Muad'Dib
OOC: OK everyone, as you know, there is a conspiracy going on. For now, I want you all to just play out your characters (the line-up for the finals will be announced shortly). I will take the plot in the right direction very soon after the fights start. Good day, and have fun! (oh, and remember, outside of the arena they are mostly normal people... except for the extra publicity) ~~~ It was Friday, second week in May. The finals for the Game start tomorrow. Fans across the world flock to America to see the sparks fly in the Grand Arena, where all of the last fights will be held. Everything's going smoothly, and this year promises to be an explosion. Micheal walks down a half empty street in the dwindling light. It was better to walk during the night, when no one was around to say "Hey! You're that fighter!" The air was refreshing, despite the pollutants pouring into it from almost every building in the city. Micheal breathed deep. Tomorrow, he doubted there would be any time for strolling. OOC: OK guys, have at it. And remember, you are allowed to have contact with other players outside of the arena. There are no regulations about that kind of thing.
Skye
Willow walked down the deserted street, hugging her jacket tight about her. The wind had picked up, and her dark chestnut hair whipped about her face. Damn... storm coming. She heard someone coming, and ducked behind a trashcan. A couple seconds later, a figure emerged - she let out a sigh of relief. Not another fan. She stepped out of her hiding spot, and said, in an almost inaudible voice, "Hello, Michael." He turned abruptly, then seemed to relax slightly. "Willow. What are you doing-?" A smirk with not laughter in it tugged her lips. "The same thing you are, if my guess is correct. Hiding from fans."
Muad'Dib
Micheal gave her one of his innocent, irresistable smiles, though they didn't seem to affect her. "Yeah... with the finals coming up, it's non-stop." He remembered her in her virtual form and smiled a little more. The VCA contesants were getting creative lately. They were both living proof of that. "Have you seen any of the others?" "Are you kidding?" Willow said, "They're all out practicing or plotting our deaths." there was a slight pause. "Speaking of witch, we should be doing the same." Micheal sighed. "Oh, but it's such a nice night..." He started walking again, and Willow followed a little behind. "I can't wait to face Orion!" "What makes you think you'll get that far? You might have to go through me first!" They both snickered a little. In the arena, you had to be ruthless, no matter how good friends you were. This could be hard, because all though the physicle damage wasn't real, the pain was.
Onix
Zeos stealthily, in full disguise, entered the independent arena. He scanned the crowd and saw a few small-time players and fans of VCA. They would make excellent warm-ups. He moved over to the door where a battle was taking place. It was a smaller battle arena, not the large one he would be fighting in. A large mech-looking cyborg was thrashing a young bare-knuckle brawler. The mech was easily overpowering the brawler. The mech slammed its massive hand into the brawler's gut, then finished the smaller fighting with a wrist-mounted beam cannon that ripped through the human's body. The doors leading to the VR loading bays. opened, and two kids stepped out. A smaller kid, kind of looking like a younger, weaker version of the brawler, was shaking. A larger, slightly older kid was smirking. "Who else wants to fight the Death-Mech?" he asked, his voice low and grating. Zeos had to take him out. "I will, Death-Mech," he said, making his move. Zeos walked into the loading bay. The LED screen flashed "Zeos Uchiyama--loading Night Fire". His VCA shield surrounded him, and he entered the arena, opposite Death-Mech. "It's been a while. Too long. I fear I might be rusty," he said, his voice with a metallic echo. The Death-Mech appeared, and it let out the closet thing to a gasp. "You...you're Zeos the Night Fire!" he gasped. "I am. And the way your over-matched that brawler was unacceptable. If this was a true tournament match, I would chock that up to him being a weaker player, but you obviously had greater experience and a much more dangerous VCA fighter. Thus, I shall have to knock you out." With that, Zeos rushed the Death-Mech. He pistoned his arm forward, the energy blade materializing, and it cut through the Mech's chassis. Zeos drew back his arm, spun, and kicked the Mech's "head." Finishing the spin, Zeos ejected his other blade and cut through the metal fighter, defeating it. "Winner, Zeos the Night Fire," said the digitized announcer. Zeos grinned as he returned to the real world. He left the pod room and confronted the Death-Mech pilot. He grabbed the younger kid by the front of his shirt and pulled him up close. "You wasted my time and my cover, you pitiful excuse for a fighter. I could probably drop you in the real world...but I won't, since I'm not some stupid bully who crushes n00bs. You're kind makes me sick," Zeos hissed, shoving the fighter to the ground. "Come back when you have skill, not just size." With that, Zeos left the crowd, knowing he wouldn't get another challange. He would just have to wait 'til tomorrow. OOC: There, I changed my post so that you're ideas are there. I think. Just let me know if I screwed up. But how's that for the first fight, eh? My guy proves why he's one of the top 20, and the youngest at that (I think.)
Muad'Dib
OOC: well, it's certainly good, but the real thing behind the VCA is that you're actualy yourself, and you really are out there fighting... but the VCA creates a solid image around you, so that you appear like... whatever it is. Each VCA unti has a seperate "Loading" area, where the image, witch is linked to the 'player's' physiology, is uploaded and applied. (my apologies for not explaining... I wasn't intending there to be any real fights until the finasl began) In any case, I also faield to mention that only errr... 'licensed' VCa contestants are allowed to use the public (er... not 'public' then are they...) arenas. Kids for instance, wouldn't be allowed to come near a VCA, unless it was owned by an independent company (witch it very well could be). As for the physics of the game, remember you can 'jump' and 'hover' for certain periods of times (depending on your skill) and there are no rael decapitaions. Though you can slice through someones arm, it would not actualy be removed, even if they felt the pain. Again, my apologies for not explaining this sooner. You did a good job with the pods Xion, but it was intended to e unique in teh fact that there are none.
