"He means alot to you, doesnt he?" Fayt said solemnly

"The world and more" Lana answered witha sigh.

"My mecha is a reflection of my soul....Confusing but beautiful, Dark but Innocent...." Fayt sorrowfully said.

Lana remained quiet as did Fayt, a silence from not knowing what to say.

"The prelude hasnt returned, yet" Fayt said curiously.

"Your right, I'm guessing that it one though" Lana added.

"It did unless the mech can fly its self without a pilot but I think yours is the only one that could do that" Fayt said remembering the last moment of the unfortunate singer.

"I see" said Lana.

"Well I think we shoud try to get some rest you never know what might happen" Faytsaid standing up off the bench.

Lana seemed to hesitate looking longly at Seiryuu. Fayt followed her eyes and gazed at Seiryuu.

"He'll be fine, I dont think anyone will mess with him we will proabably need every skilled pilot we have soon plus I think He'd want you to rest" Fayt said trying to reasure her.

As Zoltin guided the Prelude away from the island, he thought back to yesterday. How peaceful it had been, until Aaron went beserk.

"Peace my ***!" Zoltin yelled at no one in particular, his whole world had instead come crashing down around him and he was forced to pilot this pile of metal which he knew he would have to, but never against his friend, not like this.

The lights of a city along the coast line. It was a quaint, small city, more like a town than a city if anything. Approaching the town was the difficult part, especially if it was a major Instrumentalist stronghold, but since it looked peaceful enough, Zoltin decided to take the risk of landing Harmony. Since Harmony had no visible thrusters, and if there were any, they had stealth technology because landing Haromy was practically like a ninja apporaching its target from behind, very easy.

Again, being forcefully ejected from Harmony, Zoltin found himself standing in the woods where he had landed, the wings now folded over Harmony's face and the red orbs of the visor were visible, but the entire face was not. Turning away, he headed into the town.

The town was far from quaint, it was a pit of squalor, filth, prostitution, crime, greed, everything that Singers despised and worked towards eradicating. Every single building was a disgusting color and the lower levels were just disgusting.

Soon enough, Zoltin found himself in a sort of square part of the town. Though it was a sadistic part of the town. The filth seemed even worse and the people were indecently exposing themselves right there in public, one particular example was a man having oral intercourse with a prostitute. His gag reflexs kicking in, Zoltin ran away from the square and soon found himself in an alley, there a young child who was selling roses walked up to him and held one out. Her platinum blonde hair and grey eyes locked onto Zoltin, and suddenly he forgot all about how horrible this place was.

"Would you like a flower?" Zoltin pulled out a dollar and handed it to the girl who greatfully accepted it, but was grabbed from behind by a rather drunk man. She squealed and Zoltin glared at the man.

"Let her go or I'll kill you right now."

"Aww come on man, she's so cute.." Zoltin instantly grabbed the pistol that had been strapped to his uniform belt and pointed it right at the man's leg and fired. The man fell like a piece of meat and released the girl. She ran behind Zoltin and he ushered her to the woods where he put her right in front of the Prelude and he climbed in.

As soon as he was in, he placed his hand in front of the girl and she climbed into it, when she had finally settled down a ball of light formed around her and Zoltin took off towards the next closest city where she would be safe.

Once that was all said and done, Zoltin once again took to the sky and finally decided to head back to the singer's area, where at least he would see some friendly faces.

Jing Li was in a daze, thinking of Eloquent Serenade. Whenever near it, an atmosphere of solitude and determination. However, she was also timid, drifting into her own world of curiousity and inquiries. "I don't remember this mecha from before," she thought. "So how do I know the...reminisence code?" Her mind was then set upon the note she had torn off the leg of Serenade, and wondered of her parents, the town, and the base. But her daze was interrupted by the new passenger aboard.

"Hi, my name is Kayin. What's yours?"

Jing Li felt vunerable and extremely shy as she stumbled upon her own name. "J-Jing Li," she whispered, and then bit her lip. "Why can't I just be calm?" She forced herself to slightly smile, but each time she tried to make eye contact, her eyes would then fall back to the floor. "He's being friendly, and I'm being so rude..." She shoved her hands into her pockets. "Nice locket," Kayin stated, supposedly trying to make conversation. Jing Li instinctively held her locket by her fingertips. "Thank you," she said, and nodded slowly. Becoming even more queasy, she slinked out of the corner she was sulking in, and walked down the hall of the infirmary. "If you would excuse me..." Kayin shrugged, and she kept going. "I need to feel comfort again. I want to feel secure."

She looked for the hangar Serenade was in, but she felt as though there were someone following her in the empty hallways. Every time Jing Li looked behind her, she saw nothing, so she brushed the matter away. A short time later, she found the hangar her mecha was resided in, and entered. The closer she reached the back of the head, the better she felt.

"So what are you doing?"

The sound of a person's voice made her instantly flinch, and whirl around to find Gene in the doorway. He leaned against it, eyeing her. "You're not leaving, right?" Jing Li kept her ground. "No," she replied. "I'm just taking a look around it." She then resumed her path into the back of the head.

When the door's shut behind her, Jing Li sighed and took a gradual stroll around the area. Everything was opaque and lifeless, the wires on the floor, the controls immobile. She then spotted something unusual next to the control panel, on the floor. It was a fairly small chest. And engraved on the top, was the same rose marked on Jing Li's locket. She touched her locket, while kneeling down to the chest. Dust lightly rested on the top, making it's deep maroon paint look faded and worn. The lock on the peculiar chest, was in the shape of a heart. "Funny," thought Jing Li, as she took the necklace off. "It's almost as if..."

