Annie
"Nnnnaaaaaaaahhhh!!!" "Azrael!!" -Ann's blood-curtling scream, Alexandria's frightening cry, both snapped Azrael out of his complex concentration. He nearly fell from his hover seeing Ann as she was- "..No.t.....th.ere...p-pl..ease.." "Ann, Ann! Calm yourself, child. You are not dead, you're not going to die. Please, Angel, do not fight it. You are only making it worse." -Azrael brushed sweaty strands of hair from Ann's paling, clamy face. Her tears ran red. Azrael was truely scared for her. He had never seen this happen to an Angel. Even with all of the terrible things that he had witnessed and partook in, never this. He looked up at Alexandria who was now in tears- "What's happening to her?" "She's rejecting her transformation. She's scared." "We have to get her to Heaven, Azrael..or she will.." "No, this is something we nor Heaven can help. She's got to break through this on her own free will. However, we do need to get to Heaven. You go ahead with her. Go, find Raphael, Arc Angel of Healing. He should be able to help a little bit." "What about you?" -The warm breeze tossed Alexandria's hair across her pleading face. Her lips trembled in fear. Azrael smiled and ran a finger down her tear-stricken cheek. He looked down at Ann who seemed to be as an old flower, wilting and discolored- "Do not worry about me, be sure this Angel lives...It is strange, I've lived to kill. Yet, I wish for her to live. Please, Alexandria, give her life. I know your true feelings for her. She needs you, you need her. Go." -Alexandria's tears glittered in the wind. Azrael turned and took to the wind, soaring majestically towards him. Azrael knew that he had something to do with that sickening feeling that grew in the pit of his stomach. And perhaps some of Ann's pain. The figure stood, unwavered and expectantly. One word silently slipped over Azrael's lips. One word that lingered in the decaying air. One word that possessed fear from those who knew of it. One word.- "Mordecry."
Kwai
A figure, which he assumed to be Azrael, flew towards him through the night sky, bringing with it a lingering trace of angelic stench that grew by the second, giving him a disgusted feeling. At the same time, however, there was another stench, or rather a scent... the scent that he carried with himself, the scent of his own blood. Mordecry took a slow rattling breath, taking in the smell of the corrupt blood. "Mordecry." The figure addressed him with a hint of desperation in his voice. It was a voice he remembered, a voice he despised. But as customary, Mordecry kept silent for a good few moments. He was enjoying the slow leeching of blood the seven hundred corpses below was providing him, and he was in no hurry at all to begin a battle. He let his eyes graze over the dark skies lazily, then slowly fixed his eyes on Azrael. He gazed upon the once mighty angel for a brief moment, then laughed mockingly. "How now... the once great Azrael... fallen so low and corrupted by the hands of mankind..." Mordecry took another rattling breath of air to take in the stench. "You have my blood now as well... I cannot have my blood lingering about some pathetic creature as you..." Mordecry laughed lightly again, then outstretched his hands. His human nails suddenly grew sharp and demonic, menacing in every aspect. "I will take back what's mine. Prepare yourself."

"Come now Lenfear, I know you like tricks and messing with people minds but that its just bad for you." Steff.. scream and pionted. "What know!" Kiros looked up into the choas that used to the sky. "Damn the gate but who would use it." A figure come out of the gates and gave out a rooar. Lenfear gasped a name came from her lips, "Mordecry." "What is he doing here?" "I have no idea, Kiros. But i think you should get your little friend out of here. I know i'm going to spilt." Two figures also now became visable on the horizen. She knew who the must be Azreal and Alexandria. Annie
"I will take back what's mine. Prepare yourself." "Will you now?" -Mordecry growled lightly, never blinking. Azrael readied himself, he knew Mordecry wouldn't falter. He was here for one purpose, and one purpose only. He wouldn't leave until he claimed his prey. It was the only way Mordecry knew how to live. Azrael admired him for that, but was not going to allow Mordecry the opportunity. With Alexandria and Ann away from the scene, there were no distractions- "I will inform you now, my powers have drasticaly improved since our last meeting." "I'm well aware of that, Mordecry. In result, so have mine." -Mordecry's aura pulsed in fury. It was because of his blood that gave way to Azrael's improvement- "However, I cannot perform any of your attacks, so fear not." "That's the best news I've heard all millenia." "Absolutely, I even tried." "Heh, then my blood is worthless for you. Give it back." "If you can take it, you shall get it back." -The two glared at one another. Azrael lay his hand on the hilt of his sword, his wings began to twitch and spark. Mordecry tilted his head slightly, showing Azrael what he thought- "Yes, you are correct." "What's that?" "I know what you are thinking. And it is pathetic." "A wingless angel." "That will change."
