mornigndew
Monk, they lived in monestary. They have no desire for love (between man and woman). They're vegetarian. There're more about them that I don't know. They shave their head.
Transtic Nerve
They invented beer hahahaha and I'm dead serious... they used to have wild parties... they would be confined all day doing their work for God, and at night, when they were done, they'd basically throw parties and they invented beer... or alcohol or wine... one of those... I think... haha those silly Monks..... they did create great music and they wrote down alot of books and stuff we wouldn't have today having it been without them. The monks I know are very polite, simple. They don't party. They're vegetarian, and they're very strong. I never heard of monks partying before. This is my first time.

Transtic, please explain.
I dunno what Arikari means... The Japanese are religious people in a way. Some are Budhists, some are Shinto.... but thats not very prominant anymore. There's another... i can't remember. They can be very religious or not religious.... it really all depends on where you live, your family, etc.... the most important thing to Japanese is respect for the family. thats why their suicide rate is so high.... kids feel they have brought shame to their family with bad grades or anything really and thus kill themselves... it's rather sad. Shamans aren't like monks... Shamen use magic and religious spells to make things go their way or whatever. The actually deffinition is: "a priest or priestess who uses magic for the purpose of curing the sick, divining the hidden, and controlling events"... so yeah. The whole party thing with monks was more of back in the earlier times.
Justin
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve I dunno what Arikari means...
I believe he is referring to honorable suicide. Shaman's are Native American priests, better known as "Witch Doctors." They have no affiliation with any kind of monk I know and, in fact, some behave quite to the contrary of monks... -Justin

I tried looking up thr word "arikari" but didn't see anything of the sort... then I looked up honorable suicide, also found nothing too.... perhaps it's a saying and not actually a word... i dunno. velvet paws
yeah...i know it was all said and done before i got here, but back in the oldie days monks had beer (pretty sure it was beer) because i remember a histroy lesson some while ago in which we were told they used to give beer and food to some people..um..the poor or sommat....oh dammit im about as vaige (sp?) as everyone else. oh well...I still prefer just taking a friday night out and getting a drink to being a monk in the oldie days and have someone like Henry the 8th come and burn down my monistry and kill me :(
