever measures are necessary.

She erased the copyright information, but if you look closely at the top left of the pic, you'll see she missed some of it.

Just in case there is any doubt. *I* am the original artist and I am absolutely infuriated. Aside from the complete mutilation of one of my images, because they wanted to hide my copyright info, the fact that the pics are STILL up there is making me pitch a complete fit.

And for that person that so blithely ripped off my art..... I have arthritis. It costs me in pain to be able to do images. Literally. And the motherhood pic, that was one that I did for my dearest friends, after she and her husband found out they were going to have a baby, after trying unsuccessfully for over 6 years.

Those images MEAN something. They aren't just doodles that I scratched out out of boredom. The june angel took apporximately 12 hours to do from start to finish. The motherhood took over 38. And that's 38 hours of me in complete pain because I can't hold a pencil for very long without my joints starting to ache.

so yes. I am completely and totally infuriated. The only places online that I have put art on are deviant art, elfwood, epilogue, and my personal gallery. Not this site.

There's only a handful of people who can fix this. You either have to go through theOtaku and tell Adam or wait for one of them to see this thread. Not much else can be done.

When people that do this are found out, they're deleted and their IPs are banned. However, you can't really expect them to know if something they've gotten was stolen or not until they're informed of it. Too many people submit stuff to that site for them to know.

oh no fears. I never get angry with the admins of galleries when this happens. I just spaz and freak about the people who have the nerve to stael my art in the first place.

And I see that it's been deleted. So if the admins happen to notice this thread, they have my gratitude.