Revelation
The ear-splitting screams that hung in the air travelled along with Alexandria as she flew towards the sky with her skeletal wings, that split against the calm sky. She was close to Heaven, she could almost feel its warm, bright light. She was close, when a feeling came over her. An angel followed her. A name came across her mind. "Lenfear." Growling, Alexandria ignored the Angel and flew towards the Heaven. This unwanting feeling of majesty and royalty was becoming wilted and withered as Ann still rejected, still negating this fiery pain that lingered within her. Her once pure, snow-white wings were now stained in blood, cold, red human blood. Her body was becoming soaked in her own blood. Even Alexandria was becoming drenched in Ann's human blood, as she still pained against the rejection. Heaven was near and the two entered. A heavenly light spilled against Alexandrian, who whinced against it. Ann shivered as she clung onto Alexandria. Scared and frightened, Alexandria slowly landed among the clouds. Warmth took her feet and she was once again in the hands of Heaven, the Heaven that God forbid her to enter once again. Alexandria growled and lifted her feet once again, as she took flight towards the Golden Gates of Judgement, where the Arc Angel of Judgement, Michael stood by. Michael had seen the demon and stood in between her and Gates. Alexandria stood before him, her growls lingering in her throat. They subsided as Ann began to choke. She looked down to the Angel and quieted her. She then looked to Michael. "Alexandria, Demonic Sorceress, thou hast been exiled to thine imprisonment! Who gives say to thy return?" One name came across her once more and one name gently slipped past her lips. "Azrael, Arc Angel of Death." "Az...Azrael? That is impossible! The Heavenly Father hath banishèd him as well. He is not to return to Heaven, nor are you. Leave now and never return, creature of Hell!" "Creature...of HELL?! Arc Angel of Judgement, turn to me and tell me again!" Michael turned to Alexandria once more and had a scolding look upon his face. "Did you tell me I am a creature of HELL?! WHO ARE YOU TO SAY I AM FROM THE DEPTHS OF LUCIFER'S HOME?! WHO ARE YOU TO SAY I MUST LEAVE WHEN A POOR CHILD, THIS POOR CHILD IS REJECTING HER TRUE FORM?!" "Demon, thou art not welcome to Heaven. Leave..." His words were cut off when an Arc Angel had appeared behind the gates, the two looked to the Arc Angel. "Raphael!" "Yes, 'tis I. Now, what seems to trouble the two? What's this, what's this? Michael! Open the gates at once!" The Arc Angel of Judgement hurried to the Gates and had opened them. Raphael flew with ease and speed towards Alexandria and the bloodstained child. "O Lord of all Angels. How long has this been going on for, Alexandria?" "It..." Alexandria caught her breath and began to adjust to the clarified air. "It began when Azrael and I were coming to Heaven. I came alone for the reason that Mordecry had shown himself and Azrael had gone to deal with the demon himself. Raphael...will this child die?" "I...I am not sure. Come, come. We must hurry her to my place in Heaven. Come." Raphael turned his back and with gentle grace, his wings took flight. Alexandria followed suit. "Michael, open the gates to only Azrael, to the true Azrael." Ann began to shiver with greater force. She began to cough and choke as Alexandria took her into Heaven. Raphael flew and flew, Alexandria did as well. Her skeletal wings were being weighed down by the purity that stood still in the air. Her breaths became raspy and her armor began to tighten against her body. She was not used to the pure air that filtered Heaven, yet she ignored her pain and knew that Ann would not live unless Raphael would help. Alexandria was determined to let the child live and gain her wings. She wanted to claim the child as her own, if the small angel did fall from God's side. She wanted to raise the child as her own and call her, her daughter.