She placed the locket into the lock, and it fit- like a puzzle piece. Jing Li then opened the chest to find a tiny audio recorder and diary. She reached for the diary first, and opened it. Pressed rose petals fell out, and tumbled to the floor. And there was also a note. She read it, despite the dim condition of the mecha.

"When I get to fly this mecha, Eloquent Serenade, I'll help everyone as a Singer. I want my dream to become a reality. So now, I'll be cheering for myself from now on."

Jing Li then set the note on the floor, flipping through the pages of the diary. She stopped halfway, realizing that there wasn't anything written. She then put the rose petals and note back in the diary, and put it back in the chest. Picking up the audio recorder next, she found a tape in it, and pressed the play button to reveal a voice she heard before- the small, unknown child's.

"Hi, um...this is me," The child giggled to what they were saying. "Well...I want to tape my thought and feelings here. So go on me...chat away!"

Jing Li heard the child laugh again, and then silence. She stopped the tape, and thought for a minute. "I'll say something later..." After placing the recorder back in the chest, Jing Li closed everything up, locking the chest carefully. She then put the necklace back on as she stepped out of her mecha, not knowing that the last page of "her" diary was really written on...

Hashim stared at his handiwork through the viewscreen in his mech. He then threw his head back and began to cackle maniacally. He could hardly contain his amusement at the fact that the one that had expressly came to seek him out had been dispatched so easily. He then turned around and began to walk towards the hangar, but stopped suddenly when a strange feeling came over him. Destruction fell to it's knees and grabbed it's head as Hashim's brain was filled with visions of pain.

Can't you feel his anguish? He mourns for me...

In this state, he'll destroy you...you know that he will.

But...I destroyed you...

And now, it's your turn...

Hashim wasn't sure how long that he stayed on the floor like that, but when the visions subsided, he rose to his feet and rushed to the hangar. He ripped the metal door wide open and quickly exited his mech. He quickly crossed the wide space and asended an empty platform that was usually used for servicing mechs. Seiryuu was on a similar platform, his repairs were nearly complete

An instrumentalist stepped up and bowed his head. "My lord. May I enquire as to what has shaken you so?"

"He is coming. He is pissed off, and he is coming. When he gets here, the little tantrum that he has will be enough to obliterate you. So in you're best interests, round up all of your little chums, and LEAVE!"

The grunt just nodded; he was visably shaken, but not because of the yelling. He was shaken because Hashim was as well...

Zoltin seemed to slip in and out of sleep, which was not good when he was piloting this mech. But sleep waits for nothing and soon Zoltin was asleep in the cockpit and yet the Prelude was still flying on its own, but it was bypassing the singer ship's long range sensors and the captain was alerted, soon he informed the pilot to change course and follow the prelude.

While he was asleep, Zoltin dreamed about Aaron, about how he'd made Zoltin feel insignificant and pointless. Then he thought about the town he'd saved that girl from, the hell she must have grown up in. Suddenly, his anger rising in a swell of just lulling it around in his mind, erupted and he snapped his eye open and found himself drifting over a large clearing about fifty or so miles from his home city.

As the Prelude landed, Zoltin looked around. Aaron was here, he could feel it in his bones. Looking around he could see pieces of metal shrapnel and then his eyes trailed up to a large rock, there a mech was impaled on it and blood had gushed out of the cockpit and down the front and was staining the rock. His anger rising even more, Zoltin knew that the dead pilot and the destroyed mech was a Singer and Aaron had killed him.

Just then a couple of rocks tumbled down a rock face and Zoltin looked up and found the monotone eye of the Prelude to Destruction glowing like a blood red moon. Activating the sword, Zoltin rose into the air and prepared to square off with Aaron.

Shouts were clearly heard in the hangar that Seiryuu was in. Lana wasn't able to sleep, not because of the shouts, but because she feared for her sake and Seiryuu's. What would happen to her if she was found out and people spoke of her to those who knew her parents? What would happen if they had found her and took her back to their home? A dreadful thought passed over her. Lana still layed in the bed within the room that concealed her. She sat up slowly and sighed. The shouts were heard once more and she knew Hashim, also known as Aaron, was wanting to go away.

Stepping out into the open air, a slight breeze passed by her body as she walked towards where Seiryuu was staying at. Once there, she had seen the body of Aaron, yet the voice of Hashim was sounded from the moving lips that was once Aaron's. Lana walked with no emotion taking over her face as the shouts resided and the looks gazed upon her. Seiryuu felt Lana's energy and stirred to awaken. Lana put a smirk on her face and was able to watch Hashim walk to her without even turning back.

"Leaving so soon, Hashim? Stay a while, let us see what this...Prelude of Destruction can do." Lana still gazed upon Seiryuu who managed to awaken from his sleep and spread his wings, making those near him leap away. "Or perhaps you are, how should we say this? Afraid?"

Hashim crossed his arms and Lana turned to him with a smirk on her face. "I do not turn away from battles. Nor am I afraid. I am afraid of no one and all will fear me! The Prelude of Harmony will come to destroy the Prelude of Destruction and I will not allow that to happen!" One of Hashim's "men" came along and spoke to him. Hashim merely replied with another shout. "We leave...NOW!"

An expression of disappointment came over Lana as she closed her eyes and shook her head slowly. "Oh, tsk tsk tsk. Shouting will not help, nor will fleeing. The Singers will find you and they will prevent you from doing anything, anything, Hashim. You need all the help you can get. Perhaps you need -"

"You?"

