Guest Spike88
Well, everyone has that one CD in your collection and your not sure why it's there. Me I have one and that's 98 degrees and rising and I don't know what i was thinking when I bought it. At the time I was very into rock music like I am now but, one of my friends liked one of the songs off the CD so I bought it. My question to all of you is what is the CD you would hate for anyone to find out you have and why do you have it.

He got me this Aqua CD and he bought a Movie Themes CD for my brother. These CDs are now hidden at the back of my dad's huge collection of 'Golden Oldies' CD collection. My dad has really old tastes in music, in the car, he plays the song "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weeny Polka Dot Bikini". That is so embarassing.
Manic Webb
I bought a Ricky Martin CD. You know, the one with "Livin' La Vida Loca," "Shake Your Bon-Bon" and "Cup of Life." Don't look at me like that. You liked "Livin' La Vida Loca" too. Admit it. It was a very catchy song, and I loved singing along to the Spanish lyrics. Then I realized the rest of his songs were unnaturally boring. Yes, unnaturally. I've been trying to hide and get rid of that CD for years, but it seems to keep popping up all over my room. Under the bed, in my sock drawer, amongst my tiny videogame collection. I've been screening CDs before I buy them ever since.
DeadSeraphim
I have Avril Lavigne and Eiffel 65 in my collection... *hides* I think Eiffel 65 was the first album I ever bought, where as Avril Lavigne was a side-effect of clinical depression. It had to be. I also have a few regrettable 'rap' CDs I'd rather not mention in my collection, but mainly its all Grade A CrH Music. ~CrH~
Zen
I have a few CD's I rather not have simply because I grew out of them. Like "Smash Mouth", which I now hate for being so "kiddish" which was the main reason I liked the band in the first place. Also, I have a bunch of crappy songs on my old mix CD's and "The Love Below", which I actually like, but the color of the CD makes it look like I'm listening to the latest Britney Spears CD. Other than that, I'm proud of my collection, although that collection is very small. I spend most of my money on comics, clothes, and DVD's/Games. But lately, I've been buying CD's, so tons of embarrasment to come!
ChibiHorsewoman
Whoa, emberassing CDs? Oh man, you shouldn't have brought this up. Celine Dione Falling into you. I got it for my sixteenth birthday and haven't gotten a chance to get rid of it yet. I had all three of the BSB CDs before I moved to TX, but lack of money leads to boredum so my husband and I stuck them in the microwave for 3 seconds and threw them against the hall closet. Along with Nsync 98 degrees and an AOL cd rom. My best friend burned me an Enrique Iglesius CD and I think I might have that somewhere. Okay, now I have to go change my name and go into hiding somewhere far far away.
Ozymandius Jones
Well...my grandma got me Clay Aiken's cd. I used to like Clay when he was singing other people's stuff, but I don't like the songs on that cd. And he's not my style, either...people go thumbing through my cds going, "Loud, loud, loud, eh, what's he doing there? Ozy, isn't Clay too quiet for you?" dposse
Well, i have some really embarassing CDs. A few years ago i bought the Limp Bisket(i think that is how you spell it) CD. The first one that was popular. I forgot the name of it. The thing i didn't relize about the CD was that there was alot of swareing and things that shouldn't be repeated in public on it. I also have a Coolio tape. I know what you are thinking right now, but at the time Coolio was cool. And there are my sisters collection. My sister owns every CD of the Spice Girls. I never liked them. But, i guess that my sister did. The thing that really makes me mad is that after a year, my sister stopped listening to it. The CD and the tapes are sitting in a drawer and collecting dust. That is all the embarassing CDs that i can think of.
Guest Spike88
Just when I was sitting here thinking ohh great at least no one has the Spice Girls you had to mention them didn't ya. Semjaza
I'm not all that embarrassed to say that I like some Back Street Boys songs. I mean, it's certainly out of my character, but some of them are just well done. Same with Justin Timberlake and Nick Carter's solo works. In terms of stuff I wish I never owned... I think there's just one. Alanis Morisette's Jagged Little Pill. I got that back when she was new just for the one hit single. I forget the name. I don't even have the CD anymore honestly. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought that. I still can't figure out how I thought it was even worth purchasing and I have no clue how she has managed to stay remotely relevent. The music isn't that hot and the many of the lyrics are next to meaningless considering she grew up as some rich girl in Canada. It makes half the stuff she says in her songs seem fabricated. Eh. Guest Naota
Dang, there are a ton of CDs I'd really wish I had never owned, but there is one that stands above all others. This CD I actually bought for one song on it, and I bought it only a few weeks ago. It was the CD Bananaphone by Raffi. The only song I listened to on it: Bananaphone. But owning the CD is a huge emmbarassment to me. All the other songs on it are very....well.....lame, for lack of a better word. That CD was one I could've done without. oshi
I like the Spice Girls . . . . *hide* My mom orders CD's from those buy-four-get-some-free-but-not-really magazines, so for a while I actually had one of The Calling's CD's in my possession. I only liked one song on it, which I now just can't listen to anymore, so that's gone. Shwoop! Out the window! And I have one Savage Garden CD, which I do like--and they used to be popular, too. It's just not particularly like me to own music like that, I guess. A friend and I Moon Tiara Magicked "The Craft" soundtrack against her living room wall. Then we played frisbee with her Ricky Martin one, and her Brittany Spears one. (I honestly don't know why she had these.) We later regretted destroying the Craft soundtrack (the only good thing about that movie at all), and she bought it again at a used CD store. Go figure. Guest Spike88
Oshi I'm sorry but if I had just annouced that I liked the Spice GIrls in public I would have to get a new name and move far far away. I'm just kidding anyways I don't really hate them all that much I was just punished with repetitive listening by my sisters and well I'm a guy so you know anyways thanx for sharing everyone keep them coming I know a few of you out there are just not going to come forword and admit it but it's ok we all have things that haunt our past
The_Ghost
Well, lets see here...My most embarassing CD's? Well, lets say My wide variety of Country music and Christian pop crap. Every year I ask my grandparents for a rock CD. Every year they pick out their favorite christian pop band and give that CD to me instead. I hate all of them. My mom contributed most of the country music, because she thought I liked it. And the sad part is, I don't even remember any of the names of the CD's! Like Chibi, my lack of money lead to boredom, which in my case included a shotgun and an odd assortment of sledgehammers. :D The only other CD's in my collection I hate would probably be my BSB and N*Sync CD's. Then again, I have to give them some credit, because they were my first musical obession. I was always pulling apart the music to find the harmonies and stuff...maybe that's why I haven't had the heart to toss them out yet.