Cyriel
The clean purity of the air did not comfort Ann, nor did the bright, gentle warmth that radiated everywhere. Only Alexandria's arms kept Ann from screaming again, but she held on tightly, her fingers locked around Alexandria's form. She passed out briefly during the flight, coming to only as they passed through the glowing gates. Ann's eyes opened slowly, hazy from pain, and she locked eyes briefly with one of the forms that stood there, surrounded by a stunning aura. Alexandria spoke to him, "Michael, open the gates to only Azrael, to the true Azrael." Taking wing after Raphael, she didn't notice Michael's wide eyes as he locked gazes with Ann. Closing her eyes again, Ann clenched her teeth as she tried to suppress the pain. It seared in her blood, making her head throb with each beat of her heart, each pulse of her blood. Human blood. And it was falling...much too quickly. Other Angels gathered, drawn by the cadence of pain that reverberated around the two bloodied beings. Drawn by the familiar bittersweet taste of a new Angel taking wing, but their faces contorted into shock when they saw the blood. The blood, the girl, the demon. All following Raphael, Arc Angel of Healing. The place they entered was nondescript, seemingly not even there. As all things were in Heaven, it was in perfect harmony; it was there to knowledge, but at the same time misty, flowing in and out of the surroundings. Raphael held out his arms, but Alexandria drew back, tightening her grip on her precious burden. Her eyes flashed in warning. Raphael bit his lip, and then nodded, "As you will. But please, if I am to help her, I must be able to see her." Alexandria's hands loosened, and then gently laid out Ann on the waiting bed, white flowing sheets already spattered with the human blood that fell. Ann clung, desperately keeping Alexandria's hand locked firmly in her own. Alexandria brushed her hand over the girl's hair, gently shushing her, "Ann, darling, it's alright... Everything will be fine, but don't fight it, don't make it worse." Tears ran anew from both of them, but Ann's left crimson streaks on her pale face. She whispered desperately, her eyes wide open in fear, "Don't - leave. Don't...leave..me.. N-not..h..ere!" "Shush, I'm not leaving... We're going to help you, alright darling? Don't cry...I'm right here, and I won't leave. Don't worry, please..." Alexandria crooned softly, wiping away the bloody tears that stained Ann's face. They frightened her, and the reminder of death was not welcome. Raphael knelt next to Ann's curled form, and his hands hovered over her ripped shoulders, the skin shredded by the wingtips that had protruded. Blood flowed fresh, soaking the white sheets, as well as old blood that blackened and thickened on the ragged feathers. His breath hissed, let out slowly as he took in the damage done. Alexandria's eyes lingered on his face, and she saw the look in his green eyes. Her expression darkened, "Don't say it. She will live. She will live, or Heaven will not be stained by only her blood." Raphael met her eyes, and then closed his eyes briefly. "I...cannot heal her. I'm sure that Azrael explained that to you. But...I can try to coax her to...accept the transformation more willingly. However, at this point, it may not save her...and only she, in the end, can make the choice -" "Do it." Alexandria's voice was flat, drawn taut; a warning. He nodded, "I will. But to do so, you cannot be touching her." "I'm not leaving." "You do not have to. But you cannot be touching her." His green eyes gazed solemnly at her, peacefully as she struggled with the choice. But in the end, there was not a choice to make - she wanted the girl to live. Gently, Alexandria tried to pry herself from Ann's grasp. Ann's breathing became harsher, as she struggled to keep her hold on the demon's hand, "...d.on't..leave!" "Shush, I'm not leaving darling, I'll be right here...but you have to let go of me. I promise, I'm not leaving." Finally, the girl's hands fell away, and Alexandria quickly stood so that she could not be in reach again. Ann's tears of blood started to fall again, and she blatantly reached for Alexandria, her hands clawing out to find comfort. But Raphael gently knelt in front of her, hiding Alexandria from Ann's view, taking the girl's hands in his own. He closed his eyes; Ann froze, and then, as if drowzy, her eyes closed of their own accord. Alexandria watched.