Another smirk came upon Lana's face. She looked to Hashim and Hashim looked to her, then to Seiryuu. Laughter came over him. "Laughter only comes so easily to those who have a large ego and a small mind. That wouldn't happen to be you, would it...Hashim?"

"Fool. I don't need anyone. But...if you wish to...tag along, so be it. Round up your mecha and follow me. We shall soon see who is wrong."

Hashim walked away, his laughter trailing behind him. Lana crossed her arms and turned back to Seiryuu, whose wings began to fold. Lana gave him a small smile and walked away, to find anyone else. She was not going into battle alone...or was she?

The sword that extended from Harmony's hand seemed to be the only light in the massive clearing/crater, well besides Destruction's eye. The moon hadn't risen and the air was blanketed by massive cloud cover. Every now and then lightning strikes could be seen in the sky and Zoltin felt at ease, he always loved storms.

Zoltin remembered back to one day during his sophomore year in highschool how he'd been sitting in the addition in his house where his father's Master Grand Piano had been moved too, he was going over the music from his favorite game it had been around for a long time, but Zoltin had fallen in love with the music. So his father for Zotin's 16th birthday had gotten him the piano music all the way from Japan with a signature from the creator. Zoltin had then rushed to his father's den, which was the addition to the house and started to pluck away at the keys for the music. A week later, Zoltin had invaded his father's den and taken over the piano. Every day when his father would come home from work he'd hear Zoltin playing the piece over and over like a professional.

One day Zoltin was sick with the flu and wasn't even able to get out of bed that day. His mother had called the doctor and he had prescribed a medicine for Zoltin, but he warned his mother that it may cause Zoltin to lose some of his hand-eye coridination and he may not be able to play the piano again. Zoltin at first was reluctant to take the medicine, but soon after he fought with his mother and ended up coughing up some blood onto his bed, so it was then that he agreed to taking the medicine.

For a week Zoltin was secluded to his bedroom and he couldn't play the piano. His father had been coming home and he would start to tear up when he didn't hear the piano singing out that same tune over and over again. Of course Aaron had declared that he would be staying with Zoltin until he recovered. Well finally one day on the next week, Zoltin had goaded Aaron into taking him down into his father's den where the music still sat on the music rack. Still in his pajamas, Zoltin popped his fingers until they felt decent again and then lifted the key cover and started to pluck away at the keys once more. Once he slipped but it was because his hands hadn't been in full use for a week and they had kind of grown into a stupor. That day, Zoltin's father came home while it was raining and he heard the music playing in the house and at first he thought that someone was playing a recording, but he thought back and remembered that no one had made a recording of Zoltin playing the muisc, quickly he hustled back into his den and saw his son sitting at the piano playing the song with a smile and yet a look of determination on his face.

As the weeks passed, Zoltin got better and he continued to excel at playing that one music piece, finally one day he yelled for his mother and she came running in with a look of worry on her face. But Zoltin merely asked her to take the music away from his view and hide it. After she had done so, Zoltin started to play the piano again and the same tune came out easily, down to the last note. It was a large triumph for Zoltin, soon he joined the orchestra that following year and his teacher had praised him for having such a great ethic for practicing that he asked Zotin to preform at several recitals and to play solos in big concerts.

Thinking back to that music, Zoltin thought it would be appropriate for this setting right now. Two best friends, who were like brothers to each other, were now about to fight and something was going to happen.

Jing Li was walking out of the hangar her mecha, Serenade was in. But as she did so, a shock of turbulence made the vessel shake a bit. Jing Li stumbled, having to find balance. When the rumble passed, she became confused. "What the hell happened?" She went through the hallways and back to her familiar corner, passing by Kayin. She stopped, thinking that he might know what was happening.

"Kayin," she said, speaking a little louder than before. "Do you know what's going on? The vessel was shaking and well..."

"I don't know," said Kayin, scratching his head. "But try asking Gene. He should be hanging around here or something."

Jing Li nodded and walked a little further, until she bumped into Ryo, who was walking rather swiftly, and looking a bit frantic. "I'm sorry," said Jing Li, but Ryo shook her head in confusion. "Where's Zhi?" she said, sounding worried and a bit demanding. At this point, Jing Li was also bemused. "What do you mean? He's not in the infirmary? I thought he was there with you." Ryo shook her head again.

"Zhi was gone when I woke up from the vessel shaking, I-" But Ryo's voice was cut off by Gene's.

"He left," Ryo and Jing Li looked at him for an explanation as he crossed his arms and closed his eyes. "That's right, he took the Prelude to Harmony and went off searching for that friend of his. And I believe the vessel has just now found him, because we're off course. That's what I've heard."

"So I'm guessing that's what the turbulence was from." said Jing Li, wondering out loud. And Ryo remained silent.

Zoltin gritted his teeth slightly as he and Aaron circled each other like two hungry predators about to kill the other when he showed an opening. Unfortunately though, Zoltin was not wanting to kill Aaron, let alone inflict serious pain on him, so he had decided to not go full strength at him, yet. The two mechs just seemed to stare each other down. Destruction seemed unmoved by Harmony's gaze from its eyes which was slightly un-nevering to some of the Instrumentalists who stood by for an ambush should Aaron call it.

The lightning increased and thunder claps were soon followed, then a heavy rain started. Water formed small streams on both mech's bodies and Zoltin finally decided to make his move. Harmony's wings flared to the back of the head and Zoltin shot the mech fowards at an incredible speed, but Aaron had seen this and dodged to the right and brought his katana down upon the back of the Harmony, but in a fluid moment, Harmony had spun around and its sword was now blocking the katana.

