I have no idea why I'm starting this thread, as I'm sure no one else but me has read this book, but I thought I would give it a shot.

It's a novel by Margaret Atwood and it takes place in the future, pretty much, where genetic engineering is used for just about everything. Basically it's narrated by a man who calls himself "Snowman," and he tells of his life, what happened that things are the way they are now, and where these so-called "Crakers" came from. Basically it's the end of the world and throughout the novel, we get to find out how.

It picks up pretty quickly and is very interesting, not to mention frightening for me, the Genetics major. In the beginning of the novel, one of the first things we're introduced to is the "pigoon," which is basically a pig that is genetically engineered to grow human organs for transplant. It may sound a bit farfetched, but scientists are actually working on this project today.

Has anyone else read this novel and would like to discuss different aspects of it?