Skye
OOC: Steff? An Unawakened Angel? Did Annie say something I missed? 0.o IC: Steff's eyes were wide with horror and surpressed fear. She watched Lenfear fly off, and glanced back up at the sky. Her ocean-blue eyes widened, and she stumbled backwards. Kiros cursed. Kiros yelled at her again. "Steff, get back inside before I make you!" Steff didn't hesitate this time. She turned, and darted up the stairs. Kiros was on her heels. She shut the door, and locked it. They made it to the living room where Steffanie promptley cllapsed into a fit of shakes on the couch. Kiros was watching out the front window, eyes wary. Steff looked out the window, also, and looked up - into the skies. She saw firgures. One was disappearing. Two raged above their street. "Kiros, who are they?" She turned to him, eyes locked with his. She whispered, "And who are you?"
Cyriel
OOC: ...hope I'm not posting too much...I'll tone it down I guess. IC: Minutes passed, and Alexandria could immediately see the calming effect that Raphael had over Ann. The girl's breathing was already growing slower, not so ragged. Her own breath was not the same, and she had to struggle not to cough. This pure air...was getting to be a problem. Suddenly, Raphael stiffened, and sweat broke his clear complexion. Eyes squeezed tightly, he seemed to be murmuring to Ann, and it did not seem to be going well. Alexandria braced herself, ready to rip the two apart if needs be. There was no way that she would allow anyone to hurt the girl. But she didn't need to break their contact; Raphael ripped his hands away by himself, and Ann reeled backwards, crying in pain as new convulsions took her body. Alexandria was already in motion, her hand at the Arc Angel's neck before he could take another step, "What happened? What did you do??" Raphael pushed her hand away, staggering backwards as he gasped. His eyes looked haunted, and he shook his head, "I...tried to convince her to..." He didn't finish the sentence; Alexandria could see his handiwork for herself. Blood splashed on the sheets, fresh as new feathers broke out. Ann started to scream, and ripping sounds were heard; bones covered in pure white feathers forced themselves further out of her shoulders, blood flowing with it. Ann crawled off the soaked bed, crawling desperately away from Raphael, blood smearing in her path. She was still screaming, a high keening broken only by sobs, "No! Get away from me! Alexandria...don't leave - you promised! Nnaaaahh!!!" More flesh fell away in raw pieces, and bones pierced her skin. Alexandria rushed to her side, but was unable to get close; the girl was thrashing at everything, pain making her vision blind. Even the demon had to gasp at the sight. Ann clawed at the spotless walls, leaving the scarlet handprints everywhere. Suddenly, with a sick, ripping sound, wings erupted from the fleshy shoulders. They were...beautiful, white, flowing, even spotted as they were with blood, skin, and gore. They thrashed against the walls, spraying more blood everywhere. The ground was slick with it, and Ann was pale, her pupils widening until her eyes looked like deep pits. The demon hardly breathed as she watched, "...is...is she..?" Raphael glanced out the window, worried, and then shook his head, "No, she's not transformed. She's still human. But with wings. She'll die within the hour; too much blood is gone from her body." Alexandria's gaze narrowed; something was not right... "What do you mean, she'll die? Did I not make it clear?? Save her. Now." The Arc Angel looked at Ann again, who was still moaning on the floor, smeared in blood as it kept flowing from her broken body. The wings seemed...out of place. His voice came slowly, quietly, as if he didn't wish others to hear, "...I...can't save her. And she's no longer in control of her blood. She will die, unless she gets blood." "I'll give her blood!" Alexandria cut her arm, but Raphael grasped her wrist with his own. His gaze was wild, scared, "No! Don't! You don't understand! The only blood that can save her is the blood that awakened her. She has blood on her hands. It marked her." He glanced out the window again. Alexandria's second clue; her eyes narrowed, and Raphael looked worriedly from her to Ann. Her voice was quiet, deadly, "...traitor. Don't come near us." She walked to Ann's side, quickly taking the now still girl in her arms. The blood was warm, the feathers clean, the body broken and silent. Raphael knelt, his voice breaking, "...stop. You can't save her. Don't you see? Her birth is forbidden! I cannot save her...because God has called for her death. Please, don't fight the will of