"Heh, you got good Zoltin. I hope you're good enough to make it out of this fight." With that, Aaron semi-springboarded off of Harmony's abdomen, backflipped, and landed all in one fluid movement. In the meantime, Zoltin had managed to right Harmony and now brought up the Aria.

"Take this!!" The mouth of the Prelude To Harmony opened and emitted its paralyzing Aria. As it did so, the mechs in wait all froze and couldn't move, the pilots all were cursing at the A.I.s because it was like an EMP had smacked their mechs around like play toys. But throughout all of the singing, Aaron and the Prelude To Destruction stood still like nothing was affecting them.

"Was..That supposed to do something??" Aaron asked in a mocking tone, but Zoltin was in total shock, the fact that the Aria had no effect on him was comepletly wrong.

"Looks like you'll have to be taught a lesson on how to properly stun me!" With that Prelude to Destruction rocketed towards Zoltin and Harmony.

Kayin walked over to Jing Li and Ryo. "Do you think we should go after him? I don't know him or anything but from what I hear, he's in no condition to pilot." Kayin looked over to Ryo. "Excuse me what is your name? I don't want to go addressing you as 'Miss.' "

"My name is Ryo. And you're Kayin if I'm not mistaken." Ryo replied. "And I'm not so sure we should go after Zhi. It would be for the best however."

"So what do we do Ryo?" Jing Li answered. "There's no way he should have left the infirmary just yet."

"I say we go find Zoltin so he doesn't get put in something other than an infirmary." Kayin said. "I won't let anyone else get hurt again if I can help it..." Ryo and Jing Li looked at Kayin in confusion. "Forget it. I'm just thinking out loud..."

"Forget it. I'm just thinking out loud..." After Kayin had said this, another shock of turmbulence made the vessel rumble. It was easier for everyone to uphold their balance this time, considering they all had to adjust to the navigation. "Did we just stop?" Jing Li felt her stomach slightly knot up, but helping seemed as the best priority at the moment. She turned to Ryo. "So you're coming?"

"Hell yeah!" exclaimed Ryo in return. "That's my friend out there!"

"Well what exactly are we gonna do?" asked Kayin, a bit thoughtful.

"Why don't we just get out there and go from there?" said Gene, just a twinge annoyed. "We're not getting anywhere just standing like this." With that, Gene started off down the hallways, with Ryo, Kayin, and Jing Li following not far behind. Each of them had then reached their designated hangars, and entered. Soon, Jing Li was in Eloquent Serenade, wired up and ready to take off. "...636282045." After her mecha started up, the doors to ship the mechas resided in automatically opened, and Jing Li piloted Serenade out into the air.

The sky was filled with a sense of melancholy as the rain poured, with clouds a deep gray and lightning flickering. A boom of thunder made Jing Li cringe. Pretty soon, Gene, Ryo and Kayin were out into the sky as well. "There he is!" said Ryo, through her intercom, and Jing Li looked in her direction. Zoltin was a distance off, in a heated battle with another mech. Jing Li then had a slight headache as she watched the dark mecha, but she shook her head, alleviating the pain as to not be distracted. "Don't lose focus now! Do not lose focus now!" she muttered under her breath.

The Prelude to Destruction was lunging for Harmony as it dodged. There were also three Instrumentalist grunts in the distance, but they seemed paralyzed. "I'm going to go and take care of those other Instrumentalists seemingly in wait," announced Gene, through the intercom of his mech. With that, he rocketed off towards them. Kayin followed, messaging to the intercom as well. "If it helps Zoltin and Harmony, then I'm going to aid Gene in dealing with these guys."

Jing Li didn't know what to do at the time being, so thought as to soar off with Ryo, who was also following Gene and Kayin to get the grunts that were somehow paralyzed.

 • 3 weeks later...
The storm had intensified and Zoltin's sight was starting to blur because of the rain, he could only see the light being emitted from his sword and the light coming from the single blood-red eye of the Prelude To Destruction. Zoltin could feel his body tensing from the continous fighting between him and Aaron.

Suddenly, Destruction shot off towards Zoltin's left and then disappeared. "Dammit!" Zoltin cursed mentally as he tried to find Aaron, but he had no success, that was until.

"Can you see me yet? If not, too bad dear Zoltin. I will enjoy watching you twitch in pain." As soon as Aaron had said this, he lunged at the back of Harmony, but something caught him off guard. A large blade was blocking him from striking Harmony, quickly turning Zoltin saw a mech that almost resembled Harmony, except it was radiating a soft green glow.

"What the hell!?" Aaron hissed as he thrusted backwards in shock, but a lightning strike revealed a second mecha, but only the outline because in that flast it was gone and had obliterated a grunt.

As that happened, the mech that had knocked Aaron away turned towards Harmony and a small screen popped up and a young man with pure white hair looked at Zoltin.

"You better be more careful next time. I won't be here to protect your back."

The roar of the pounding rain beating on the hull of Destruction rang throughout Hashim's cockpit. He emerged from the shadows that cloaked him, and cast a crimson stare at his new opponent.

"Who the hell are you?"

"You can see me through all of this?" the mech's pilot asked.