TheShinje
Perhaps then, Ghost, it isn't such a bright idea to ask your grandparents for rock CD's. As far as embarrasing CDS go, I've only got a few, one of them is a Playstation 1 game, it was actually bought for my sister so that she could have something to play on the PS1, Spice World, the worst..... game....ever :twitch: Others include such forgettables as the "Deepest Bluest" single by LL Cool J, boy did that song age terribly, and it's not very good either. and Aqua's CD, I really enjoyed the techno rhythm when it first came out, but now I think of it as trashy, forgettable junk. Don't get me started on the Hanson album I found, er.... *runs away* I'm going to need a whole lotta therapy when this is over, look at my eye twitching :twitch:
Amorphous
Embarassing CDs that I Own... well I really have to say that all of my collection it would have to be "Uncle Kracker". I have no idea what I Was thinking when I bought that CD, it just isn't something I like to listen to and is just.. not eve that good of a cd. As for other CD's though that embarrass me a little, I guess owning 2 blink 182 cds does and these contemplation mix Cds that are of the best music in mainstream for a certain year. Those just neh, I don't know what I was thinking for the most part. Though some of the songs were pretty good on them and the great thing is none of the songs were pop on those CDs. I guess at one time I was embarrassed that I listened to Our Lady Peace. But that's when I was way younger and didn't know any better or at least realize all the differences in reality of high school. Now I just don't care what people say about Our Lady Peace, they just are a great band. But as far as my CD collection goes. I went from Country, to Mainstream, to Punk, to Alternative Rock, To rock in general, to Industrial Rock, to Black Metal and Power and Progressive Metal and Doom-Metal and then to "Goth" rock which is The Cure and Souixsie and the Banshees (Both awesome, awesome bands) What I still currently listen to is. Rock, Industrial Rock, Alternative Rock, Progressive, power, doom and black metal, Country and Goth Rock. So all in all I'm not embarrassed too much to what I listen to. Oh there is one other Cd I really don't like and that is the Korns CD the "Untouchables" just a horrible and basically embarrassing CD to own. Though all there older CD's make up for it. Panda
You guys are all so young! Now I have a collection of bad cassette tapes and some vinyl!! But since this topic is just on cds..I will stick to just that format. ^_^ The most embarassing cd in my collection would have to be Michael Bolton's "Time, Love and Tenderness" CD. I think that is what it was called. I am not even sure if I still have that thing! Pretty much the only people who might listen to his music are 50 year old housewives. It is "adult contemporary" almost to the point of "easy listening". I am not sure why I had it or how it ended up in my collection, but I do admit to listening to it. How embarassing....
Guest Spike88
Panda I'm sorry I narrowed it down so much for ya. You could have went with some cassettes also. Oh speaking of which I think I've got one of the Ace of Base cassettes. **Runs away and ducks down** Anyways I found this CD MaxSOnic let me listen to and I borrowed it but it has this really weird rap song on it about the original super mario brother game. Anyways MaxSonic I've seen your collection and you need to get on here and reply I'd be embarassed of a few of those CDs you own anyways. Keep them coming even though I'm starting to get very scared. ChibiHorsewoman
You guys are all so young! Now I have a collection of bad cassette tapes and some vinyl!! How embarassing....
Hey, Panda. I have the four vinyl set of Elton John's Good Bye Yellow Brick Road. So how's that for old and embarassing? I also have this crap load of Swing albums courtesy of my dead father-in-law. And maybe some emberassing country records. As for embarassing tapes-Cristopher Cross and Chicago. No, not the broadway musical Chicago-I mean the group Chicago. I think my most embarassing CD that I own and listen to is a collection of funny Christmas songs including all 3 of Adam Sandler's Hanuka songs and walkin' 'round in women's underwear. I listen to it on and off through out the year. Not just christmas time. I made the CD by the way

Guest Atticus
To tell the truth most of my cd's aren't embarassing.. Most of them, since I bought them myself, are suited to my taste. Though everyone has bad judgement at some time or another. So the most embarassing CD in my collection would definately have to be Good Charlotte "The Young and the Hopeless..." Yeah most wouldn't say that's embarassing but I totally think this band is overrated. Yeah, well many bands are this one is just lucky enough to be 'famous.' I don't want to go through my CD's any longer. I've been looking and other than that the only other CD that's just a bit embarassing has got to be the one of my own band... Embarassing in the sense that it's nothing I don't hear about two hours every day in practice anyways... -.-