Heaven..." She looked down at him, contempt covering her face, "Coward and traitor both. Don't come near us. I'll spare you, because you have told me how to save her. But let anyone else come in my way, and I will not hesitate. Understood?" Raphael didn't answer; instead, another voice rang out in the eerie stillness, "So, Alexandria, will you slay us for the sake of the half-breed?" It was Michael. Others stood with him, their gazes as cold and determined as his. "Surrender her to us, demon; there is no other way for you to pass out of the gates of Heaven alive." Tears forming in her eyes. She clasped her hands together and prayed. "Oh please God! Don't let me die!" "God?" Kiros walked over to the couched and pushed it aside. "You pray to GOD?" Revelation
A dozen or so angels stood behind Michael, ready to fight against Alexandria, if she would not surrender. Do you not know? The imprisonment that God and Lucifer bestowed upon me has given me so much time to perfect myself. You see...I cannot die. I will not die. Revelation
Michael and the other angels looked to the large demonic creature in fear. Raphael only looked on in amazement. Alexandria, who was now the dark creature, Anastasius, boomed a great laughter of evil. Michael held onto his sword, which was now blazing with fire. He narrowed his eyes as he studied the great dragonic demon. The other angels held onto their weapons and was ready for battle. "Arc Angel Michael, Angel of Judgement, Arc Angel of Protection, Courage, Strength, Truth, and Integrity. Do you not see that you cannot judge me for who I am? Can you not see that you cannot be the patron of truth and courage? Are you blind to see that I, Anastasius the Great Dragon of Demons, cannot be defeated? Perhaps you cannot see, perhaps you do not know, perhaps...you are blind." A great roar came from Anastasius, but was silenced when the appearance of Azrael appeared. A lingering growl stuck in her throat as she gazed upon the Arc Angel of Death. Ann's quiet whimpers of pain were slowly fading into the still air. The Angels looked to Azrael as well. In this time of distraction, Michael looked to Azrael then to Anastasius and with a shouting warcry, he picked up his feet and flew towards Anastasius. Once near, he slashed at her shoulder, but was penetrated. He flew back. Anastasius' eyes were no longer that of a demon's, nor was it from Heaven or Hell or Earth. She was now truly the Great Dragon of Demons. Her only speech came from her mind, which was crisp and clear. She was truly a demonic creature sent from...wherever to defeat all those who stood in her way. Azrael was marveling at this figure, he had not seen in such a long period of time. He knew the only way to control this creature was gain its trust...and not many have succeeded in doing so. Anastasius was a creature greatly feared throughout the lands, greatly feared in Heaven and Hell, and greatly feared by even God himself, so it was said. Michael began to stand as Azrael slowly drifted along the clouds towards Michael. He stood next to the flustered angel. A chuckle arose in him. Michael turned his gaze upon him, now. "Does something amuse the Great Azrael? Doet thou thinkest that this creature of...nowhere cannot be defeated?" Azrael still chuckled. "Michael, my dear Michael...why do you speak in Old English? This is near the next millenia and yet, you speak as though you still live in the medieval ages. Tsk, tsk. And to your questions, my answer is...yes. Anastasius is a great creature created by God in Heaven to help guard the entrance to Heaven from the minions of Hell, yet...she could not be controlled. Why? I will not tell. She was then cast down to Hell and Lucifer used her to bring her to Heaven, yet...she could not be controlled by Lucifer as well. She was then cast out of Hell and Heaven and brought to her crystalline imprisonment, where she could do no damage to anyone. It was your God and the Fallen Lucifer who had made a mistake of imprisoning this...beautiful, untamed creature. It was they who knew not on how to control such a weapon as this. And now...you all shall pay the price." Azrael flew and sat atop Anastasius' head. Her eyes looked up to him, they turned back to the angels. "Anastasius, attack!" Anastasius roared and looked to the angels, picking out the weakest. She then took a step forward, but then leaned on her right hand and growled. She leaned her head back and spit a black acid behind Michael. The angels could not move in time. The acid burned them to their holy skins. Azrael sat upon Anastasius' head while chuckling as Anastasius stood once more. "And so it begins."