"Heh. You simple fool. Darkness is my relm. A little sound and fury doesn't change that." A huge lightning bolt illuminated the area. Destruction had begun moving towards Harmony and its unknown savior. "You, an unknown, dares to meddle in my business?" Another bolt. A dagger formed in destruction's hand. "Destiny yearns for me to erase this weak idiot from existance "Another bolt crackled in between the three mechs. "And guess what?" Destruction's dagger had swelled to become a sword bigger than he had ever created. The mech cast a soulless red glare at it's opponent.

"You're in my way."

The Prelude to Destruction spun in a wide arc and slammed it's giant sword intothe side of the unknown mech. As the dark blade connected with it's target, it cracked and shattered, before disappearing in countless whisps of black smoke. The sheer impact of the sword sent the meck reeling through the air.

What? What's going on? Damn, I must have exausted myself while fighting Harmony. If I can't build up my energy again, I'll be finished by the two of them.

Hashim was blinded by a headache that felt as if his skull was coming apart. His stomach reeled, and a voice that wasn't his own came out of his mouth.

"HE'S WEAK! STRIKE NOW!"

You tricky b******! how long have you been planning that?

The enourmous beam that was Harmony's bow glowed brighter that the lightning around them. Harmony shakily got to it's feet and pulled back to create it's massive orange arrow. The arrow streaked high into the air and disappeared into the darkness.

"Well, I figured that you two would be busy with that little catastrophy up there," Maya said, pointing towards the sky. Harmony and the unknown mech rushed foreward. The ship that had brrn carrying all of the Singers towards the battle had been struck by Zoltin's stray arrow. It was smoking and falling fast towards the ground. Zoltin covered his mouth in silent horror and turned around to face his opponents.

Zoltin's stomach became a void of fear as he saw the ship list nose first and then a large explosion ruptured another part of the hull. "Dear god, what have I done?!" Zoltin said mentally as he thrusted Harmony at full power to the rapidly descending ship. For some reason a massive wave of fear and adrenaline had set into Zoltin, as he manuvered Harmony directly in front of the nose of the ship he grabbed the hull and tried to slow it down but the descent was too fast and rapid for Zoltin to even stop on his own, for some odd reason though, Harmony seemed to glow even brighter and the other singer mechs were drawn to the light, but the first to get up beside the ship were the two mechs that had just appeared, the one who'd helped Zoltin against Aaron popped up again.

"Try thrusting at full power and see if that helps." Zoltin nodded and for some reason, he could feel more of a rumbling coming from Harmony as it was forcing both itself and the ship up, but it was losing that battle ever so slowly, same with the other two, but their engines seemed more stressed with the power they were putting out. Finally the captain came over the com system, his voice was calm.

"Zoltin, Caden, Cael, all three off you get away because everyone has evacuated the ship, including myself. Just get as far away from the ship when it detonates, the force from the core of the ship is equal to that of five hydrogen bombs!" As if to prove this, the ship's hull ruptured with a huge ball of fire blasting from the hole. With that, Zoltin released his grip on the ship as did the other two. Quickly turning towards the city, Zoltin shot off while leaving the com channel open to the rest of the singers he said.

"To all singers, get the hell out of the crash area of the ship, its core will explode and destroy everything within a three mile radius!" As soon as Zoltin had finished that all the mechs had taken off at full speed away from the ship, all except one. Kayin's mech would not respond to any commands, for some reason a virus had appeared in the A.I. and it would not respond. As he looked up at the massive ship bearing down on him he closed his eyes in acknoledgement of his fate and he took off his pilot helmet and prepared for death's embrace.

The ship on the other hand, was now a massive fireball of twisted metal, the coridoors were now blazing infernos, but somewhere deep in the body of the ship, the core was just getting exposed to the massive fire of its body, and in one instant, it collided with Kayin's mech and forced it down to the ground but as it did the core erupted.

Looking back a massive light blinded Zoltin's sight and he was dazed as it receeded into the darkness of the storm, but Ryo was a little stunned and she expressed this feeling to Zoltin in a private channel.

"Kayin was still there. He wouldn't move, I thought he would as soon as he heard you. But..." She went silent and the channel was closed.

Back at the crash site, the remaining pieces of the ship were still ablaze, and amongst that debris lay Kayin's mech, twisted and mangled. But somehow Kayin had survived the crushing weight of the ship, but his cockpit had been breached just as the core had breached, and he was burnt to a blackened husk, his suit was now nothing but a covering for the semi bunt flesh, but that husk heaved once its final breath and breathed no more as the rain fell upon him and the metal hissing its final adiu to calm all.

"Dammit, why didn't Kayin come? This is such bull-"

After Jing Li stopped her mecha and remained still in a hushed panic, the most throbbing of her headaches had come, and she could not finish her previous thought. She gasped in pain, though stopped herself shortly afterward, and thought to herself as she closed her eyes. A part of her memory was coming back to her, though she did not realize it. She heard the same child's voice again. And though it was the same child, it did not sound like it at all. The voice was filled with anger and pain, as if the small one had just been emotionally destroyed.

"...You don't know what I want...You have no idea who I am...DO YOU!?"

After hearing the voice, Jing Li's eyes snapped open and trembled. But as she then focused back on what had recently happened, she felt a sense of anger rush slowly through her. She clenched her teeth and fists as her mecha Serenade lulled for those few minutes. In an instant, Jing Li unwired herself. She walked over to the small, maroon chest that lied in the corner next to the control panel. Then and there, Jing Li tore the necklace from her neck, rather than taking it off.