Anne
Charisma laid on the parkk bench and looked up at the full moon. She thought about the fights that were gong to be coming tomorrow. Most players would be coming up with a brillant plan right now to defeat thier up coming match. Charisma always played her fights by ear, she was once taught by a great general who told her "The greatest plan always last until your oppanent makes the first move." He was a great men. Feeling the breeze, she knew there was going to be a storm and it was going to be coming tomorrow. That will be a great atmosphere for tomorrows fights. She gave a smile grin. Lazly she shifted to a more comfortable position. This place is much more relaxing than that crowdness of the arena area. She hated to be around to many people and all those fan bugging her. It didn't matter much, she had her eyes set on the prize and she will win. She promised herself that. Many of the other fighters have been making fun of her weapon, the quarterstaff. what they didn't relize it was made out of the strongest wood out there, she gave a small grin. No that was her little secret, not much would cut through that. Yawning she closed her eyes to get some sleep.
Muad'Dib
OOC: well, since nobody's posting, I'll start the fun part up... the fighting. ~~~ - Hello and welcome VCA fans, to the Grand Arena! The loudspeaker announcment was met with roars from the audience, witch numbered in the thousands. Outside, Micheal was stepping out of a black car, sent to his home to get him to the arena on time. No one was sure who would be fighting today, but all the top twenty fighters were required to arrive. Looking around, trying to ignore the mob, Micheal couldn't catch sight of any of the other fighters. They were probably being dropped off at the opposite end. The arena was massive, able to seat thousands of loyal VCA fans. ____ Micheal stood in the back, waiting for the impending announcment. At last, the speakers came on again... "Now, the moment you've all been waiting for... todays fighters are..." there was an unbarable pause, "Grinder!" The crowd cheered, "Azarus!" Micheal tenced up at the sound of his Arena name, "and Dred-Israfel!" That couldn't be right... he had said three names. The roaring fans went through a moment of confusion. "That's right fans! This years final will be played out in fights of three-man free for alls!" The crowd again began to cheer, and Micheal was nervous for the first time in his VCA fighting career. Nevertheless, he stepped into the 'suit-up' area in front of him and stood still as "Dendread Micheal L. - - Loading image 'Azarus'" flashed across a small screen. Five second later, his body was covered in the familiar outfit, and the reassuring weight of his blade came to his back. Azarus, no longer Micheal, stepped out into the arena, closely followed by Grinder and Dred-Israfel at opposite ends. A large 'fence' encircled the arena instantly. Even though VCA images would disappear if they left the arena, the fighters wouldn't. "BEGIN!" All three fighters launched themselves in separate directions. It was all a blur,m and Azarus found himself lookign down the barrel of Israfel's massive weapon. He MUST be good.... Azarus thought. He dodged at near-lightning speed before an enourmous shock wave blasted his former position. Irafel seemed... distracted. He suddenyl drifted to the middle of the arena, and stood stock-still. Both Grinder and Azarus froze, obviously confused as to his behavior. The arena floor began to glow, and Israfel was drowned out in electrical light. There was a loud noise, and Israfel was moving again. However, he didn't go for the other players... he went for the crowd. The fence suddenly burst open, and somehow, Israfel was outside of the arena, blasting away. Inside the announcement booth, employees were going crazy, trying to figure out what had just happened. The conspiracy begins.
Skye
Willow stood in the shadows of the arena's giant bleachers. She watched, and her brow scrunched up in confusion. She gasped when Israfel broke from the arena. She ran towards him, not away, as th ecrowd was so obviously doing. She yelled up to the other dumbfounded fighters, "Stop him!" The girl was making her way thoruhg the screaming people. She growled, her eyes flashing. Willow launched herself into the air, and yelled. Israfel's attention went to her. His eyes narrowed. She attempted tackling him - which didn't really work. He was a sturdy guy. She gritted her tteth as he flung her away, and she crashed into a wall. Willow picked herself up, and ran for a suit up area. She suited up, and stepped forward. She dulled the crowds noise, then bit her lip. I hate to do this... she thought. Then she concentrated. Willow's mind projected a high-pitched sound into Israfel's mind.
Muad'Dib
Israfel tensed up, almost dropping his weapon. But he was a legend... this trick wouldn't hold him back for long. "Do something!" Whisper yelled to the others. Azarus yelled back, "What are we supposed to do?! He's outside the arena! We can't go there!" Whisper looked frustrated, and Israfel took off, even without the low-grav settings of the arena to hold him aloft. The others and all the thousands of fans stood in shock as Israfel blasted through the arena wall and took off into the streets. Outside, Israfel almost isntantly disappeared into a back-ally, not to be seen again tht day. Back in the stadium, Azarus and Whisper went back into a suit-up area and the VCA removed the fighting images. Micheal stepped down from the small platform and grabbed his shirt (he had removed it so it wouldn't get in the way of the VCA image). "What the hell just happened?" But the employees didn't have an answer.
Anne
Charisma was watching the fight and analzing the players. When she heard screams and shouts. The fencig clasped adn noticed Israfel coming into the crowd. One of the other fightings was hurdling towards him but got thrown against the wall. Running down to the suit up area she noticed other fighting readying to get into the fight. Damn that not going to work, fighting him head on. She ran down to where he had suited up. If she found the programing for his image than he wouldn't be as strong. Findig the loading section for Israfel and pulled some wires. The screen flickered on and off and the imaging programming flickered. Reciving a jolt from the wires she got thrown back a bit. "Wow did those pack a kick." With that Israfel reverted back to oringal form. "Thier are plenty of fighter to stop him now." Brushing her hair out of her eyes she walked out of the "suit up" area.