Steff put her hands over her mouth as if she didn't mean for that to come out. Kiros turned his head. "I'm looking for someone..." "Who?" Steff removed her hands and a grinned crossed her face. "Would it be a mistress you imght be looking for?" Kiros smiled and laughed, he then stopped and turned his head so he wasn't looking at Steff. "I'm... Looking for an angel." "An angel...? But aren't... Angels and Demons against each other?" A confused look came across. Kiros turned his head and looked at her. He smiled. "Not this Demon... This Demon once sided with Angels." "But..How?" "It's a long story." He said quite solemnly. Kiros then grunted and dropped to his knees. "Agh.." "K-K-Kiros!" Steff took a few steps toward Kiros but kept her distance. "Kiros are you ok?" She stammered. Kiros fell to the ground, out cold. His body then faded away. "K-K-Kiros!" When Kiros awoke he found him self bound. His shirt still on. He then saw before him Lenfear and Lucifer. "What... What the hell?" "Yes Kiros your in Hell." Lucifer said smirking. Lenfear smirked along with him. "Why the hell am I tied up?" "Kiros, Kiros.. My poor, poor boy. Lenfear has told me all your intentions." Kiros narrowded his eyes toward Lenfear and gritted his teeth. He then tried to free himself from the steel chains trying to turn into his demon form. A jolt of pain then raged through Kiros body. Kiros screamed loudly in pain. "No use turning into your demon form... Kiros." Lucifer laughed. "Lenfear... Bring me the whip." Len fear walked not to far and came back with a whip. "Kiros, my boy. This shouldn't hurt. If your a real demon." Lucifer unwound the whip and walked behind Kiros and lashed at his back. "Agh!" Kiros let out screams of pain each time the twine of the whip hit his back, lashing through his shirt.
Skye
OOC: Damaly! No fair! ::cries:: Now what am I supposed to do? IC: Steff knelt next to him when he collapsed, and said again, ?K-kiros! Kiros, no!? She shook him gently, but all he did was flop in her arms like puddy. Sudden heat to her back made her turn with a gasp. She saw that girl ? Lenfear. And someone she knew could only be Lucifer. She looked up as he looked down. Their eyes met, and Steff had to jerk her eyes away. She could feel Lucifer smile. ?Well well well. Looks like Kiros found a friend.? Steff gritted her teeth. ?Lucifer. Satan.? He laughed, an evil laugh. ?Yes. And you, did I not hear you confirm that God hates you?? Steff kept silent, her face passive. Lucifer looked down at her. ?Move aside, girl.? Steffanie blinked. Then she shook her head. Lucifer looked angry. ?I said move aside!? Still the girl didn?t move. Lucifer?s hand came down across her cheek. She felt the shock, and she fell, turning as she did so. She landed, her arms braced, above Kiros. Lucifer smirked. ?Clever little girl, are we?? He snapped. Lenfear came over, and grabbed her by the collar. She pulled her to the floor, away from Kiros. His body faded away. Everything happened to quickly. Lucifer looked to the girl on the floor, and to Lenfear. The two disappeared. Long after they left, Steffanie lay on the floor, eyes wide, staring at the ceiling. Her breathing was heavy, her thoughts blurred ? Kiros? oh, Kiros?