After opening the chest, and taking the small note from the diary, she surprisingly cut her fingertip with the paper. It wasn't a deep cut, though enough to make blood come forth. She used her blood to write the word, "FLY" in the first page of her diary. She did not know why she had written it; but after so, she felt a bit calmer with herself. Slipping the note back in the chest, still examining the diary, she noticed something peculiar. "What the hell...?"

She had flipped through the pages out of spite and curiousity, but Jing Li realized that the last page of her diary had been written in. She examined it closely, and then read the writing. And as she read the last page, she felt as though she could hear the same child reading with her.

"What has happened? All of what they taught me...had it been in vain this whole time? They showed what hypocrites they were. Their lessons had no worth my entire life! I'm going to prove what I am, and I'm not going to care about what they think anymore. How can I even trust them after what they did? They not only hurt themselves, but they hurt me..."

Jing Li squinted at the paper, confused over what had been written. It felt as though the room were heating up, and she began to breathe deeply in pace. Her anger was starting to rise again, and thus she threw the diary against the wall. It crashed with a soft thud, and landed on the floor; some of the pages crumpled under the pressure. After a heavy, weary sigh, Jing Li walked gradually over to the center of the cockpit, and wired herself back in.

"Don't worry Hashim," Maya told him "I'm going to go get you help."

Aaron snapped his eyes open. His memory was returning. He had drained Hashim of energy so that Zhi could defeat him, but this woman, a woman whom he did not know, but knew his alter ego well enough to be in love with him, had interfered. Still, all was not lost. Aaron had drained Hashim of so much energy that he had blacked out. The monster was dormant...for now.

The headache that he had somehow caused was still pounding in his skull, but Aaron gingerly shook his head to clear it anyway. He winced as stars appeared before his eyes and his stomach swooned threateningly. Maya glanced down at his head in her lap and began to stroke his hair.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."Zoltin remembered this quote from "A Tale Of Two Cities" as he landed Prelude to Harmony in the second ship that had arrived to pick up the mechs. Slumping against the seat, Zoltin let out a depressed sigh, he couldn't believe what had just happened, first he'd fought Aaron and then Kayin had been killed by the crashing ship.

"Dammit, of all things why the hell did this have to happen to me?" Zoltin thought to himself as he felt himself being pushed out of Harmony, as the light receeded he felt so alone and exposed, without Aaron; Zoltin felt insignificant and useless so he sulked off and changed into some clothes that were in his quarters and he wandered around the corridoors until he found the ship's lounge, as he walked in he noticed a lot of the crew were currently sitting around and doing things to occupy their free time, but what caught Zoltin's eye was the beautiful Baby grand piano sitting by one of the windows, strolling over to the bench he sat down and started playing a familiar song that he'd found while helping his mother clean out the attic, the song had been his grandmother's favorite song, but the tone seemed to depressing to lift Zoltin's spirits, but yet as he played the song his nerves and feelings of sorrow ebbed away into a sort of melancholic way, but yet it just seemed weird as he sat there.

As he'd been staring into space, the pilot from the mech that had interrupted his fight walked into the lounge and saw Zoltin playing the piano, and the entire crowd turned to watch him and he didn't even seem to notice. Walking briskly towards the bar, the man ordered a glass of whiskey and took up a seat on a bar stool and watched the young prodigy play the haunting song, but what really made the man uncomfortable was the fact that the boy wasn't even reading any music, he was just playing it from mind. At that moment another officer leaned over to the man and whispered.

"And to think that he's the pilot of the supposed ultimate mech. I can't believe a kid is piloting a weapon of such destruction, he shouldn't be doing this, what do you think Cael?"

Cael simply drank a little of the warm sweet whiskey and stared at the boy some more as he played more of the haunting melody. "He reminds me of my son, before he'd died. I think Caden will like this boy." With that, Cael stood up and moved over to one of the cushy lounge chairs closer to the kid, as he did so he took a small sip of the whiskey again and pulled a small locket out of his pocket. As he opened the locket a young teenage boy of 13 sat by a tree with a simple T-Shirt and a nice pair of shorts, but he was barefoot, beside him was a woman of 34 with a wide grin and a pale pink summer dress on. A single tear started to well up on Cael's face, but by the time he looked up Zoltin was standing over him with a look of curiosity.

"That's my son, he would have been your age last month, and that's my Anya."

"What happened to them??" Zoltin asked as he sat down in a chair beside Cael.

"Well, my son who was named Sean, was killed by a drunk driver when he was coming home from a concert, what was fucking bad about it was that both Anya and I had told him to leave the concert early so as to avoid any bad traffic, but I guess the drunk didn't give a shit. When the police called me and Anya we were just about to head to bed but we left immediately for the hospital. What made me angry was the fact that as soon as we entered I saw the doctor approach us and give us the bad news and then I saw the man who'd killed my son, at that instant I lost it and tore the IVs out of the man's arms and made him stand up so that I wouldn't feel bad when I killed him." At that moment Zoltin's eyes widened in shock.

"Don't worry, I only beat him sensless, though he was already that. Both my wife and I wept and wept, but the next day we had to make arrangements for the funeral, as we did so I noticed that Anya was coming unglued, as she was I felt as though I was losing part of myself, so I finally talked to her and she admitted she felt as if a serious part of her had just been killed when Sean was murdered. But after our talk we managed to get through the funeral, but one day I left to go into town to get groceries, but when I returned I found my Anya dead, she'd over dosed on some of her old medication. I had just buried my son and now I had to bury my wife, I thought I would never live to see another day." Caden noticed that Zoltin's face was starting to well up with tears and he cleared his throat.

"But I think I've said enough, how about you play that piano some more?" Nodding, Zoltin stood back up and sat down at the piano and started playing the song he'd been playing again, but as he did he mouthed the words "I'm sorry." To Caden, who nodded and sipped his whiskey slowly as he watched the teenager play the haunting song, as Zoltin did so, Caden swore he could see the outline of his son playing right along with Zoltin's song and he almost could hear the duet between them going on as well.

OOC: Terribly sorry. Forgot this was going on. ^_^;;;
-----------------------------------------------------------

Looking out to the ocean, Lana stood atop Seiryuu's shoulder, wondering whether or not she should trust or even let someone open her locked heart. She sighed and sat down as she listened to the ocean waves crash against the smooth sand. She had seen that woman and that man before. Where, she could not place. Their mechas looked vaguely familiar as well, yet...something was not right. With another sigh, Lana looked to Seiryuu.

"Seiryuu, voi noi energie spate? (Seiryuu, should we go back?)"

"Dacă tu dorinţă, Amelayhu. (If you wish, Amelayhu.)"

"I mean.....back home. Should we...go back?"

"Lady Amelayhu, I truly believe that there is nothing there for you. Let your destiny take its course as you live your life...not your mother's."

At the sound of "mother's", Lana smirked. "Not my mother's. I have not heard anyone say that to me for quite some time. I also truly believe that, Seiryuu. A permite nouă energie , apoi atunci , spate la Instrumentalists. (Let us go, then, back to the Instrumentalists.)"

"As tu dorinţă, Amelayhu, as tu dorinţă. (As you wish, Amelayhu, as you wish.)"

With a breath of relief and clarity, Lana stood and walked into her cockpit. She sat there and buckled everything and started Seiryuu up. With a push of a few buttons and the flick of a few switches, Seiryuu was airborne and the two flew out towards the ocean and back to the city. They were headed back to the Instrumentalists. Back to where Lana belonged.

Once there, Lana knew she had missed much and was in need of getting back up to par. She watched as the mechanics rushed around, and as some of the other Instrumentalists rested for a moment. She landed in her space and as she did, gazes were looked upon. Her cockpit opened and Lana stepped out, looking out at the crowd. She was gone for many days and many thought her to be dead. Yet, the site of her had brought back a ghost of a memory.

Jing Li sat in the lounge, alone like she wanted to be, resting her head on her arms, leaning on the table she was sitting at. Her eyes were closed, though she was awake in spite of all that had happened then. She listened to Zoltin as he played the piano, along with the few voices flowing about. Thoughts faded away the second they were brought up; all that had occured since she woke up in the hospital felt like the nightmare of her dreams. "If only I could wake up." She did not realize it, though she was softly humming to herself whilst thinking.

Opening her eyes only halfway, her view was blurry, coming into focus within seconds. Everthing around her seemed to go too fast; either that, or she was in slow motion at the moment. Becoming dizzy, she closed her eyes again and kept on listening to Zoltin's song. Though while doing so, she then strangely felt as though she were falling endlessly, followed by flashing streaks of silver- then nothing.

Not wanting to stay in the lounge any longer, she gradually stood up and walked out, heading to her quarters to lie in her bed for a little while. "I guess I'm sleepy, a small nap couldn't hurt."

Zoltin stood up from the piano and walked out of the lounge, he really needed to do something else than play a depressing song on the piano. As he exited the lounge, the door whooshed open and whooshed shut again as he stepped into the corridoor Zoltin felt a little out of place again, his boots clopping against the floor he headed towards the hanger, just so he could be away from all of the action. Lost in his thoughts, Zoltin didn't even know he'd entered the hanger. "Why? Why does this even have to happen, I didn't want this." He thought to himself, but even as Zoltin thought this he could feel a small twinge in the back of his mind, he knew that he'd have to fight and maybe even kill Aaron, he knew this and it scared him.

Nearing Harmony, Zoltin noticed that the wings were now folded over the face, as if denying anyone a glance at its face, but Zoltin knew that once he was inside the wings would unfurl and the visor would retract the extension over the eyes and he would be able to fight.Sitting down against a pipe that supported the catwalk's railing, watching his feet dangle over the catwalk, Zoltin still wondered why he had to be the chosen one.

While Zoltin had been sitting near Harmony, Ryo had walked over towards him and sat down next to him. She was extremely worried about her friend,

"Zoltin, are you okay?" Zoltin let out a small sigh and looked up at Ryo.

"I'm...Oh who the hell am kidding? Ryo, I feel like shit because I have to fight Aaron and I just can't bring myself to, and I if have to kill him, I know I won't, I just can't and I know its just me being weak." Ryo looked him dead in the face,

"Zoltin, you are not weak for wanting to try and save Aaron, in fact this makes you stronger. I just want you to know that you will always be my friend." Nodding slightly, Zoltin stood up and draped his arms over the railing and just stared at Harmony, but as he did so the captain came over the ship's loudspeaker and announced that the ship would be landing in a few minutes.

Aaron fought to stay conscious, but the of the rain lulled him into a deep sleep.

The alley seemed to streach on forever. I was alone, with only the sound of my rapid footfalls to keep me company. Soon...I heard them. Four, maybe five people . Their footsteps seemed uneven, a sign that they were carrying something heavy, perhaps an assault rifle or something even more fun. I smiled to myself and quickened my pace. The brick walls of the alley flashed by me, until finally I reached the end. I was surrounded by high brick walls on all four sides, not a good thing to happen when you're being chased by a bunch of pissed off people that you just stole from. Skidding to a stop, I spun around, looking for something, anything to use as a weapon. Garbage cans... Unless, they're bulletproof, not very useful. No matter . Let them come.