Skye
OOC: Its okay, Damaly. ^.~ IC: Steffanie didn?t really see what happened next. She had been lying there for ten minutes when Lenfear came back. She was dragged to her feet, and suddenly she was ? somewhere. It was dark, but light like torches flickered in her eyes. She gasped as she saw Kiros. He lay bloody and broken on the floor. She jerked out of Lenfear?s arms, and knelt next to him. When she looked up, her eyes were filled with hate. ?What did you do to him?!? Lucifer seemed startled, but quickly regained his composure. ?I taught him who?s boss, little lady. And your next!? Before she could say a thing, he ha dlashed out the whip ? pain stung across her back, and she gasped. Lucifer laughed, Lenfear taking his arm. ?Well! It seems Kiros? little girl isn?t so tough!? He lashed out again, and she doubled over in pain. She had learned this lesson long ago, though ? never give your torturer satisfaction by showing your pain. She kept her face passive, though her eyes plainly showed her pain. But of course, he couldn?t see that. She was facing Kiros, face down. He lashed at her again, and she could feel the warm blood running down her back.

Annie
First of all, enough with the pointless "OOC" comments. The purpose of the "OOC" is to inform someone of something that has to be explained in greater detail...or take care of important matters. Second of all, I'm extremely happy with the way the story is going. I like how you all are posting, but there is one problem. Hatake, callmegoddess, and Kitty, I will ask you to make a point with your posting. Find some way to link your character's with mine, Cyriel's, and Arika's. The story is branching off and it's not making any sense. So find a way to get your characters into Heaven. I'm not sure as of now how to link your characters, but I'm sure you will all think of something. Have at it..

Cyriel
Warmth was fading...quickly. Surrounded by the encompassing darkness of approaching death, Ann was oblivious to the chaos erupting around her. Anastasius's roars fell on deaf ears; Ann was past the point where she could hear them, or anything else for that matter. Life was a slow dark thing, slowly slinking away in an effort to escape Ann's grasp. She reached for it, calling it back with a silent voice, unable to command it any longer. An impenetrable feeling of dread slowly came over her, as she watched her life struggle away from her desperate fingers, her stiffening body. But she stopped trying to hold it, when her eyes rested again on something in the distance. Her life was crawling towards it, trying to reach the figure. Ann willed herself with it, trying to see clearly... A flash, filled with fire, darkness, blood. Ann reeled back, and in Heaven her body fluttered, wings attempting to save her. But she fell back, darkness consuming her once more. But this time, she was not silent, screaming in a raw voice that no one could hear. No one...except that figure... The name ran like blood on her lips, and she tried to wipe it from her mind. But with every beat of her slowing heart, the name reverberated, echoing until it filled her mind... ...Mordecry...Mordecry....MORDECRY! Fire accompanied it, savage and vicious, licking at her life until Ann could only cry from pain and exhaustion. Until she could only wish for the sweet release that death seemed to offer at that point... But she fought. As Anastasius and Azrael fought in Heaven, so Ann fought in the quiet desert of her mind. Her soul. And she fought with another name... Azrael, she thought, and in it summoned every quiet strength that remained to her. Her palms were burning, but with a sweeter fire, a brighter light that fought off the dark, shadowy flames of the dank figure. It fought away the smell and scent of blood that shrouded him, the stench of death that was infused with his presence. And he slowly...drifted away. Disappeared. Tears of relief replaced the ones of pain on Ann's cheeks, and again, her breathing quieted...slowed... And behind the combined force of Anastasius and Azrael, an angel crept, green eyes lucid as they studied the broken human body, the bloodied wings. Raphael stared, still thinking of the brief contact he had had with Ann, but his eyes rose to meet another's - Michael's. And the Arc Angel nodded, a grim determination that followed the will of God. Only God. Raphael bowed his head in quiet consent; he knew that he could not disobey this command. Slowly, a sword of light came to his hand. His quiet flight led him towards Ann; he could already feel her approaching death - all he had to do was guarantee it.