All at once, they stormed into the enclosure. I was right, there was five. The lead one (obviously the lead one because he seemed to have adorned himself with plenty of stripes and shiny badges) moved foreward. He raised a hand, and the four grunts behind him leveled their MP 5 assault rifles at me.

"This is your final chance. Surrender the materials that you stole, and I will guarantee your safety. You have fifteen seconds to comply."

"Hmm... Can you make it a bit longer than that? All this running has made me a bit thirsty, and I was hoping that I could have a soda."

A slight chuckle behind me. I turned my head to the side, Having my back to those five would have been idiotic.

"Gentlemen, It seems that we're all after the same thing, but I saw him first."

Her hair was long then, and it was obscuring most of her face, but I could tell that she was beautiful. Dressed in black and cloaked in shadow, it wasn't suprising that I hadn't seen her when I scanned the area. She was using some sort of loudspeaker to deter the five soldiers from finding her position, but my darkness wouldn't hide her from me any longer. As I realized what was really happening, it was my turn to chuckle; not only had she gotten the drop on me, she had already set up the area to her advantage. I was definitly impressed.

Two quick silenced shots, and a pair of subordinates to the main soldier dropped like stones. Two more shots, and the others followed suit. It was just me and the lead soldier. I could see him cowering in the dim light from the lone streetlamp outside the alley, but with a single shot, it was gone as well. It was just me and the soldier in a pitch black alley .

"Well? I've given you both a handicap, entertain me."

"Handicap? Not really. When that light died, this man's last chance to live died with it."

A sharp scream, and it was over already.

"Impressive. You finished him in a few seconds, and you couldn't even see him."

I stared straight ar her, and smirked as I saw the look on her face. "Do really think that I couldn't see him? I see you, don't I?"

"Alright. I definitly like you..."

As the ship landed in one of the cities large hangers, Zoltin had already changed into a suit he'd found in his temporary quarters, though the suit was just a brown jacket, brown pants, a green vest, a regular button up shirt, a black belt, and matching brown shoes he didn't feel like it was all a great deal.

The city seemed dead silent as he walked out towards one of the jeeps that would take him home, the driver was a young man, maybe a few years older than Zoltin, but still he looked pretty young. Climbining into the passenger seat, Zoltin buckled himself in and watched as his driver climbed in and started the jeep up and in a few minutes they were out of the base and on the highway towards Zoltin's house.

Looking over at the man, Zoltin realized he had a mech pilot badge. A little baffled, Zoltin cleared his throat so the guy would notice that he was about to do something, he obviously did because as soon as Zoltin had cleared his throat he looked over with a puzzled look.

"Something the matter?' Zoltin shook his head, but pointed at the badge.

"Oh, name is Caden and I'm the pilot of the other mech. Glad to meet 'cha!" He stuck his hand out to shake Zoltin's but he was left gripping air.

"Why are you fighting while you're so young??"

"Heh, I could ask you why the heck you're piloting that huge mech of yours. But then I'd know the answer to that, and I'm sure you can guess why I'm fighting." The cryptic message seemed to really dawn on Zoltin because as soon as he figured it out he was in front of his house. Stepping out, Zoltin was about to shut the door when Caden stopped him.

"Be sure to leave your house around ten tonight, there is a big party or whatever down at the city hall for some odd reason. Probably a photo opt with you and the mayor or something, either way its just some lame ass excuse. This is no time for celebration." Zoltin chuckled,

"So I take it you won't be at it then?" Caden nodded in response and drove off leaving Zoltin standing in front of his house.

Walking in, Zoltin knew that his parents were in the den doing something or they were out in the garden, so he decided to surprise them. Entering his father's den, Zoltin quietly moved the piano key cover off and started to play quietly and then increased the volume so they would hear him. It worked and soon his parents were in the den with looks of joy on their faces. Of course, his mother was rather insistant that she make dinner and after a few hours of talking, Zoltin realized that it was getting close to nine and he should change for banquoet, quickly explaining why he had to leave his father found his old tuxedo and gave it to Zoltin to wear.

As he pulled into the valet parking at the city hall, Zoltin knew that the paparazzi were going to swarm him or something, either way it was not going to be fun and he hated cameras. Quickly climbing out of his car Zoltin bolted towards the man who would park his car and handed him the keys and practically threw himself into the foyer just to get a head start to keep away from the papers.

The city hall was by all means not very political looking, it had a fountain in the center of the room, a large ornate staircase leading up to the second level, and for the time there was a small orchestra playing music. Zoltin really didn't see anyone he knew for the time, until he spotted Ryo in a pale blue dress with her hair down her back. Walking over towards her, Zoltin realized the mayor was heading towards him so it was time to make a big secne and run for it, which is exactly what Zoltin did, he bolted up the stairs and out onto the second floor balcony and managed to hide in the crowds until he saw the little band of annoying people disappear. Leaving the balcony, he headed back down to the first floor and Ryo was staring at him with a grin on her face as she chuckled at him.

"I take it the mayor found you?"

"pfft.. Are you kidding me?! I lost him in an instant, say you wanna dance?" Nodding Ryo took Zoltin's hand and a musical score which Zoltin hadn't heard started up.

The rest of the party consisted of Zoltin dodging reporters and the mayor, finally Zoltin and Ryo managed to leave the place. After dropping Ryo off, Zoltin got home and crawled into bed and slept.
